Bringing lime imac files into the modern world
My husband has an old lime imac DV. I'd like to make an exact clone (copy) of his disc so he can transfer it to something more modern ;-D Is there any way I can slave it to a powerbook and copy the disc. When the imac is the startup disc, all the prefs won't copy (in use), so it would have to be a slave. I use Carbon Copy Cloner, but he is running OS 9.4 on the imac and I don't know of any comparable app for that. Any ideas?

How about putting the iMac into FireWire Target Disk mode, and accessing its disk with a more modern Mac?

Or if both Macs are on an Ethernet Network, (e.g., both are using a shared Broadband Internet connection) use File Sharing. You will probably need the IP Addresses of the Macs to initiate Sharing. If your older Mac were running Mac OS Older than 9, the setup becomes a little more complicated, but still very manageable.

no you should transcode those files into an format that os suitable for editing. Like proRez. Although you might need some Flip4Mac or perian or something to do the conversion.

I exported my iBook and got the .ibooks file on my Desktop(iMac Retina 5K), I tried to put the file into the iBooks application but I get a message that says "The file "______.ibooks" couldn't opened because it isn't in the correct format. I took the same file and transferred it in my MacBook Air and was able to put it in the iBooks application no problem, the MacBook Air runs OS X v 10.9.5
Please advise as to Why it would work on an older OS X version as oppose to the newer OS X Yosemite

I may be doing something wrong because looking at the "Purchased" in iBooks I only see all the books that I actually purchased, none of the iBooks that I created in iBooks Author shows up. I can re-download all the iBooks I've purchased and some in iCouds, but the ones I've created in iBooks Author are no where to be found.

Can I combine two methods of code to load various SWF files into the same location
I presently have a set up where a large SWF file brought on the stage by clicking small icons from the scrollable thumbnail menu on the bottom of the stage. All of it happens at the same frame with .xml loading file.

Here is what I would like to resolve. I have another section on the site with an image collage. Every image is a button. I want to script this each image on click to go to the label with ImageLoader and SWFLoader AND TO OPEN A UNIQUE SWF (ASSOCIATED WITH AN IMAGE CLICKED) ON THAT PAGE
Previously this is what I did to achieve it. I would specify a String:

So, my main flash file is broken into labeled sections on the main time line.
One of the sections is "Applications" It has an animated collage of images. Each image acts as a button and once clicked brings a user to a section called "ApplicationsPopUps".
"ApplicationsPopUps" section has small image thumbnails scroll menu at the bottom of the screen and a large SWFLoader in the middle of the screen. User can click on an image in the thumbnails scroll menu and a corresponding SWF file will load in the middle of the screen in SWFLoader. User can click on left/right navigation buttons and preceeding/following SWF file will load in SWFLoader.
Everything works fine (with your previous help)

Thumbnails in the section "ApplicationsPopUps" and images in the image collage in the section "Applications" represent the same photographs. So when a user clicks on one of the images in "Applications" section it would be natural that that image will load in the "ApplicationsPopUps" section. However "ApplicationsPopUps" section presently has a working code (as sampled above) It looks too complex for me and I do not know hot to implement this feature. I do want to keep the functionality of the thumbs image scroller in section "ApplicationsPopUps" as it is now. But I want to add that when a user click on an image from section"Applications" then that particular SWF file will load in SWFLoader in section "ApplicationsPopUps" and then the present functionality can as well be exectuted. Presently it just opens on a first image in xml order.
P.S. I see that you had a download link in your answer. How did you do it? I could also upload a small sample file with my problem. This way you could see all the set up right away. -

I would like to bring layered Illustrator files into Muse. It would be great to use them for buttons like the photoshop layered button options.
It would be even better if it just converted the vectors to .SVG files auto-magically, when published.Importing .ai files in Muse and having Muse export them as .svg is imperative for future proof workflow.
But in order for that to happen Muse would have to have some vector capabilities in itself and that means only one thing: rewrite of the whole app, most likely ditching Air framework.
In other words ain't gonna happen.
When you think about it really it's the Illustrator or Indesign that should do what Muse is doing right now. There is no reason for Muse to exist but they dont want to confuse the users I guess. Illustrator should apply native CSS effects by default enabled when you work on vectors such as drop shadow, round corners, blur, etc. and have it generate .css -
Nothing appears on my Desktop. The Finder seems to work, so I can place a file into the DTop folder, but nothing appears on the DTop, not even the HarDrive.
You can temporarily hide the crap on your desktop. Edit the CreateDesktop key in com.apple.finder:

In going over this, thanks to "tallking it out" with you, I did discover the Text Edit problem. Because I've still been unable to get the new computer text size (fonts or whatever) to match the old computer, I did not notice that the curser is now different--the line midway down the curser has to be placed on the line I am working upon, otherwise the edits go elsewhere on the page. Now, with a bit of difficulty, I am able to get Text Edit to work correctly.
If you have any ideas as to why my menu bar and Text Edit type are still so slow, I'd love to have them.
(I went through the process you suggested earlier, re my Trackpad preferences, and found no improvement.) -
Can I include raw files into the installer folder with LV application builder?

I have created a batch file that will run at the end of the installer, which will copy over some raw configuration files into the source destination so that the configuration files can be customized for each end user without rebuilding the installer with application builder. I also have an autorun.inf so the installer will automatically run when the user installs the CD.
However I would like to have some default configuration files and an autorun.inf file that will be automatically added to the installer "volume" folder using the application builder.
However I don't see a way to include raw files in the "volume" folder. It appears all source files in the application builder are embedded into the binary files.
Please let me know if this is possible with the current application builder.

(the compiler doesn't ( can't )) look for directories, it can just look for specific files , and scan to get a list of all files matching certain criteria. So if there are no class files, it will say the package doesn't exist, even if there is a directory, possibly containing other files.yes there are class files in the jar, the tree structure:

thank you for you comments, the problem with having these errors, is that I can't even get a piece of information where this error is coming from, only that it is an import loading error package not found, what does that mean? that the jar was not loaded in compilation(no error about this), that the jar is corrupted(no error about this), that the path is incorrect(it is correct I made sure), that there is no such package in the jar(There is), that the compiler does not load the package(does it even do that?), really I can't even guess why this happens, I've been at this on and of all day today, really annoying.

How to call a java method so I can pass a file into the method
I want to pass a file into a java method method from the main method. Can anyone give me some help as to how I pass the file into the method - do I pass the file name ? are there any special points I need to put in the methods signature etc ?

ThanksIt's a matter of personal preference really. I would encapsulate all of the file-parsing logic in a separate class that implements an interface so that if in the future you want to start taking the integers from another source, e.g. a db, you wouldn't need to drastically alter your main application code. Saving a .pdf file into the network shared drive from Outlook 2013
Hello sirs,
I have one client that having the file saving issue into the shared drive from outlook 2013.
I have isolated the network portion and confirmed that there is nothing to do with the network. They have 1 host server which has 2 VMs inside (DC & FS). Whenever they want to save .pdf file into the shared drive, "Saving" message box popped up and showed for about 1 min to complete the file saving. I have tested with .xlsx & .dcsx but no error saving those files. only for this particular extension that facing this slowness problem. It has been on going for a month already and I couldn't figure it out what could be the issue.
Please if anyone experienced this issue, I would really appreciate your suggestions & guidance.

I'm trying to invoke EXCEL or POWERPOINT file into the browser IE 6.0.
The output is coming out all scrambled (almost like ASCII code or something),
where it seems like the applications are not firing up.
However, an MSWord file shows up fine. So I go to the WEB.XML file in the TOMCAT\CONF
folder and notice that a MIME type has been set up for MSWord and not the other two.
I set one up for EXCEL and POWERPOINT but the XLS or PPT files still don't work.
So, just for kicks, I comment out the MSWord MIME definition but the MSWord file still worked!!!
I can't figure out what's going on here.
I'm stopping and starting the TOMCAT service each time I make changes to the WEB.XML file,
but it seems like none of the changes are taking affect.
I install all the viewers for MS-Word, ppt, and excell.
But in Netscape it works fine.To support various file formats in IE browser while using window.open like .doc, .docx, .ppt, .pptx, .xls, xlsx etc.,

Hi Guys,
I want to know, how to upload an xml file into the Internal table through ABAP programmingyou just wanted to load the xml file into internal table (as a table of binary strings)or load the xml data mapped to itab row columns
for the first one you can simply use gui_upload
and for the second one you need to load the xml file using gui_upload and use XLST program to transform into an itab

Hi, I have a report with the date parameter. It is based on the item of date type. If I run it in the Discoverer Plus then the parameter has the date picker next to the filed as expected and I can choose the date from the calendar. Running the same i
