Books of Business Batch Assign fail

When I attempt to Batch assign a list of records to a newly configured Book, the log reports all records have failed to assign - "Access Denied".
These are the step I have taken with no further success. I am logged on as Administrator.
1. Added myself as a User to each book and sub-book in Book Management.
2. Logged in and out of Siebel.
3. Under User-Edit-Historical Availability set to "Full Availability".
4. Checked Administrator Role has access to Book record type.
5. Checked Administrator Role has "Manage books" privilege.
6. Set Company Profile-Historical Availability to "Full".
Unfortunately, the Batch Assigns still give "Access Denied".

Ky_CancerSA, Add yourself to the very top book in your heirarchy and remove yourself from all the other books, this should give you the access to do what you need to do. Also check your access profile and make sure you still have the admin access problem. Perhaps you've got limited access in the access profile to books as a related item?

  • Query-Automatic assignment of Record type to Book of Business-Pls help me

    I have a query about Automatic assignment of record in Book of Business.
    Using 5 record types & 50 regions as a part of Book of Business. You can say 50 sub-books.
    I want to assign these 5 record type to particular Book when to create & modify.
    Eg. When I create new account it should be automatically assigned to Book 1 & later I modify this account for reassignment to new user then it should be automatically added to the new user’s book.
    I need to create workflow for this as Assign to book criteria for both when new record saved & when modified record saved.
    I have tried this & its working; however problem is with the creation of two many workflows.
    50 region (Books) x 5 record types * 2 - Create/modify flow = 500 workflows for one country!
    If I am right then I can assign 1 record type with action as create or modify in 1 book only.
    How to reduce these no. of workflows?
    Pls help me out in this regard.

    I am sorry to tell you that there is no quick answer to this but i will say that maybe you need to rethink your book structure and their requirements here.
    I have 4 types and 7 regions so you need to create books to allocate all these on create and also modify. Customers have raised concerns with this to Oracle and they are looking into it but they are along way from completing this. Sorry to spoil your day but i would strongly ask you to consider your books structure before you complete this.
    Otherwise if you are using webservices you could assisgn the book when the record is piped into the CRM and then you only need to complete the modify workflows.

  • Using Book of business for object "Opportuntiy Product Revenues"

    Hi gurus!
    i would like to introduce the BOB feature on object "Opportunity Product Revenue". I have created a workflow to assign new created oppty revenue records automaitcally to the book.
    How do i assign already existing Opportuntiy Product Revenues to that book ? As i am not able to create a list and use batch assignment (for instance as in opportuntiy) i don´t know how to do that.. ?

    Juergen, you may have to use web services with your existing Opportunity Product Revenues.

  • Books of business - supported via web services

    Are books of business supported in R15 via web services interface? If we create a new Contact, Account or Opportunity, can we associate it to a specific book? I can't find any documentation on this subject.
    If not, what's the point of using this functionality? We have over 13,000 different zip code ranges in our territory structure in Oracle 11i CRM, and would like to be able to maintain some sort of parallel structure in OnDemand via web services integration.
    Are we stuck with creating Sales Team records for all object types? Seems very cumbersome to have to add a specific user to 100,000 different records, when we could simply assign them to a single book of business and accomplish the same thing.

    Scott, web services will not be supported for book of business in R15. However, I passing this information to our On Demand product marketing. Thanks for the feedback.

  • Batch Jobs fail because User ID is either Locked or deleted from SAP System

    Business Users releases batch jobs under their user id.
    And when these User Ids are deleted or locked by system administrator, these batch jobs fail, due to either user being locked or deleted from the system.
    Is there any way that these batch jobs can be stopped from cancelling or any SAP standard report to check if there are any batch jobs running under specific user id.

    What you can do is, if you want the jobs to be still running under the particular user's name (I know people crib about anything and everything), and not worry about the jobs failing when the user is locked out, you can still achieve this by creating a system (eg bkgrjobs) user and run the Steps in the jobs under that System User name. You can do this while defining the Step in SM37
    This way, the jobs will keep running under the Business User's name and will not fail if he/she is locked out. But make sure that the System User has the necessary authorizations or the job will fail. Sap_all should be fine, but it really again depends on your company.

    I'm looking for some advice from the community on how I can make use of the Book of Business for segmenting records for mail merges?
    Bascially, I want to restrict my mail merge to contain only those contacts who are linked to a specific Book of Business. Problem is I'm not quite sure how best to achieve this!

    I don't believe you can get a list of records attached to a book (wish you could), you'd need to create the list based upon your rules for assigning BOB's. For example with a company i setup BOB for we assigned the books by region. So where location = north then assign to North book. Your list would then be where location= north.

