Hi Friends,
my exact requirement -
I have a form with 2 buttons -
First Button -
I have to create a external table,the file that is associated with external table is browsed in the form through button,after the file is browsed ,the same file has to be placed in unix directory.
Second button -
This button is to execute a packaged procedure which will be using the data from the file associated with the external table that we placed in the unix directory ( which i explained under button1)

Browse and Upload

Hey guys,
Im trying to create a browse and upload interface on my website but to no avail. Creating the buttons worked; but making them do what they are suppose to do doesnt. For example, i created a Browse and Upload button. The browse button would search for the file, but the upload button do nothing at all. How do i enable upload to work? Can it be done by html coding? Is it some settings that must be enabled on the server itself?

I don't think I quite understand what you are trying to do? You created a browse function, do you mean search function so you can search for something on your website? Also is the upload function so people can upload content to your server?
To get the upload function to work you will need a lot more than just simple html. Html is not a programming language it is a markup language that just tells the browse what to show. You would need PHP or JS to get an upload function to work with your server.
I bet there are a ton of tutorials on youtube. Try searching for 'how to create an upload function on my website'.
This is beyond what Muse can do. I hope I understood what you were asking. If not please give me more details.

Folder mgt and uploading files

Regarding Folder management, i can create folders in content management server and upload them required file .
is that only possible through contentmgt server ? in liferay . when i login into my app . i can goto fileupload page and create folder and upload file i have the file upload role and can check them in the content pages through browsing .... how can i add this feature in my webcenter application. it seems to me that people who want to manage folder and upload file files into them , they had to login into content management ser instead of our application not sure how can i merge both features in my application? i;m not please suggest

Isolated: WEP is messing up my web browsing and uploads. Why?

My web browsing and uploads keep "hanging" when accessing my AP Extreme wirelessly.
A straight HTML downloads fine. But a page that has code that talks back to the server (e.g. a Google docs page) hangs. Also it seems that javascript navigation that sends info back up to the server also hangs.
I just discovered after resetting my base station, this only happens when I use WEP encryption.
I don't want to leave my network open. How do I fix this?

If you search you'll find lots of complaints about this very problem. I'm not sure that a single, specific solution was ever reported.
I suffered from this problem also. To me it seemed to be related to the fact that I had the "Create closed network" option selected.
It also seemed that I had to make sure I entered the IP address of my router, but in my case that is because the AEBNs are not providing my DHCP service - my DSL router is.
There is also an Airport Extreme update out on Apple's web site that may help.
Whatever the problem(s), in my case turning off "Create closed network" and entering my router's IP address in the AEBN configuration seemed to solve the issue.
And, by the way, it was Google that I was having a problem with, and Google that everyone else was having a problem with!

I had a Palm the I used for work and travel it had a very nice application called DOCUMENTS TO GO. It allowed you to upload, view, and edit .doc, .xls, and .ppt files. this was very handy when traveling. Also, I could sync my palm with my iMac and work PC using bluetooth, took care of the file transfers as well. I would like to have the same capability on my iPhone. I bought it to replace all of my old stuff i need it to the same as my old stuff. I hope that Apple reads this and gets on the ball. Until then I still have to carry my Palm or thumb drive on trips.

i would kind of like a mini form, like failblog has. they have a pic, and then some comments, how do you do that? i don't need them to log in or anything, i'll just have a name section, then the comment area.

Upload file form problem in JSP portlet !!!

Hi!
I use "OrdHttpUploadFile" class for upload file in JSP portlet to database!
Problem is that this class must use FORM ENCTYPE="multipart/form-data" whis I suppose dont work in portlet!?
Which FORM ENCTYPE should I use in portlet! Or there is some other solution for upload file in JSP portlet!?

Sorry for the delay for reply.
My scenario is in 2 phases
Phase 1. I am taking input from the front end using jsp and writing the contents in to a file and then downloading that file on to my desktop.(Now let us say this one as file downloading)
Phase 2. Now I had designed a page,which locates the downloaded file by using the following tag.
<td><input type ="file" name ="xmlFileName"></td>
In the downloaded xml file I am having applicationid. I am checking whether the application id already xists in the database (or)not.
If already exists in the database , the end user will get one confirmation msg,saying application already exists in the database.
If the user clicks ok again the request has to go to the servlet.
Now the actual problems are
1. When I locate the file on the desktop let us say c:\desktop\krish and click on submit button, it is locating to the file that is present in the server(this is the case for the first time means before checking the application id in the database).
2. when the end user clicks "ok" on the confirmation box , I am not getting the file name,that has to be submitted to the servlet.
Can u plz help me how to resolve this issue.

Remember that at the end of the day, JSP results in an HTML page so you are subject to the same restrictions as a plain ol' HTML page. So the short answer is you can't.
You can create a (signed) java applet and embed that on the page to possibly do what you want.

Download and upload files

Hi!
I need to develop an application where the users want to be able do download a RTF document, modify it, and save it back into the application. I know how to download a RTF document, stored as a BLOB in a table, so the document opens in a new window and the user can change it. Now, I won't the user to save the file on the disk and then upload the file through the upload page in the application, but rather to just click "save" in MS Word and close it, and then somehow the file should automatically upload in the database. Does anyone ever created something like this, using some Java Applet on the client PC maybe?

using Flash player 10, requires Vista 64-bits to work without

I read at Adobe troubleshooting about a similar problem; that
Flash player causes Internet to crash or freeze. Maby I should
inform Adobe support about my problem.

Do a search for servlets generating MS Office files. There are packages that can generate .pdf, .xsl and .doc files.
When users uploads file, you have access to file's name. Use filename extension to determine what kind of file it is.

Browsing and opening files from a file server

I am interested if it is possible with AIR to browse files from a file server that is connected to a local network and open them. F.e. I want to create an application that opens template files with their native programs and save them on the file server under different name.

AIR 2 (now at labs.adobe.com) has features you are looking for. An AIR 2 application can open a file in the default system application registered for the file type. (The file server must be a mounted volume on the computer.)
An extended desktop application (an AIR 2 application that is installed with a native installer) can communicate with another application. So, if the AIR (extended desktop) application knows the path to the native application, it can open that application and communicate with it. If the native application has APIs for opening and saving files, the AIR application can communicate with it using those APIs. (So, this functionality depends on the capabilities of the native application.)

Since downloading Firefox, I cannot send email attachments and upload files. How do I fix this?

Hi , i'm bulding an application using swing , what i'm having is 2 textfield and 2 buttons . and now what i want is , when i click the button1 i should be able to browse through my machine and should be able to load a file to the application .
The same way like a notepad will be loading a TXT file , can u please help me .

reading the file to the text are is not a problem ,
but the problem comes wen i want to surf through the
machine and wanna locate the file to get the file
