Browser size - actual pixels

hey there,
i want to create a flash site that fits completely into the
browser window (1024x768) witout having to scroll down. how big can
i make the flash document (vertically) and still fit safely on
screen?
thanks
kurt

You can create any size movie, but to fit browser window and
in the same time keep original size of elements, you have to
manually scale background movie.
This is an example from my site
Matter of Time, just try to
resize the browser window:
Stage.align = "LT";
Stage.scaleMode = "noScale";
stageListener = new Object();
stageListener.onResize = onResize;
Stage.addListener(stageListener);
function onResize()
In the browser you can set following settings to avoid scroll
bars and margins:
<body leftmargin="0" topmargin="0" marginheight="0"
marginwidth="0" scroll="no">
Also you have to set 100% for width and height for Flash
object.

  • Get parent control size in pixels

    Hi experts
    How can I retrieve parent control size in pixels?
    Thanks an advice.
    Edited by: Artem Zyuzko on Nov 24, 2011 3:11 PM

    hi John
    I'm using BusinessGraphics control and there is no way to bind a width or height attribute to it - it's not bindable.
    But I need to reduce or extend control to browser window. I rely on do this through wdDoModifyView method.

  • Do I need to reduce the images size in pixels before upload them to M.Me?

    Do I need to reduce the images size in pixels (actual size jpeg 5616 × 3744 pixels/766kb) before upload them from iPhoto to a Mobile Me Gallery?
    Otherwise they will be heavy or the upload process take care of that?
    It would be nice that iPhoto took care and optimize the images to display online without any more work, because I´ve 1200 images to upload and they´re jpegs 5616 × 3744 pixels. It´s just to viewing purposes. Not o download or print.
    Thanks.

    In fact no matter if I use a High or Medium compression size JPEG, the size after upload is the same.
    Starts with 1,5 MB/5600px (high) or 780kb/5600px (medium) JPEG and ends after upload in 115kb for a 1024px image.
    This means that iPhoto auto compress in order to publish to Mobile Me, even if we start with a bigger file.
    I hope this info is useful to others.
    Thanks.

  • Transparent Background Actual Pixels and Clicking and Dragging Zoom

    So I had to reinstall Photoshop for a number a reasons, and because of this I lost all of my settings.
    There's two settings I lost and don't remember what I did to turn them on.
    1. The Transparent Background is actual pixel size.
    I don't like zooming in and seeing the transparent background not change. I liked it when it was 12x12 pixels per transparent box. What setting do I have check or change to get that back to normal?
    Example: http://puu.sh/9zjjb/1d48b7ebd5.png
    2. Clicking and Dragging Zoom.
    When I now click and drag, I gives me an area I want to zoom in. I don't like this at all. I'm not animating in flash, I'm just drawing. I liked it better when I clicked and dragged up, down, left or right to zoom in on the area I clicked on. What setting is that to enable that?
    Example: http://puu.sh/9zj8O/ec329b1d6f.png
    I'm using Photoshop Cs6.
    If someone can tell me how to fix both of these problems I'm having, that would be grand.

    The way you're seeing it work now (with the checkerboard size remaining the same on the screen no matter what the zoom) is the expected way with the Graphics Processor Advanced settings set to Drawing Mode Normal or Advanced.  If you want it to work the way it did before, go into your Preferences - Performance dialog, click the [Advanced Settings...] button, and choose Basic drawing mode.
    Regarding the Zoom...  Select the Zoom Tool, and look in the Options bar (up near the top of the Photoshop main window).  Change the [ ] Scrubby Zoom checkbox.

  • Is client browser's actual height accessible?

    Hi all,
    I have an UI Element IFrame, whose height setting puzzles me.
    If I set the height as default or 100%, the IFrame can't retrive my browser's actual height and occupies only a small part on my screen.
    If I fix the height by ****pixel, adjusting it to occupies a full-page on my screen, it may have a different apperence on others' PC if they have a different "screen resolution" setting.
    I'm wondering, is there a way to get the actual height of the client's browser, then I can set the IFrame height dynamically?
    Thanks for your attention.

