BPR diagnosis & solution report template

Hi all:
I am doing BPR for our company, to finish the project I have to compose a final report - diagnosis & solution report.
Due to no experience for such work, can anybody provide me with a template for such kind of report? I am very keen about the structure of this report.
Points are sured if helpful information got.

Report Template dependant of PLSQLEXPRESSION

I have written a report template to vary a column format depending on a PLSQL Expression.
I want to have an expression like this in the 'Column Template 1 Expression' box.
MY_LIB.fIndicatorStateChange(1,#COLUMN_VALUE#)
or
MY_LIB.fIndicatorStateChange(1,v('#COLUMN_VALUE#'))
or
MY_LIB.fIndicatorStateChange(1,&COLUMN_VALUE.)
in all cases the second parameter comes up as NULL in the package.
I am using HTML version 1.6.
Can anyone help.

I am using the solution to embed the code in my report to change the font color based on some condition. It works great when my region type is SQL Query but it does not work when my region type is PL/SQL Funciton Body Returning SQL Query.
Here is a snippet of the code:

When I do this using a PL/SQL Function body with the q:=q||q'! SELECT... Syntax I get the following error message:
"ORA-20001: Unable to bind :RED verify length of item is 30 bytes or less. Use v() syntax to reference items longer than 30 bytes. ORA-01006: bind variable does not exist."
It looks like it thinks the :RED is a find variable but it isn't. Does anyone know of a way to fix this?
(I also tried using decode instead of case and I still got the same error)

An error occured while generating a new report template

I have installed the Crystal Reports 2008 V2 and also the support pack. Installed the SAP Integration Kit XI 3.1 and the latest service pack 2.7. When I try to use the SAP Tool bar from Crystal Report , I can connect/see the queries but when I select any query to create a report I am getting an error message
"An error occured while generating a new report template". Any advise ? How do I turn on the trace in the client ?

Here is solution for Client...
To turn tracing on for client applications, you can use the following steps:
1. Click Start > Settings > Control Panel > System > Advanced > Environment Variables button.
2. Under the User Variables, add the following variable and value:
For Enterprise XI:
Variable Name: BOE_LOGGER_ENVIRONMENT
Variable Value: -trace -loggingPath c:\logs
For Crystal Analysis, Crystal Enterprise, and Crystal Reports version 10 and earlier:
Variable Name: CRYSTAL_LOGGER_ENVIRONMENT
Variable Value: -trace -loggingPath c:\logging

Though we dont have a crystal Report for what you are looking at but I think our add-on Bank Reconciliation Inquiry would be a helpful tool. The add-on has a screen with some fields like GL Bank Account, Statement No, Statement Date and lower half is bifurcated into two sections column wise which shows in Section 1

EHS-Error while editing Report template

Hi Gurus
I am getting a vague error while trying to cancel release of existing report template. I need to edit the same. Hence i am cancelling the release. Please let me know if any of you have got this error before and how did you solve it?. Also i have done changes in Dev and QA. But i get this error only in prod.
The error details are as below.
Unable to write log record for document 1
version 00
"Unable to write log record for document 1050010 version 00"
    Message no. C$760
Diagnosis
    You attempted to change the status of a document. The system creates a
    log record for this activity. However, the system was unable to create
    this log entry.

Expense Report Template -Accounts code not appearing when imported to AP

Hi Gurus,
I defined Expense Report Template for OU1, and for the courier expense i defined account code as 01-110-7410-00 ( Co-Dept-Courier Expns-IC)etc. with expense type as courier.
But when i submitted Expense Report using the same template and when imported to AP,accounts codes are 01-101-7610-00(Co-Dept-Salary-IC). Its totally wrong iaccounting treatment. This wrong acount codes came from HR whch assigned in Asssignment for Purchase Order Information.
Please provide your suggestions.

Change Preferred Viewing Locale by a paramter field in the report template

Hello,
Is there a method that allows to change the Preferred Viewing Locale at the report template level?
Actually I have some templates for final clients in different countries, and these reports should be generated in Infoview.
In order to generate reports in different languages, I inserted a parameter {?Language}
Then for caption/text I used a formula like this
Select {?Language}
Case "en_US": .....
Case "de_CH": .....
Case "it_IT": .....
Case "nl_BE": .....
However this won't work for date axis in charts and number formats.
So I switched to Preferred Viewing Locale settings, which seemed to be exactly what I wanted cause everything can be changed according to the local settings, except that I need to change the setting every time by selecting View - Preferred Viewing Locale - German - (Germany)... for 20 different reports
And what's more important is that I cannot change this setting when I launch the template in Infoview. Change in Preferences will impact all the templates while I just need change on one template only.
I had a look on all the functions available and it seems that ContentLocale function can only display the current setting.
Is there any solutions?

