BRFplus in Tax and Revenue Management

Hi Experts,
As BRFplus comes as a replacement of BRF, I would like to know on the configuration side of BRF in ECC 6.0 that involved Tax returns. How does BRFplus replace BRF in terms of Forms Processing, for Example creation of Form Bundle Type, assigning BRF event to Revenue Type??
Thank you in advance.
Rgds,
TM

Hi Tush,
In TRM EhP5 one of the new features we offer, among many others, is to use BRF+ as your rule engine and the Form Bundle Type concept to process form based taxes. The configuration for using BRF+ is done within a Form Bundle Type which is independent from the revenue types.  As the name suggests, it is simply a u2018formu2019 process. (even not definitely with u2018taxu2019 scope, e.g. subsidy, pension and etc.).
Another key feature that is only available in form bundle framework is the introduction of Activities and Variants, which allows you combine rules together for different use cases under one form bundle through IMG customizing.
Now Revenue type is an interim concept that shall not be the center point of our customizing any more. It is only necessarily used for object-based billing. Otherwise it plays an auxiliary role to the form bundle types.
Whenever you get access to a EhP5 system I would recommend you to start reviewing the SAP Test Catalog (T-code SFW5) under Business Function PSCD_TRM_AND_WITHHOLDING. There is a whole section for BRF+ and Form bundle Type configuration.
We are planning to teach the WNA520 Public Sector Tax and Revenue class within the next two months. If you get a chance you might want to take the class and learn everything about what is coming in TRM for EhP5.
Finally, I would like to mention that the TRM team has a new space in the SAP community network (sdn.sap.com) where we will start sharing more and more information about our solution. You might want to take a look to what we have today and come back in the near future for more new information.
This is the URL to access this space directly:

  • TRM - Tax and Revenue Manag.: Define forms in Public Sector Tax Assessment

    Hi Gurus,
I try to define my forms via transaction SM34 - VC_FMCA_TRM_SCENARIO. If I create a new Scenario for application T - Tax and Revenue Management (TRM). After that I create a Version, which is valid from 20110101 to 99991231. Next step is Form Views. Here should be Views: A - as field, B - as ammended, C - as calculated, etc. But no values are in table TFMCA_PHASE. And there should be standard values A, B, C, D and E. If I try to put there value A, error message occured: Entry A   does not exist in TFMCA_PHASE (check entry).
    We have EHP4 system.
    any ideas?
    thanks a lot
    Miroslav

    Hi,
there is needed to add following values in transaction SM30 - V_TFMCA_VIEWS:
    A - As filed
    B - As amended
    C - As calculated
    D - As corrected
    E - As audited
You can activate a change document here also.

  • Difference between SAP PSCD and tax and Revenue management

    Hi All,
I am new to SAP industry solutions for public sector and am actually trying to understand the new systems. Can anyone please tell me the difference between SAP PSCD and SAP Tax and Revenue management ? Please revert.
    Thanks in advance,
    Shakuntala

    Hi Shakuntala,
PSCD is an industry add-on on top of SAP ERP FI-CA (Contract Accounting), which is part of SAP ERP Core.
Tax & Revenue Management is a Public Sector industry solution, which utilizes PSCD to enable some of its key processes (e.g. account management and collection management). However, TRM as a business solution also make use of other modules and systems (e.g. CRM).
The initial development of PSCD was strongly driven by Tax&Revenue Management, therefore people usually have hard time to differentiate between the two terms. But now PSCD is also used by and enhanced for other SAP Public Sector solutions like Grantor Management or Social Services.

  • Posting taxes and revenue account seperately in invoice

    Dear Team,
As per our client requirement, they want to post taxes immediately at the time of invoice creation. However, they want the revenue recognition after some time/days of invoice creation. This is requirement of revenue recognition for aerospace industries.
Could you please suggest any possible configuration/development.
    Thanks and regards,
    Suhas

it applies to only few materials on a sales order as items
and with only 1 specific item category
This should have been posted in sales forum.
Better go with a new pricing procedure with new sales / billing document types based on which, the requirement can be met. Hope, you know the basic SD configurations like assigning pricing procedure to document type etc., based on which, system will trigger the required pricing procedure when you create a sale order.
    thanks

  • Project Management -Automatic process to approve Forecast Cost and Revenue?

    Hello,
If anyone can help me with this it would be greatly appreciated.
Due to our business requirements, we have to run the "PRC: Generate Financial Plan Amounts" program every week for 40-50 projects.
The issue with this is that after running this program we have to manually go into each project and approve the latest cost and revenue versions. Is there a program or an api that I can use to automatically approve these projects without going into each project and manually update them?
    Thank you in advanced.

