Bridge CC part of standalone ID, IL, PS CC?

I’m interested if someone get access to Bridge CC if he’s a one-app-CC-customer?
Thanks
Karsten

Bridge is nothing more than Photoshop's File Browser, adapted to work with other applications in the totally fake "suite".
Photoshop for sure installs Bridge even as a single point application.  I can't vouch for any of the other point applications as stand alone.
Inconsistency between or among applications in the artificial "suites" should come as no surprise.
The "suite" concept is a fabrication of Adobe marketing and bean-counting types.  The engineering teams are totally independent of each other, they are not only in different buildings but in different cities and states of the American Union, even in different countries.
The fact that they have little if any communication among them is highlighted by requests occasionally made in these forums by top Adobe engineers to let the other teams know when there are problems in one application that impact our workflow in another one.

I've always found Adobe's website remarkably unhelpful on this point.
It repeatedly promotes the fact that you get Photoshop + Lightroom in a single package - but minimal info on other inclusions.
The most succinct explanation of all inclusions I can find is at the ever reliable:

  • Is Bridge still part of PSE 9 for Macs ?

I love Bridge - and I miss it in the PC version of PSE 8.  Funny that the PC version of PS CS5 has Bridge.
Now I see that Organizer is included in the Mac version of PSE 9 --- does that mean that Bridge is gone ????  Hope not !!!!
    Dick

I am soooooo sorry to learn that Bridge is gone from the Mac version of PSE 9.  I love Bridge - and I hate Organizer.
I probably will keep my classroom computers at PSE 8 - and have to give up getting content-aware fill on those machines.  Too bad !
Sometimes Adobe can be really dumb !  Bridge is a major part of PS CS4 and CS5 for me on my studio Mac Pros  ..... and I liked having it on the PSE 8 in my classroom.

  • Is Bridge CC part of Photoshop CC?

    Hi!
I wonder, if I get also Bridge CC, if I subscribe Photoshop CC and pay the 24,59€ per month (Single Product Subscription)
Or have I pay additional 24,59 € per month, to get also Bridge CC?
I'm not talking about this new special offer for 12.99 € per month.
    Thanks a lot!
    Best Regards

Bridge CC does not come with Photoshop CC. You can also download and use it with other single CC apps like Illustrator or InDesign. It is for all CC apps not just Photoshop.
The point is you have to install it separately.

"Adobe Bridge is now uses a separate installer, and does not get installed along with other applications. To install Adobe Bridge, you'll need to download and install it separately. This decoupling from other Adobe apps, enables independent delivery of Adobe Bridge, without being dependent on other applications for deployment."

  • How to Uninstall / Reinstall Bridge as part of CS3 Master Collection?

Bridge is not in my Add/Remove programs. It is not listed as an item that I can uninstall or reinstall in the Master Collection setup program. I want to reinstall Bridge. It is pretty much unusable on my XP64 system since the last upgrade. But how can I reinstall it?

Well, Adobe may not want to call it a separate program, but from most litmus tests that I can think of, Bridge sure looks and acts like separate program.
My Bridge would start up no problem. And I had been changing the settings to find anything that might work. But what I had not done, until last night, was to go into the Camera RAW Preferences and change anything. I did this last night. I changed the location of the cache here and changed its size from 1GB to 8GB. This has appeared to have helped quite a bit. Bridge is still a tad sluggish (on a very fast machine with 8 logical processors and 8GB or ram), but it is usable again.
So one follow-up question is what is the difference between the "camera RAW Preferences" cache and the "Preferences" Cache?
My next follow-up question is why does Bridge say that it is finished loading thumbnails (via progress bar) for a particular folder only to restart later or on subsequent returns to the folder even after no changes have been made? This drives me crazy. Just when you think that its finished and you can have your CPU's back, it starts up again and hogs your processing power.

  • Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop and Bridge does not recognize the raw files from my Canon Mark III 5D Camera.

Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop and Bridge does not recognize the raw files from my new Canon Mark III 5D Camera.  How can I get my files open to view and edit?  I am using LR3, Photoshop CS3 and Bridge CS3.  Do I need to upgrade these programs or is there another way to get these programs to recognize my files?
When I try opening the raw images in Lightroom, the thumbnails say "Preview unavailable for this file"  ... when I click "import" an error message pops up that says "The files are from a camera which is not recognized by the raw format support in Lightroom."
When I try opening the raw images in Photoshop, an error message pops up saying "could not complete your request because photoshop does not recognize this type of file."
When I try opening the raw images in Bridge, it just shows an icon with the file name and CR2.
    Please help!!!

Unless I missed an announcement, today, LR6 isn't available, yet, right?  Only Adobe employees and beta testers would know what LR6 does differently at this point and they're all sworn to secrecy.
LR5 is available as a standalone version.
    PS-CS6 is available as a serial-number-licensed version.
PS-CC + LR5 are also available as a Photography Plan subscription for $10/month with a minimum OS versions of OSX 10.7 (and probably 10.8, soon) and Windows 7.
Bridge is part of PS, not a separate program.
LR5 standalone and LR+PS-CC plan are both available on this page:  http://www.adobe.com/products/catalog/software.html
PS-CS6 can be found on this page:  Creative Suite 6 which can be found by searching www.adobe.com for Photoshop CS6 and clicking the Buy link in the on-the-fly search results.
As with any new Adobe software, it might be wise to run it in trial mode for a few days/weeks to see if it works well with your computer, before purchasing and finding out you might need a new computer, first.

