Layering on top of picture

a page in my site is just one large picture, on the picture
is where i want links so I was using "hotspots" to link those. I
want to put some stuff on top of the image, like a paypal button
and contact form, how do I layer and put an object on top of an
image without making it the background? thanks

Adjust switching rules to work from the raw buffer data instead of this target. Remove all bufferTime modifications from the MBR code, so that they won't impact any buffering strategies (addresses FM-436).

How to: Add Conistent Overlay/Text On Top of Picture Slideshow

Hello everyone - am fairly new to Keynote. I'm sure there is an easy way to do this just not sure how ...
I am putting together a picture slideshow as part of a presentation I am doing ... have a lot of pictures to cycle through ... maybe 100 ... anyhow, it is very easy to add all the pictures by dragging and dropping them and also to change all the transitions and timing at once ... it is a cinch!
However, I am struggling with a way to overlay a title/text on top of ALL the images (same logo/text for all of them). I have played around with creating my own "Master Slide" that has the text I want to display, however, the image always covers/blocks the text ... I noticed that I can enable something like "allow master slide to interact with the layers of the other slide material", however, I have to manually click each picture and "Send to the Back" in order to see my text/logo. This is a pain!
Is there an easier way to do this ?

In my experience, if you use a text box on a master and it's set to be a placeholder (or it's the actual Body box of the slide), then you put a media placeholder (photo placeholder) on the master slide, while the master will NOT let you put the text in front of the placeholder, on any actual slides that you make that use that master, the text shows up in FRONT of the placeholder. I put a placeholder on a slide and wanted it behind the bullets. It doesn't look that way on the master, but when you make a slide from it, sure enough, the photo is behind the bullet box.

Putting photo layers on top of one another

In Elements 4 can you put multiple layers of photos on top of one another and how?

1. This program depends on utilization of layers to achieve the best result
2. Open image 1 - the one that you want to add something into
3. Open image 2 - the one that you want to select something from, to add to image 1
4. Use one of the selection tools, for example the magnetic lasso tool, to select that which you want to copy from image 2. When you do this, you will see "marching ants" around the selection. Go to Edit>copy.
5. Bring up image 1, go to Edit>paste. You should now see image 1 as the bottom layer, and the selected portion of image 2 above this. Surrounding the selection is a checker-board pattern which represents transparency, allowing you visibility.
6. In order to position the pasted portion, use the move tool.
Try this and let us know how you make out. Don't try for perfection initially, just attempt to follow this drill until you get the hang of it.
Forget about the healing brush for now. This tool is used for another purpose.

Photosmart 475 cuts top of picture off when printing

I have a Photosmart 475 and have not used it very much until now. Whenever I choose a picture(s) to print, on the screen they look fine but when they print the top of the picture is cut off. This has resulted with many heads cut off in the photos. I have it set to borderless printing and am using HP Premium photo paper size 4 x 6; one picture per sheet. I am not zooming in on the picture either. Also, I load the paper as shown in the diagram in the book. Does anybody have any suggestions as to why? Thank you.

I have seen this happen with Avery labels. Are your Margins off when you print from other programs?

Photoshop Elements 2: Top Of Picture Disappears Under Shortcuts Menu Bar.

I know it's not an eMac problem but I thought this would be the best place to ask!
At one time whenever I opened a photo in PSE2 the top edge of the photo's window was neatly aligned with the bottom of the Shortcuts Menu Bar.
Now whenever I open a picture the top of the picture's window disappears under the menu. If it doesn't disappear the moment it is opened, it does if I try to enlarge it.
This means I cannot move the picture around the monitor or close the picture with the red button at the top.
The only cure I have found is to remove the Shortcuts Menu bar, which is rather inconvenient!
I have fiddled around with the preferences and also turned the "Resize Windows To Fit" setting on and off to no avail.
This never used to happen - so has anyone got a solution?

PROBLEM SOLVED !!!!!!!
After a day of intermittent head-banging I have solved it.
The Shortcuts Bar should always be ABOVE the Options Bar.
Although I have used Photoshop a lot, I can go for weeks without looking at it.
Somehow the positions of the Shortcut and Options bars had been switched and I hadn't noticed.
I don't know how because I didn't even realise they could be moved and nobody else uses my computer!
Anyway, now the Shortcuts Bar is on top everything is back to normal.
Hope this is of some help should it happen to anyone else.

