Bootcamp no longer works after adding partition via Windows 7
I needed a D: drive in Windows and shrunk the system (C:) partition and added another partition intended to be a secondary drive in Windows. After rebooting Windows throws a BSOD and I can't even select OS X as a bootable option. Is anyone able to point me in the right direction on how to fix? Thank you!

Bootcamp no longer bootable after adding and deleting partitions
I am using a 2014 Macbook Pro with OSX 10.9.5
I was trying to add a partition to install Ubuntu on and after adding and deleting partitions, my bootcamp partition will no longer boot whether I use rEFIt or bootcamp assistant or normal osx boot menu.

It wasnt like this before. Before 3 and 4 had some of the same values from above instead of all 0s. After trying to take advice from threads with similar problems and entering stuff into the command line it became like this. I think I might have messed thing up while looking for a quick fix.

I followed the rest of the instructions given here. I made sure to enter the second number with a + sign. After doing all of that all these checks worked:
Test 1 - Does Bootcamp Volume show up in Finder?
Test 2 - Can you see files in Bootcamp Volume?
Test 3 - Can you select Bootcamp in System Preferences -> Startup Disk?
I've always been able to access my bootcamp files from finder and I can try to boot from System Preferences -> startup disk, from rEFIt and also from my macbooks startup manager that I access by holding down option while booting.
I'm starting to think I've misrepresented my problem and that I've been looking at the wrong threads. Every time I try to boot windows I get a black screen with the Windows logo and some text saying something like "starting automatic recovery" or something like that. It then takes me to a blue screen displaying an error number and telling me to use recovery tools on the installation media. Maybe this is different from the problems I've been looking at in other threads.
I've tried using the same USB I used to install bootcamp with but it doesn't give me the option of repairing the installation.
EDIT: So I figured out how to edit replies. Anyway I just tried to boot into Windows and checked. The black screen with the Windows logo says "Preparing Automatic Repair". The blue screen gives me the error 0xc00000e. -
Grouping compilations no longer works after adding artwork..!
Until yesterday I had never bothered with adding artwork to my itunes library as I had a gen 3 iPod that would not show it anyway. I have a new ipod so last night I decided to add artwork, this I did by getting what I could from Gracenote, the rest I have been dragging from images on Amazon and other sites. Ever since doing this the Group Compilations option no longer works, despite having this checkbox ticked in preferences and making sure that the yes box for part of a compilation is ticked for these albums. In addition, every song in a compilation album is displayed individually in the Cover Flow view option.
Is this a peculiarity of 7.2 or is there a way I can get this to work again? I am sure it is something to do with having added artwork as it was working fine before.

Lost access to OSX after adding partitions in Windows
I have a brand new MacBook Pro Retina and have used Boot Camp to install Windows 8.1.
All was working well and I could swap between OSX and Windows.
Then I booted into Windows and went to work on re-partitioning it since I like to separate OS and data. In the Computer Management - Disk Management app I first shrank the Windows partition and then I created two new data partitions and moved some labels around so that now the partition arrangement shown is....
EFI System partition - unlabeled
Drive D - HFS - large, assume this is OSX partition
Drive Z - HFS - small, assume this is HD recovery partition
Drive F - Big Data - second new data partition created
Drive C - BOOTCAMP - windows OS boot partition
Drive E - Data - first new data partition created.
Now I cannot boot OSX either
a. by selecting a partition in Boot Camp app which shows 5 partitions all of which boot windows
b. by holding down Alt key during startup which shows only the Windows partition.
My reading so far has revealed my stupidity in that I now know Boot Camp works through an MBR which only supports 4 partitions and I now have 6. So I have to work out what to do next. My options appear to be
a. Live with what I have - my primary OS is Windows and I can live without the OSX (I bought a Macbook 'cos I wanted both though)
b. Delete the 2 additional partitions and hope this will restore access to OSX. Live with data in the OSX partition
c. Find some solution that will allow me to use OSX occasionally using current partitions - I guess that means 3rd party tools
Any advice please. In particular will simply deleting new data partitions and resizing windows partition to original size get back to the original working configuration. I can of course try this but am wary of ending up with no working partitions now.Apologies for replying to my own message here but I have extra info

Laptop internet connection no longer works after adding Time Capsule to network
The other day I was setting up my Time Capsule for the first time at my new apartment (after having it in a box for months). I've got internet access through my apartment, so I haven't needed to use it as a router like I did the last time I used it. Also, the router is in another tenant's room. So I opened Airport Utility and adjusted the settings to add the Time Capsule to the network. After doing this, my laptop has lost its Internet connection. I can still connect to the network and my iPad has had no issues connecting to the same network and using the Internet, but the Internet won't work on my MacBook Pro (2006 model).
Since then, I've plugged an ethernet cable between my laptop and Time Capsule so I could find it on Airport Utility and change its settings to connect to the laptop via Ethernet. Also, I called my landlord and got the router reset.
I know the Time Capsule/Airport Utility is involved because the Internet connection died as soon as I tried adding my Time Capsule to the network.
Any suggestions?I am having the same problem. It worked fine (connecting my iOS devices to my macbook pro using internet sharing) until Lion. Then it all went to ****.

