BPM: incoming messages disappear during send step

Hi,
I want to implement a message aggregation with the bpm tool.
For this reason incoming asynchronous messages should be collected and at the expiration of a time limit bundled and send synchronous. This synchronous phase takes ~40 sec.
Incoming (asynchronous) messages during the (synchronous) send step disappear.
SXMB_MONI: The status of the incoming message is "message scheduled on outbound side". The click on "Technical Outbound Channel" gives a popup "There are no workflows that have already worked with this object".
Once the synchronous send step is finished the status becomes "Message successful on outbound side" and the click is going to the workflow log (only one log for all messages). There is no entry for that message.
This happens both if a receiving step is active and if not.

Udo Martens

Hi, Abhishek:
The reason to use Fork is that all the branches can be reached.
By using switch, it only judge one input value and only one condition turns true.
Actually in most cases, the number of my input value is more than one, saying two or more message types generated.
And this is not multi-line situaion, because the messages generated are different types.
Your reply remind me to add switch inside fork.

  • Fault message in synchronous send step in BPM

    Hi,
    When executing a synchronous send step in BPM it is possible to handle application errors (fault messages) with an exception branch. But how do you get hold of the actual data in the Fault message(faultText, faultURL, faultDetail etc) for further processing (mapping)?
    Kind regards Johan

    Johan,
    u have to define another container element in integration process.
    For that container element an Async Abstract interface has to created with falult message as the message.
    Do u have the fault message defined already...

  • HCM P&F: No check during send step

    Hi,
    I am working with HCM P&F on EhP3 and facing the following problem with checks during the send step of my form, standard process HR_PA_XX_TRANSFER_2:
    1) Lets assume that I want to change PERNR 007. I open the form and press "Check and Send". At the same time somebody else is working on PERNR 007 via transaction PA30. I get an error message that "Personnel number 007 could not be locked. Person is already being processed by Dr. No". I am not getting forward in the process and the step remains "Check and Send". This is correct and the way I expect it to work.
    2) Now let assume again that I want to change PERNR 007. I open the form and press "Check and Send". Nobody is working on PERNR 007 and the process is moved to step "Send". Now somebody opens PERNR 007 via transaction PA30. I press "Send" and I get a message that the "process was successfully completed". However, looking into the backend no changes have been made and in the application I see .... "Personnel number 007 could not be locked. Person is already being processed by Dr. No". The problem is that the process has been completed and I can therefore not reprocess it!
    Does anybody understand the logic behind this? Any solution to the problem? Is it because there is a missing lock after pressing "Check and Send" or is it a missing check during the "Send" step?
    Thanks.

    Ensure that the program exit CL_HRASR00_POBJ_WF_EXIT is maintained correctly at each interactive workflow task.
    If the issue persist please describe the configuration with screenshots.

  • Messages disappear after sending, cannot sign in with apple id

    I have an iphone 4s that when I send a text message, as soon as I send it the message I sent disappears off my phone.  It goes thru to the recipient tho.  If I restart the phone, my sent messages re-apear.  Also, I cannot sign in with my apple ID.   I get an error saying that my password is wrong or that there is a network error.  I have 2 apple ID's and get the same errors with both.  I've tried restarting the phone, hard reset, reset network settings, nothing has worked so far.  I'm not able to sign in to re-activate imessage, update apps etc.

    UPDATE....I reset ALL setting on the phone.  This seems to have fixed things.  imessage works again and texts appear as they should.  The only glitch is that a bunch of recent text are dated April8 and 9 2012.

  • Retries in BPM Send Step

    Hello,
    I wouild like to send a message using the send step in BPM to an http receiver. Requirement is, if the http server is not reachable there should be 3 retries and afterwards an error should be thrown.
    How would I do this? Do I need three error handler branches, where each of those has the same send step? And then apply a 4th error handler which then terminates the process? I think there should be a simpler solution.
    What do you think?

    For http receiver, you will finally receive error message in sxmb_moni (not RWB). If you have standard retry configuration in sxmb_moni, then same would be applied in this case also.

  • Reuse message after send step in integration process

    Hi all,
    I have a strange problem....
    In my integration process, after some steps, I send a message asynch (in config an FTP receiver). After this I need to reuse the message just sent for a transformation, but the ip dumps. If I delete the send step, everything ends without error!
    Is it possible that I cannot reuse a message after a send step? If so, why?
    Thanks for any help...

