BRI IN "TEI_ASSIGNED" AND MGCP

Hello,
We have tried to configure a MGCP gateway with BRI link and CCM 4.1.
The particularity of the link is that, when no calls are active, it remains in "TEI_ASSIGNED" state:
ISDN BRI0/1/0 interface
dsl 2, interface ISDN Switchtype = basic-net3
Layer 1 Status:
ACTIVE
Layer 2 Status:
TEI = 0, Ces = 1, SAPI = 0, State = TEI_ASSIGNED
Layer 3 Status:
0 Active Layer 3 Call(s)
Active dsl 2 CCBs = 0
The Free Channel Mask: 0x80000003
Due to this, MGCP configuration is not working - the CCM seems to not be able to send the call to the BRI. On the other hand, if I configure the gateway with H.323 protocol, calls progress normally.
Is there any way in MGCP configuration of forcing MULTIPLE_FRAME_ESTABLISHED in these type of links??? Thanks.

Here is a bug on this.

  • Trouble adding second port BRI in a 2801 MGCP gateway

    my config is CCM 413 with a 2801 SRST including a VIC2-2BRI .
I have configured the 2801 as MGCP gateway on the CCM, added the module VIC2-2BRI and configured the BRI 0/0/0 in this gateway.
this BRI work properly with the PSTN . I can make successfull call inbound and outbound
Now I want to add the second BRI (ie BRI 0/0/1 ) in the gateway for the same hunt group, the same PSTN provider.
When I do that this BRI can't register and make different kind of problem on the existing well working BRI.
for example I noticed that I can make inbound or outbound call with connected state but no voice in the two way.
I noticed also that the first BRI become completely blocked after two call.
I have verified the conf of the BRI 0/0/1 but i don't see any difference with the BRI 0/0/0 .
the only way to get back good working of the BRI 0/0/0 is to remove BRI 0/0/1 from the gateway conf.

    Hello,
That is a good news though. Can you please share to me the TAC case nr? So I can refer this to tAC. Because we have also opened a CASE for the same problem on the 3725 but not hear from TAC yet for the patch!
I got another image ie. IPVOICE version 12.4.1.9 from a friend that has the patch for this problem on the 2801 but there is no SPSERVICES image yet.
Now it looks that Cisco has a newer image.
    Thanks in advance.

  • ILBC and MGCP/2811/IOS15.1/PVDM2-48

We have CUCM 9.1(1)/Unity Connection 9.1(1) integrated with iLBC codec via SIP trunk from CUCM. Works fine internally.
User's 7965 rings but PSTN hears fast busy upon CFB/CFNA to voicemail.  CCM traces show transcoder being invoked (we don't have one setup, I was wanting MGCP gateway to Unity Connection to be iLBC no xcoder by design)
Doesn’t appear that my IOS15-1/2811/MGCP/PVDM2-48 can do iLBC….or do I have something wrong with my mgcp config? Everything else works great but this SIP/iLBC setup.

  • Cisco Call Manager and MGCP Question

    Hello,
I appreciate if somebody can help.
    Scenario:
    Site 1 PSTN E1----VG----Call Manager----VG--- PABX---Site 2 PSTN1 E1
I have configured a dialing pattern on Cisco call manager 6.xxxxxx to Send to VG on Site1
Both VG routers are using MGCP with call Manager.
The problem if from Site 2 tries to call 6xxxxxx the call manager is not routing the call to the VG in site 1.
I did debug ccapi inout and on Site 2 VG the call response was the number unassigned. This means that the call Manager is searching the directory for the destination but it is not searching the route patterns.
Any ideas to override this and ask the call manager to check it's destination pattern?
    Thanks,

Problem solved. The VG in Site 2 was in a CSS that is not allowed to dial PSTN.

  • ISDN BRI for Backup and remote Support

    Hello,
is it possible to configure an ISDN BRI
to use them for Backup and if no Backup is up (primary connection works)i can use
the ISDN BRI for Dialin (Remote Administration)?
My Backup Solution works fine but i do not know, how i have to configure the ISDN BRI so, that acceppt my ISDN Call for Remote Administration.
    Thanks in advance
    Lorenz

    Hi
You can configure 2 dialer interfaces one for dial in and another one for the dial out purpose.
make the 2nd dialer interface as a backup interface for your primary interface and define the floating routes accordingly..
would suggest to go thru the following link which has the whole lot of possible config scenarios discussed and it may help u out in getting the things place ..

  • Video and Voice over BRI

I'm looking to lab voice and video over a BRI connection.  At this point I've got a CallManager lab set up with a SIP endpoint(XLITE) registered to a "internal" CM7.1 publisher.  The "internal" CM and a 2821 is setup to do MGCP BRI backhauling of one of the VIC2-2BRI-NT-TE interfaces(0/0/0).  The 2821 has a BRI cross connect wire between interfaces 0/0/0 and 0/0/1.  The 2821 is also configured for H323 and has dial peers associated with BRI interface 0/0/1.  Another "pstn" CM7.1 publisher registers with the 2821 via H323.  XLITE is registered as a SIP client to the "pstn" CM.
The lab was originally setup for only voice, so the dial-peer has  "codec g711u" within it.  As well, the BRI interfaces are setup with "incoming voice".  Can voice and video be configured to go across the BRI interfaces?  Will MGCP allow setup the setup of a video call?  Does anyone have an example config?
    Thanks

"native" video over isdn is supported, but not with mgcp and not within any certification curricula.
So I think you can ignore it.
Of course you can do video over data, but the vic is a voice only card, not data.