Video on top of picture

I'm not sure if the picture erased the text I'd already written so I'll just type it again. I make videos for YouTube and I was wanting to have my video play on top of a background image as shown above. So the video would be playing in the top left corner and the background image would stay where it is throughout the whole thing. How would I go about doing this? -Zax

Thanks for the follow up with more details of your Premiere Elements and computer environment.
Use the basic instructions given in post numbered 1.
Premiere Elements 12 Windows 8 64 bit
Expert workspace
1. Video file on Video Track 2
2. Background Image file directly below on Video Track 1.
3. Go to fx Effects tab at bottom of workspace and select the category named Presets. Under Presets, find and drag either of the following effects into
the video file on Video Track 2
PiP 25% LL
or
PiP 40% LL
Then adjust the scale and position of the video in relation to the Background Image.
When you click on the video on screen, its bounding box will appear with the opportunity for you to custom scale the video by clicking and dragging on a bounding box handle. Also click and drag the bounding box to the wanted location.
Unless you want a special effects PiPs, I think that it is just as easy to start
1. Video file on Video Track 2
2. Background Image file directly below on Video Track 1.
And then click on the screen to get the Video Track 2 Video file bounding box, scale using a bounding box handle. Click and drag bounding box of the scaled image to the wanted position in relation to the Background Image.
Please consider and review and then let us know the outcome.

Cannot view layers beneath top layer

Hi
I am facing this problem in my Adobe Photoshop CS3, where I cannot view any layer other than the topmost layer in my document window upon selecting it. It does get selected when I click on it in the layer menu, and the document window title bar does show the name of the selected layer although it continues to display the top layer instead of the one that I have selected. Also, the visibility icon (the eye) is on for all layers, so that is not the problem.
I tried resetting default settings, but this still continues to happen. Please help!

Bring layers to top

I'm wondering how to bring layers to the top in actionscript
3.
I've created many "boxes" using the addChild function as
follows:

The boxes scale larger and overlap according to mouse
position and the movieclips that were created later always overlap
the ones created previously. How do I bring a desired box to the

you can use the addChildAt(), removeChildAt(),
setChildIndex() and swapChildrenAt() methods of the
displayobjectcontainer class.

No layers available when editing pictures which are developed with LR?

When I edit a copy of a picture out of LR using Photoshop Elements 6.0, I'd like to apply the development settings I've made in LR and use layers in PSE. Why do I get only the option to edit the developed image without layers or edit an undeveloped copy with layers?

I made the following post in another thread and while the specific issue in the OP is not the same the reasons for Lightroom inability to work with layers is related. I suppose a similar question could be asked why can't PS send the layered image back to ACR for further editing there.

If however your are working with raw/dng files in the develop module of Lightroom you can send these to an external editor, Photoshop or whatever, in this instance Lightroom will save a copy next to the raw original in the format you choose in the preferences. You still end up with a second file same as if you had done an export, just saved in a different location.

Moving multiple layers to top of the stage

Hi!
I purchased a flash home page template that had menu buttons at the top that I decided not to use. I removed the buttons, but now there is a 125 pixel blank horixontal space at the top of the stage. I tried resizing the horizontal size of the stage hoping the artwork would move up and eliminate the blank area, but the stage sizes from the bottom up. The layers get cutoff at the bottom and the blank space is still at the top.
The movie is quite complex with many layers and 450+ frames. Have attached the swf file to illustrate how the top of the stage is empty after I removed the menu buttons. Is there any way to get all of the layers to move up by 125 pixels so that they fill in the blank space without having to do each layer one at a time?

Writing on top of picture

When I upload a picture onto flash I begin to scribble and
what not ontop of a .jpg/.png/etc picture but as soon as stop
drawing, it disappears and is found underneath the image. Is there
anyways to change this?

image into, or perhaps use object drawing mode when drawing.

Where is the top banner picture of the "default " server homepage stored?

I have set up a Mac Mini Server Snow Leopard and it's running fine. I'm hosting my own page and I kind of like the "look" of the "server hompage"/update where the three boxes to choose from appear. The only thing I would like to do is to change the top banner "Mac OS X Server". Anyone know where this is stored so I can chnage only that?

Me again! The "/default" shouldn't be there of course. Just the top banner you see when going to the index file.

Picture on Top of Picture for Web Use

Posted earlier, but now with more details-
What is a common way to lay one photo on top of a portion of another? The images are large files that will need be saved as smaller jpegs. One image would be700 by 400ppi. The other, which overlays directly atop, is 200 x400ppi. The overlay is not a transparent or merging double-image effect. It's a solid photo cutting across a section of aother photo.
I can do this fine in InDesign, however the web desinger will want to have the composite photo as one file, ready for the web.

What is 700 by 400ppi, or 200 x 400 ppi?

Layers on top of buttons are blocking interaction, even when hidden/display off - now with current update.

Rollovers work until you have a rollover go over one of the hotspots, then it renders the hotspot useless unless you refresh page.
This used to work until I updated Edge Animate, is this a bug or do I need to do it a different way now?
