Bogue dégradé animé - Bug animated gradient

Bonsoir,
Hello,
I currently encounter a bug in the use of Edge Animate. I want to make an animated gradient. I do the gradient and if I directed at 0 ° (timeline 0s) and I go to another keyframe (timeline 1s) to change the orientation of the gradient, the gradient at 0 ° crashes and I have this message: "An error has occurred Please save your work and restart Edge Animate.".
If I put the 1 ° angle, it works. I tried to ask the angle at 0 ° on other keyframes, it's the same. You can not use the 0 ° angle in a lively gradient.
Thank you for your feedback.

Thank you for your answer.
I imagined workaround in your way. I also imagined to rotate the element containing the gradient, but this is not the same thing, because if the item is round, okay, but if it is rectangular, it does not give a visual rendering interesting.
I trust the developer to find us a good solution.

  • Animated gif and gradient color problem

    Hi there,
I have been trying to create animated gif with gradient background. My animation works alright but the problem is that when I preview either in browser or in the preview mode, the gradient doesnt look smooth. I want to know if there is a way to work around this? I have seen some on other websites and it looks perfect. I'm wondering how they do it.
    I'll appreciate anybody's help.

I have to thank you all for your assistance so far. I must say I only know how to put some few things together and I do not understand some of the technical words you used such as dither, geometric dithering, blending mode... But in all I understand that if I blend colors that are close I'll get something close to smooth.
Here's Wikipedia's page on dither: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dither Scroll down till you see the images of the cats on the right-hand side. It's a little over half-way. In the original, the cat's pretty much a gradient. If that image is saved as a .gif, see how you get wide areas of color? It almost looks like a paint-by-number picture. This similar to what happens to your radial gradient when you save as .gif. I used the word "geometric," because the radial gradient will produce arcs of grey colors. The third image of the cat has dithering. This means that, instead of setting the colors in the original image to the closest one in the restricted palette, the software tries to figure out how to speckle the image to produce an average that would look better at a distance. Turning on dithering when you go to output your gradient will help make your image smoother, just as the third cat image is smoother than the second. Here's where you turn on dithering if you go through File > Image Preview:
Here I have my unflattened .png file
    No, it's flattened. It's a single bitmap.
Here's a noisy image I created. It has a radial gradient at the bottom then a texture layer that has it's visibility off, because I copied it to make a greyscale version to use. I've set that to have 25% opacity and a blending mode of Multiply. Both the opacity and blending mode controls are at the top of the layers panel. This is a FW .png (Edit, no, it isn't! The forum  has stopped supporting that! ):
If I export the gradient alone, without the texture layer, I can get this (settings are "64-color" greyscale palette and no dithering):
    or this (turning on dithering):
While the dithered image is better, it still shows the arcs. If I set the texture layer back visible, and export with dithering on, I get this:
The noise in the texture breaks up the geometric arcs, which makes the image look smoother. Any small texture will do that. Choosing the 64-color greyscale palette gives me either 22 or 26 colors. The 32-color palette gave me 12. You should experiment with the .gif palette settings to see what you like best. Remember that the more colors you assign to your background the fewer colors you have available for your foreground objects.
As a final point, the red text looks blurry. When I zoom in on it (400%), some of the lines are partially "broken," specifically the verticals on the L, T, and N. You might want to try a different font or adjusting the size so that the aliasing (mapping) to the pixels is cleaner. Italic text in small sizes is difficult to use.

  • FCPX Text Animation Bug

    Hi Everyone!
I'm working through a 30+ minute video sequence showing photos and video clips of an event I attended recently.  This is my first foray into FCP.
I've come across a rather weird text animation bug, where text is animated onto the screen incorrectly.
So what I've shown above is one typical text box I've added for narration, using the "Typewriter" effect.  Of course, the text should render (appear) on screen one character at a time, but I have been getting a random number of characters at the end of the block that do not animate.  The only way I have been able to get these blocks to animate correctly is to add enough spaces to the end of the text to force FCPX to rerender the block correctly.
At some point in the future, this bug resurfaces, and I have to delete the spaces, and re-add them, to get the block to render and animate correctly once again.
If I go and "share" the resulting sequence, the bug is rendered into the sequence.
Deleting the text block, and adding a new block, doesn't seem to help.
I have reported this as a bug to Apple.
It's not just the Typewriter text effect doing this.  As far as I can see, it is every text effect bar the lower thirds (so far as I can see).
Any ideas on how to get around this?  Does anyone else experience this bug?

