Broadcasting a satellite TV to website?

Hello,
I have a Twinhan satellite TV installed on my PC, I want to use it as a broadcasting source to Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder. Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder displays this device "DTV-DVB 1027 analog video capture", and gives me a blue screen. Any suggestions ?

1) Yes. It is best if it is on a second tv. If you change the channel it will change for them & viceversa. The administrator can disconnect whoever is watching, if they need to.
2) The box is connected to the receiver/DVR unused outputs, either s-video, RCA jacks or RF. You can even connect an antenna directly to it if you only want OTA reception. It needs to be connected to a router/modem via eithernet. You load the Slingplayer software on your computer to watch within a window or full screen. You will need a Finder ID for the Slingbox you are trying to watch.
3) I have the Classic and have had it for over a year. It looks like the AV would work for you unless you want HD. Then you would want the Pro. Any of them will work with the Mac Slingplayer software.

I am looking for some support information on setting up a

So if you want to stream via FMLE, you check the "Stream to Flash Media Server". For FMS URL: you need to put "rtmp://mysite.com/live" where mysite.com is domain name of your hosted FMS meaning when you connect using rtmp://mysite.com/live it should connect to your Flash Media Server.
Stream: you can put any stream name of your choice provided your hosted FMS Provider is ok with it. Its basically name for the published stream

Trouble with Satellite A215-S4757 - websites have been not responding and hanging

I've run computer virus scans, and diagnostic programs and the only thing that comes up is that the intel 82852/82855 gm/gme graphics controller is not working properly. I've updated it in device manager and it says it is up to date. Don't even know if this is the problem. The only code it gives is a code 10. Any help would be appreciated

As mentioned there is only one upgradeable memory slot and you could use the 200-Pin PC2700 (333Mhz) DDR SODIMM modules.
Usually its not matter what manufacture it is. Only the memory specifications are important.

Hardware for satellite or cable streaming

We are interested in purchasing FMS and I'm wondering if there is a way we can have our FMS server on a VMWare Host and have some kind of hardware stream our satellite or cable feed to the server?

Toshiba TV with older Mac Mini

Hi,
I was thinking of buying a HD TV by Toshiba that claims it can be connected to a Computer (makes no mention of Mac) using it’s “PC INPUT (15-PIN D-SUB)“ port. I’ve seen others mention using HDMI instead. What port on my older Mac Mini would I connect to? I think the video port is an HD monitor out.
Anyone have any experience with this? I wanted to use the TV as a monitor for the Mini some of the time.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

All minis have had some form of DVI up until the most recent model. DVI can provide either an analog or digital signal, and because of the ubiquity of VGA monitors the early minis came with a DVI to VGA adapter. The same DVA connection however can deliver a digital signal if the video hardware in the computer supports it, which the minis always have. Audio is not included in this type of connection however, although some TVs support using a combined HDMI and secondary audio input. Many times one HDMI is specifically grouped with a set of RCA inputs on the back for this purpose.
The big difference in how you connect is that most standard video devices sources have historically used an overscan method of image delivery. The image is actually larger than the screen area you will be presented, so the TV overlaps the outer part beyond the actual viewing area. This is largely an artifact of when CRT TVs had fairly widely varied true display areas, and even broadcast equipment couldn't provide a perfectly consistent image area. Because this practice is still used, most video input methods designed for 'dumb' video source like broadcast, cable, satellite, or set top boxes and players use an overscan method. Some TVs allow you to adjust this for the normal video type inputs, like composite, component, S-video, and HDMI. Computers have basically always used a pixel for pixel image rendering model, so VGA as an almost exclusively computer standard does not use overscan. Thus, when a TV has VGA, that input does not use an overscan method to display the image.

Multiple Webcams in Flash AS3

Hi,
So I have seen other people with this problem and with all my
searching haven't found a solution on the web. I am trying to set
up an array of webcams feeding into flash at the same time but cant
get it to recognize more then one usb cam at a time. Since the
flash camera class is based on the drivers list instead of the
camera I can only get it to recognize different camera types. My
thought is that since it is returning an array of names maybe it is
a multidimensional array and can be given a second ID some how but
I havent found anyway to do it. Any help ideas would be much
appreciated. Below is what I have thus far.

