Upload file form problem in JSP portlet !!!

Hi!
I use "OrdHttpUploadFile" class for upload file in JSP portlet to database!
Problem is that this class must use FORM ENCTYPE="multipart/form-data" whis I suppose dont work in portlet!?
Which FORM ENCTYPE should I use in portlet! Or there is some other solution for upload file in JSP portlet!?
Thanks!
Kristjan

Thanks for u r reply Mr.Prasad.
Sorry for the delay for reply.
My scenario is in 2 phases
Phase 1. I am taking input from the front end using jsp and writing the contents in to a file and then downloading that file on to my desktop.(Now let us say this one as file downloading)
Phase 2. Now I had designed a page,which locates the downloaded file by using the following tag.
                    <td><input type ="file" name ="xmlFileName"></td>
    In the downloaded xml file I am having applicationid. I am checking whether the application id already xists in the database (or)not.
If already exists in the database , the end user will get one confirmation msg,saying application already exists in the database.
If the user clicks ok again the request has to go to the servlet.
Now the actual problems are
1. When I locate the file on the desktop let us say c:\desktop\krish and click on submit button, it is locating to the file that is present in the server(this is the case for the first time means before checking the application id in the database).
2. when the end user clicks "ok" on the confirmation box , I am not getting the file name,that has to be submitted to the servlet.
Can u plz help me how to resolve this issue.

Krish

    Hi all,
    I have a problem with upload file using JSF RI 1.1 + tomahawk.
    I think that the problem is in the web.inf filter definition because I get these warns:

    17:11:52,578 WARN ExtensionsFilter:34 - Please adjust your web.xml to use org.apache.myfaces.webapp.filter.ExtensionsFilter
    And also this error when I click in a button to go to the upload page:
    16:47:47,250 WARN ReducedHTMLParser:468 - Invalid HTML; bare lessthan sign found at line 127
    When I click in the button to go to the upload pages the first time i get this error ad with the second click I get the right page.
    It seems like he go to the filter the first time and then to the faces servlet the second, it is possible?
    this is the code of the web.xml:

    I don't have org.apache.myfaces.webapp.filter.ExtensionsFilter in my libraries, I only have org.apache.myfaces.component.html.util.ExtensionsFilter. I also tried to change it, but it still don't work...
    I tried to redo all the process, and now I can't even access the action method in my backing bean....
    I repost the the file that I use:

  • Question about upload file to sever in jsp.

    i found some articles about upload file in jsp, and most of suggested that the third party classes will be used.
    but i want to know the basic technology behind them, for example what kind of class needed ( using java.io.* as usual)
    and what the process for writing a file to sever.
    any document or url link useful will be very welcomed.
    best regards

    Uploading a file is similar to sending any other kind of data, except that it must be encoded differently than a standard HTML form... Typically you will set up your form like this:
    <form action="/upload" enctype="multipart/form-data" method="POST">
    <input type="file" name="myFile">
    </form>
    The enctype declaration is necessary -- your file won't arrive intact any other way. However, the JSP/Servlet specs don't provide any code to deal with forms which are encoded this way, so things like request.getParameter() don't work. You will either have to roll your own code, or use a third party library.
    For more information, see RFC 1867, File upload in HTTP:

  • Session problem in JSP portlet

    Hi,
    I have a jsp portlet. In this jsp i am creating a session and i am putting some value in session. There is navigation from this jsp to second jsp(not portlet) and from this jsp to third jsp(again this is also not a portlet). Now in third jsp i am trying to retrieve the value from session. But i am getting null value.
    In provider i given <session>true</session> element. While registering provider with portal given login frequency 'once per user session'.
    The code in first jsp is:
    PortletRenderRequest portletRequest = (PortletRenderRequest) request.getAttribute(HttpProvider.PORTLET_RENDER_REQUEST);
    ProviderSession mySession = portletRequest.getSession();
    if(mySession != null){
    mySession.putValue(PortletRendererUtil.portletParameter(portletRequest.getPortletReference(), "const"), str);
    From the code i found that the session itself is not created.
    Sorry for the lengthy question.
    Pls. help me.
    Rgds,
    CRM.