Crystal Reports Templates usage - SAP BW MDX query data

How are you?
I am experiencing issues with crystal reports when trying to use crystal reports templates with SAP BW data.
I have successfully created Crystal Report using SAP BW data with NodeID, ParentNodeID hierarchy, Crystal Hierarchical Grouping.
Also developed Xcelsius Dashboard using Live Office --> Crystal Report (SAP BW data) with refresh data on open.
Now trying to create a template for new crystal reports to be designedu2026
The following are observed by me:
1. When I create a crystal report using Report Wizard and select templates from the list shown, the following error displayed for SAP BW data:
2. When I try to apply template using Template Expert and selecting the report which is created using SAP BW data (and formatted), the following error displayed:

I would like to know, whether there are known issues with Crystal Reports Templates using SAP BW data? If so, could you suggest any solutions/work around to this issue?

I tried the following three methods:
1. Applied all the 12 Crystal Templates
2. Applied my own reports as Template
3. Also applied Crystal Report developed using Templates Fileds.
None of the above is working.
Created a report with BW query data and try to apply all the above templates but the same issue.
If I create a report using eFashion universe and apply all the above works without any problem.
I do agree with you that templates should not depend on the data source, as it is mainly for the common/standard report page layout (to reuse)...
Could you pl. check at your end and let me know the results.

This error has already been reported to SAP Support earlier also. It happens with SalesTaxRegister.ixr also and here is the solution for it :
Whenever the Xlreport "SalesTaxRegister.ixr" is executed from
XLReporter the error "Error in expansion" appears.
This error occurs because the report references two fields which do not
exist in the metadata.
Note: SalesTaxRegister.ixr is provided by SAP for Indian localisation.
To correct this problem, follow these steps:
1. Open the report definition in Excel.
2. Click menu 'Format > Column > Unhide' to unhide all columns. This
will make columns A to AC visible.
3. Delete the content in cells O15 and O25 (PO4_NonDdctPrc).
4. Hide columns A to AC again and save the report.
5. Try to run the report again.
The above solution will work for SalesTaxRegister.ixr report.
For the customized report which the partner must have
created, there would be some similar references that do not exist
in the metadata. Once these references are deleted the report will work
again.

Modifying Default Report Templates

APEX v3.0.1.008
I have created an application using Theme 12.Blue and am evaluating the different templates that are available out-of-the-box. The Default: Look 2 template best meets my needs in terms of layout but unfortunately has Sand colouring so I'd like to be able to customise this to change the Sand colours to Blue.
When I navigate to Shared Components -> Templates -> Report I do not get the opportunity to Copy or Modify this Template. Can someone please explain why is this the case and any workarounds to be able to modify this Report Template?

Hey Alistair,
I'm not sure how your solution solves the problem. When I go to Themes, click on my theme and look at the template for that theme, I see a bunch of different items for each type, like button, region, etc. Most of my pages simply say look at the defaults in the template and I want to change those defaults. On the template page I see some are checked as the default and I'd like to change to a different one if possible.

VO Extension Error in modifying the query of XML Publisher Report Template

When clicking on the submit button the XML Publisher template is calling and displaying the data.
Our requirement is to display some more columns in the XML Publisher Template and display the data.

Report Template href with column value

I have created a Report template and want to have a field that is a href with link to other page passing column value. I'm having trouble passing the column value. If I hard code the value the href code works. If I try to pass #1# or the column name with # surrounding the link doesn't work. Any ideas would be appreciated.
This works:

#REGION_STATIC_ID# does not work in report template for PPR

I was hoping to use the new substitution string #REGION_STATIC_ID# for a PPR report, because when we do Export/Import of the app the Region ID changes and we have to manually change the Pager Header Javascript to get the PPR to work. A real pain.
So I changed the Region template to use #REGION_STATIC_ID# and set the Static id in the region definition - this worked fine. Next, I modified the Report template for PPR to use #REGION_STATIC_ID#, but at runtime this resolves to a blank! I assumed it would pick up the static ID for the region it was in. Is this a bug or am I just not understanding the way it is supposed to work?

#REGION_STATIC_ID# is available in some places in the report template. But the PPR javascript uses the APEX engine created ID get into the fast track report engine so it's not going to work that way.
But you can still do what you want to do what you want to do. Use the #REGION_STATIC_ID# in your region say something like this #REGION_STATIC_ID#_body the use the javascript to get that element and then use that element
along with getElementsByClass(searchClass,node,tag)
http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=38704:2:::NO::P2_ID1:22
to grab the report table and then it's ID which you can then feed into your javascript. It will only be 2-3 more lines of javascript.