I'm starting to pull my hair out on this one.  My video is essentially ready for final rendering, but I've hit a snag re the rendering itself.
Check out this image I've just snapped:
    http://www.becsta.com/pics/skitch/FCPvCompressor-20110918-225758.jpg
On the left is the Compressor 4 preview pane.  Note that the text animations are screwed up, just like the screenshot at the start of this discussion.
On the right is the FCPX preview pane, showing that the rendering is complete and correct. All I did was select "Send to Compressor", and skipped the Compressor timeline up to review the same frame.
These text blocks are using the "Typewriter" effect.
So, what do I do to fix this once and for all?
Build it from scratch in Motion?
    Any ideas?

  • Audio/Animation Bug, with a work-around

This is one of those cases where TechSupport believes a
work-around is fine to something I would consider a bug. Took me a
while to find the solution so I'd like to share with everyone my
    problem/solution.
Background: I have a presentation with recorded audio on a
slide that uses custom animation; in this case I've drawn circles
and squares against an image to highlight a point. The animation is
"on click" specific per Breeze. One of those animations creaps in
    slowly.
Issue: When that same presentation from the Content Library
is shared in a Meeting, in my opinion all sound should be
"disconnected" unless using the presentation playbar. However, I
have found that during the building of the screen (using Next/Right
Arrow), the "sound behind the animation" comes through. Not
terribly anoying for fast entrances, etc., but when something
creaps in, you can have a lengthy audio playback during that time.
    IMHO, this shouldn't happen.
Solution: (two; 1 TechSupport, 1 mine) TechSupport says to
save the presentation as a different file name, close and delete
the .ppc file, reload into PowerPoint, accept the load without
audio and republish. Then in the meeting room simply select that
renamed file. Major drawback on this point: I've got a file upload
limit on my account. I've just doubled the space required per file.
My solution was to use the Pod Options on the share, select
Show Presentation Playbar and mute the audio. Simple.
However, I still think the audio snippets behind the
    animations are a bug.
Thanks for letting me get the word out about audio behind
    animations.

First Try this:  launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library.  Import some original photos from other library that are not rotated properly and check to see if the same problem persists. If it does persist do the following:  make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
         User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto.  You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
If still not working correctly continue with the following:  apply the fixes below in order as needed:
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • Smooth animation involving multiple gradient objects

    Hi,
I have an animation that contains 3 rectangles with gradient
fill on 3 separate layers, overlapping each other(basically making
a glassy capsule sorta thing). In the beginning of the movie, the
rectangles fade in, in more or less the same timeframe. The
animation speed becomes choppy during this part of the movie,
irrespective of the framerate I specify. (It's currently at 50)
I also have some cacheBitmap() functions(for dynamic masking
later on in the movie) taking place in the first keyframe. Tried
removing them to test the speed, but no visible difference can be
    seen.
Would be great if someone could tell me how I could fix this
    problem.
    Thanks!

Thanks a lot guys. I looked into the runtime bitmap caching
issue, but it didn't seem to solve the problem. Although, there
definitely was a noticeable performance increase when I did so. I
enabled it for the background on which the rectangles were drawn. I
haven't done the SVG thing though, as the gradients themselves were
vector data, drawn in Flash. I could try grouping them and making
them a single SVG file though -muses thoughtfully-

  • Photoshop CC: Layer Merging Behavior with Timeline Animations (Bug?)

    Hello,
we're working a lot with the Photoshop timeline in our company. After upgrading to Photoshop CC we encountered a behavior that was different with CS6.
Picture a file with a timeline animation consisting for example of 8 frames, with 8 layers, each layer's visibility exposed on a single frame (layer 1 exposed in frame 1, layer 2 exposed in frame 2 etc) and all other layer not visible.
In Photoshop CS6, if I were to create a new layer for example in frame 4 of my timeline above layer 4 (which is the only visible layer in this frame) and merged it back down onto layer 4 (by selecting it and pressing the shortcut CTRL+E), the resulting layer inherited all the exposure settings of layer 4, but did contain the merged visual content of layer 4 and the previously new layer above it. This is what I want.
Now in Photoshop CC, when doing the very same action, the layers are merged and keep the naming of layer 4, however the visibility flag is not inherited properly. The resulting layer is exposed (visible) on all frames in the timeline, whereas it actually should only be exposed in frame 4.
Also note that the timeline option "New layers visible in all frames" is deactivated. So even if Photoshop treated the merged layer as an actual new layer, it shouldn't expose it's visibility in all other frames.
The only workaround I've found so far is enabling "unify layer visibility", hiding the layer, then disabling "unify layer visibility" again. This is annoying however, and the entire new behavior seems like a bug to me. Can any of the developers comment on this? Thank you.
    Regards,
    Hannes Drexl

