BPM Interactive Component Call Using PAPI

Hi All
Are there any API's in PAPI which can process a BPM Object Interactive call . We use a JSP presentation for this.
Thanks

Hi,
I'm using Solaris SPARC with Weblogic 10.3.3 for Oracle BPM Enterprise 10.3.2. I have the following error

Based on Oracle BPM Interoperability Matrix here http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bpm/documentation/obpm-config-matrix-085247.html#bpmewl1032
the Oracle BPM Enterprise 10.3.2 can use Weblogic 10.3.3.
Can anyone help?

  • Asynchronous RFC calling using BPM

    Hi to all,
    I have this scenario:
    FILE -> XI -> RFC -> XI
    I want to use the BPM to do this, thus I have built this BPM:
    START -> RECEIVE -> BLOCK1(SEND) -> BLOCK1(RECEIVE) -> STOP
    My problem is that I want to use an asynchronous scenario and, thus, when XI sends message to RFC, BPM seems to become inactive and the BPM is not able to receive the RFC Response. How can I solve this problem? How can I mantain BPM active to receive the RFC Response?
    Thanks to all!

    Hey,
    I suppose you are trying to do a similar senario
    The scenario must be executed asynchronously, but there needs to be an automatic confirmation that the business data was successfully processed (this would be the equivalent of an applicationacknowledgement). Cross-component BPM (ccBPM) will be used to process the confirmation message.
    How To… Use BAPI wrappers in asynchronous scenarios with ccBPM

  • Cross-component: Call method of using component from within used component?

    Hi,
    I began diving into cross-component programming.
    Meanwhile after having digged into some scenarios some questions came up to my mind that I am not able to answer myself. I would appreciate your help here!
    Say we have to components.  Comp A uses Comp B (hence, B is a component usage in A)
    1) How to make them communicate not on a data level (via context binding) but on a process level, thus...
    a) can I call A's method from within B? How is the approach on a general level? - as B can be used from totally different components (like A, A1, A2 ...)
    b) perhaps the only way to do this is by firing events? If so, how can I react in A when an event in B (marked as interface event) gets fired? As it seems they do not get registered within A directly...
    I guess the question seems to be a bit tricky. Nevertheless, I think there will be plenty of you out there who used to asked them the same questions before and came up with an approach. Would be nice to hear from you.
    Best wishes,
    Marc @sap1

    Hi,
    thanks for your reply!
    Indeed, I think the nature of WDA would be just to somehow map the context from the used component to the other back and forth.
    Nevertheless, what if I would like to invoke a method of the using component from inside the used component.
    One sample for this requirement could be e.g.:
    Component B offers a tree item and a send/verify button.
    Component A uses B and has some restraints regarding what the selection should look like.
    The user taps the button in B (at runtime in the view container of A), the context gets updated in A and B and in Component A the verifyWithOwnConstraints() method gets called (through B).
    Thanks again,
    Marc

  • What is the interaction between calling VIs and subVIs using VI Server?

    I'm studying for the CLAD and one of the lines in NI's preparation document here is this:
    What is the interaction between calling VIs and subVIs using VI Server?
    I know how to use the "Call By Reference" function to call a VI, but not necessarily a subVI. I thought a subVI is always loaded with the calling VI and has nothing to do with VI Server. What am I missing?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi Bmihura,
    I think this article will clear up how the VI Server works with subVIs called dynamically or statically.

  • How to terminate Correlation using Papi Call in Java

    Hi ,
    I have process processP1 in which there is a automatic activity A1, within this activity I am creating a correlation with the combination of customer_id and loan_id.
    Correlation.initiate(name : CORRELATION_NAME, values : { customer_id, loan_id });
    After that, there is a subprocess processP2, after the instance is prcessed completely in processP2, I have another automatic activity A2 in processP1 , I am terminating the correlation .
    Correlation.terminate(name :CORRELATION_NAME)
    One issue which I am facing is there is a instance for which a correlation was created, it failed in processP2 and was aborted. This particular instance never went to A2 the correlation was not terminated.
    Whenever the same combination of customer_id and loan_id is getting created, it is showing as duplicate entry.
    Is there a way to clear / terminate that particular correlation? Can It be done using Papi ?
    Any suggestions / advice would help.
    Thanks,

    InstanceInfo processGetInstanceByCorrelation(String processId,
    String correlationName,
    Object[] correlationValues)
    throws OperationException
    2. Notiy these instances using the method. the below method is avliable in the ProcessServiceSession calss
    processSendNotification(String targetInstanceOrProcessId,
    String activityName,
    String targetArgumentsSetName,
    Arguments notification)

    Just guessing here, but I'd suspect that you have a BPM Object that you are using in your screenflow. Inside your BPM Object you probably have a method that makes the database call. I'm assuming that you might be using Dynamic SQL in your method.
    If this is the case then make sure that this method has the property set to "Server Side".