    To share a session between a web provider and other JSPs or Servlets, you need to make sure the "Same Cookie Domain" checkbox is checked AND your session cookie is scoped to a common domain (eg us.oracle.com)
    See documents on session handling and Integrating Password Protected Applications into Oracle Portal - downloadable from portalstudio.oracle.com.
    review the section on "deep links" in the second article.

  • How to upload files through a servlet/jsp form?

    anyone know basically how to do this?
    i need to write a simple jsp form the can browse for a file on my machine, then upload it to a server in the usual html form manner.
    is this done with an i/o stream?
    thanks for any help!

    jspSmart has a free upload component you can use for HTTP file uploading. (http://www.jspsmart.com )
    Also, O'Reilly has an open source package you can use. (http://www.oreilly.com or http://www.servlets.com )
    Another option is dotJ, which has an upload tag in its tag library. Benefit of this library is that it has a much more compehensive set of JSP tags. (http://www.dotjonline.com )

  • Image Upload - File Size Problem

    Hi,
    I have created an asp image upload page using the toolbox - everything works perfectly unless the image size is over 200KB. If an image is uploaded that exceeds 200KB then the page just empties all of the fields with no error message. I have set the limit within the image upload transaction to 3000KB. Is there something I have to do on IIS to allow larger file size uploads?
    Many thanks in advance
    Scott

    hello friend.
    a simple solution to this..
    are u using win2k3 ?
    i mean whats ur IIS version..
    if its IIS 6 then
    1.> first go to IIS server for the MMC
    2.> then right click and select the box which says allow metabase to be edited while IIS is running..
    3.>go to just go fire ur dreamweaver and browse open this folder.
    c:\windows\system32\inetsrv\metabase.xml
    is also called systempath on system drive
    changed this value
    of AspMaxRequestEntityAllowed
    to
    ="1073741824"
    it should look like this.
    AspMaxRequestEntityAllowed="1073741824"
    if there are mutiple enteries in the XML file u can safely change all these to the same value.
    Enjoy
    Moh!

  • How can we limit uploading file size in portal.

    we have a feature where customers can upload there files, we use portals for uploading files, form which has the file type is posted to a stored procedure and which in turns calls the wwv_things.saveitem.
    we need to restrict a file size and file type for the uploading files, I can restrict the file type with javasript but wanted to find out if oracle portals has any way to restrict the uploading file size,
    thanks and regards,
    Sunil.

    Currently, this is not available. You could have a query that has all RKF as a starting point to achieve this. If you think this would be good to have by default, please log a development request on the OSS Messaging System.

    The result shown is:
    jspSmartUpload : Sample 5
    Display information about Files
    Number of files = 2
    FILE1 = path.txt (240)
    FILE2 = WS_FTP.LOG (146)
    Display information about Requests
    radio = Value 2
    mySimpleSelect = Value 1
    myTextArea = test
    myPASSWORD =
    myMultSelect = Value 3
    myHidden = hidden
    myText = test
    myCheckBox = Value 1
    myCheckBox = Value 2
    myCheckBox = Value 3
    I would like to know if i want to get back the parameters from the form ,
    is that i must use Enumeration.
    Because i have tried request.getParameter() to get the value of radio button, textbox, checkbox and select menu, but it get the null values.
    Also, the function of Enumeration does not get the values of parameter in sequence as html form. e.g.In the html file, the first parameters should be textbox,but it displays the radio button's values first.
    How to solve the problem .
    Thanks

    This sounds like a bug in the smart upload code. I have used this stuff before, but it's probably an older version, so maybe they broke something. Enumerations aren't usually guaranteed to keep things in any particular order. I would say for now, make a method to take the enumeration and a param name to find the value. And write to the JSPSmart people.