    Hi Ayyapparaj,
    Actually I had taken a search on Internet about "IFrame height", and found some similiar topics - although most of which are in the domain of HTML IFrame.
    The mentioned solutions on these topics mainly point to "dynamically setting the IFrame height" using JavaScript - that's why I wish to be able to retrive the client browser information.
    Anyway, thank you very much for your information.

  • PDF export size in Pixels

    Before, when I exported a PDF from an Illustrator document, the page of the exported PDF would be the same size in pixels as the Illustrator artboard.
    Now, for some reason the exported PDFs are bigger than the artboard size. This is consistent now....but it didn't happen before formatting and reinstalling OS,
    I've tried creating the projects again, with the same result...
    Is there any special setting in the PDF export options?
    TIA

    Doh.... it's an option in "Preview".

  • Site that automatically resizes images based on browser size

    Hi. I need to make a site that automatically adjusts the size of the images based on the browser size, but keeps the image quality. Does anyone know how to do this without using flash?
    I basically want the site to perform like [http://www.shotview.com/|http://www.shotview.com/] . Thanks for your help.

    first time accessing website get screen size info using javascript and then redirect to next page and store screen size info into session. then, when requesting pictures from browser use custom servlet, mapped to image extension, that renders images to different resolution.

  • Parallax scrolling not adjusting to different browser size, help?

    Hello everyone,
    I am putting together this parallax website, http://natashajackson.businesscatalyst.com/index.html and it works on my 15 in mac book, but does not adjust size for smaller or larger screens. I can't seem to make the timing for all the "scrolling effects" line up for all browser sizes.
    I have watched many muse tutorials and have figured out how to avoid horizontal scrolling, but again, it only appears to be working on my 15 in book.
    The below photo shows my layout properties. Any magical tips that I am missing? I look forward to your feedback!
    Thank you

    Hey manna9er I was able to figure out the 100% browser width and it turned out to be pretty simple. At first I was "Placing" my images into muse and scaling them to the width of browser, and it never was 100% width. I found that you cannot "Place" you must use the "Rectangle Tool" and create box the width of the browser, make sure that it is 100% browser width, the border line turns red and a tool tip informs you, as seen in image)
    Next use the "Fill" option on your top menu bar-->select "Choose Image Background"--> upload image file-->scale to whatever size/style you want. (see image below)
    For parallax go to Window-->scroll effects--> and play with Motion, Initial Motion, Key Point and Final Motion. Parallax takes some toying with to get desired effect.
    Hope this helps

  • NOKIA LUMIA 520 ACTUAL PIXEL

     hi i'm wondering if what is the total actual pixel of nokia lumia 520, because in all phone specs of lumia 520 it said that it has a 5 megapixel, so i'm wondering why my lumia 520 is only getting a 3.7 actual megapixel and my all pictures resolution is only 2592 x 1456.

    That's because you probably have your camera set to 16:9. Set it to 4:3 and you will get 2592 x 1936 pixels

    Thanks In Advance

    Hi,
    you don't have to stop your database to increase the file size - it's an online operation. If you are more familiar with SQL code here is what you have to do:
    use <SID> /*Put your database name here, e.g. PRD*/
    go
    select file_id, name, physical_name, size
    from sys.database_files
    where type_desc = 'ROWS'
    In the resultset you will find a column called 'name' - that are the logical file names that we need for the increase. If you have a standard installation the names should look like <SID>DATA{1-4}. Next step ist the actual increase of the files:
    /*Replace <SID> with your DB name*/
    alter database <SID> modify file(name='<SID>DATA1', size=25GB) /*25GB ist just an example*/
    alter database <SID> modify file(name='<SID>DATA2', size=25GB)
    alter database <SID> modify file(name='<SID>DATA2', size=25GB)
    alter database <SID> modify file(name='<SID>DATA4', size=25GB)
    Thats it. If you run the first statement again, you will see that the filesize has been increased. You can also check on  filesystem level.