    > ReceiveTransformAToBSendBTransformBToCSendC
    TransformAToB...ok
    But in Step TransformBToC...you have to specify the Interface Mapping..it means
    the Interface mapping should be between Outbound Interface for B and Inbound Interface C.
    So u can store the B Abstract Message in the Container.
    SO your BPM Look like this way...
    <b>StartReceiveTranAtoBSendToBContainerToStoreTheValueofBTranBtoCSendtoC--Stop</b>
    ContainerToStoreTheValueofB store the value of transformed message(that is B )
    THen in TranBtoC (source=message stored in container and Target = C message)
    I do hope it will work as per your requirement.
    Thanks

  • BPM - Optional Multiple Send steps

    I have a situation where I'm doing Message Splits in BPM and subsequently Send steps. Due to MessageSplit I may  or may not produce Target messages. But Send Steps following the transformation are errored out saying no Instance found ( No message found ).
    Transformation step may or may not produce all target messages. How to avoid BPM to fall into error in this situation.

    Hi Ram,
        Ok do one thing create a container variable. Dont use this container variable in any steps. now pt a condition at the point whr u want to check whehter the container variable in which u r receiveing the msg is not equal to this newly created container variable. If the condition is satisfed, u hv receive the msg i.e. ur container variable is not empty.

  • Quoting/threading phenomena in mail.app -- due to problems in incoming messages?

    Folks:
    Mail 5.1 on MacOS 10.7.x
    I began using Mail.app when I installed 10.7, shortly after the initial release.
    No problems with respect to unformatted email or replying to short, trivial length formatted message.  For complex, on-going discussions  I feel that consistent and reliable quoting and threading behavior are essential.   But that is not happening in some cases. I'd like to figure out why, and what I might do to fix the issue.
    (Note:  I do not want to get into a discussion here of formatted versus unformatted email.  Both have their pros and cons. Nor do I want to spend a lot of time debating this issue with my correspondents.  As a matter of courtesy, I set Mail.app to respond using the same message format as the original message.)
    When I reply to a formatted email,  I notice that mail.app sometimes draws a dark grey box --with rounded corners-- around one or more incoming paragraphs, placing a circled "X"  "close icon" at the upper left.   I don't get it.  To what does this correspond?  Why does mail.app mark-off this text and offer a "close icon"?   As far as I know I'm not doing anything that implies I might want to delete the text.
    (Note:  Rummaging around in the corresponding message source, it seems that these boxes correspond to blockquoted text in the received message.)
    Editing within one of these boxes is really unpredictable.  Sometimes I can select an insertion point and insert a line-break, in preparation of replying to the text just above.  Sometimes nothing happens. Sometimes I can select text, and cut it. Sometimes nothing happens at all to the selected text.
    Mail.app commonly doesn't  correctly increase the quoting level in such paragraphs.  Using
        Format> Quote Level>Increase
    to maintain threading history manually is fairly easy since I've defined a function-key shortcut, which works some of the time -- but  the effect of this command is unpredictable.  Sometimes this command deletes the selected text entirely.  (Grrrrrr!)  The workaround I've found is to select smaller chunks of text.  In such cases, this command generally works correctly.
    Meanwhile, messages from exactly one person --who uses gmail exclusively-- are displayed in a completely unique threaded format by mail.app.  The entire short history of 5 messages from him are displayed on multiple virtual sheets in one message window, with the latest first.    In one view, clicking on the "see more" link at the bottom of his messages unleashes a cool-looking accordion opening effect and displays my part of the thread. (I guess.  I don't totally understand this display concept.  But it looks very cool and seems to handle quoting and threading pretty well.)
    What's going on?
    My best guess is that mail.app is struggling with "inconsistencies" in the incoming messages from different people using various email clients.  I seem to recall reading that email tech specs  are a hodgepodge of evolving and contradictory  standards. Is that correct?   Is that the root of my issue?
    Many of my correspondents are non-tekkies and/or non-affluent, and they use whatever email client they can afford.  Some could be using really old email clients.  That doesn't help, right?  Are blockquotes a really archaic formatting measure?
    When these problems occur, they can cost me a lot of time and trouble.  It's really distracting to have to deal with portions of the incoming message disappear.
    I don't think it is practical to persuade my correspondents to upgrade their email clients.  Some of them have trouble simply setting the preferences to support quoting.   Threading is a difficult concept for a few.
    Any suggestions?   Any mail.app preference settings I might try adjusting?  Any add-ins?   Is it possible to tell Mail.app "interpret all incoming blockquotes tags as simple breaks" or strip them entirely?  Or ...?
    TIA