  • Creating a new work item instance in a process using PAPI

    I'm seeing that there are a lot of questions on this forum about using Oracle BPM 10g's Java API called PAPI.
    I just uploaded a step by step document on how you could do this using JDeveloper 11. Here's the link to this document: http://www.4shared.com/file/126507332/e814a3a8/CallingPapi.html. The Oracle BPM project I used for this step-by-step document is also in this zip file. If you're curious, this also describes how to download, install and start JDeveloper 11.
    This is not formal Oracle documentation, but I know from teaching our Oracle BPM Bootcamp class that getting PAPI to work is sometimes a challenge and thought this might help. I tried to write it with the "Java Newbie" in mind so do not panic if you aren't an expert in Java (I'm sure not ?:| ).
    This is a simple example that uses most of the logic found in the PAPI documentation on http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13154_01/bpm/docs65/papi/index.html?t=modules/papi/c_Head_PAPI.html in the "Writing Your First Java PAPI Program" section of this document.
    The document provides a step-by-step description on how how to use PAPI to:
    <li> interface to processes running on an Oracle BPM Enterprise Engine using the same logic that is in the Oracle BPM PAPI documentation
    <li> interface to processes running on an Oracle BPM Studio Engine
    <li> list processes currently running on the Engine using the same logic that is in the Oracle BPM PAPI documentation
    <li> list the work item instances running on the Engine using the same logic that is in the Oracle BPM PAPI documentation
    <li> create a new work item instance in a process and pass in input argument variables to the new instance as it is created.
    Hope you find this useful,
    Dan

    Hi
    i have gone through your example. It gives good information how to connect to BPM engine through java papi client. I have followed exactly the same steps given in the PDF document. But it throws the exception on both java client side and BPM Suite.
    Steps followed :
    1. Import sampleproject.exp into Oracle BPM studio and start the BPM engine.
    2. Imported the fuegopapi-client.jar and Write the JAVA PIPA client to connect Oracle BPM Engine.
    complete example code:_
    import fuego.papi.CommunicationException;
    import fuego.papi.InstanceInfo;
    import fuego.papi.ProcessService;
    import fuego.papi.ProcessServiceSession;
    import fuego.papi.OperationException;

    I am calling an external servlet(controller) on click of an interactive activity.
    e.g
    Let my process Test is waiting at an interactive activity 'A' which on executing calls an external resource say 'TestController'. For this I had created a 'Server Configuration' in external resources and selected this configuration in Interactive Activity 'A'.
    On the 'TestController' when I able to fetch instanceId, activity name, but when I try to create Papi session I am getting exception mentioned above
    Code used for creating session is as follows
    Properties prop = new Properties();
    prop.setProperty(ProcessService.DIRECTORY_ID,"default");
    prop.setProperty(ProcessService.PROJECT_PATH,"D:/ALBPM6_Workspace/Testing");
    ProcessService processService;
    ProcessServiceSession bpmSession = null;
    try {
         processService = ProcessService.create(prop); //Exception at this line
         try {
              bpmSession = processService.createSession("test","test","localhost");
              } catch (OperationException e) {
              e.printStackTrace();
    } catch (CommunicationException e) {
         e.printStackTrace();
    Also when I run the above mentioned code by just creating a simple java program using main() it runs successfully.
    Please help me in this regard
    Thanks

    This is resolved it was the jar issue.

  • Retrieving user created variables from multiple instances using PAPI-WS

    Hi,
    I'm using PAPI-WS to retrieve a list of instances from Oracle BPM 10.3.1.0.0 using ProcessGetInstance. These are modeled as external tasks. ProcessGetInstance returns an InstanceInfoBean which has no place for user defined variables that were set when the instances were started.
    The only way to get user defined variables seems to be to iterate through the entire list and send an InstanceGetVariable request for each one. InstanceGetVariable does not seem allow more than one instance id to be specified in a call from my testing. This is very inefficient since we could easily have hundreds of instances that we're trying to display. Is there some way to get the list of instances to include the user defined variables, or to get the user defined variables for more than one instance in a single call?
    Thanks,
    Steve

    I can't reproduce the problem. This is what I see:C:\temp>javac -cp . Ttest.java

  • Problem using PAPI-WS for external process notifcation

    Hello,
    I'm trying to have an external Java application send a process notification using PAPI-WS.
    I have a process instance currently sitting at a notifcation wait step (configured to wait for an external notification) but each time I call processSendNotification I get the an unspported operation exception. I'm not even sure this is the correct ws operation to use but looking at the PAPI API reference it seemed the most likely.
    Below is a snippet from the code I'm testing this with and the corresponding output including the exception:
    for (InstanceInfoBean instance : instances.getInstances())
    String waitStep = "WaitForDelivery";
    System.out.println("-> process id = " + instance.getId());
    // find which instance are waiting on delivery