  • Analytics Visibility - Books of Business and Direct Reports

    We have a manager who has looks over two key accounts and also has a few employees who deal with smaller deals.
    For the two major accounts, the opportunities are assigned Books of Business and each book rolls up to the same parent book.
    When the manager runs a report, and picks the parent book at the 'Look In', will they see other opportunities that are owned by people who report to him/her, or will they just see opportunities that have the books of business on them.
    In a perfect world, they would like to see the key account opportunities as well as the other opportunities for people who report to them.
    Can this be done?

  • Books of Business for Country data segregation

    I am trying to determine the best way to use books of business to segregate the data in the system. There will be multiple countries using the system but the requirement is that noone from one country can see data belonging to another unles special access is granted.
    Has books of business been used in this way previously?
    As I will need to allocate all records to books are there any examples of workflow that can assign all the records owned by a user to a book?
    I need to create 2 book structures each with about 10 books, and assign the records of 150 users to these books - how long should this take me to setup?

    With the "selector", it seems that I can't choose the "All" option.

    I do have a similar problem.
    I have already tried to create a parent book (the checkbox "can contain data" is not activated), assign it to sub-books and add first my user as a book user (Admin role). However, when I start a simple report which should show e.g. Number of Contacts in a book an choose the parent book in the book selector I get an error message and there are no results ("The specified criteria didn't result in any data").
    Did I miss any setup steps or is not possible to see all the records at once which belong to the sub-books with a parent book?
    If I pick my user book, I see only the records I own. The problem is that our CEO needs a view there he could see records in sub-books separately but also the records in both of them at once. Unfortunately, the Manager Visibility can not be applied because we have a different hierarchy in the system as it is in real (otherwise wrong data in forecasts).

    My requirement is to show Completed or open activities which I am authorized to see under Account page, for thoes activities I am not able to see, I dont want to them to be shown there; Then what is the access control can make this work? the activities are authorized by Book of business; I tried to set related informaiton Appointment/Task as "inherit primary" but nothing was shown, if I changed to "View" lots of unauthorized activities are shown;

    Test it step by step:
    1. The inherit primary setting is correct. If you don't see any records under Account, create a Task. Check whether you can see it.
    2. Assign this task to a book that you have access to. Check again if you can see the Task
    3. then check why the other activities are not seen... probably you don't own them or they are in a book where you are not a member, you you are not on the user list of the task.

  • Can books of business be assinged to the revenue record?

    We are trying to assign a book of business to a revenue record. It does not seem possible. Our products are split up by divisions and we want product managers to see the opportunity revenue records that are in their division.
    Is this possible or does anyone have any suggestions?

    A good strategy would be to create appropraite Analytics Reports. Most of the managers would anyway require summary data.
    Subsequently you might want to provide drill down to these opportunities for whihc you might want to investigate assignment manager or assign the opportunities to multiple books of buisness.

    My senerio is this : -
    (1) I am creating delivery with batch split ...
    (2) Sometimes inspection lot created with batch assignment & I am able to record the result & UD but some times system made inspection lot with full delivery qty and when I am tried to record the result system given an error for "batch assignment required" . I am not able to understand why some system do other procedure & some time do other...
    Can anyone help me out...

    Is this an outgoing delivery, inspection type 10?  If so, the inspection lot is created when the delivery is created.  So the lot will be sitting out there with the status BREQ, batch required.  You must be using a batch managed material.
    Untill a delivery is fully picked, the batch number is not assigned to the inspection lot.  I believe this is the difference you are seeing.  In some cases, SD might  assign the batches either directly in the sales order, (which transfers to the delivery), or they assign them in delivery before the lab does the testing.  You might also have automatic batch selection which might pick the batches in some cases, but in other cases no batches are found and it requires a manual intervention to select batches.
    In other cases, if shipping hasn't yet completed the SAP transactions to assign the batches to the delivery before the lab completes testing, you'll get the error you are seeing.  In some busineses they test the batches before making the assignment so they don't have to unpick the delivery if a particular batch fails testing.  Doing that, means the lab has to wait to record the results until later, after SD finishes picking the delivery.

    You'll need to ensure the timeframes are aligned. What is the valid from date of your organisation and equally so important from your (sub)proces and your control. You are trying to do an assignment as per the first of january 2015. You'll not find entities that are created after Jan 1 2015.
    Furthermore you can only select controls that are either earmarked to be tested automated or semi-automated.
    Finally you're refering to mitigating controls. So that would imply you have integrated the AC mitigating controls with PC or vice versa. What is the creation date of the mitigating control and per which date has it been assigned to the local subprocess?
    In order to provide a precise answer we'd need more details on the exact process you've follow. There are simply more than on possible root causes depending on what you've done.

    You can supress the field Business area field in Field status Groups.
    For this follow the following steps
    Please check TCode OBC4 for field status variants
    > Goto G001 (General) Field status group
    >Additional Account Assignment
    > Click supress in front of business area.
    In that case, F-02 will not even ask for business area.
    Also check whether Business area FS is ticked in front of your company code in TCode OB65
