BSI TUBS

Dear all,
Could anyone please tell me about BSI TUBS? and how that is basically done in an organization.
Thank you all
Regards,
Mamta

Hi Mamta
BSI releases bulletins and SAP releases TUBS (tax update bulletins)
SAP don’t calculate taxes by themselves so BSI is the software used by SAP for calculating their taxes.
Deductions are done thru payroll but taxes are calculated thru BSI.
BSI is designed as per the IRS regulation. So to apply all those regulations BSI releases the changes made for Federal taxes or States taxes by IRS
They update tax tables every year. How are Federal / State taxes are going to calculate?? BSI gives all these details.
Then SAP keeps track on the bulletins and updates the system and releases TUBS which are updated in the system directly or else if it needs manual entries are made according to the directions of SAP.
Generally Basis team updates the Bulletins but you need to review and test those in system.
Let me know if you have further questions about the same.

  • Issue in BSI TUBS Implementation

    Hi Experts,
My Client wants to launch a facility in Alabama and therefore we need to set up the Tax Authorities pertaining to Alabama.
These Tax Auth have been introduced in BSI TUB 7.0 and presently our SAP system is at BSI 8.0
I found that the Transport Requests for these tax auth have not been implemented in our SAP system till date.
I need to know if we can deploy these Transport Requests (of BSI 7.0) now when we are presently at BSI TUB 8.0 ?
Will there be an impact ? If yes, what is the feasable alternative ?
    Regards,
    Somdeb.

    Hi Ted,
Thank You for the prompt response.
    However for example:
Tax Auth AL0N - Introduced With BSI TUB - BSI 7.0 TUB 114
    Tax Auth AL0O/ AL0P/AL0Q - Introduced With BSI TUB - BSI 7.0 TUB 140
Tax Auth AL0R/AL0S/AL0T - Introduced With BSI TUB - BSI 7.0 TUB 155
Can you please tell me how to find the equivalent TUBS in BSI 8.0 ?

  • Bsi tub 122

    Experts,
In BSI tub 122, i see for Millcreek(Township) authority has adopted Local Services Tax from 10$ to 52$ which means taxtype 84(Local services tax) has to be setup in SAP. We are still using taxtype 51(occupational tax) and i have setup taxtype 84 as per tub 122. SAP is not generating  taxtype 84 for authority Millcreek PB9X. Has anyone come accross this issue and how did you resolve it?. Appreciate your help.
    Regards,
    Fred

did you complete all the setup with the tax model in SAP to activate tax type 84 and also activate the tax type 84 in BSI?

  • OSS notes for BSI TUBS replace W4 setting in T5UTZ for CO with a 3

Every time we import and apply the OSS notes associated with BSI TUBs that include table T5UTZ, it replaces the value indicating W4 availability with a value of '3' which does not allow a records specialist to enter Infotype 0210 for Colorado.  We have no information that this is no longer required.  Can anyone point me to why this setting is indicating that the CO W4 information will default to the Federal record every time the table is delivered in an OSS note.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

  • BSI TUBs + SAP Notes

    Hi Experts!
I was just wondering what it means to add any SAP notes when implementing BSI TUBs?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks.

Bullein updating has 2 parts. One is that a functional consultant will go and download updates into BSI software called Taxfactory(8.0 is the latest version).
After this, the basis team must be informed that you made these changes in taxfactory and you would like them to apply corresponding patches (OSS notes) in SAP.
For every TUB #, there is a corresponding OSS patch number which means updates have to be done in taxfactory as well as SAP.
if you want to know more in detail let me know.

Can you Please let me know is it must to update all the tubs for 7.0 before carring out the 8.0 tubs upgradation

    Jud-Mer

    Jud-Mer :
No, it's not necessary. When upgrade to BSI 80, BSI would provide you with a data file with certain BSI 80 tub level which has the equivalent of whatever BSI 70 tub level. Therefore, tjhere's no reason to apply your current BSI 70 to latest tub prior to going to 80.
    Rgds.

