HCM P&F: No check during send step

Hi,
I am working with HCM P&F on EhP3 and facing the following problem with checks during the send step of my form, standard process HR_PA_XX_TRANSFER_2:
1) Lets assume that I want to change PERNR 007. I open the form and press "Check and Send". At the same time somebody else is working on PERNR 007 via transaction PA30. I get an error message that "Personnel number 007 could not be locked. Person is already being processed by Dr. No". I am not getting forward in the process and the step remains "Check and Send". This is correct and the way I expect it to work.
2) Now let assume again that I want to change PERNR 007. I open the form and press "Check and Send". Nobody is working on PERNR 007 and the process is moved to step "Send". Now somebody opens PERNR 007 via transaction PA30. I press "Send" and I get a message that the "process was successfully completed". However, looking into the backend no changes have been made and in the application I see .... "Personnel number 007 could not be locked. Person is already being processed by Dr. No". The problem is that the process has been completed and I can therefore not reprocess it!
Does anybody understand the logic behind this? Any solution to the problem? Is it because there is a missing lock after pressing "Check and Send" or is it a missing check during the "Send" step?
Thanks.

Ensure that the program exit CL_HRASR00_POBJ_WF_EXIT is maintained correctly at each interactive workflow task.
If the issue persist please describe the configuration with screenshots.

  • BPM: incoming messages disappear during send step

    Hi,
I want to implement a message aggregation with the bpm tool.
For this reason incoming asynchronous messages should be collected and at the expiration of a time limit bundled and send synchronous. This synchronous phase takes ~40 sec.
Incoming (asynchronous) messages during the (synchronous) send step disappear.
SXMB_MONI: The status of the incoming message is "message scheduled on outbound side". The click on "Technical Outbound Channel" gives a popup "There are no workflows that have already worked with this object".
Once the synchronous send step is finished the status becomes "Message successful on outbound side" and the click is going to the workflow log (only one log for all messages). There is no entry for that message.
This happens both if a receiving step is active and if not.

    Hi, Abhishek:
The reason to use Fork is that all the branches can be reached.
By using switch, it only judge one input value and only one condition turns true.
Actually in most cases, the number of my input value is more than one, saying two or more message types generated.
And this is not multi-line situaion, because the messages generated are different types.
Your reply remind me to add switch inside fork.

  • HCM P&F: Check and Send won't update back end fields?

    Hi All,
Here is my issue:  I have a field that is not editable on the screen - we manipulate it using a generic service that is called when the user presses a button.
Of course, as we know, all services are called every time 1 service is called, so it ALSO gets called at check and send.
This would be fine, except P&F appears to not actually change the field value at check and send.
So for instance - I click the button and it puts a value of 1.05 in the field.  Great - works fine.
If I don't click the button and instead only click check & send - I can see in debugger that it is doing the calculation and putting the correct value in the service_datasets table, but when the form loads the value is not updated on the screen and it is not passed to the next step.
Should check and send manipulate that value?  If not, is there a way to force the user event to be called?  Sadly, I can't set the field as required, because the required check passes before P&F ignores the new value...
Alternatively, I suppose if there were a way to know the difference between check & send and a user event in the code, that would be good enough.

"Check" should change it just like your User Event does. Is your User Event set to do "check" operation too or is it doing "initialize"? That might be a difference. But yes....the check/send should be changing it on the form to reflect the new value. I do it all the time (for example, in on of my processes right now I have a table of wage types and when the user adds a new wage type to the table, another field is triggered that shows the calculated annual salary in an non-edit form field.....same kinda idea as you are trying).

  • Error Handling in BPM - Send Step

    Hello,
I would like to implement the following two error handlers using BPM:
    1. There is a send step which sends a message to an HTTP receiver. If the HTTP server is down I would like to add 3 retries and just in case after the third retry fails there should be an error Email sent. So I am wondering whether a communication error (which happens in the HTTP receiver communication channel) is delivered back to the process engine so that it can be handled using BPM.
    2. I also need to apply a validation using XML schema. So if validation fails the error should also be returned to the process engine so that it can be handled in the integration process.
Are those two requirement possible as described (returning communication and validation errors)? Or do I have to follow another approach?
    Thank you very much!

    Hi Florian,
    >>2. When I activate transport acknowledgement and there is an error in XML validation outbound channel request I get an system error acknowledgement back however the error branch is NOT taken either!
Correct send step using transport acknowledgment will check whether the message was transmitted or not
    Check this link http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/EN/43/65ce41ae343e2be10000000a1553f6/content.htm
    >>3. And NOW it gets interesting: When I simulate step 2 again an cancel the error message afterwards then the error branch is taken! Not very useful in my opinion if error messages have to be canceled first. The error branch seems to be pretty useless for me in case of asynchronous send steps.
Again when you cancelled the message it was not received successfully by the receiver system and hence it raised exception (as mentioned in the Exception of send step.)
I will suggest you to try using Application Acknowledgment in send step. Also If you provide the steps of BPM then it will be more helpful.
Also have a look at this :
Asynchronous send step can raise exception only when
    1. Thrown when a permanent system error occurs:
    a. In the case of an asynchronous send step, the exception will only be triggered if an error occurs during the transfer to the pipeline. Errors that occur during mapping in the pipeline, do not trigger an exception.
b . In the case of a synchronous send step, the exception is also triggered by permanent system errors that occur in the pipeline or while transporting the message to or from the pipeline.