  • SQL JOIN with BPM sql component

    Hello friends.
    How to use SQL JOIN with BPM sql component?
    The tables objects are created but the joined tables belong to different sql components .
    I tried something like that, but a error "table doesn't exist" occours.
    Ex:
    for each element in
    SELECT imuImovelCd
    FROM IMOVEIS_URBANOS,
    Integracao.FGLP.IMOVEIS_PRE_EDITAIS
    WHERE IMOVEIS_URBANOS.imuImovelCd = Integracao.FGLP.IMOVEIS_PRE_EDITAIS.ipeImuCd
    AND Integracao.FGLP.IMOVEIS_PRE_EDITAIS.ipePedNr = 1
    AND Integracao.FGLP.IMOVEIS_PRE_EDITAIS.ipePedAa = 2008
    do
    extend this.imoveis using cdImovel = element.imuimovelcd,
                                  nrImovel = call(DEC_ENDERECO, codimovel : element.imuimovelcd, tipoimovel : 1)
    end

    ok, ok you are right.
    When I try use SQL Statement to make a JOIN with 2 tables on different sql objects, BPM returns "table dosn't exists".
    So.... I change my code. I dont know if this is the best way to do, but... i hope u, or everyone, can help me to do a best work.
    This code works fine.
    for each element in
    SELECT ipeImuCd
         FROM Integracao.FGLP.IMOVEIS_PRE_EDITAIS
         WHERE Integracao.FGLP.IMOVEIS_PRE_EDITAIS.ipePedNr = 1
         AND Integracao.FGLP.IMOVEIS_PRE_EDITAIS.ipePedAa = 2008
    do
         for each element2 in
              SELECT imuImovelDv
              FROM IMOVEIS_URBANOS
              WHERE imuImovelCd = element.ipeImuCd
         do
              extend this.imoveis using cdDvImovel = String(element2.imuImovelDv),
                                            cdImovel = Decimal(element.ipeImuCd),
                                            endereco = call(DEC_ENDERECO, codimovel : element.ipeImuCd, tipoimovel : 1)
         end
    end
    Thx a lot!!!

  • Workspace : Unexpected error during interactive component execution

    Hi !
    During execution, we have random events where this error appears. It appears for different field names and objects. The error code is displayed in the workspace and this is an excerpt of the workspace log.
    We have 2 workspaces using websphere. We noticed that in the past, a few times this was solved by synchronizing the nodes. I does not get fixed like that anymore.
    Any clues? this same deployed application worked in the past, it was not updated.
    THANKS,

  • How to notify a Notification Wait activity using PAPI

    I am trying to use Papi code to release an instance waiting in the notification wait activity of a process deployed in the enterprise server .... for this I am running the papi code from main method of a java class running in eclipse using the notify.send(........) method ........but when the code hits the notify.send(.......) method it is giving the following error :
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.IllegalStateException: The component must be invoked on a server-side method.

         at fuego.components.Notification.send(Notification.java:229)

    Can someone point out the error and how to resolve it ??

    Hi,
    I am a little confused with the package name of the classes and components you are invoking. If you are using the Client API PAPI, then the package name should be fuego.papi.*.
    I think you are using the internal components that should be used within a process implementation that assume running in the context of the Engine instead of a pure client application.
    Unless I am interpreting this incorrectly, you should use a client Java Application using PAPI to connect to a deployed process into an OBPM Engine.
    I would recommend you take a look at the very good introduction document that talks about PAPI, explains how to compile a program and also talks about how to write your first PAPI program client. It will also outline all the needed jar files need to include from a client application perspective. The link is: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13154_01/bpm/docs65/papi/index.html.
    You may alternatively like to check the main Oracle BPM 10gR3 Documentation page through this link: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13154_01/bpm/docs65/index.html

  • Using PAPI in a Web Service

    I am using Java PAPI code in my Web Service.. I have imported the fuegopapi-client jar in my project. I compile the program, I create a WSDL and deploy it to a server .But I get an exception when I run it. I get the following exception:-
    java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException.
    Does anybody know why is this exception..
    The same program works well with the Java PAPI code inside of a simple Java app, but gives this error in a web app.