My only solution so far is to avoid using CC and sticking with CS6.  Thanks Adobe for not letting me enjoy the other great features of the PS version you seem to care about updating and improving.  Since PS is the main reason I even subscribed to creative cloud, it would be nice to at least know this problem is being resolved in the future.

  • Mouseover/Mouseout Animation bug when mouse moved quickly/fast over it.

Hi everyone, this is the first time I create a thread on adobe forum ^^
In edge animate I made a pretty simple animation :
    - I made a square
    - I made a movieclip with an animation of about 200ms (opacity) that show some text appart from the square.
Then I used mouseover/mouseout on the square to play & playReverse the animation of the text like that :
    Mouseover :
    sym.getSymbol("textclip").play();
    Mouseout :
    sym.getSymbol("textclip").playReverse();
So everything works fine when I move the mouse on & off the square.
I made this 6 times, so I have 6 differents square & 6 differents text animation.
But when I quickly move the mouse from one to another, some animation just bug but in a strange way :
the text is always shown and when I move the mouse to the associate cube that is normally playing the animation the text simply dissapear, and show back when I leave the cube with my mouse.
I tried to use mouseenter mouseleave but I'm not really sure what to use and how to do that.
Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hi, Achyp-
Welcome to the forums!  As you mentioned, you should use mouseenter and mouseleave instead of mouseover and mouseout.  Here's what you would do:
Delete your mouseover and mouseout events
Add the mouseenter event and stick your code from mouseover into it
Add the mouseleave event and stick your code from mouseout into it
Hope that helps point you in the right direction!
    Thanks,
    -Elaine

  • PSE 10 Mac - Animation "Bug" Fixed?

PSE 9 returned the ability to create animated gifs for those with Macs. YAYAY!
BUT... the delay didn't work, so it couldn't be changed from .02.
    Has this been fixed... yet?
    Thanks!

I found the answer to someone else regarding 9.0, recommending GIFfun. I've downloaded that, and it works.
Adobe has been ignoring this for so long for Mac users, it is very, very disheartening.
Again, thank you for the prompt response, Barbara!

  • JButton + BorderPanel + Animation = Bug?

When I use a button JPanel (South) and an animated JPanel (center) on a BorderPanel application, clicking a JButton on the button JPanel causes a duplicate (inactive) Jbutton to be painted in the top left hand corner of the animated Panel. I can fix this by repainting the animated Panel background - but does anyone know why this happens? (The code is very straightforward - don't see anything that would cause this weird behavior)

Thanks, I tried both your suggestions. I get the same behavior whether I override Paint or PaintComponent. Adding the Super statement stops the phantom button being painted, but it also blanks out the background! I guess the best thing to do is repaint the background on each animation event - it works, but seems like an unnecessary overhead.

  • Animated GIF - Animation slows after save CS3

    Hello,
When Saving an animated GIF in Photoshop CS3 the animated frames slow when viewed after the save. Therefore any gradient fades etc seem to stutter, about 25% slower than the frame rate set initially.
When the animation is played in photoshop it plays at the right speed, only slows when viewing the file after saving...
    Any ideas?

I just experienced the same problem in Photoshop. 22 frames with "no delay" selected in all of them. When opening the animation in IE6 and Firefox it runs slower than the original.
Therefore, would you be kind to post it if you found a solution?
    Hope to hear something soon.

  • Gif animation - Sub animation + randomizing

    Hello everyone!
I want to create a repeating, pixel art GIF animation. The basic idea is nyan cat swapped for a spaceship, in my usual video resolution. Now I made all the assets, and I thought I can use the star animation as a sub animation, so I can tell it to appear in random heights, move from right to left and start at a random frame, so I made a GIF just for that. But I fail to see any sort of controls that let me do what I was planned. Any ideas/methods to solve this? Perhaps I should use an other program?

Wrong program. Get After Effects. PS does not allow nesting and retiming you would have to "expand", that is copy&paste the bits and pieces to the relevant frames in your then new frame timeline for your final GIF.