  • Availability check during reservation - MM

    Hi Gurus,
We need to do availability check during the creation of reservation. The check to be made is like this,
The reservation quantity should  be lesser or equal to sum of unrestricted stock plus all other open reservations.
If the above condition fails, issue an error message and not allow to create reservation.
I did create new checking rule, checking group and checked the required (may be missing something here) objects to be checked in config, but I still able to create reservation. No error message is displayed.
Gurus, could you send me a step by step for availability check? Also, need to issue a custom error message.
    Thanks for your help.
    Regards,
    Sundar.

    Hi
    Go to transaction OMB1, there you will four options;
    1. Movement Type
    2. Checking Rule
    3. Define Checking Rule
    4. Transaction Code
Go to Movement Type & put Dynamic Availabilty Check either "B" or "F" against the movement type you want.
& accordingly go to  checking rule & then go to Define Checking Rule of yours.
& then go to Transaction Code & the created Checking Rule to the Transaction Code MB21 & MB22.
    Hope this solves your problem.
    Reward points if useful.

  • Outlook 2007 stops during Send/Recieve

Most of the threads I've read imply Outlook stops and needs system reboot to go again.
MY problem is Outlook just stops during Send/Receive - but it DOES start again after Receive is completed.   It appears Outlook is working in the foreground and won't allow anything else to run while it downloads.  Cannot open any other Outlook
    function while Receive is processing
IS THERE A WAY to run Outlook in a background mode ?
    Any other ideas ?

  • BPM send step not executed in BPM (after Message split)

    Hello everybody,
    we use BPM:
We have a paralell Block which should send the rows of a multiline element. In SXMB_BPE_MONI the send step is not executed?
    Any idea?
    Thanks  lot, regards Mario

    HI,
Go to SXMB_MONI_BPE->and check the workflow log (technical details).and go to SXI_CACHE and check the return code of the Integration Process. It should be zero. If not try to activate the same
If there is no error then go with like this-
Also check the Syntax in Integration Repository with F7. Change the IP and activate it. If there is no syntax errors.
Then reimport the IP into Directory and then test your scenario

    Hi
I am working on HCM Process n Form, It has integration of Webdynpro, Adobe and Process Forms.
We can Create and Modify the position in this applications, There is also option for Saving it as Draft and then Opening it and sending it.
But now when we save it as Draft and try to open it opens the component which has adobe integrated to it but the buttons "Check and Send" and close are not appearing.
There is an dynamic table populated in a popup and by clicking that link it opens the adobe form in a WDA component window.
I am not able to figure it out which component it is and how it is done.
By click of link an action is written which finally fires a plug, The details of this plug i cant find in Windows.
The main component which opens the pop up is POBJ_BROWSER There is no used Components in this Component apart from ALV Table and SELECT OPTIONS

I am trying to upgrade EPM 8.9(8.49.23) to EPM 9.1 (8.53.08). During dataconversion step the AE process finished succssfully in few seconds. When i see the log it says "There are no conversions to run for upgrade path PF89 (18028,10003)". Please let me know why it didnt do any conversion. Am i missing something?

yes, that app engine didnt inserted any rows. So now when i tried to drill down i found that there was no data in the "new demo" database on table UPG_DATACONV. That is the reason for all this.
When i applied required for upgrade patch in demo it said couple of patch already exists so those update i skipped. Now when i check upd877654 has a step which imports the data in this table. my change assistant told that the update is already available in my demo so i skipped. Now i am not sure what to do.
I tried reimporting the data and running the analyzer again. But worried that there can be any issues due to this.

  • "System copy stops in "check DDIC password"  step

    Hi,
    We performed a combined upgrade/unicode conversion to ECC5.0 Non-Unicode to ECC 6.0 Unicode ( Windows 2003 Server, Oracle 10gR2 ).
But at the end of import ( using R3load tool ), the import stops at "check DDIC password"  step  with error message :
"Test logon to SAP System D12 failed.
SOLUTION: Make sure that the system is started, that the user DDIC exists and that the password of user DDIC is correct."
We checked the system, it's online , and the user DDIC exists. But we could not logon using sapgui. it gives message :
    "Programm SAPMS380 not found"
    If any one could help
    thank you

    Hi,
The possible problem for the DDIC user could be, once the data imported the password of the DDIC got reset to older password as in ECC5, try login the system with sap* user and reset the password of DDIC, then login  as DDIC user and set the password permannetly and retry the activity.
If sap* also shows with same problem try changing the password of sap* from DB level by executing the query(you can find solutions for this in SDN forum threads, check them). or try deleting the user sap* and recreate where user gets creted wiuth default pasword  as "PASS" and logon and reset the user DDIC.