    Hello,
I found a way to approve the budget costs and revenues using the PA Budget workflow. In order to kick off this workflow I still have to submit the budget costs or revenue. Is there anyway I can by pass this submission process? Is there an api I can use to submit the latest budget costs so it will kick off the workflow?
    Thanks

  • A/R Installment Payments with Sales Taxes and Freight in 1st payment

Our sales dept. wants to offer our customers Installment Payment plans (6, 12, 24 mths) for product sales which is easy enough to set up using Payment Terms and the Installment Payment flag.
But our Accounting Dept wants to collect the Sales Taxes and Freight "up front" in the first payment.
We do not want to use Milestone billing since Accounting wants to recognize the revenue of the sale during the month of the sale ... so a single Invoice to the customer with the Payment Plan printed on the invoice is the option they want done.
I have not been able to find any way to set up the Installment Plan configuration to do such a thing.  The Terms of Payment refer to the total Invoice amount.
Has anyone here be able to accomplish such configuration (without doing custom coding in a User Exit)?
Example:  $60,000 item, %5,000 tax, $100 frieght = $65,100 total invoice.  (6 month payment plan)
       Payment #1 = $15,100
       Payment #2 = $10,000
       Payment #3 = $10,000
       Payment #4 = $10,000
       Payment #5 = $10,000
       Payment #6 = $10,000

I have already set up the installment plan in OBB9 with 6 entries (1 - 6) for my IP Payment Term of IPM1.  I have the percentages setup as 16.67 for each of the installments and the last set at 16.65 (equaling 100%).
The problem with Sales Tax and Freight is that you can not simply assign an arbitrary percentage to the 1st installment (for example make the 1st installment 25% and break up the remaining 5 installments fromt he other 75%).
We need to make sure that the first Installment from the customer is for the Sales Tax, the Freight, and exactly 1/6 of the material cost (if it is a 6 month payment plan).
I have activated User Exit EXIT_SAPLV60B_007 to intercept table generation of the installment plan that is sent to Accounting to fix this problem.  Now the Accounting document connected with the customer invoice is correct.  My next step is to fix the SmartForm print of the Installment Plan on the customer's Invoice.

we have implemented training and event management in one company now for years and everything is runnig fine. We use also the SD-module to create invoices for the participants.
We now want to introduce a new training company in another country. This means we need another Country for tax determination in billing. In customizing transaction OOSS I can only assign one default country.

    Hello,
From what I recall, TEM in ESS can be configured via ITS based service iviews.
There are some services like PV3I, PV7I, PV8I etc which you can find out using tcode SICF.
The portal consultant can then create ITS based iviews for these services.
Since you are using EHP5, I think these services are now obselete. Please check further on this.
As mentioned earlier, you can go for the LSO rather than TEM.

  • Account Based COPA Cost of goods sold and Revenue Split

    Dear Experts,
We are using account based copa in a automobile company.
As per the requirement when a car is sold, depending on the customer request the car  goes for a conversion. like adding Radio, Seat cover, etc
As per our setup we have different profit centers for vehicle and Parts(radio, seat cover etc) and in this case radio, seat cover, etc are the classes of the material vehicle(not separate material).
After the vehicle conversion there is a sales order raised which goes to profit center derived from vehicle material master.
As per the reporting requirement I need to spit the Cost of good sold  and revenue by vehicle profit center and parts profit center for COPA reporting purpose
Is there any way to do this in standard SAP? Or I need an exit?
Appreciate your response and please let me know in case of any clarification.
    Many thanks

For those who may need an answer to this, our solution was the following:
    1)       Created new types for SO, SO Item, Sched. Line, Delivery, Delivery Item, Billing type
    2)       Created new Pricing procedure
    3)       Created new movement type Y61/Y62 modeled after 601/602
    4)       Mapped Y61/Y62 to account modifier ZAX.
    5)       Mapped GBB/ZAX to the new account.
Benefits, they now have better view of the orders going inter-company.  It is flexible enough to adjusting prices for intercompany separate from standard orders, even though for now it is a straight copy of cost.  They are able to remove the sales/use tax, from the calculations. They are able to plan with these orders separated out.  Plus, this will standardize their process for inter-company.
    Hope this helps someone.
    Cheers!
    Rick

  • G/L Account and Revenue Account determination

    Hi all,
What is the difference between G/L Account determination and Revenue Account determination?
    How to configure them?
    Regards,
    Ajit

    Hi,
The account keys ERL , ERS, DIFF which are related to revenue and sales deduction in your pricing procedure are defined in transaction VKOA. Here the account key, chart of accounts, your sales organization and G/L accnt combination are maintained.
Whereas all the tax codes G/L accounts get picked from transaction OB40 , So in your pricing procedure where ever you see tax account keys, make sure you go to OB40, input your tax code and then you will see all the G/L accounts against each respective account key. This is nothing but the calculation of tax on sales / purchases.
Alternatively you can check transaction FTXP based on chart of accounts and tax code which proposes automatic G/L accounts configured by FI consultants
Hope this will solve your query.
If it does, please dont forget to reward points for contribution.
    Regards
    Ravi

