BPC 7.5.06 NW Dyanamic Hierarchy Editor in BPF

Hi All,
In the Consolidation BPF under the Define Actions Tab the Action Name called Manage Ownership Data, I have selected Action Detail like Interface as (Interface for Execl) and Task as (Manage Dynamic Hierarchies) and selected the application as Ownership. After saving this action or the step or BPF it is picking the other application in the place of Ownership. I have maintained controlling application as LEGAL. Please help me to solve this issue ?

Hi Liam,
From our last project, there is no differences in making ownership from template or dynamic hierarchy. Because both of data will appear in template or dynamic hierarchy.
If you change hierarchy in dynamic hierarchy editor , the changes will appear in ownership input template and vice versa.

BPC 10.0 NW - skipping in hierarchy upload

Hej Gurus
I have a question regarding automatic upload of a hierarchy from BW into BPC. We have a hierarchy with all costcenters including both active and inactive costcenters, and these costcenters are spread out through the hierarchy.
In BPC, we only need the active costcenters, but the inactive is needed in other applications, so it is not possible to change the hierarchy.
Is it possible to do a skip based on a BW attribute, when importing a hierarchy or is it possible to make it only look at costcenters in BPC?
Alternatively, is it possible to pick up the parent in the master data attribute/text from BW process chain? In this it is possible to skip based on an attribute.

Hi Mikkel,
As suggested by Gersh, you have to consider that point.
Coming to the you problem you can crated additional hierarchy for BPC to existing info object by considering only active CCs with the help of ABAP. You can also automate this hierarchy creation.
While loading master data you can load only active CC by selecting option "Set filters by attribute AND hierarchy" and while loading hierarchy select custom hierarchy created for BPC. This approach will not affect your existing development and no need to create z object as well as no need to add in to cube.

Dynamic Hierarchy - SAP BPC 7.5 MS

Hello everyone. I am running SAP BPC 7.5 on the Microsoft Platform.
The issue I am running into is that I have children entities that have two parent entities. The Entity Dimension has our traditional organization chart. However, our reports require an alternate hierarchy.
Example:
Company A is a child of Company ABC in the org chart
however for reporting purposes
Company A is a child of Company XYZ
I need to pull in company XYZ in the report so that Company A is reported as being a part of it.
I need to be able to set up something using a dimension property that will allow me to pull in this hierarchy into our reports, WITHOUT using expansions.
The reason I cannot use expansions is some of the report will use the traditional org chart and the other portion of the report will use the alternate hierarchy.
I there some way to do this without using expansions?
I have setup a dimension property called "GROUP" that identifies the alternate hierarchy. However, the only way I know to pull it in the report is through the use of expansions in the "MembersSet" filter.
I have also tried to use the "Dynamic Hierarchy Editor" only to discover that you have to define hierarchies for specific time periods, and still use expansions.
Any suggestions? I feel like I am missing something.

Hi Will,
From what you describe I think an alternate (second/ H2) hierarchy is needed.
You can try adding a second hierarchy to your Entity dimension member sheet (PARENTH2) to see if that meets your requirement.
You can only create reports that have a hard-coded row or column key range or a dynamic row/column key range defined in the memberset field.

"All" Hierarchy in BPC

I have a doubt about updating a hierarchy in SAP BPC, and I need your help.
I'm working with SAP BPC 10.1, and I need to create a hierarchy in a dimensión that is not hierarchized in BW, so I can't import it.
I remember that working with BPC 10.0, I created a hierarchy with a transformation file, making a mapping for all members to "All" in this way.

Since this way is not working, I have tried to make a script logic to fill the hierarchy, but I've never made a script logic. The one i've made is:

*IS DISTINCT (All, Dummy)
*REC (Parenth1 = All)
*ENDWHEN
It seems so simple, so I think i'm doing several things bad, Could somebody help me?

BPC Hierarchy load - Zero record

Hi Experts
I am trying to load Master data + Hierarchy first time in this system and followed below both document..

The master data/attribute load run successfully with selecting "OR" option and hierarchy..but BPC is not able to recognize the Hierarchy nodes..
When I run only Hierarchy package then I get below log ->
Task name HIERARCHY DATA SOURCE:
No records are returned from 0GL_ACCOUNT
Record count: 0
Task name CONVERT:
No 1 Round:
Reject count: 0
Record count: 0
Skip count: 0
Accept count: 0
Task name HIERARCHY DATA TARGET:

I am sure the issue is that BPC is not able to read Hierarchy from BW & i have checked the hierarchy structure is present in BW.
I am working on BW 7.4 , BPC 10 Release -> 801 SP-Level 06 , EPM 17 Patch 2

I can not see the Hierarchy nodes in Web Admin after loading Master data.
I have exact setup in other implementation in BW 7.3 and it is working but in BW 7.4 it is not

I'm encountering an error "writeTreeData: Error in clsMain::writeData : Type mismatch" when I save the changes that I've made in the Dynamic Hierarchy Editor, does anyone encountered this error before? I'm using BPC 7.0 MS.

example
for my time dimension i've noticed that it is in the parent member
time = 2008.yr
if just replace it with
time = 2008.dec
and then it works

SAP BPC - Legal entity/Profit Center hierarchies - Time dependency

Usually Organizational structure (legal entity/ Profit center) hierarchies are time dependent in EC-CS and BCS.
Are these hierarchies time dependent in BPC?
If yes, How these settings should be made in BPC?

