Browser Check please - Safari on IPad

A visitor to http://www.workandpartners.com/ reported to my client that he was unable to see the
F-Source flash navigation on the top of the page.
If you have Safari on an IPad, I would really appreciate a report on your experience.

Not surprising given that Flash is not supported by iPhone, iPod Touch or iPads. And that situation isn't going to change anytime soon.

Flash is noticably absent from certain other mobile web devices too although some run a stripped-down Flash Lite player that only handles simple Flash content.
Flash navigation is a terrible idea anyway. You should be using CSS styled lists.

Browser Check Please

Hello,
This is a work in progress and a learning tool for me. I set
up this site using the html 4.1 transitional option in DW. This
page isn't done yet but I have been checking it on different
browsers and machines. This screenshot is what it is supposed to
look like:

It has been fine on all the browsers I checked, even IE on my
mac, but I tried it on a PC my friend has using IE and the "contact
verbage" is now center aligned, not left, the flash banner on top
(wineglass) is over to the left about an inch covering the logo a
little, and the form entry windows are not ligned up to the left
anymore, they are all uneven. Can anyone tell me if any of these
problems are happening on your browsers and maybe why?

See how the flash banner moved over on top of the logo, and
the verbage moved over to the left. Any ideas why?

This is what I was told:
Double tap the home key...press and hold the icon...when the minus appears on the icon, tap the minus.
This will delete the aforementioned icon from the task bar. When the icon disappears, the browser, or any app, is then closed.
Is that correct?

In order to use Yahoo Mail, please turn Private Browsing off. Please go to Settings » Safari » Private Browsing, and turn it off.
The above message is seen when I am trying to log in to yahoo mail. I am not finding private browsing menu under safari settings. Can some one please guide?

Tap "Private" to turn Private Browsing ON/OFF.

Browsing these forums with the iPad - Safari Crashes

Has anyone noticed less occurance of Safari crashing when browsing these forums and upgrading to iOS 5? I haven't done so yet, and it seems my iPad crashes Safari a lot even after emptying cookies, cache and history and browsing these forums under 3G. Currently on iOS 4.3.1 on first generation 64 GB iPad.

I haven't had any trouble with Safari myself (iPad 2, iOS 5.0.1) but I admit I don't use it that much because I really don't like it. I've found iCab Mobile to be an all around superior browser. I have certainly seen more than one post about Safari crashing, though.

During the minutes needed looking for help, I decided to put the magnetic cover on the screen again, and I connected the iPad to the charger. Whe I did uncover the iPad now for a try with your tip (hold sleep and home buttons for about 10 seconds), it came to life again.

Further to my earlier post, I have just read an entry noting that if you already own a domain name, and ask your hosting service to forward and mask your iWeb '08 created, web.mac.com site to your personal domain, chances are that due to the masking of the site on web.mac.com, Safari browsers interpret the masking as being the end of the site, and as such, just return a blank page?
This may explain the problem. However, call me old fashioned, and possibly a little naive, but surely this cannot be the problem?? It's OK in Firefox!

The feature has been removed to make safari even less useable. You need to download a third party browser like atomic web browser to get the functionality you want back.
Like many new IOS 7 "features", safari on the ipad is a FAIL.
At least you can now bury safari in a folder containing hundreds of icons that you can only view 9 at a time.

Accidentally deleted History folder in Safari on IPad 4.

I must have accidentally deleted the History folder from the Bookmarks/Favorites bar in Safari (iPad 4) and I currently have no way of viewing my web browsing history on the actual iPad. Private browsing most definitely is not the problem, as is the suggestion I keep seeing for this type of question.
Is there anyway I can get my history folder set back up? Here is what I am working with:

Since the introduction of the unified search field, I can no longer view recent searches (previously accessed by clicking on the magnifying glass on the search field). Note that I am not interested in the browsing history, I want to see a list of recent searches as this saves me having to retype my search query each time I want to display the search results. Thank you for your reply but unfortunately this doesn't address my issue. Typing in the unified bar brings up suggestions, bookmarks and history but this seems to be browsing history only (i.e. sites I have actually visited). I still need to retype my search query to display my search results again. I wasn't aware you can't downgrade, isn't that a bit silly? What if there is a major fault or drawback with the new software, are users left with no option but to bear it? Also, upgrades should be an enhancement on a previous version, one would not expect to lose functionality or a feature by upgrading (especially when there is no option to go back)..it poses a risk in performing any future updates if I could potentially lose something I already have!

That's a scam. Reset the browser, and if needed, manually delete its configuration and preference files.

Will Safari on iPad play mov files?

From the forum I see iPad does not play mov format. Is this true with Safari on iPad too? Is there a plugin? Will the latest update fix this?
Only recommendations I have seen on forum is convert to MP4. Not very helpful if browsing the Internet and it is not my content.