  • Withholding tax and Gross amount determination

    Dear all
First of all, I would like to underline that before to post in this forum I have read all the documentation (official and not official) related to the Withholding Tax configuration in SAP, but in the end I have some doubts and so I kindly ask you cooperation to better understand the logical of the system.
In our country (ITLAY) the withholding tax (WTH tax) must be withheld at the payment invoice to the vendor, so our system should automatically calculate and posts the amount to the right tax account; my question is: which setting we have to use in order to have the right calculation of the base amount?
When you enter the invoice, the system determines the base amount for withholding tax and stores it in the document (INVOICE ENTRY SIDE). You can also enter the base amount directly. When the invoice is paid, the tax amount is calculated from the base amount and your specifications for the tax code. If the tax amount is to be paid to the tax authorities, the system automatically posts the amount to the tax account. The system reduces the payment amount to the vendor by the withholding tax to be paid (INVOICE PAYMENT SIDE).
At the Invoice Entry SIDE when entering documents, if the withholding tax is to be calculated at the time payment is made, only the base amount is calculated when the invoice is posted, this is what we are looking for, so my question is:
How does the system calculate the base amount of WTH tax?
Maybe an example could be better to explain our request:
Invoice received from a Tax adviser that is liable to Withholding tax.
    1.     Invoice Total Amount                                                  1372 €
    2.     Fees (Tax Base amount and WHT Tax base amount)                         1000 €
    3.     Specific Italian Contribution     (Tax Base amount and NO WHT Tax base amount)          20 €
    4.     Social Security Contribution     (Tax Base amount and WHT Tax base amount)          40 €
    5.     Expenses reimbursement (NO Tax Base amount and NO WHT Tax base amount)          100 €
    6.     VAT Basis (point 2 + 3 + 4)                                             1060 €
    7.     VAT Amount (20%)                                                  212 €
    8.     Withholding Tax Basis (point 2 + 4)                                        1040 €
    9.     Withholding Tax Amount (20%)                                        208 €
Is it possible to manage this flow under the Invoice Verification FLOW? It means:
    1.     Issue a Purchase Order to the TAX consultant
    2.     post the GR for services
    3.     post the IR, in this step the System should calculate the WTH base amount 1040€
    4.     post the payment and the WTH TAX
    Accounting flow is:
Point 2) post the GR for services
Credit      Balance Sheet GRIR services account                                   -1040€
Debit      P&L Account for services                                             1040€
    Point 3) post the IR
            Credit      Vendor Account                                                   -1372€
Debit      Balance Sheet GRIR services account                                    1040€
                           WTH TAX BASE AMOUNT
Debit      P&L Account Expenses reimbursement                                   100€
NO TAX BASE AMOUNT AND NO WHT TAX BASE AMOUNT
Debit      P&L Account Specific Italian Contribution                                   20€
TAX BASE AMOUNT AND NO WHT TAX BASE AMOUNT
Debit     Balance Sheet Tax Account                                             212€
Point 4) post payment to the vendor
          Debit      Vendor Account                                                   1372€
Credit      Balance Sheet WTH TAX ACCOUNT                                   -208€
Credit      Balance Sheet Bank Account                                             -1164€
I have just one doubt: for the calculation of the WTH TAX base amount the system consider the amount/value of the GR, so in this case 1040€ or the system will take in consideration all the item for the VAT TAX BASE AMOUNT, so in this case 1060€?
I am asking this because I found on the SAP documentation, when it explain the Withholding Tax Type Calculation Setting:
Gross amount - The withholding tax base amount equals the line item gross amount.
Tax amount - The withholding tax base amount equals the tax amount of the line item.
I know my request is not so clear, and I have to apologize with you because it is very long, but please someone can help me
    Regards
    Marco

    thanks for all folks

  • Data Migration of Contracts with periodic billing and revenue recognition

    Hello Experts,
I am trying to develop a legacy data migration plan for Contracts with periodic billing plan and revenue recognition.
Example of the scenario is given below:
Customer signed a contract for one year starting 01/01/2009.
Customer is billed quartely, billed in advance.
    SAP going live on 04/01/2009
Customer is billed for 3 months and also for initial set up fees.
    Revenue recognition is done monthly.
We have to migrate this contract to SAP.
Billing document posting may be necessay as it affects revenue recognition which spans across the total contract period.
Any ideas how to do this?
    Thanks  A Lot
    Anil
Edited by: Anil  Jose on Sep 17, 2008 9:38 PM

    Hi Anil
How did you manage this? We also had the same problem in one of our contracts and what we did was that we copied the contracts from the legacy with the full value. That is suppose SAP went live on 1st April, 2009 and the contract was created on 1st January 2009 for a value of suppose 100 USD, with the first billing being done on 1st Jan for 33.33 USD for 4 months. We first created the contract with a validity from 1st Jan 2009 in the new system. We billed it with a billing type that we created that did not actually create new accounting entries as the accounting entries had already been created in the legacy system. In the new system then we recognised the revenue till the go live, so that the actual value remaining of the contract reduced. Then we started the billing plan of the contract from 1st of April 2009 for the remaining amount. So next invoice was created on 1st april for 33.33 USD. Can you share your solution.
    Regards
    Indranill
