Broken software Creative Zen Mi

Hello there,
I'm originally from Holland, and I'm doing my internship here. But it seems my software, necessary to use my mp3 player properly, is not working anymore. The CD-ROM has got a scratch on it, and I can't install it anymore on my new PC here in London.
Does anyone know if I can buy new software for my Creative Zen Micro MP-3 player? And is it possible to receive new software for free? Furthermore, where can I get this software? Note: I bought my MP-3 player July last year in Holland.

Creative Zen Micro Software Iss

I've had my Creative Zen Micro for almost a year now, and I installed the software on my computer. But a couple weeks ago, my family bought a new computer. I've lost the cd to install the zen organizer and I was wondering what I could do?
Am I out of luck? Or is there software I can download to get it on the new computer.

Go to Support-> Downloads, and in the list, select your player (MP3 Players, Zen, Zen Micro). Click on Next, then click on Go. Then download these files, and install them in this order:

Lost software for Creative Zen

I had to have everything wiped off of my computer and have it re-placed. Some how I have thrown out my disc that came with my Creative Zen MP3 player. My computer is no longer seeing my player!
What can I do?

Problems with Creative Zen V plus software

*Problems with Creative Zen V plus software Dear friends,
I'm trying to install the software included with creative Zen V Plus but it is not possible - it stops at 63%
I get this following error:
"CTIntrfu.dll can not be installed"
"DoInstall fails to launch E:\PDE\CTXInst\Setup.inx"
I'm using "Windows XP 2002 home edition - serivce pack 2"
I'll appreciate any help.

Hey Guys,Here is a link to instructions on how How to obtain and to install USB 2.0 drivers in Windows XP Service Pack . http://support.microsoft.com/default...;EN-US;Q329632?Win2000 and later have the capability to support USB 2.0, but USB 2.0 was released after XP was release, so there weren't any drivers installed before Windows XP service pack 2. Make sure you've installed all your windows updates including service pack 2. You can check if you have SP2 by right-clicking on my computer and choosing "properties", it will say on the general tab. Also the way to tell if you have USB 2.0 drivers installed is to right-click on my choose "Manage", then choose "device manager" look down to "uni'versal serial Bus controllers" and click on the + . This will expand the USB devices. Look for the word "enchanced" (USB enhanced host controller). If you see it, then you have USB 2.0 support. If not, use the link above and get the drivers. COkay, I bought a 2GB Creative Zen four years ago. In those four years, I have bought a new computer, moved twice, and had my hardri've crash twice. So I don't have the software on my computer, nor do I have the CD to install the software. What can I do now to get the software on my computer?

Creative Zen Vision: M Software problems, player not detec

Creative Zen V software compatibil

Hi All,
I purchased a Creative Zen V from the UK which included the bundled software on a cd. Unfortunately the software is compatible with Windows XP. I have Windows 2000 and am unable to install the software. I have searched the internet but come up empty. Any advice other than changing my OS Thanks.

I know that it's not what you want to hear but the requirements for your player state WinXP SP or higher. It's because it is treated as an MTP device and needs the features built into WinXP for that to work.
There is some info in the Knowledge Base about using the EasyStart CD that you should have got so go there and search for SID83.

Problem with Creative Zen Micro software detecting certain C

Hi,
I hope someone can help me. I recently purchased a Creative Zen Micro MP3 player. So far, I have very few complaints, apart from the fact that while travelling on the bus, it won't seem to detect any radio stations.
The problem re: the software though is that it will only detect the last track on three of my CD's. None of these CD's are damaged in any way, but all are from the same record label. Anyway, I was wondering if anybody had any tips on how I might be able to transfer these albums onto my player?

Creative Zen 8GB-Software from CD will not install under vi

DemoShield Player has stopped working is the message that I get when I try to install the spoftware that I got wioth my Creative zen 8GB. The OS is windows Vista. Any idea. Creatve Autorun utility kick off fine but the next screen I get is that it cannot install the software!

yeah my creative zen micro came with the disk to install the thing onto the computer but its cracked and will not work. What should i do know how do i put songs onto it without having it installed on my computer, and can i get a new disk from creative? also a buddy of mine has a creative zen touch and if i used that disk and put it on my computer would it work with the zen micro? Creative Zen: Vision M... Faulty Wires? My player is pretty broken! Please He

Hello and thank you for reading this post!?My player,Creative Zen: Vision M... (which i have not dropped much and when i did it was only on to a couch or a bed) has been playing up over the last few months, it started out with when i push down on the headphone jack when it's inside the player, it freezes. the problem has gradually got worse, where now if i even lightly touch anywhere on the right hand side of the player (when looking at the front, where the screen is) the whole thing freezes, this can even occur when im not touching it... just through the weight of the player itself.. it also happens when im turning it on and of so sometimes it can be accidently left on for hours, frozen. The only way i can listen to music or do anything with it is if i put my finger nails underneath the play/pause button and lift it up really high. I would?appreciate any advice or help?anyone?could give me. Thanks.