  • CCM 6 MGCP ISDN Backhaul

I have a 2801 that has a 12 channel frac ISDN PRI on it programmed for channels 12-24. When i don't bind it to MGCP it comes up fine and the ISDN layer 2 status shows established. Whenever I have CCM takeover it switches between TEI_Assigned and Awaiting Establishment. The settings on the T1 controller on the router are
    switch-type primary-ni
    linecode: b8zs
    framing: esf
CCM underneath the T1 controller VWIC-1MFT-T1 is configured with the same 0 in the input and output gain. Clock: External framing and linecode the same and disabled echo cancellation. I have attached a picture of the other settings.
    any help is appreciated.
    Rob

Due to the ISDN PRI being fractional I would recommend that you configure the CallManager services parameters to busy out the respective channels and enable status poll under the MGCP configuration in CallManager.
This enables the Cisco Unified CallManager advanced service parameter to Change B-Channel Maintenance Status. This service parameter allows you to take individual B-channels out of service for an MGCP T1/E1 PRI gateway in real time.
I have also noticed that the channel selection has changed to TopDown, this is generally first to last, and BottomUp is last to first and is the default.
Regardless of the above the backhaul should register if the controller is up and L3 is established.
Could you please forward your MGCP gateway configuration.
    Regards
    Allan.

  • CUCM 9 & AS5850, Using MGCP Gateways not found in "Gateway Type" list...

I have an application where I need to control a large, AS5850 gateway using MGCP.  CUCM version is 9.1, soon to be 10.0.  The gateway is populated with CT3 cards.
We have confirmed that the AS5850 does in fact support MGCP, however it is not listed as an option in the list of gateway product choices when adding a new gateway in CUCM.  So my first question:
    1) How do you add an MGCP gateway in CUCM when it is not listed in the "gateway type" drop-down list?  It seems there must be a way to do this.  Other well known gateways such as the AS5300, AS5400 etc.. are also notably absent from the list of gateway choices.  Perhaps there is a template that can be edited?
If anyone has experience utilizing an AS5850 gateway with CUCM & MGCP, it would be very useful to see sample configuration programming from your gateway.
    Many thanks

    Hi,
As per the datasheet, the Cisco AS5850 Universal Gateway supports H.323,  SIP, and MGCP call-control protocols with extensive SNMP management and  debugging capabilities. It works with the Cisco PGW 2200 Softswitch,  the Cisco BTS 10200 Softswitch, and many partner softswitches as well.

It looks like that its not supported with CUCM.

  • Cisco Telepresence and Meeting Place Integration with Third Party Call Pros

    Dear colleages:
i want to ask if Cisco Telepresence can integrate with 3rd party call processing systems.
as my project has already existing Nortel Communication Server 1000,
    which supports:
    Operating System: VXWorks and Linux
Network Signaling Protocols: H.323v4, MCDN, SIP, LDAP, QSig, QSS, in band and DPNSS
    Trunking Support:
IP:IP Virtual Trunks using IP Peer Networking over H.323 or SIP
    Digital: DTI, ISDN-PRI, ISDN-BRI
Analog: Loop and Ground Start CO, FX, WATS, two or four wire E&M, four wire DX, DID, TIE, RAN Paging.
and i want to build Video Converence system over the WAN.
please to tell me if that integration is possible and what is the design components that is required for such project to be handled from A- to Z.
    Regards,

I have been told that i need to use SIP protocol API instead of TAPI to have a TRUE VOIP Windows solution.
Could you guys please tell me the difference between SIP API and TAPI?
And could you please suggest a way which API (SPI or TAPI) the OnCast solution is based on (http://www.litescape.com/oncastsoftware.html) - we have to develop something similar.
    Thank you for your replies,
    Alexey

  • Adding customer specific information on a BRI

    Hi,
Any ideas how to add a customer specific field on a BRI? I need a extern referanse field on every BRI.

    hi ,
You can modify PAR file of masthead and you can change any image or delet image or replace image.
there is one JSP code for masthead in PAR file and we have to modify that code.

  • Easiest way to use one bt device with mac and iPhone?

What's the easiest way to use one bluetooth device with both Mac and iPhone? (Not a the same time.) I have it working with a voip phone on my mac (x-lite), or with the Bria voip app and the ATT line on my iphone.  What I want is step by step how to accomplish the transition with the fewest clicks. I understand that I can't use it with both the Mac and the iPhone at the same time, and that's acceptable.
But it's tedious, and I would like to switch it back and forth several times a day.

You might be thinking of Crossover. Not sure if Windows Media Player works under it, but their website has info on requested and working apps.
    Best of luck.

    Troubleshooting Done:
    1. Reset the gateway from Call manager and MGCP gateway
Resetting the gateway didn't make any difference.

    Hi Amit,
This might be an issue with RISDC on the cluster. This service is responsible for distributing updates about device statuses in the cluster from one server to another. How many servers do you have on the cluster?
Does the gateway appear unregistered to ALL servers in the cluster? Can you take a look at this from the other subscribers?
You could try giving RISDC a reset on all subscribers first, followed by resetting it on the publisher. You will find this under Serviceability -> Control Center - Network services.
    Thanks