  • Actual Pixel Value for Screen Res...(Doc Window)...Incorrect in DW ?

    hello again...
    In Dreamweaver MX 2004...the dropdown menu on the status bar (right corner) of the document window...showing actual pixel dimensions vs. maximized screen resolution...
    ...for the 1024 X 768 SR...I'm showing actual pixel dimensions of 955 X 600.
    is that not correct...???
    I have always gone under the assumption that those figures are 1003 X 567 (& my pages always seem to work fine, dimensionally, w/ those #'s).
    Is 955 X 600 the default for DW...or did my settings somehow get inadvertantly changed...???
    thanks,
    mark4man

    Browser chrome eats up approx. 30px on each side.  So if you're building a page to fit in a 1024px wide display without horizontal scrollbars, a page width of 970px or below is usually a good target.

  • Make a background photo that will resize to the users browser size

    I'm trying to create an effect like this in Iweb:
    http://neistatbrothers.com/
    You'll notice that the background image resizes to the browser size.
    I have read threads like that say to edit the HTML from "Scroll" to "Fixed"... that doesn't seem work.

    THIS website is NOT what I am looking for.
    Thanks!

    Thanks Wydor,
    I'm trying to decode this very elegent and cryiptic answer. I am an iweb user after all so I need a few more baby steps. I'm going to try and over-communicate to clarify. This response is long, but I appreciate your help.
    The link that you sent me (the way that page looks) is exactly what I am looking for.
    So I'm assuming that this is the code I will need :
    <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
    <!--
    parent.document.body.style.backgroundImage='url(../images/beach.jpg)';
    parent.document.body.style.backgroundRepeat='no-repeat';
    parent.document.body.style.backgroundPosition='50% 0%';
    parent.document.body.style.backgroundAttachment='fixed';
    parent.document.body.style.MozBackgroundSize = 'cover';
    parent.document.body.style.backgroundSize = 'cover';
    // -->
    </script>
    And of course changing the image title and folder.
    From iweb I have downloaded my "site" to a local folder where I can edit the HTML files from Dashcode 3.0.1.
    The code looks like this for that page which I have titled "Blank", the Image I want to use is titled "SNV33631.jpg"  :

    3: do I paste it in the "Index" file or the "Blank" file.

  • Instant Crash on zooming in to actual pixels

    Hi all,
    I'm using PhotoshopCS6 on an early 2011 Macbook Pro. I'm experiencing a crash bug whereby if I open a document and zoom in to actual pixels, Photoshop instantly crashes.
    I haven't experienced this problem before, and it's fairly mysterious that it's cropped up all of a sudden.
    The file I am working on is fairly large (1600 x 2500), at 72 dpi.
    I'd greatly appreciate any ideas or insights... thank you!

    Try resetting the preferences: Press Cmd+Opt+Shift immediately after initiating Photoshop startup. Select "yes" when prompted.

  • Keeping layers overlapping in different browser sizes

    I am having trouble finding a simple solution to a AP Div problem. I have set up a new file using Dreamweavers HTML page "1 column fixed, centred, header and footer". This is excellent as it keeps the design no matter which browser size my audience may be using. I now wish to add a new Div which will contain my links bar across the top overlapping my logo. When I do this the links bar layer does not move with the rest of the design as the browser size changes.
    So basically how can I maintain any new layers I add to this page to keep them moving in line with the headers, footers and rest of the Divs as the browser resolution/size changes?
    Help appreciated!

    If you do keep on with the use of AP divs then I think my earlier comment is how I see the solution to what throws a lot of people:
    martcol wrote:
    If you do use position absolute you should think about using position:relative on the containing element which will then become the reference for the positioned element.
    An absolutely postitioned element is always positioned relative to something.  If a containing element is not set as position:relative the absolutely positioned element's reference becomes the browser window.  This means that the absolutely positioned element is positioned relative to something that can be moved around (that's my paraphrase).
    Likewise, absolutely positioned elements don't seem like anything else that isn't absolutely positioned or fixed.  So, if you use AP divs as a crucial part of the structure of your page you need to check carefully what might happen if the user increases the text size in the browser.
    Best of luck
    Martin
