BOSE SOUNDDOCK SERIE II - IPHONE 4S ISSUE

Does someone may help with following problem:
In my family we have we have 3 dock stations audio devices: Bose Sound Dock series II, Philips DS3020/12, Sharp DK-AP7N(R).
We have also 2 Iphones 4s and one ipod classic.
The latest iphone 4s does not work with the Bose and Philips audio systems: the iPhone 4s is charging, but music is playing in the iPhone speakers and not in the dock speakers, on the iPhone there is a message. In Italian the message is "Il dispositivo non supporta questo accessorio" that almost means that the iPhone does not support the device. Please note that the iPhone works with the Sharp DK-AP7N(R) audio system.
The other iPhone 4s works with all 3 devices since long time.
Both the iPhones have iOS 7.1.1, so it should be not related to software version.
The ipod classic works with all 3 devices.
Does anyone know how to fix

Just went to check my Series II - I have the white 3G S 16 GB. No problem there - played music right away.
An apple store employee told me Bose Series II is compatible with 3G S.
I did get a white screen on the second day - had to do a hard restart and software restore. Maybe it's a problem with the software they installed. You can restore the software from itunes and see if that helps - back up before.
I was also told by an Apple Tech make sure you treat it as a new iPhone don't use the back up when you restore the software in itunes.

Why does my Bose Sounddock series 2 start at 0 volume when I connect via airplay?

Whenever I connect to my Bose Sounddock Series 2 using my iPad, iPhone, or iTunes, the volume always starts at zero, so I have to get up, find the remote and turn up the Sounddock manually, every time. Hey iPod touch users 101, Have you done trouble shooting 101? (couldn't resist, the 101 thing just screaming to be done, anyway...) Most often the little switch inside the headphone port gets stuck open, so your iPod thinks the headphone jack is still pulled in. Try looking the port with your iPod turned off, do you see anything, pocket lint is most often the culprit. If you see something attempted to blow it out, or use a probe to carefully remove the foreign debris. If that does not work, or you do not see anything, try quickly plugging / unplugging the headphone jack several times about 12 times, free the switch, if contacts are corroded this action should clean them. Check for foreign debris again, may need to repeat this action. Hopefully this solves your issue. You can also try resetting, press and hold the power and home buttons together until the Apple logo appears then release both buttons, or go into Settings>General>Reset, then tap Reset All Settings, but I think from what you have described you problem is hardware not software. If problem continues, contact your Apple store or the Apple Genius Bar, and set up an appointment to have your iPod evaluated. Good luck, Cheers.

I decided to go with the Zeppelin... it arrived yesterday... and to be honest it out shone all my expectations... a superb.. superb piece of audio engineering and it looks like nothing I have ever seen... for once someone has exceeded Apple's industrial design.... the sound and build quality are just amazing... I have been listening from everything from Rufus Wainwright / Antony to Kraftwerk on it and it consistently blows me away.... it's like listening to my Rotel/B&W separates system in my living room... but this magical sound is coming from my iPod attached to the black silhouette...
For me it was between the Bose and the Zeppelin... cost was an issue... I had heard the Bose and was very impressed... but I loved the styling of the Zeppelin... and I have B&W speakers already and adore the sound... what I was worried about was that at twice the price, would I get double the sound and build quality.... and to be honest... the Zeppelin knocked all my fears out of the park... it's about 3 times better sound quality and the design and build are in a league of their own...
In the end... I took the leap of faith... I could get to test it here where I live in Cork, Ireland... would have to travel to Dublin... so after reading all the reviews... especially the comments on here... I took the plunge...
A superb system...!!! Superb Sound Quality... and well worth the money... think of it as an investment in your music collection...

but can it be used overseas like Australia where the voltage is 240Volts?
Is the power adapter up to international standards??

What is the best bose sounddock adapter for iphone 5

I am so diheartened that my wonderful bose docking system is not compatible to my new iphone 5 and the lightening adapter for £25 does not look to be very sturdy or even athsetic. Ive heard they only work on analogue not digital.

Bose SoundDock killed my iPhone. Now what?

At a hotel I plugged my old phone into this speaker set to listen to some tunes after a long flight. The phone came on and displayed a "This hardware is not compatible" warning with the only option being a "Dismiss" button. So I tapped that then the screen started freaking out, flashing, filled with garbage. I yanked the phone out and it seemed to sort of recover then the home screen inverted! Everything was backwards. I tried a few restarts and it seemed OK, then it would lose the roaming signal (I was in Spain). The battery was nearly dead so I decided to charge it overnight and try again later. Next morning the phone was very hot and completely dead. It would not power up and does nothing when connected to either of my Macs; they do not recognize it.
So any ideas what parts may have died? If it was just the battery it should still respond when docked. Can I send it to Apple for repair or are there better options?
This Bose thing seemed to have fried something. Unfortunately as it happened outside the US I don't think I have any claim against Bose. The phone was beat up but it worked perfectly til it met the Bose. Grr. 2G phones seem plentiful on ebay and craigslist but I would guess that most of them are stolen.