    haavee:
    Thanks for your reply on this thread.
    And thanks for the confirmation:  Yes, often difficult, and completely unworkable in some cases.
    To my surprise, I've been able to find very few people reporting similiar observations.  Very little about this issue at all on the web.
    I looked for command-key variations on Format --> Make Plain Text, hoping for a block action, but none I tried was any different.
    Here is my current view of the issue:
    • For formatted messages, each email client operates differently.  If there is a standard it seems to be no more robust than "use simple HTML for formatted messages".
    • The "can't insert" issue, as well as those mysterious rectangle-surrounded blocks, seems very correlated with the presence of html <div> sections in the message.  It is awkward to experiment, so I've only done a limited amount.  My observations so far:
    -- I don't think you can insert text anywhere "inside" a <div>, and mail.app seems to treat <div> as a "sticky" attribute -- e.g/ very difficult/impossible to remove without deleting the text inside.  The copy-style method doesn't seem to affect <div> tags.
    -- Based on one case, it appears that message bodies composed of back-to-back <div> sections are impervious to inserts anywhere. (The email client used by one particular person with whom I've corresponded seems to build messages out of --you guessed it-- back-to-back <div> sections. Putting on my HTML coders hat -- I cannot see any sense at all in doing this. Smells to me like a kludge/hack, as you prefer.)
    • What about an applicable mail.app add-in?  I can find mail.app add-ins, but it seems the  mail.app tech info (API) isn't public, so those that exist are based on guesswork about how it works. This means that add-ins must be re-tooled possibly for each new version of mail.app. Altogether, not encouraging for add-in developers. And, yes, consistent with that the range of functionality I've seen is rather limited.  So, I've given up looking in the add-in category.
    • Applescript has commands for controlling mail.app generally, but I didn't see anything approaching the level of function necessary to remove <divs> by global search-and-replace. (I'm far from an Applescript expert, so it is very possible I missed something.) Nor did I see any general command such as Clean up dodgy HTML in message.  (I can dream!)
    The only bit of progress I've had is finding TextSoap: http://www.unmarked.com/textsoap/ which may have promise. But I have had no time to evaluate it and it may be a month or so before I get a chance to check it out.
    Looking at the upper right of the window in which I'm composing this message, there's a button "HTML" that lets me see --and edit-- the underlying HTML. On first glance, there's not enough functionality to, say, efficiently clean up all insert-resistant blocks in a message, but it looks practical to clean up individual blocks, and maybe that's all it would take.    Though I imagine that the user base for these forums is not very different from that of mail.app, I'm guessing adding this function to mail.app isn't even a dim possibity.  Oh, well...
    I note you are happy with your solution, so I'll try see if a variation of it might help me.
    Thanks,
    h.2

  • How to read fields from response message in send step in BPM

    Hi ,
    I have one  BPM scenario where I am using synchronous send step to insert data into database and to get response back from database as success or failure .My scenario involves inserting data into multiple tables and in multiple rows . If all the inserts are successful then I want to write success message  else I want the messaage as error . So can we read all the  SQL response and store it in container varibale and the have soem decision logic ?

    Hi,
    for everyinsertion, you will get a response
    <INSERT_COUNT> </INSERT_COUNT>
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/2e/96fd3f2d14e869e10000000a155106/content.htm
    if the value ==1 , then insertions is sucessful, if value ==0, then insertion not succsful.
    So, in your mapping, just check if any of the values is 0 and if yes, then decide if you have to write a sucess message or a failure message.

  • BPM synchronous send step - Fault message extraction

    Hello Experts,
    I am developing a BPM with Asynch RFC -> synch Webservice -> Asynch RFC scenario.
    I have defined fault message in the synchronous interface used in the send step for web service, and also defined
    exception branch where an alert is thrown.
    In the alert, i want to send the fault text from the fault message. How can i do that??
    Thanks

    Hi Mona,
    SOAP adapter doesnt support fault messages.
    check stephan's reply @ How catch the SOAP Fault Message ?
    > SOAP adapter does not support fault message.
    > Any fault is treated as error.
    > fault messages are only supported for XI messages (ABAP or Java proxies) and RFCs.
    Fault message handling is not possible inside BPM.

  • BPM handle empty message in send step

    Hi, Friends:
    I have a following BPM sceario(PI7.1 EHP1)
    It mainly has following steps:
    Receive -> Transformation (Multi-Mapping) -> Fork (4 branches: one send step each branch)
    The multi-mapping result is to generate 4 types of messages based on logic.
    Sometimes all 4 types of message generated, and sometimes only one type of message generated.
    When there is a message not generated, the send step generate error which is not caught in exception branch.
    I searched forum, so far not lucky to find solution.
    Any idea how to  handle empty message (do not send it) in send step?