BPC NW does NOT support time dependent hierarchies. However in 7.5NW, you can use dynamic hierarchy editor that will enable you to do time dependent BPC reports.

Building an hierarchy in Universe

Hi,
Please help us how to build a Hierarchy based on particular values. i.e we need to create an hierarchy in universe level(for ex: Derived Table) and database is SQL Server.
hierarchy : Year->Quarter->month-> date
For date object the query is current date value. (this we can get)
Month -> It should be last day on of the day value in that particular month(i.e if jan is the month then we should get 31st value as month value)
Quarter -> It should be last day value of the quarter (i.e if quarter =2 then we should get quarter 2 value as june 30th value)
Year-> last day of the year as year value.

So you want to create a Hierarchy where you would be combining multiple dimensions such as Year > Quarter > Month > Date.
Create a new hierarchy from hierarchy editor, Tools > Hierarchies.
When hierarchy editor opens you will see all available objec in your universe on the left side of the pane.
You have to add required objects on the right side.
When you are creating new hierarchy you are creating new new folders in the custom hierarchy pane and then adding required dimensions.
Here are the steps...
1. From the Hierarchies editor, click the New button.
2. Type a name for the hierarchy.
3. Press RETURN to apply the name.
4. Select the new hierarchy.
The hierarchy is highlighted.
5. Expand a default hierarchy node in the left pane.
This is the hierarchy that contains dimensions that you want to add to the
new custom hierarchy.
6. Click a dimensions you want to add
Now come to your other issue for selecting last day of the month etc. For this you will have to write down formulas to achieve this functionality.

Hierarchy to use in Script Logic

Hello Experts
I am trying to transfer the Profit/(Loss) from P&L to Reserve Account in the Balance Sheet by running a script logic.
I am using BPC 10 NW 7.4
The hierarchy of P&L, is designed to calculate the Profit of Loss for the period. I wrote the script by selecting node in the hierarchy and transfer to reserve account. However it is not working.
To test my logic, instead of hierarchy, I tried with a base level account member, it is working.
Following is the body of my logic.
WHEN ACCOUNT.PARENTH1
IS <P&L AFTER TAX> // The node which aggregate the value
REC (EXPRESSION = %VALUE%, ACCOUNT = <RESERVE ACCOUNT>)
How could I resolve it?

Hi Abraham,
Nodes are not looped in WHEN/ENDWHEN, only base members.
If you want to copy the node value to some target the best way is:
*XDIM_MEMBERSET ACCOUNT=BAS(SOURCENODE)
*WHEN ACCOUNT
*IS * //scoped as base members of node
*REC(EXPRESSION=%VALUE%,ACCOUNT=TARGETBASE)

AWM 10.2.0.1 - I can not choosing Value Based hierarchy

I have Oracle client 10.2.0.1 software with AWM 10.2.0.1 . I want to build a dimension with value-based hierarchy . In AWM I have hierarchy editor with the two radio buttons for choosing type of hierachy : Level Based hierarchy and Value Based hierarchy . But the secod one (Value Based hierarchy) is disabled - I can not choosing this type of hierarchy . Why this?

Hi there,
I really would not recommend that you work with the 10.2.0.1 version of AWM. This version is fairly old now and there have been a number of important bug fixes added to more recent releases.
What version of the Oracle database are you running? And on what operating system?
I suggest that you consult the following link and ensure that you are working with the versions of BOTH database and AWM that are recommended by Oracle:

Reporting on dynamic hierarchies in BPC 7.5 NW

I have build an application with dynamic hierarchies. The ownership cube is maintained via the dynamic hierarchy editor. Now I want to report on those hierarchies. I have set the option u201CDynamicHierarchyExpansionu201D to u201CYu201D. As the result the hierarchy is displayed correctly. But the data are not aggregated. How can I see the aggregated group values? Do I need to run a package? If yes, which one?

Thanks for your reply Unfortunately , I did not have STORED_CALC field the GROUP dimension properties for your kind info.
Without above property also, I am getting Error and Can't save changes to DHE.
I have maintained same fields what ever you mentioned in previous post on AppSet/Set Appl parameters.