  • Hard Check During Delivery Creation

    Hello Experts,
Need your advice. I am stuck up in a enhancement issue during delivery creation. i am working for passenger vehicle company.
    Back ground Info.
the company procures chassis from vendor & builds bus body over it. there are various types of chassis & each is uniquely identified in SAP by Material No. & also mentioned in BOM created for bus. when chassis is received , equipment is created using T-code IE01. After this one more equipment is created for bus which is called BBD Serial No. The equipment for BBD serial no holds chassis serial no. My issue is at the time of creation of delivery using T-code VL01N the user puts the BBD Serial No manually in a dialog box provided, This BBD Serial No is not capturing in the importing structure IT_XLIPS of BADI "LE_SHP_DELIVERY_PROC" Method "Delivery_Final_Check".
I have to put a check during delivery creation for consumption of Chassis , if the Chassis is consumed during production phase a Mat Doc will be generated with movement Type 261. As such we don't knew the Mat Doc for Chassis Serial no Consumed during prod phase. so to derive chassis no in the BADI against which we have to check for it's consumption. The user provide BBD Serial no in a standard dialog box in VL01N.
Can we use Field Exit for this or any other BADI Should work.
    Best Regards
    Priyesh Shah

    Hi Priyesh,
Below steps may help you to get the value of the standard dialog box provided in the screen.
    1. Find the field name of the standard dialog box provided in the the screen for BBD Serial no.
    2. Implement below code in the BAdI "LE_SHP_DELIVERY_PROC" method.
    FIELD-SYMBOLS: <fs> TYPE BBDFIELDTYPE.
    ASSIGN ('(SAPMV50A)BBDFIELDNAME') TO <fs>.
Now the field symbol <fs> will hold the value passed in the dialog box.
Please try and let me know if it is working or not.
    Thanks

  • Sync send step in a loop step

    Hi Gurus,
I want to query a database and based on the return value I will proceed to the next step. For this I have a 'sync send' step where I am finding if the count(*) is 0 or greater than 0. If it is only '0' then only I will proceed to the next step.
For this functionality I am using a loop step with in which I have this sync send step (querying the database). The control will come out of the loop only when the count is 0.
But, I found that the response message container is not loading. That is the reason why the loop condition is always coming out as 'true'.
I want to know if I can use the send step with in a loop in BPM.
Please let me know your solutions.
    Thanks
    Kalyan

    Hi,
see the counter variable , initial value is 0 ,then the loop always true.
second thing is when you send the request for synchronously and the response message to receive step, is it correct,
if so why do you want to maintain the loop, are more messages sending the messages in seqencially /syncrounously .
I think you want to check the response interface value is it , check this correctly..
See the below links for Sync Send .

  • Send Step RFC Problem

I have a Send Step in a BPM that must execute (Sync) a FM to create a notice and return the number, via Monitor I am not see the execution of the FM only the previous Receiver Step and the next Async Send Step, but via Workflow Log I can see the Sync Send Step as "Step Completed", in the Step Configuration I have the following:
    Synchronous Interface: mi_as_avisoEst
    Request Message: mi_aa_avisoEst
    Response Message: mi_aa_avisoEst
I am using the same Abstract Async Interface.
    No correlations.
    Any ideas?

If it's working as it should and the only issue is that you can't see the synchronous messages in SXMB_MONI, go to SXMB_ADM -> Integration Engine Configuration -> Specific Configuration and set parameter LOGGING_SYNC with value '1' (default is '0').
    Check /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/05/10/xi-i-cannot-see-some-of-my-messages-in-the-sxmbmoni for more details.

    Henrique.

  • BPM error at send step

    hi experts,
In a simple File to File using BPM Scenario, messages are processed up to send step (only 2 steps are there recv and send). The receive side is okay. i can monitor the messages that are being picked up in the monitor. In adapter both sender and receiver adapters are showing green.
How to trouble shoot inside BPM errors; i tried SXMB_MONI -> selected PE from the message -> chose graphical description, where it shows red and an error in the send step.
the SXMB_MONI shows error in outbound message side.  and the pipeline stops at Call Adapter.
    thanks in advance,
    nikhil
    Happy 2008

    hi Farooq!!
    Others are working.
see, this is a simple scenario File BPM File and it uses simple message type and interface too. The interface mapping working fine. The Integration Process uses no correlations, just transferring the file as it is. IP is checked(F7) no errors found. when running, it picking the file and upto call Adapter it is working. in the SXMB_Moni it shows error in the outbound (PE) status. When we check it in the WorkFlow diagram, it shows error in the send step as Adapter Framework Server, still other scenarios are working fine with the BPM.
please leave good suggestions and checks
    thanks,
    nikhil

I am trying to send a query and get data from a table in this step. I have an abstract synchronous interface attached to this step and I have an inbound synchronous interface at the configuration side as the receiver for the BPM sync. interface.
The errored out interface is the abstract interface used as the response message at the BPM sync step.
Does anyone has encountered this before?
