Broadcast query within email

Hello,
Is it possible to broadcast query results "within" an email. Currently we are sending attachments but i would like to send the results within the body of the email. I've tested all the different settings but dont see what i am looking for. Broadcasting an online link does not fit our requirement, we are sending a snapshot in time not current data.

In BEx broadcaster create a setting that has:
Distribution Type: "Send as E-Mail"
Output Format: "Independent HTML File"
leave As Zip File unchecked.
For me, this sends the web template I choose in the body of the email.
Also, you may need to add the email address that you are sending the emails from as a trusted site in your email list. This may allow the email program (we use Outlook) to apply the CSS from the templates to the table in the email and it will look exactly like what you would see in your web portal.

ldap accept query is very effective here and have been using since day-1.
Recently, we discover some backend mta log that rejecting invalid address.
We haven't change ironport or the backend ldap software for a while. So it is not something that due to recent change.
Here is a funny finding, note the space.

I run a ldapsearch on the backend LDAP server and the ldapsearch does not return the 'sys [email protected]' as valid LDAP entry. So it seems it is not related to LDAP.
This is our ldap accept query

Our ldap backend is Openwave MX LDAP directory.
We do considering upgrading to 5.5 version but it was not due to this problem. but rather than try to keep our version reasonably up-to-date.

In the latest version it is also accepting addresses that contain spaces. However, the exact behavior depends on how address parsing is configured on your listener.
If it is set to "loose parsing", it accepts but actually delivers the message to .
When using "strict parsing", it doesn't alter the recipient address and the message gets delivered to .
In the LDAP accept query however, it seems to ignore that setting. It always strips spaces from the address before it sends the query (you can see this in ldap debug).
I don't know whether all this is by design or not. Especially the ldapaccept part looks more like a bug to me, i'd expect it to check the address its going to use to deliver the mail. Its probably best to create a support request for this.

There is one thing to be careful about though when using the "Send Updates" feature in Address book to notify your contacts about address/contact info changes.
Addressbook will automatically include your personal vCard at the end of the email message that goes out to your list. I did not realize this at the time and it royally burned me. My default address card had a lot of extra personal information contained within it that I did not want people to see. There was no indication that the vCard would automatically be included nor any way to disable this feature just before sending the "update" email. As a result, my list received my private information and the only thing I could do was to send a new email to the list manually, minus the vCard attachment, requesting that they please delete the first email in favor of this new one. I'm hoping that most will disregard the vCard, though I fear the damage has been done.
I later discovered that the preferences now include a checkbox for enabling/disabling a "private me card", which allows you to control which content is included in your vCard information. This is handy now, but I wished the default had been to have vCards turned off / not included automatically, since it was a feature I didn't discover until AFTER my updates had been sent!

Broadcasting Workbook using Email Bursting

Hi All,
I am trying to Broadcast Workbook Using Email Bursting option and I am getting corrupted workbook. I have seen several posts in this regard and then included a Mandatory Variable to do precalculation but even then its sending a corrupted workbook.
Now I have a new issue along with this: my precal server(t-code: RSPRECADMIN) is becoming offline(Red)/ at capacity(Yellow) whenever i try to braodcast a workbook. So i have to restart the Service on the server and also followed all the steps listed in the How to..troubleshoot information broadcasting pdf.
we are on BI 7.0 SP 17 and installed the latest version of precalserver.
Can anyone please tell me step by step procedure on how to Broadcast Workbook using Email Bursting .

I opened an SAP note and they came up saying
"Please be informed that BI 7.X PreCalculation service is not available
with GUI 710. you have to use GUI 640 for precalculating the workbooks.
Precalculation service for GUI 710 is still in testing and not delivere
d for customers yet.
Please refer to the below mentioned note:
1145589 : BI 7.X PreCalculation service delivery schedule"
I did not try on 640 yet...please let me know if you find the solution for this..

All of a sudden, emails are not displaying normally; symbols and numbers are interspersed within words of emails, no graphics, no functioning links within emails on my BlackBerry Curve 8530. Verizon Wireless suggested I upgrade to a different phone. That's helpful.

Have you sent HTML emails to GMAIL, HOTMAIL and YAHOO accounts successfully before? Are those services capable of handling HTML formatted email? Not all email clients can handle that type of email.

you can achieve this by writing ABAP code for broadcasting.
which is more reliable.
otherwise you need to create different settings for different buyers and schedule it..\
as it will increase the performance as well as defined..

You have to have an IMAP email account in order to create folders in the mail app on the iPad.
If you have an IMAP account, tap on the email account and in the window that shows your InBox, Sent Folder, Trash Folder, etc, there will be an Edit button at the top. Tap that button and a "New MailBox" button will appear at the bottom of the window. Tap that to create a new folder.