  • BPM send step not executed in BPM (after Message split)

    Hello everybody,
    we use BPM:
    We have a paralell Block which should send the rows of a multiline element. In SXMB_BPE_MONI the send step is not executed?
    Any idea?
    Thanks  lot, regards Mario

    HI,
    Go to SXMB_MONI_BPE->and check the workflow log (technical details).and go to SXI_CACHE and check the return code of the Integration Process. It should be zero. If not try to activate the same
    If there is no error then go with like this-
    Also check the Syntax in Integration Repository with F7. Change the IP and activate it. If there is no syntax errors.
    Then reimport the IP into Directory and then test your scenario

  • Missing sender information in message from BPM send step

    Hi All,
    I am testing a scenario uses Integration Process. This Integration process sends out a async message from deadline branch, but this message has empty sender service.
    Am I missing something in configuration? Please let me know how can i configure it.
    Regards,

    Hi,
    I chk my RD, ID and Receiver agreement and everything seems to be good.
    My Integration process bellow,
    1-Receive Step
    2-Send Step(with ACK)
    3-Deadline Brach(includes a Tranformation step and then it sends out a async message).
    This message that sends the tranformation step, is missing the sender service information.
    Is important that you know, that this tranformation step, have an empty message as source message.
    I fill the target message with constant values and then send it with a send step.
    I have tested the IM and it worked fine.

  • Error Handling in BPM - Send Step

    Hello,
    I would like to implement the following two error handlers using BPM:
    1. There is a send step which sends a message to an HTTP receiver. If the HTTP server is down I would like to add 3 retries and just in case after the third retry fails there should be an error Email sent. So I am wondering whether a communication error (which happens in the HTTP receiver communication channel) is delivered back to the process engine so that it can be handled using BPM.
    2. I also need to apply a validation using XML schema. So if validation fails the error should also be returned to the process engine so that it can be handled in the integration process.
    Are those two requirement possible as described (returning communication and validation errors)? Or do I have to follow another approach?
    Thank you very much!

    Hi Florian,
    >>2. When I activate transport acknowledgement and there is an error in XML validation outbound channel request I get an system error acknowledgement back however the error branch is NOT taken either!
    Correct send step using transport acknowledgment will check whether the message was transmitted or not
    Check this link http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/EN/43/65ce41ae343e2be10000000a1553f6/content.htm
    >>3. And NOW it gets interesting: When I simulate step 2 again an cancel the error message afterwards then the error branch is taken! Not very useful in my opinion if error messages have to be canceled first. The error branch seems to be pretty useless for me in case of asynchronous send steps.
    Again when you cancelled the message it was not received successfully by the receiver system and hence it raised exception (as mentioned in the Exception of send step.)
    I will suggest you to try using Application Acknowledgment in send step. Also If you provide the steps of BPM then it will be more helpful.
    Also have a look at this :
    Asynchronous send step can raise exception only when
    1. Thrown when a permanent system error occurs:
    a. In the case of an asynchronous send step, the exception will only be triggered if an error occurs during the transfer to the pipeline. Errors that occur during mapping in the pipeline, do not trigger an exception.
    b . In the case of a synchronous send step, the exception is also triggered by permanent system errors that occur in the pipeline or while transporting the message to or from the pipeline.

  • Using BPM (Blocks) when Incoming message has multilple rows

    Hi All,
    I am using BPM in my scenario.I have a message with multiple rows coming.I want to check for a condition for each row of the incoming message.I am trying to use a block(Mode: For Each) and using a switch step inside this block.But in a block if u want to check for each line, we need to define a multiline container element as Source Interface message.Since I am already having multilple rows, I cannot give multiline option.Can someone give me some example scenarios where this type of scenarios are handled.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Soumya

    Hi,
    Here I am picking a file with multiple rows
    The Sender Message Type structure is
    <ns:File_MT xmlns:ns="http://File/send">
      <recordset>
        <Slno />
        <Goods_Receipt_Date />
        <Material_Code />
        <Quantity />
        <Plant_Code />
        <Storage_loc />
        <Batch_Number />
        <PO_Number />
        <Item_Number />
        <Special_Stock_Indicator />
      </recordset>
    </ns:File_MT>
    Here the row recordset has multiple occurences.
    For my BPM I have defined an Abstract Message Interface of similar structure.
    1)I am using a receive step to receive the message.
    2)I am using a transformation step for structure change.
    3)Then I have to check a condition whether each of the fields, ie material number,plant code etc are null or not.
    I am using a switch for that.In the switch I have 2 branches-for error records and correct records.
    Now in the eror record branch, I want to append error records to a container using a container operation and finally send it to another system.
    Since my Source message is already having multilple rows.ie 0...unbounded for recorset, I can't define a multiline for container operation.The container operation expects a multiline container element when using append statement.
    How should I go about this?Should I define a Loop after the transformation step?
    Can you give me any example scenarios where transformation steps are used to change a source message with mutilple rows are used?I referred the FlightBooking Example, http://sap.com/xi/XI/Demo/Agency-SplitMultiplebookingOrder but in that they are not using the MessageTypes which are already defined, in the mapping.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Soumya.