Pages no longer works after adding app store
Added app store this morning, only added the twitter app, and now Pages refuses to open. Doing software updates did not help. iWork 09. Keeps giving me error message that this version of pages not compatible with this operating system...

Try repairing disk permissions.
Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.

Epson printer driver no longer working after 10.4.11 update
It seems that my original Epson driver for my Stylus Photo 750 is no longer working after my latest Tiger update. The system does recognise it but shows an exclamation mark behind it and refuses to print with it (the document stays in the waiting line forever). Reinstalling as well as repairing permissions didn´t help. Fortunately the Gimp Epson driver is still working but I have no access to my coloursync profiles with this driver.
I know that many printer drivers need to be rewritten for Leopard (one of the reasons I didn´t update yet) but it is not understandable why problems happen with a Tiger update.
Does anyone know a workaround?

WolfgangI just discovered a similar problem. I have an old Epson SC3000 and under 10.4.11 my computer doesn't communicate with the printer. It's an AppleTalk printer, connected via Ethernet. I tried bypassing my network switch and connected it directly to the Mac-- no go. I then rebooted into 10.3.9 and printing works fine.
I downloaded the driver from Epson and installed it in 10.4.11. When I try to add the printer in the Printer Setup Utility, the machine just hangs-- can't force quit the utility and eventually the Finder even stops responding. It takes a hard reboot to clear up.
I can't say whether or not printing worked in earlier versions of 10.4. I haven't been using 10.4 for very long, and I rarely use the SC3000. -

After I upgraded my home machines to Lion, I can no longer access them from my work computer, which is running Snow Leopard. When they were both Snow leopard, it worked fine. How can I get them working again? I don't have control over the OS on my work computer. Is it necessary for me to downgrade all of my home computers to Snow leopard in order to get them talking again?
Additionally the binoculars icon appears in the menu bar all of the time. In previous versions, this would only happen when somebody connected to my machine. Could these problems be related?OK, so further investigation has addressed the BTMM issue on a remote machine.
With all machines running lion, I was having issues trying to log in to a standard user headless machine already running. In Snow Leopard, I had no issues with this since you can log in via screen sharing using an admin login that's running a standard login. Lion allows multiple accounts to be signed in which is handy since you can now run virtual sessions. This means you can admin the remote computer without bothering the remote user.
The problem was that now logging in using admin login brings up the admin account (which makes sense) instead of the desktop to the standard login. I applied a similar solution to a problem that was related to screen sharing I found on this board. What I believe to be the fix is to add the standard user to the screen sharing user list. Then screen share to the remote account using the standard user credentials.
So on the remote computer, in System Settings->Sharing->Screen Sharing, add the standard user to be allowed access. Previously I only had admins. This may not be an ideal solution for what I'm trying to do since the remote computers primary login is the standard user to be used as a common computer, but it now works so I am happy with it.
Now my only "problem" is my AEBS complaining about my MobileMe credentials, but it doesn't appear to have an impact on BTMM performance so I'll quietly wait for a fix down the road. -
"List Tools" tab is no longer available after adding webpart
In SharePoint 2013 I have added a generic content editor webpart to a discussion list (also tried with a documents library list). After this "List Tools" tab is no longer visible. Any ideas why?

Did you try deleting then reinstalling the app? Sometimes developers will need to update their apps for compatibility. If it still doesn't work after reinstalling, wait a few days to see if an app update becomes available.

Many Apps are no longer working after webOS 1.4 update! - please help!

Many of my previously working Palm Pre Apps are no longer working after the webOS 1.4 update.
Here are the ones that just return a blank/white screen after launching so far:
SplashID
Daily Devo
Daily Light (Love)
Absolute Fitness (some options no longer work correctly & are returning a white screen and some options are working)
These are just a few of the Apps that I am having problems with and there are probably many others. I have also sent emails/posted to forums on the developer sites to advise. Hopefully I will hear something back soon.
Anyone else experiencing this issue as well with any Apps?

EDIT: Never mind. It appears that it only did that on the first launch. I closed it and restarted it, and now the screen in SplashID is correct. -

The button's broken. S**t happens. Apple will replace your phone. If in waranty it will be free of charge. If not, you will pay $149.
You can elect to have it repaired at a 3rd party shop near you if you choose, but this will void all warranty if there's any left. -
Canon iP2700 is no longer working after update
My Canon iP2700 is no longer working after doing an update yesterday. I am using the cnijfilter-ip2700series 3.30-2 from https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=41797 with cups 1.5.2. I have blacklisted usblp, but this doesn't help. My printer is recognized, and apparently I can print but nothing happens. This is my error log:

I think it's something related to the driver. If i change the driver to another printer model from CUPS the printer works. Prints garbage, but at least works. So this means that we have to wait for a new driver or what?
