Bring layers to top

I'm wondering how to bring layers to the top in actionscript
3.
I've created many "boxes" using the addChild function as
follows:
for(i=0;i<40;i++){
var b:MovieClip = new box();
stage.addChild(b);
b.addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, boxChange);
The boxes scale larger and overlap according to mouse
position and the movieclips that were created later always overlap
the ones created previously. How do I bring a desired box to the
front?

you can use the addChildAt(), removeChildAt(),
setChildIndex() and swapChildrenAt() methods of the
displayobjectcontainer class.

I would like to bring layered Illustrator files into Muse

I would like to bring layered Illustrator files into Muse. It would be great to use them for buttons like the photoshop layered button options.
It would be even better if it just converted the vectors to .SVG files auto-magically, when published.

Importing .ai files in Muse and having Muse export them as .svg is imperative for future proof workflow.
But in order for that to happen Muse would have to have some vector capabilities in itself and that means only one thing: rewrite of the whole app, most likely ditching Air framework.
In other words ain't gonna happen.
When you think about it really it's the Illustrator or Indesign that should do what Muse is doing right now. There is no reason for Muse to exist but they dont want to confuse the users I guess. Illustrator should apply native CSS effects by default enabled when you work on vectors such as drop shadow, round corners, blur, etc. and have it generate .css

PARB changes: Remove targetBufferTime from the metrics provider, this value can't be set in the absence of an understanding of the buffering strategy which is layered on top of NetStreamBufferTrait. Adjust switching rules to work from the raw buffer data instead of this target. Remove all bufferTime modifications from the MBR code, so that they won't impact any buffering strategies (addresses FM-436).

Putting photo layers on top of one another

In Elements 4 can you put multiple layers of photos on top of one another and how?

1. This program depends on utilization of layers to achieve the best result
2. Open image 1 - the one that you want to add something into
3. Open image 2 - the one that you want to select something from, to add to image 1
4. Use one of the selection tools, for example the magnetic lasso tool, to select that which you want to copy from image 2. When you do this, you will see "marching ants" around the selection. Go to Edit>copy.
5. Bring up image 1, go to Edit>paste. You should now see image 1 as the bottom layer, and the selected portion of image 2 above this. Surrounding the selection is a checker-board pattern which represents transparency, allowing you visibility.
6. In order to position the pasted portion, use the move tool.
Try this and let us know how you make out. Don't try for perfection initially, just attempt to follow this drill until you get the hang of it.
Forget about the healing brush for now. This tool is used for another purpose.

Bringing layered PS files into Premiere Pro 5.5

I'm switching to PP from Final Cut Pro, and I do a lot of editing of animatics for animation. I'm trying to figure out how to bring in a layered PS file so that it comes in as one layered, nested clip rather than a series of clips that have to be rearranged. I assume I'm doing something wrong here - there's got to be a way to bring in a layered file into PP as a layered file and not a series of clips.
Also, is there a way to have however I want to import it (layered, flattened, etc) applied to every file? I'm brining in dozens of PS documents and I just want them all to come in as layered documents.

When you import a PSD, you are presented with a dialog asking how you want to import it. You have the following options, with the following results:
Merge All Layers: Flattens all layers in original PSD into one footage item
Merged Layers: Flattens layers you specifically select in the dialog from the original PSD into one footage item
Individual Layers: Imports layers you specifically select as individual footage items, and creates a bin with the name of the PSD to contain them
Sequence: Imports layers you specifically select as individual footage items, create a bin with the name of the PSD, and also creates a sequence with the name of the PSD with the layers stacked as tracks.
Select the last option, and then open the sequence that is created. You can nest this into your working/final sequence, and work with the layers/tracks within it to animate them separately.

How can I bring JInternalFrame on top

I need to make frame which shows all icons(emotions..) and user can insert any of them...
so when I click on the toolbar .. this has to popup... that is what my intention..Then why not use a JPopupMenu instead and customize it to contain all the icons you want.
You could
1. set the layout to GridLayout
2. create a method which uses a string array of filenames to populate the menu with imageicons and adds the necessary listeners.

Cannot view layers beneath top layer

Hi
I am facing this problem in my Adobe Photoshop CS3, where I cannot view any layer other than the topmost layer in my document window upon selecting it. It does get selected when I click on it in the layer menu, and the document window title bar does show the name of the selected layer although it continues to display the top layer instead of the one that I have selected. Also, the visibility icon (the eye) is on for all layers, so that is not the problem.
I tried resetting default settings, but this still continues to happen. Please help!

How to bring attachments to top of email

Hi,
On my iPhone 5 iOS 8.1.3; I always see the attachments at the bottom of email.
it is bit annoying to scroll down every time see the attachments.
most of the time there is a chain of mail and we need to scroll all those mail till end to see the attachment for current email.
Is there any way to bring the attachments always to be at top of email?
Or is there any shortcut to reach directly to the bottom of email.

No, there is no configuration setting for that. The only mail app that I am aware of that provides more flexibility in how attachments are presented is Outlook (a new app from Microsoft, and not to be confused with OWA). It does have limitations on what mail services it supports, but handles most of the usual suspects like Gmail and Yahoo, as well as Exchange and Outlook.com. It is possible that there are others that would serve your needs. would be worth a look in the app store.