If it is under warranty, Apple may or may not replace it for you. The best thing to do is make an appointment at the Genius Bar - http://apple.com/retail/geniusbar and have them take a look.

HOWEVER if you have the very first Bose Sounddock available before iPhones were available you will also need an adapter to convert the change of 30 pin configuration which Apple made when the dropped fire wire
identify which Bose dock you have and it's year and I will find links if required

Ipod Nano 3G and Bose Sounddock Problems - Please help if you can?

Hi all,
Hope you can help me out, I have just purchased a Nano 3G and its all fine when working with head phones.
Tried it in my Bose Sounddock and it has several issues:
1) will not charge at all
2) will not let me change songs when docked
3) when removed it locks for up to 20 secs
4) bose remote will only let me alter volume not songs or rewind
5) if I press off on Bose remote it goes off for 5 secs then comes back on
Please can anyone help explain or offer solutions to this please.

Is it possible to overcharge an iPod Classic in a Bose SoundDock?

Do I need to be concerned about leaving my iPod Classic 120MB docked in my Bose SoundDock Series II when not in use? Could this practice overcharge the iPod's battery and hence shorten the life?

I'm sure someone will correct me if I am wrong, but the iPod will not allow itself to be overcharged - it will "quick-charge" to 80%, trickle charge the remaining 20%, then stop whether plugged into your computer or your Bose SoundDock.

Can anyone tell me what the true difference is between these two systems:

are they both portable?

HT1665 Why does music come out muddled and echoing in alarm mode when the iPhone is connected to the Bose SoundDock lll?

There is a very unique problem with the iPhone 5 and iPad mini when connected to the Bose SoundDock III.
In normal music playback, music sounds great coming out of the Bose SoundDock, but, when a song is chosen for the Apple Alarm App and turns on when the alarm goes off, the music sounds terrible. It reverberates, echoes, is muddled, sounds messy.
What is so odd about this is the same sound coming out of a speaker-device connected to the phone's headphone jack sounds perfect, and as intended.
It only has this issue when it is in alarm mode and it's connected via the lighting port connector.
Is this an Apple software glitch that wasn't researched fully or a manufacturing defect on the Bose end?
I've tried a couple Bose systems so it isn't peculiar to one SoundDock.
What are your thoughts?

Check Settings > General > Cellular > Cellular Data and make sure it's "On".

IPhone & Bose SoundDock Problem

Hi,
I have the Bose SoundDock (iPhone compatible in flight mode). Everything works, however, especially when skipping songs, the iPod app closes and the phone returns to the Home screen. This has been constant and the iPod doesn't open up again, so it has to be manually restarted. My iPhone has done this before from time to time out of the dock, but when in the dock, this happens without fail! Therefore, I was wondering if it is the iPhone or the dock causing the issue?

Likewise mine works perfectly same devices so it is a unique issue to you not generic
If you have correctly tried to pair and still no connection try .
reset iPhone . Restore iPhone first with back up then if required as new
It is unlikely to be the Bose firmware ,mine has worked from an iPhone 4 onwards for almost 4 years without any changes despite regular iOS updates

IPhone 3G and Bose Sounddock Portable

Does anyone know if this will work?
I do know, that the "old" Bose Sounddock does not work with the 3G, but what happens to the Portable? Please anyone can confirm?

the Bose SoundDock Portable is going to charge the iPhone 3G, although it is making this horrible, clucking and popping sound every five minutes or so. But until the charging of the iPhone is completed the popping sounds are gone.

I took my SoundDock Portable back to the Apple Store today and got a B&W Zeppelin instead,.... oh Boy what a difference! For shure its a LOT more money,.... but this beauty is worth every of my hard earned pennies! Not only does it work like a charm with all iPods i do own its also is an ideal companion to the iPhone 3G - it even shows up the "Speaker Settings" Menu in the "General Settings" Menue,... i really did not expect that. Don´t get me wrong i liked the Bose Portable a lot, but i did not want to rely on Apple or Bose to wait for a doubtful upgrade to either unit, be it the Bose or the iPhone. P
Portability has never been an issue to me,.... so i am really happy now with the Zeppelin which is sitting on one sideboard in our livingroom,.... if you interested in really good sounding speakers, do your self a favour and go audit those awsome Zeppelins.

How to fix New Bose SoundDock Portable not working with iPhone 4s?

I am having trouble working with my Bose SoundDock Portable with my iPhone which i bought on monday.
I have a iPhone 4S running on iOS 5.1.1 and nothing is working. Not charging nor playing music. Thought it was going to be as simple as plug and play. So annoying.
I've tried turning my phone off & on = NOTHING
I've tried removing the universal adapter to test if it had been a connection problem = NOTHING
It had been suggested in other forums to check if the 30 pin dock connector on your iPhone was clear. Clean and tested = NOTHING
I'm starting to think
A) Its the new update of iOS 5.1.1
or
B) Its a faulty Bose product.
Both Bose and Apple website both confirm that the iPhone 4S is compatable with Bose SoundDock Portable.
