Why do I have a broken chain where a graphic suppose to be?

I solved my broken chain problem with iTunes. My issue was that images were not displayed in iTunes and all of my album art in iTunes disappeared. Additionally, iPhoto would not recognize and import jpegs. I tried to use Quicktime, and Quicktime would not work. So I trashed my current version of Quicktime and re-installed the most current version of Quicktime. Volia, iTunes now displays images correctly and iPhoto works! I am Mac newbie by the way however I hope this helps others with the same broken chain issue.

Broken chain graphic in music store

Help, all the album artwork in the music store has been replaced by a broken chain graphic - what's going on???

The symbol means that the music store is unable to get the file. Is your internet connection slow? Is there a firewall preventing access to the store? If you are using Windows XP (SP2), do you have it set up so that iTunes is allowed to use the internet connection?

ITunes Store graphics showing up only as broken chain.

All of the graphics on my iTunes Store are showing up as broken chains and the buttons (Subscribe, Buy Now, etc.) are red "x"s. I installed the new iTunes, thinking this was the problem, but it still isn't showing up as anything.

You need to go to your software update and update to the latest version of Quicktime. I had the same issue and once I updated to the latest version of Quicktime, the graphics all showed up again and it worked fine.

Images in slideshow became BROKEN CHAINS. Suddenly won't work. Please Help!

I need to give this iDVD to my friend who's leaving the country TODAY. Your help is much appreciated:
I made the DVD and it was all running smoothly and seemed to burn OK, but when it was done burning most of the pictures (but not all) in the slideshows turned into a broken chain with black and yellow stripes on the top and bottom. Why did this happen?? I don't know why they became this, there was no problem before. Some of the pictures are OK, seems random.
If you could tell me how to get my pictures back to replace these broken chains so I can reburn the DVD where all the pictures work. Please Help!

No art work in iTunes, lots of broken chain icons

When we start up iTunes and go to the iTunes store, no artwork or photographs appear, and in their place there are "broken chain" icons. In addition the iTunes Store window is without color; it is black & white & gray. The store seems to work normally otherwise. Does anyone know the problem/solution?

"Broken chain link" icon appears when trying iTunes store

It's really slow going trying to reach the store right now. When I do, I get all these broken chain link icons in place of pictures. Also, my podcasts are loading in a lightning-fast 45 minutes each. This is a fairly new developement, it's been about a week now. I can't find much helpful info around the forums so far. Anyone?

I have a few questions since most likely we will have to figure this out on our own. I have this problem occur a few times in a day however it is random.
My system:
Vista Ultimate 32bit
Antivirus: Kaspersky Internet Security 8.0
Web browswer: Exporer 8.0.6
Video Card: Nvidia GeForce 9600GT
Ram: 4GB
Genius Settings: off
Itunes View: Cover Flow
Keyboard / Mouse: Logitech bluetooth MX5500
I have also experienced very sluggish performance with itunes store browsing/serach and have yet to figure that out. It started with Itunes 7
If we can find a common issue we may be able to figure this out as a group.

Broken chain icon

Downloded new iTune release but now I cant enter my country music store(italy). In Music Store section, my country is now shown with a broken chain: what does it means? With previous versions everithing worked well for years...... Somebody may please help?

Not likely: 600x600 is the specified size, but the Store will display images in odd sizes too, though it may distort them. It's probably just the same glitch that is annoying a lot of other people, though as the OP hasn't given us any details it's not possible to check whether it's something wrong at his end.

My iDVD Themes Appear As Broken Chain

I just purchased a new iMac...Love it. The trouble is that when I open iDVD, my themes appear as a broken chain. Can anyone tell me what happened and how I might fix it? Thanks! I really appreciate it.

I Tunes Store "Broken Chain" Icons

Hi All,
When I go to the I-Tunes Music store all of the pictures show a Broken Chain picture. I have completely removed I-Tunes from my windows XP Pro based machine and reloaded it. No help. Any suggestions

Podcast- cover shows BROKEN CHAIN

Typical, the only podcast I want to subscribe too has a broken chain as cover and will not allow me to download. No trouble with any other site. I have latest quick time etc.

The server that hosts that podcast may be down or busy. Try waiting a day or so before subscribing again.
If you still can't play the podcast, you can have the Podcast reviewed. To submit a request to have this podcast reviewed, follow these steps:
1) On the iTunes Store, navigate to the podcast you're experiencing the issue with.
2) Click the Report a Concern link in the upper-righter corner of the podcast's page.
3) From the drop-down menu, select "Difficulty playing episode".
4) Enter your email address and any additional comments you have.
5) Click Submit.

Godaddy SSL Problem - broken chain

Hey,
I have a broken chain between the server certificate and the intermediate certificate. You can see by going here: http://www.digicert.com/help/ and putting in: plantationflorist.com
Godaddy support was unable to fix and sent me instructions (for windows) on adding the Godaddy class 2 certificate, which I figured out and added. Did not help in any way.
They finally gave up and told me that I had a server misconfiguration... meaning they don't use macs and don't know how to fix it.
I am running 10.6.6 server on a mac mini server.
Any thoughts?

This is sure different than the experience we had with GoDaddy and their SSL Cert installation.
They gave us a document that walked us through all of it, there was only some syntactical differences in the names of the buttons or fields.

Broken chain picture links on my itunes store account

When I pull up my iTunes store there are no pictures and instead there is a grey outline of where the picture should be and a broken chain. What does this mean and how do i fix it??

Thanks Nick - but why is the iTunes Store okay on the other (main admin) user's account running off of the same HD? I think it's a Quicktime (component) thing but don't know why and still don't know how to fix the broken link problem in my iTunes Store account. Have re-downloaded QT 7.5 but still no joy. It seems that all the QT components are there and okay when logged into the main user's account but when I switch to mine all the QT components have "no entry signs" on them presumably meaning that I do not have the correct permissions to access them. Have tried changing all the 'Sharing & Permissions' preferences to 'Read & Write' privilege's but to no avail. Have also tried copying duplicates of all the components through the sharing folder but it just reverses the problem. Have also tried copying all the QT components through my iDisk but again no joy. They just seem to turn into 'folders' with "no entry signs" icon'd on them. Arrrrgggghhhhh!!!

Broken Chain logo

I am trying to burn a slideshow on iDVD. It appears to burn properly but then when I try to play the disc, a broken chain appears. What does this mean? How do I resolve? Thanks for any help.

After it burned, the broken chain logo appeared where the slide show was supposed to be on my computer screen. And then when I took the disc out and re-inserted it and tried to play the DVD on my computer, the broken chain logo appeared again in the place where the slide show was supposed to be. I have burned other slide shows and this has never happened before. Thanks for any advice.. HELP!!!

Why did I loose all photos in DVD project and see only broken chain symbol?

I opened my DVD project to see only broken chain symbols where previously I had thumbnail photo images. My previous work to nearly finish this project was gone! Then, today, I opened another DVD project, a larger one, that I'd worked on also this week, and found the same thing had happened to it! I have no idea what happened. Help!

Additional details: This is getting worse. Today, I see that ALL my existing DVD projects have lost photos and have only CHAINS. I get this message: "Assets have been found in your project which have been modified externally since this project was used the last time". Do you want to automatically update your project? To which lately I am answering- Cancel. Previously, in one case, I answered, "Update." WWWV
I can see this is very bad news, but I still don't know what happened.