There are a multitude of problems that could be causing your player to exhibit this behavior in addition to battery failure, including the failure of the main logic board. If the player has been dropped a few times, exposed to excessi've heat, or high humidity/water, the problem might not be the battery. On the other hand, if the battery has been allowed to fully exhaust on a regular basis and left uncharged for long periods, it is possible that the battery could be dead, but LIon batteries usually last at least 2-3 years with regular use and normal recharging practices if they haven't been abused.

Hi! I am new to all these MP3 players (I am still stuck in the CD player era) but I have been wanting to upgrade to a new, high tech player. After researching for a LONG time (I have considered the Creative Zen micro, Creative Zen Micro photo, Ipod mini, Ipod Nano, 4th gen Ipod, Cowan Iaudio, Olympus M:Robe500i, and Archos Gimini 402) I have concluded with the Creative products, that unlike the Ipods, have more features for the same price or lower. I briefly thought about the IAudio and the Archos since they play movies but decided that they were too expensi've. Plus, it having a removable battery was enticing since do not li've int he United States and I wouldn't have to be sending things in for repair or replacement of battery.
Now, I was very pumped about the Zen Micro but have since learned that there are a few defects.
the Creative Zen micro, from what I gathered, has a problem that the player stops working and only boots up to the Creative logo. I think I understand that this comes from something disconnecting from the HD inside. ANOTHER problem seems to be the earphone jack breaking and being pushed in.
I want to know if this is fixed in any of the versions of the Zen Micros. I think I heard that the 5GB ones are the ones that do this. If anything, i would get the 6 GB version and would like to know if the 6GB Zen Micros do this. It is at Best Buy for $50 plus tax ($60+ total).
I am also considering ordering the Zen Micro Photo (though it costs $40 bucks more just for color) form Best Buy ($202 total). Does the Zen Micro Photo fix the problems of the past players? Does it have any new defects?
Another player I am interested in is the Zen Sleek, which is the same price of the Zen Micro Photo, but has 2 GB more (though I don't really need it). It doesn't have color but whatever. Does this player have any of the previous defects or any defects at all? Can I use it to transfer files, like the the Micros can (I assume the Micro Photo can also) without having to install software on a PC (like the whole partition thing from the Micros). ANY HELP would be appreciated. I am a very cautious buyer and I do not want to hassle with stuff. I li've in the Dominican republic and I do NOT want to go shipping stuff overseas to get it fixed. That is why I am buying a Zen product, since it has removable Batteries and I don't have to send it in to get replaced. I do not want to spend 00 bucks and 3 months of waiting for things.

Not sure about being pushed in, but the solder connection on some Micros was too weak and easily broken.

No-one knows for sure if it was fixed. Creative Support didn't confirm or deny it had been fixed on the board here. Others have had emails from Creative saying that it has been fixed in newer players.

People say the sound quality isn't as great as past players, and there is some slight noise when the backlight is turned on. Aside from not being able to view photos and listen to music at the same time. Search back for reviews by other folks.

The Sleek seems to be a great player. I don't recall seeing any common issues with it.

It doesn't have a removable battery.
It has the MTP/PFS firmware that means you can only use it to copy audio files with Win XP.
It has the USB mass storage function that means you can copy data files to it with Win 98/Me/2000 and XP.
Also, on any defect, what seems to be the percentage? I know creative has not acknowledged any defects but there obviously are, since things happen to the same product, the same way, the same place.
No-one except Creative knows these figures.

I have a CreativeZen 4GB player with Vista 64-Bit Operating system (Main System).
Yes, I have followed the instructions step-by-step, downloaded the new firmware first, then, connected my ZEN player, double-clicked the "ZEN_PCFW_L22__2_03" downloaded file.
Note : No other programs were running in the backround, even turned off installed firewall and anti-virus software. Also, tried this new firmware in a Windows XP (SP2) computer system and a Notebook Vista 32-Bit computer system. Yes! I only have one player connected. Same result (See image below).
I left it sit for one hour and did not move, same result (See image below).
I tried this in safemode (All OS systems), same result (See image below).

Re: New Creative ZEN Firmware .2.03" firmware does not work$ I updated my Zen 32GB using Vista x64 so it can work under some situations. Can't say my upgrade went problem-free but it did work in the end.
You might try some of the following (no promises they will help, but can't really hurt):
Re-download the firmware updater. Maybe you got a bad download.
Make sure your Zen is directly connected to a system USB port (i.e. not to a port on a monitor, keyboard, ext USB hub, etc.)
Try running the firmware update as Administrator if you aren't already
Try uninstalling the Creative drivers before the update.
In my case I got stuck on a message that another application was using my Zen. Turned out the simple act of hooking up the player resulted in Vista running a headless "wmplayer.exe *32" process. I had to manually kill it from TaskManager in order to proceed. Even then the first update attempt ended with the Zen reporting a firmware problem and rebooting into the Recovery Menu. I had to use Reload Firmware to erase what it had and then try again. Second time was the charm.
After all that I can't for the life of me see any changes/improvements in the new firmware. The forum is full of gripes and wishlists yet none of them complain about the radio functionality. I've used it almost every day for year without issue (aside from the rare Zen hang/crash when messing with the headphone jack and/or sliding the power switch). Thank goodness after waiting 0- months since the last update they got around to fixing something nobody noticed was broken. /2?:smileyvery-happy:
