BOXI3.0 How to choose certain data format from selected field?

Hello there!
Its been a while since my last post the question.
I have one question.
I have this PO_ID field. Example of the data:
1. 72998
2. FF15376
3. 71794R
4. WSSC 092008/0004
5. WC/ 092008/0290
6. MP20080911-1187
There are a lot of style or non fix data format inside PO_ID field.
My question is how can I choose only PO_ID type no.1 (72998) only show in the webi?
Filtering is one way but what about formula or variable or any other method?

Of course there is more than one way to skin a cat.  Here are a couple of ways:

=if(substr[PO_ID];1;1)>="0" and substr([Po_ID];1;1)<="9";"Number";"Not a number")
Personally I have more confidence in the first example, but the second example may work reliably.  It's just that I've used the first method more often...

    There is a requirement to show the current date in an error message at the attribute level. That is, if the user input a date in a text field that is earlier than today's date, then an error message must immediately pop up with today's date in the message. To achieve this we are using a token expression in the EO ( Under Validation rules) . The token expression uses adf.currentDate to get today's date.
    The problem is that the expression extracts the date in the form of yyyy-mm-dd. What expression should I use to get the current date format in mm/dd/yyyy ? Can I modify the adf.currentDate expression in some way to get the desired format?

    You could write a custom EO method to return today's date in the specific format. Then access it via the Groovy adf.object expression.

    I have just received and am trying out things my new Alcatel Fire E with FirefoxOS 2.0.0.0 (just updated).
    It is usual in most operating systems to be able to customize the date and time settings (amongst other things). After a few fruitless hours fiddling with the phone and checking various forums, I've come to the conclusion that this is currently not possible on my phone with this version of FirefoxOS. Or have I simply missed something?

    Go to the Settings app and select "Device information". You can either choose "Check now" or select "System Updates" and then "Check for Updates". If there is an update available you'll be notified. What it won't tell you is which version the new one is, at least I did not recieve that information. I thoughT I was updating to 1.4.x, not 2.0.
    You should be given the choice to either update or not. You can ignore the update if you want (like if you don't have the time, or something.
    A couple of words of warning:
    1. Make a backup of any important data first.
    2. It takes quite some time to download all the update data and this might bust your limit depending on what your service provide allows. I avoided this by doing the update whilst connected to a WLAN (also known as WiFi) which has no data restriction. This can be set in "Check for Updates > Settings".

    Is there any way to get Date format from "Locale" object. I should get date format for local object
    I get local object from "UserSessionData" object but how to get Date format from it.
    I am not looking for Date value. I am looking for current local date format ("mm/dd/yyyy or dd/mm/yyyy or mon/dd/yyyy) whatever local date format.  I could not find example which show how to get date format from "Locale" object.

    You can get it from "User" or "Shop" business object.
    Try to get User or Shop Business Object as shown below.

    Maintaining Generic DataSources
    Use
    Regardless of the application, you can create and maintain generic DataSources for transaction data, master data attributes or texts from any transparent table, database view or SAP Query InfoSet, or using a function module. This allows you to extract data generically.
    Procedure
    Creating Generic DataSources
    1. Select the DataSource type and specify a technical name.
    2. Choose Create.
    The screen for creating a generic DataSource appears.
    3. Choose the application component to which you want to assign the DataSource.
    4. Enter the descriptive texts. You can choose any text.
    5. Select the datasets from which you want to fill the generic DataSource.
    a. Choose Extraction from View if you want to extract data from a transparent table or a database view. Enter the name of the table or the database view.
    After you generate the DataSource, you have a DataSource with an extraction structure that corresponds to the database view or transparent table.
    For more information about creating and maintaining database views and tables, see the ABAP Dictionary Documentation.
    b. Choose Extraction from Query if you want to use a SAP Query InfoSet as the data source. Select the required InfoSet from the InfoSet catalog.
    Notes on Extraction Using SAP Query
    After you generate the DataSource, you have a DataSource with an extraction structure that corresponds to the InfoSet.
    For more information about maintaining the InfoSet, see the System Administration documentation.
    c. Choose Extraction Using FM if you want to extract data using a function module. Enter the function module and extraction structure.
    The data must be transferred by the function module in an interface table E_T_DATA.

    d. With texts you also have the option of extracting from fixed values for domains.
    6. Maintain the settings for delta transfer, as required.
    7. Choose Save.
    When performing extraction, note SAP Query: Assigning to a User Group.
    Note when extracting from a transparent table or view:
    If the extraction structure contains a key figure field that references a unit of measure or a currency unit field, this unit field has to be included in the same extraction structure as the key figure field.
    A screen appears on which you can edit the fields of the extraction structure.
    8. Edit the DataSource:
    &#9675; Selection
    When you schedule a data request in the BI scheduler, you can enter the selection criteria for the data transfer. For example, you can determine that data requests are only to apply to data from the previous month.
    If you set the Selection indicator for a field within the extraction structure, the data for this field is transferred in correspondence with the selection criteria in the scheduler.
    &#9675; Hide field
    You set this indicator to exclude an extraction structure field from the data transfer. The field is no longer available in BI when you set the transfer rules or generate the transfer structure.
    &#9675; Inversion
    Reverse postings are possible for customer-defined key figures. Therefore inversion is only active for certain transaction data DataSources. These include DataSources that have a field that is marked as an inversion field, for example, the update mode field in DataSource 0FI_AP_3. If this field has a value, the data records are interpreted as reverse records in BI.
    If you want to carry out a reverse posting for a customer-defined field (key figure), set the Inversion indicator. The value of the key figure is transferred to BI in inverted form (multiplied by –1).
    &#9675; Field only known in exit
    You can enhance data by extending the extraction structure for a DataSource by adding fields in append structures.
    The Field Only Known in Exit indicator is set for the fields of an append structure; by default these fields are not passed to the extractor from the field list and selection table.
    Deselect the Field Only Known in Exit indicator to enable the Service API to pass on the append structure field to the extractor together with the fields of the delivered extract structures in the field list and in the selection table.
    9. Choose DataSource ® Generate.
    The DataSource is saved in the source system.
    Maintaining Generic DataSources
    &#9679; Change DataSource
    To change a generic DataSource, in the initial screen of DataSource maintenance, enter the name of the DataSource and choose Change.
    You can change the assignment of a DataSource to an application component or change the texts of a DataSource. Double-click on the name of the table, view, InfoSet or extraction structure to get to the appropriate maintenance screen. Here you make the changes to add new fields. You can also completely swap transparent tables and database views, though this is not possible with InfoSets. Return to DataSource maintenance and choose Create. The screen for editing a DataSource appears. To save the DataSource in the SAP source system, choose DataSource ® Generate.
    If you want to test extraction in the source system independently of a BI system, choose DataSource ® Test Extraction.
    &#9679; Delta DataSource
    On the Change Generic DataSource screen, you can delete any DataSources that are no longer relevant. If you are extracting data from an InfoSet, delete the corresponding query. If you want to delete a DataSource, make sure it is not connected to a BI system.

    Wayne found the Spinning Beachball of Death, and you will find it too.
    Numbers is not good at handling large datasets. Might I suggest that you group your data into smaller sets (each month, perhaps?) and save each group in a separate Numbers document. Numbers will not link between documents, but you could have a summary Table within each document. Then comes the "clunky" bit of copying all those summary tables into a master document where you do the final processing of the data.

    I got a requirement where I need to get data from a text file and insert the same into oracle table.
    I am using SQL*Loader to populate the data from the text file into my table.
    The file has one field where I am expecting date date data in multiple formats, like dd/mon/yyyy, yyyy/dd/mon, yyyy/mon/dd, ,mm/dd/yyyy, mon/dd/yyyy.
    While using SQL*Loader, I can see Loading is failing for records where we have formats like yyyy/dd/mon, yyyy/mon/dd, mon/dd/yyyy.
    Is there any way in SQL*Loader where we can mention all these date formats so that this date data should go smoothly into the underlying date column in the table.

    The point being made was, are you sure that you can uniquely identify a date format from the value you receieve? Are you sure that the data stored is only of a particular limited set of formats?
    e.g. if you had a value of '07/08/03' how do you know what format that is?
    It could be...
    7th August 2003 (thus assuming it's DD/MM/RR format)
    or
    8th July 2003 (thus assuming it's MM/DD/RR format)
    or
    3rd August 2007 (thus assuming it's RR/MM/DD format)
    or
    8th March 2007 (thus assuming it's RR/DD/MM format)
    or even more obscurely...
    3rd July 2008 (MM/RR/DD)
    or
    7th March 2008 (DD/RR/MM)
    Do you have any information to tell you what formats are valid that would allow you to be specific and know what date format is meant?
    This is a classic example of why dates should be stored on the database using DATE datatype and not VARCHAR2. It can lead to corruption of data, especially if the date can be entered in any format a user wishes.

    I have IDOC(DESADV.DELVRY03-> file ) scenario which i am working on . While debugging noticed that the field :
    E1EDT13\NATNZ -Data Transformation(from yyyymmdd to mm/dd/yyyy)-Target .This works
    But say if IDOC doesn't pass any value (For Good's issue) I get Error during debugging : RuntimeException in Message-Mapping transformation: Unparseable date: ""
    I did check thsi blog : Convertinf Date format from YYYY-MM-DD to MMDDYYYY  but this is  about the Data Transformtaion.
    I tried using constants , create if , -these function doesn't work /not applicle in this case
    Could you please provide  inputs as to how to handle two condition :
    1. With date -- then transform
    2.Else , pass nothing

    so if there is space return as such

    as tibollo said you just need to mark 0CALMONTH with text in RSD1.
    Kindly note that you don't need to do data load for this object.
    It will automatically derive by system.
    Just change the Info object 0CALMONTH in RSD1, Go to Master Data/text column and check mark on with text.
    Then activate it.

    The default locale should be enough to set the correct date format for you. You can check the currently set locale with java.util.Locale.getDefault(). java.text.DateFormat.getDateInstance() generates the proper date format for that locale.
    The other poster is right, though. You're asking for an OS dependant function which Java, rightly, does not do.

  • Change the date format from mm/dd to dd/mm

    Is there any way to change the date format? Currently, my today screen, calendar app, etc is set to display dates as mm/dd. I'd like to change it to the UK format (dd/mm) but I have not been able to find a single method that works. I've tried themes as some have recommended but once I install them, it's still showing mm/dd.
    I'm not unfamiliar with upgrading the OS and "slimming" it down, so even a method that requires me to remove US resource files will be okay.
    Frankly I'm disappointed RIM doesn't provide users with a "Regional Settings" type option like in Windows to change the date format.
    Any advice would be most appriciated.

    Yes you can change Date format from mm/dd to dd/mm its done automatically by " Display language " selected :
    Go to Menu : Setup - choose  - Language and Input Methods - look for " Display Language" there is a  small window with down arrow , click the down arrow and ,  change from " English"  to " English (UK)  "for DD / MM ,date format , or change to       " English (US) "  for MM / DD date format.