Moving multiple layers to top of the stage

Hi!
I purchased a flash home page template that had menu buttons at the top that I decided not to use. I removed the buttons, but now there is a 125 pixel blank horixontal space at the top of the stage. I tried resizing the horizontal size of the stage hoping the artwork would move up and eliminate the blank area, but the stage sizes from the bottom up. The layers get cutoff at the bottom and the blank space is still at the top.
The movie is quite complex with many layers and 450+ frames. Have attached the swf file to illustrate how the top of the stage is empty after I removed the menu buttons. Is there any way to get all of the layers to move up by 125 pixels so that they fill in the blank space without having to do each layer one at a time?

Layering on top of picture

a page in my site is just one large picture, on the picture
is where i want links so I was using "hotspots" to link those. I
want to put some stuff on top of the image, like a paypal button
and contact form, how do I layer and put an object on top of an
image without making it the background? thanks

Layers on top of buttons are blocking interaction, even when hidden/display off - now with current update.

Rollovers work until you have a rollover go over one of the hotspots, then it renders the hotspot useless unless you refresh page.
This used to work until I updated Edge Animate, is this a bug or do I need to do it a different way now?

Swf layered on top of dreamweaver content

I have created a password swf so when the user enters the
correct password the swf plays to the end frame. I want to load
this into a dreamweaver page covering existing images/html content
and when the correct password is entered, I would like the swf to
disappear revealing the contents of the dreamweaver html page. Any
suggestions appreciated.

You could set the background on the SWF to tranparent using
the WMode
parameter when adding it to the page, but this approach is
not completely
supported cross browser. Also you could run into problems if
the page
contained clickable elements as the flash file would still be
obscuring
them.

Why isn't a layered animation visible on top of a movie when you Preview in Browser?

I'm using the latest version of EA CC (2014)
Imported a video
Converted it into a symbol
Added a controller... plays fine on its timeline, or Preview in Browser
Then, I did the following...
Double-clicked the symbol of the video
Created an animation to play on top of it
Everything previews fine on the symbol's timeline
Here's the problem...
When I Preview in Browser, the video plays fine, but the animation that I layered on top, is not visible at all

Almost there…
I added this and understand why… “Callout_01” now appears and plays:

I initially put this in because if you click the animation as it’s playing, it’ll bring you back to Home. Then, if you click “Button_02” again, the video will play from the beginning. If you take it out, it will not play from the beginning. I should have changed the comment to read 100% instead of 10%... my fault. Joe, since you questioned it, I replaced it with a shorter piece of code that accomplishes the same thing (see below).

I added these two after making the above changes. Because if you went back to Home and repeatedly clicked “Button02”, “Callout_01” would not show/play.

Here’s the end of the puzzle, almost there… Previewing in browser, you click “Button02”, “Ani_02” starts to play. However, before “Callout_01” appears (at 55 sec mark), you click the Pause Button on the Controller. After a short pause (let’s say 3 sec), you click the Play Button on the Controller. As the video continues to play, you’ll notice that the Pause Button on the Controller had no effect on “Callout_01” to also stop playing… it will appear prematurely however long the pause was.
Apologize for being so wordy, but it’s the only way I can describe what is/is not happening.

My tool bar and Layers pallet are behind my free floating files how do I get them on top?

I have been a Photoshop CS user for about 13 years...I recently downladed CS5 to try it before I buy it. I've been a CS3 user for 3 or 4 years now. I love Photoshop but other than Photoshop I am not a very savvy computer user. So please bear with me as I try to explain my problem.
When I open PSCS5 it fills my computer screen completely and looks like this: A thin 1/2 inc strip on teh left that holds my "tools", a wider 2 inch strip on the right that holds "Layers, Channels, Paths" and a 1 1/2 inch strip on the top, then a big work area in the middle.
I usually have 2- 12X12 300 dpi new files open AND 10-15 photos or scrapbook elements and papers open to work on at any one time.
In prior versions of CS the tool strip and layer pallets strips were ALWAYS on top so I could access them no matter how much was open on the screen. In CS5 I keep burying them and have to dig them out to use them. When I use "Float All in Window", which I need, using Tabs does not allow me to see everything I need to see to work on documents, how do I get the tools and layers on TOP only?

You probably need to undock the panels on the right and the toolbox by clicking and dragging on the top out into the workspace.
Then move them back to the sides of the workspace without docking them (the blue line means they are going to dock)

Saving and reusing adjustment layers

Hi, I feel like what I'm trying to do should be easy, but I can't figure it out.
I have a set of files that I'd like to apply the same set of adjustment layers to. I opened one of the images, created the adjustment layers, and tweaked the settings until I was happy. Now I'd like to create an action that would apply this set of layers to multiple files in batch mode. I understand that if I were to record my adjustment layer creation, I could replay this, but I didn't record - I have a set of layers (I even saved them to a separate file) but no way to retrace my steps. I could do all this by hand by duplicating my adjustment layer group to files that I open, but I can't find a way to automate this. Any help?

If I correctly understand your question, then my naswer is yes - you can reuse adjustment layers. Say you have a psd file which contains a layer with your image and several adjustment layers on top. To apply those same adjustment layers to other images convert the image layer to a smart object and save the file as your primary image file. I expect the following simple sequence, which is actionable, can be put in a batch process though I've never done it as I can manually click through images as fast as I can hit the keys.
The main features of the action are to open the primary file and right click on the smart object. From the drop down list choose Replace Contents. This brings up a Place window from which you select ( double click) the next image and that image appears in Photoshop's main window with all adjustments applied. Click on save and repeat the process for the next image.
It is rare that I need the same adjustment layers to be applied to many images- it seems that often times each image requires slightly different adjustment settings. The above process, however, works for other operations as well, say filters (smart) or Calculations which I may apply to multiple images.