  • Thumbnails will not display in Bridge

I am running CS5 on a Mac. About 3 days ago Bridge stopped displaying thumbs for files created from RAW (it does show most thumbnails for tiffs and jpegs created in the past)
I have tried to purge cache but i get a msg that says something like "1st of 3 processes" or something similar but that msg never goes away and I have to Force Quit Bridge. Several times when I shut down Bridge would not close, I had to Force Quit.
Maybe I inadvertantly changed a View setting but cannot find anything to resolve this. Maybe I need to download Bridge and start over? If so, do I need to download CS5 and Bridge is part of that? don't want to foul up Actions or other things.....and don't see a way to download only Bridge.
    thx for help folks,
    Ed

This sounds like you are compacting cache.  This process can take awhile depending on how big your cache files are.  Give it 10 min. or so.
What you want to do is purge cache.  The way to purge central and folder cache is to go to Tools/cache/purge cache for xxx folder.
If you use purge cache in preferences it will only purge the central cache.
    Hope this helps

  • Automation Plugin in Adobe Bridge

I've written a contact sheet automation plugin (much the same as Contact Sheet II, but allows more text fields to be included), and I'd like to get it to work from Adobe Bridge. I've included the FileBrowserAware {} in my PiPL resource block, but Bridge doesn't seem to pick up the plugin.
    TIA
    Richard,

Bridge does not support automation plug-in types. See the scripting documentation for Bridge. The FileBrowserAware flag was for when Bridge was part of Photoshop.

  • Bridge CS6 Missing from Master Collection

I installed Master Collection CS6 but noticed that Bridge CS6 was not installed. I reran the installer and checked to see if it was listed as an application available to install and it was not. I checked the website and it shows Bridge being part of MC so I am not sure why it's not installing or not even giving me the option to install. I tried to uninstall everything (using the uninstaller) and start over without any luck.
    Here are my system specs:
    Mac OS 10.6.8
MacPro 2 x 2.8 GHz Quad Core Intel Xeon
    16GB RAM

We would require the install logs to locate why the Bridge is not getting installed.
Please check this link to locate the log files:- http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html
Put the log file on "Pastebin.com" and provide the link here for further analysis.

  • Bridge CS6 workspaces suddenly greyed; content panel is only active item

I am running CS6 and OS X 10.8.5. Everything was fine, and today suddenly Bridge has stopped working properly. Under the Window menu, workspaces are greyed. Under the View menu, As thumbnails, As details, As list are greyed/disabled.
Bridge appears to be locked into the Light Box workspace, except that there is no preview panel. The only panel available is the Content panel; when I select one or more files, there is/are no previews.
This is what the window looks like.
So far, these are the things I have tried, to no avail:
I have restarted the computer, restarted Bridge, I have purged the cache, disabled startup scripts.
Any help would be hugely appreciated.

First try to delete the Bridge plist file from the user library.
Quit Bridge and go to the user library (by default hidden per OSX10.7, use menu Go with option to reveal).
User (your user name) / library/ Preferences / inhere find and manual delete the file called "com.adobe.bridge5.plist".
Again hold down option key while restart and again reset prefs.
If this is not working I'm afraid you have to reinstall Bridge CS6. First be sure you have backed up your keyword list if you have one and also look in the aforementioned user library but now Application Support / Adobe/ Bridge CS6. Copy this folder and content to a back up place for security. Inhere all are sort of custom settings including your custom workspaces, so if needed you can copy some of these setting back to the same folders and location of your new install.
Repeat this also for Photoshop (both same library / app support and preferences) for back up security of your custom settings because Bridge is part of PS install in CS6.
Be sure to have your install disk or image file for PSCS6 at hand including the serial number. Use the official uninstaller and once you are doing so also try the Adobe Cleaner Tool :
http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html  (read the instructions carefully before acting).
Run Apple disk utility to check and repair permissions and then reinstall PSCS6 that also installs Bridge CS6. Run the updaters and try again.
And a final thought, before doing the above create a new user account for testing and see if this helps. Sometimes User Accounts get corrupted and Bridge is very sensitive for that. MacOsX recovery disk can help to recreate the problem user account.

  • Where is Adobe Bridge?

I don't see Bridge on the Apps page or on my Application Manager - anyone know why?
    Thanks.

Bridge is not a standalone app so there's no install icon to install it separately.
It's installed together with other apps such as Photoshop.

  • Canon 60D files can't be opened in Bridge (CS4 version); Camera Raw 6.6 has key features missing

I am a Mac user (latest OS) and had been using Camera Raw from Bridge CS4 (part of my Elements 8 bundle) to edit my raw pictures from Canon RebelXTi. I upgraded to a 60D, downloaded the pertinent Camera Raw plug-in, but my raw files still wouldn't open in Bridge. I purchased Elements 10, thinking that would solve all problems, but apparently Bridge and Camera Raw are no longer part of the package! I downloaded the latest Camera Raw patch for Elements 10 (6.6), and I can now open raw files from Photoshop, but the Camera Raw version is not full featured and Bridge still can't open my 60D files. How can I get the full version of Camera Raw back AND have my 60D files opened? I deleted Elements 8, but not Bridge, and I can still open raw files from my Rebel in the earlier full version of Camera Raw. When I check in Elements 10 preferences, only Camera Raw 6.6 shows up, so that should be correct. Any ideas?

The full-featured ACR with Elements loophole has been closed in the newer Mac Elements, I believe.   Us PC folks never had Bridge with Elements or haven’t for many versions, already , so have already been limited in RAW processing with Elements.  Adobe finally “fixed” the Mac version, too, I think.
For full-featured ACR and Bridge you’re supposed to pay for Photoshop.  Perhaps Lightroom, that is half the cost of PS, and has all the adjustments of full-ACR and you could still link PSE as a final editor step of ACR-type adjustments aren’t enough.
An alternative is to convert your CR2 files to DNGs and then they’ll open in older versions of ACR, like the one that came with PSE 8, assuming you can still install that.