  • TUB 35 - Connecticut Employers FUTA Debt Repayment Tax

    Dear all:
Im dealing with TUB 35 and this change: "Adds a new tax type that uses a $7,000 maximum wage base and a .3% tax rate", anyone could give me a hand with that, I cant understand very well what is going to change for CT employees and how proceed to implement this bulletin.. I just saw this thread Setting up FUTA - Credit Reduction mapping TUBs Tax type 011 , but I would like to know if there is a SAP note where they explain in more detail what has to be done
Any help will be greatly appreciated,
    Best regards

    Ora,
SAP Note 1660462 (BSI TUB 046) addresses Tax Type 11 for AR, CA,  KY, MO, and VA. One of the tables it updates is T5UTX.
SAP Note 1661746 (BSI TUB 047) addresses Tax Type 11 for  IN, RI, and WI. It also provides an update to the T5UTX table.
Tax Type 11 for NC has been available for a while. I donu2019t know which note provided the functionality.
    Regards,
    Howard

  • Comments on BSI testing

    Dear all;
We have a test policy for BSI bulletins, every time a new one is issued we check if this affect our client, and if so we implement it right away, otherwise we wait until end year to implement the whole bunch.
Last year, due to upgrades and tax changes, we had to nearly assing a resource dedicated to test BSI bulletins, the client side also had to spent a lot of time in testing. All this caused some complaints from them, regarding this non stop and tedious activity.
I would like to know whats your police with BSI testing, what is the scope of your test cases, and if there is any tool to automate this testing process.
    Thank you very much,
    Federico.

    Thank you very much Graziela,
If I understand you, what you are suggesting is to compare the RT before and after applying the BSI TUB, that way we can identify what has changed in the system. So far thats what we had in mind too.
On the other hand, we were thinking that it would be more accurate if we not only compare before-after, but rather testing-production, I mean, we could use a tool like CLONE AND TEST to copy the current production payroll data to testing, then re execute the payroll and compare the results between both clients.
Thank you very much again for your help,
    Federico.

  • Tax model, Tax combinations and Tax types for New Jersey

We are having problems in computing taxes correctly for Employees who have their Work tax area and Residence tax area as New Jersey.
Can anyone please help with the best Tax model, tax combination and Tax types for these combination for New Jersey.
It will be better if you have employees in New Jersey, who have their Taxes deducted correctly.
We are in an implementation and unfortunately it has been a while since we have applied any Tax related SAP notes or BSI tubs.
    Appreciate all help.

i have been researching and have found that NJ state taxes are like Puerto Rico taxes. The Schema UMOT may have to be used with a different modifier to calculate Withhoding tax for NJ , different from FED.
Has anyone of you used this schema ? I find that UTAXRAUTHY ( tax authority) is an Operation in the deecisison tree .Can anyone confirm if Tax type is also an operation?
I shall appreciate any related feedback.Thanks.

  • IT 0210

    Hi,
We have applied OSS note 1514526 related to BSI-TUBS.
Under IT 0210 (Withholding Info W4/W5 US) for Tax Authority MS( Mississippi) the field Additional withholding is not Editable. We are not able to enter an amount there. Is there any additional note that needs to be applied to make it Editable.
    Please Advise.
    Regards,
    Ghanapriya

If you manually config tax authorities behavior (view V_T5UTZ), when applying OSS related to BSI tubs, there's a good chance the config is overwritten, and would need to be re-applied.
Go to view V_T5UTZ, and then go to tax authority 'MS' - double click to go to detail screen. Check that 'Add amt. prohibited' field is un-checked.

  • Taxes and table T5UTZ

We have noticed that recently when BSI tubs are applied, table T5UTZ only gets updated in client 000.  If our basis team tries to manually push it to DEV, QAS or PRD, they get an error saying it is only supposed to be put in 000.  How can we get the entries in this table udated in our other clients?  I have had to build a couple of tax authorities manually into this table, but I don't feel that that is the right thing to do.
    Any help would be appreciated.