    Yes, I could use PAPI -WS.. But directly using PAPI-WS exposes all methods inside PAPI-WS.. Or else I have to use the following code inside my web service to call only one method i.e. processCreateInstance and I think I wud get the same exception because of the JAR :-
    import java.net.MalformedURLException;
    import java.rmi.RemoteException;
    import javax.xml.rpc.ServiceException;
    import com.bea.albpm.PapiWebService.OperationException;
    public class CreateInstances {
    public static void main(String[] args) throws MalformedURLException, ServiceException, OperationException, RemoteException {
    java.net.URL url = null;
    org.apache.axis.EngineConfiguration config = null;
    com.bea.albpm.PapiWebService.PapiWebServicePortBindingStub binding = null;
    com.bea.albpm.PapiWebService.InstanceInfoBean value = null;
    //String processId = "/Proceso1";
    //String processId = "/ActividadesExternas";
    String processId = "/PAPIWS";
    String argumentsSetName = "BeginIn";
    //Binding
    //url = new java.net.URL("http", "localhost", 8686, "/papiws/PapiWebServiceEndpoint");
    url = new java.net.URL("http", "localhost", 8585, "/papiws/PapiWebServiceEndpoint");
    config = new org.apache.axis.configuration.FileProvider("client_deploy.wsdd");
    binding = (com.bea.albpm.PapiWebService.PapiWebServicePortBindingStub) new com.bea.albpm.PapiWebService.PapiWebService_ServiceLocator(config).getPapiWebServicePort(url);
    binding.setTimeout(60000);
    //Arguments
    com.bea.albpm.PapiWebService.ArgumentsBeanArgumentsEntry argumentsBeanArgumentsEntry[] = new com.bea.albpm.PapiWebService.ArgumentsBeanArgumentsEntry[1];
    argumentsBeanArgumentsEntry[0] = new com.bea.albpm.PapiWebService.ArgumentsBeanArgumentsEntry();
    argumentsBeanArgumentsEntry[0].setKey("entradaArg");
    argumentsBeanArgumentsEntry[0].setValue("Instancia creada de forma externa mediante PAPI-WS 2.0");
    com.bea.albpm.PapiWebService.ArgumentsBean argumentsBean = new com.bea.albpm.PapiWebService.ArgumentsBean(argumentsBeanArgumentsEntry);
    com.bea.albpm.PapiWebService.holders.ArgumentsBeanHolder argumentsBeanHolder = new com.bea.albpm.PapiWebService.holders.ArgumentsBeanHolder(argumentsBean);
    //Create instance
    value = binding.processCreateInstance(processId, argumentsSetName, argumentsBeanHolder);
    System.out.println("Created instance -> InstanceInfo.id = " + value.getId());
    I found this code in the forum, but I also do not know where is this JAR?

  • How to know what component call it?

    Dear experts!
       I have a problem as following: Both component BT111H_OPPT (opportunity) and BT115H_SLSO (Sales contract) call component GS_CM (Attachments) as a assignment block. In component GS_CM, the attribute FILENAME of context node VDOCUMENT has two set of value, type dropdown list, for example Droplist_01 and Droplist_02. i maintain code in method GET_V_FILENAME to supply dropdown list for attribute FILENAME. If GS_CM in component BT111H_OPPT, the attribute FILENAME only displays Droplist_01, and if GS_CM in component GT115H_SLSO, the attribute FILENAME only displays Droplist_02. So, in method GET_V_FILENAME of attribute FILENAME in component GS_CM, i must limit value depent what component (BT111H_OPPT or BT115H_SLSO) call the component GS_CM. But in method GET_V_FILENAME i do not know what component calls it. So, can i help me resolve this problem.
       Thanks for your concern!
       Longndtb.

    Hi,
    When the gscm object is created in each of the 2 components (ie opportunity and sales contract),by default an attribute of the GS-CM context node is set with the Bus object type of the calling object.
    Bus objects are object nos assigned to each of the one order objects in the backend.
    so for eg if the gscm component is called from the BT111H_OPPT,the attribute type_id of the context node CMBUSOBJ(context node in the component controller of the component GS_CM is set with the bus object type of opportunity ie 'BUS2000111'.
    and when it is called from the BT115H_SLSO component,the type_id is set with the value 'BUS2000121'.
    So in your get v method,read this attribute value of the context node  CMBUSOBJ of the comp controller .
    But you cannot directly read the comp contoller attribute in the get_v of ur attribute filename.Creat an atttribute in the VDOCUMENT context node impl class.Now in the Do prepare Output of your view impl(lets say lv_bus_object),set the value of this attribute using something like this:
    lr_comp_controller?=me->comp_controller;
    ie-> lv_bus_obj= comp_controller->typed_context->CMBUSOBJ->type_id .
    if the lv_bus_obj = 'BUS2000111',then calling component is  BT111H_OPPT
    and if  lv_bus_obj = 'BUS2000121' then calling comp is BT115H_SLSO
    In the get_v_filename ,you can do the coding by readin this attribute directly ie
    u can say: if lv_bus_obj= 'BUS2000111 then use this value,else this.