Multiple USB webcams in Flash Player 10

How to set up multiple USB webcams for flash player 10 on OSX Leopard? There is only one item appearing in the player's webcam list as "USB Video Class Video" although I have 3 cameras attached on my mac. (Macbook Pro 2,4 GHz Core 2 Duo)
When I use VMWare with Window XP SP3, the system detects all my webcams and I see 3 webcams in the player's list but I only get one cam's signal as clicking on each list item.

I need help with my FPS

Hello thanks for looking at this thread.. first of all dont mind the screenname. ._. all my usual screenames were taken so I got frustrated and banged my keyboard and accidently hit enter. -_- no idea how to change that
anyway here is my problem...
I want to broadcast pc games on a website called, Justin.tv short called JTV.
I got everything set up as I want it. and everything works perfect except for the FPS and bitrate.
The problem is that the FPS is not consistent. Its only consistent at 8.00 FPS higher then that, and it keep jumping between 5 and the desired FPS.
Now the same is with my bit rate. I imagine thats normal as it depends what it is on your screen.
I tried a bunch of differnt settings and found that the FPS is only stable at 8 and below, which is not good for broadcasting video games as you can imagine. ive tried putting more CPU on the FMLE didnt work... and all a bunch of other things I cant remember. ._.
I am using VHScrCap as my capture device and using stereo mix as my audio capture. format is H.264..
I hope someone can help me with this problem.

Input size at 240x180 (normally 320x240) still same problem.
Input size at 80x60 problem still persistets, I see no apparant improvement what so ever. so still switching between 5 and the desired FPS which is 20.

Is Flash Right For Me?

For the past 7 years i've been a collector of Old Time Radio
broadcasts. I have a website that I would like to create a media
player on that will stream random episodes out of my collection.
Here's what I need it to do:
1. Play media that is hosted on a server other than the web
server. (It's actually going to stream from a streamload account)
I would also like to have 2 options for the stream:
a. Play the episode of the day (with a link to a
discussion/comments page for that episode.)
b. Play a random episode
2. Shuffle / play songs randomly from a playlist(s)
3. Read and display the ID3 info for the current file.
4. Create a link so that the currently playing file can be
downloaded.
It would be nice if I could:
Load multiple playlists so that I don't have to put my entire
collection in one playlist. This would probably help with the speed
of the site as well. I have over 60 gigs of OTR which would make
for a rather large playlist.
If you know of any good resources for learning how to do this
in flash that would be great as well.

Flash would certainly do all the things you list about (you
may have a slight problem loading material from another server as
Flash has a built in security issue about this but you can work
around it), my only comment is that you would be on a steep
learning curve to get a point where you could develop your
application unless you are already fairly good with object oriented
programming.

Monitoring data changes

can anyone tell how to write code for monitoring dbf files changes.
for example :
I have stock.dbf like this:

if one of the field (stock, price) changes the application automatically send the item that changes to another database.

I did a similar project. The stock information is broadcast from satellite.
You shoud use a thread to scan that table per n seconds, (for instance 5 second), and get a snapshot, then compare it with the prior snapshot. If found changed row, synchronize those updated row to another database. Becase your stock.dbf table includes only about 6000? rows(one row per firm), it's easy to do full table scan without CPU burden.

There is no work around. You would look to use a service, like Twitch, you get a embed code for the live stream, you put that on a page and away you go. All depends on the service your using.

Why won't Firefox play mp4 from my website using xplornet satellite?

I can play mp4's on my website using Firefox and dial in. When I try and use xplornet sattellite it doesn't see them .It will open wmv. If I use Explorer and teh satellite I can play them. Many people with different operating systems and browsers can play them.
What do I have to add, change or do for Firefox to play mp4 from my website? We have loaded the latest Firefox and it still doesn't work. It ha sto do with the satellite and Firefox. We must be missing some plug in, add on or something else.

I think the problem is your OS. Firefox supports playback of H264 encoded video (mp4) but only where the ability to decode the stream is already included in the Operating System or in the hardware.
This means that it will work for Windows Vista and above but not for XP since XP doesn't include the decoder.

Toshiba website doesn't recognize my serial number of Satellite A215-S7428

Odd issue. Toshiba website doesn't recognize my serial number. Has anyone encounted that? I assume alpha characters are upper case. Serial number is 9 characters long with alpha characters at either end of string.

The Satellite A215-S7428 seems to be designed for the US market and if you need any information, drivers, tools or want to register the warranty then you should use the Toshiba US website!!!!