Query within the Cursor loop is very slow

I have a stored procedure which has Select/Insert operation which is looped within the cursor. The Select uses variables from the cursor, and inserts the data into the table.
My problem is the peformance. The stored procedure executes in 2 mins if I hard code the where clause values in the Select. Instead if I use the variables obtained from the cursor, the query takes so long (more than 20 mins) to insert the same no of records into the table.
Below is the snippet of my code

cursor v_cur is Select distinct Acct_Month,salesperson_name from period;

The query is not using the optimizer when the variables are used.The optimizer is used when I hard code the values in the select.
Please give me suggestions to make this query faster..

Whenever you write code, format it to show the scope of BEGIN, LOOP, IF statements, and so on.
Type these 6 characters
{code}
(small letters only, inside curly brackets) before and after the formatted code, to preserve spacing on this site.
You've discovered why the tecnique you're using is called "slow-by-slow" processing.
You don't need a cursor. You may not even need PL/SQL.
Just write an INSERT statement that reference the table from the cursor and the tables from your current INSERT statement.
Here's one way:
INSERT
INTO     t1 (columns)
SELECT         columns
FROM     t2
,     t3
WHERE     ...
AND     (t2.month, t3.sp_name)     IN (
                          SELECT DISTINCT
                               acct_month
                       ,        salesperson_name
                       FROM        period
                       );Depending on the details of your case, there may be a better way, such as a 3-way join.

Broadcasting from Portal - Email Zip Functionality Issue

After upgrading to BW 7.01 SP7, the functionality to send a zip broadcast email with multiple Excel files is not working properly. The broadcast setting in question is based off a query, and is using control query functionality to send out multiple files in Excel format. In the past using the control query has allowed for multiple files to be sent in a zip file, with each file filtered for the selected characteristic in the control query. When the ''As Zip File' checkbox is selected, the output zip file only contains the first value of the characteristic in an Excel spreadsheet. If the 'As Zip File' option is not checked, all Excel files based off the control query are included in the email. Has anyone else encountered this issue?

The problem was that the standard Windows Zip program would not display all the files. Once a 3rd party zip application was installed the files could be displayed.

I am not a guru still would like to answer your query...
You selected Broadcast by E-Mail as the distribution type when you created the broadcast setting then need to send to your systems administrator, he is the one who is responsibile to make this if and then functions coordinate with him-> Various settings need to be made in system administration in order to use information broadcasting. Furthermore, there are a number of broadcast functions that can be made by business experts and in system administration.
If you want to guide him then.. when you make the precalculations for setting the broadcast there in Variable Assignment you can mention this as a formula
Variable Assignment: You can create values for the BI objectu2019s input-ready variables (Query, Query View, Report, or Web Application). The BI object is precalculated using these variable values. These variable values are set whenever an online link is opened.
Take from Variant: You can select from a variant for the BI object (Query, Query View, Report, or Web Application). The BI object is precalculated with the values of the variant. These variable values are set in accordance with the variant whenever an online link is opened
To be honest I think Basis should help you trace where exactly to mention such request...

its very simple. just go to any of the form and on the top left side you will find a icon for "post new topic" if you click that that will take you to new post and there you can type yopu question. if the radio button below that windo showing to mark it as question is clicked then you can reward points to the answers. then your post will be displayed as a seperate thread with the subject that you have given while creating it.
and for viewing the answers its same as what you did with this post. just click on the topic like you did now.

Broadcasting query-Broadcast type "Broadcast E-Mail (Bursting)" not found.

Dear All,
I had been going through a number of posts in SDN all of which speak about the setting which gives the options of sending query output via email to selected users based upon say a cost centre one is associated with.
But I cannot see this option "Broadcast E-Mail (Bursting)" in the distribution type.
I reached the broadcasting screen by Query Designer-> Publish-> BEx Broadcasting.
Is it that a precalculated server setup is required to get this distribution type ?
From what I know, a precalculated server is required only for broadcasting Workbooks and not required for query.
Or am I missing something in getting to this Broadcasting type.

Hi all,
I finally found the reason for non dispaly of that distribution type.
"Make sure that you have administrator authorization for broadcasting. You need authorization object S_RS_ADMWB with field RSADMWBOBJ = BR_SETTING.
The Broadcast E-Mail, Broadcast to Portal, and Broadcast to Printer distribution types are intended for all users.
All other distribution types listed below allow users to perform administrative tasks and are, therefore, only available to users with the appropriate authorization"
I have SAP ALL in my sandbox and all the distribution types are available
