BSOD with both Kernal Security Check Error and Bad Pool Header.

All -
I have a HP DV7 laptop with Windows 8.1. It has BSOD with both Kernal Security Check Error and Bad Pool Header.
Despite doing all the built in HP tests, there is nothing. Using an Anker HardDrive Dock results in the identical errors on another machine.
Bottom line, even if I could see the DMP files (which I cannot); because the machine fails to boot, there are no files to be copied.
I have tried various AIO and UEFI disks and USB, and the laptop NEVER accepts the PREINSTALL environment. Being unable to use the Anker has never happened. I seem completely locked out of the drive. Any suggestions? Thx.

Hi Texas_Bruiser
Some required details are needed for us to help you.
Ensure that the BIOS/UEFI has been configured to allow boot from DVD/CD or USB.
When you attempted to boot into PREINSTALL environment (PE) by using disks or USB, we need more details about error message or what happened?
If your computer cannot even boot into Windows PE by using installation media, we suggest you check if memory and other hardware are works properly on this computer. Also try to plug this hard disk on other computer as data volume, see if the hard disk works.

  • Bad Pool Caller and Bad Pool Header issue

Hi,I recently upgraded my system from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1. Since then it doesn,t start normally. Mainly give Blue screen with error Bad Pool caller, Bad pool header, Service Exception error, Driver corrupted expool. The system never hibernate or sleep. Please help.

    Hi there
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, both from other users, HP experts and other support personnel. I understand that after upgrading to Windows 8.1 you are experiencing various BSOD errors. I am happy to assist with this. Did this start immediately after the upgrade to Windows 8.1, or was it shortly after? Checking online for those messages, I found suggestions about conflicting drivers, multiple antivirus programs in use. Here are a few examples I found from the Microsoft support forums. Something within may be of use to you. driver expool corrupted windows 8 - answers.microsoft.comBAD_POOL_CALLER error in Windows 8.1 -  answers.microsoft.comsystem service exception error blue screen - answers.microsoft.com It may also be useful to open your own thread on the Microsoft Forums, as often the experts there are looking for dump files to look for specific causes. I hope this helps.

These were related to memory corruption.  Please run driver verifier below to find the underlying cause.  I noticed the remnants  of Symantec on 2 of the 3 DMPS so it may still be resident
These crashes were related to memory corruption (probably caused by a driver).
Please run these tests to verify your memory and find which driver is causing the problem.
If you are overclocking (pushing the components beyond their design) you should revert to default at least until the crashing is solved. If you don't
know what it is you probably are not overclocking.
Since it is more likely to be a driver please run verifier first.
1-Driver verifier (for complete directions see our wiki here)
If verifier does not find the issue we can move on to this.
2-Memtest. (You can read more about running memtest here)
If you cannot boot after enabling verifier reboot into safe mode

  • Is it possible to have a server with both a 2007 DP role and 2012 DP role?

Is it possible to have a server with both a 2007 DP role and 2012 DP?
A client has been sold that as part of the migration the vendor will continue use the existing 2007 servers as DPs, and add the 2012 DP role as part of the migration - then at some future point remove the 2007 role.
Sounds a bit wonky to me, it would be great to have your insights, some MS documentation or case study - to either provide a level of comfort or give me some foundation to chime in and request they adjust their expectations... I haven't found anything yet.
It's not side by side technically, more of concurrent migration?
    Thank's for your insights.

Shared DPs are available if you are performing a migration but that's about it.

We do need the actual log files (called a DMP files) as they contain the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers
were loaded, and what was responsible.

    I have had

^^ The driver(s) which appeared to have attributed to the corruption are Kaspersky drivers, with
klwfp.sys (the one that caused the pool corruption) specifically being the Network Filtering Component driver for Kaspersky.
    DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (d1)
This indicates that a kernel-mode driver attempted to access pageable memory at a process IRQL that was too high.
A driver tried to access an address that is pageable (or that is completely invalid) while the IRQL was too high. This bug check is usually caused by drivers that have used improper addresses.

  • Editing a project with both True 16:9 footage and 4:3 footage w/ wide bars.

    Hi everyone,
I have come across an interesting issue and really could use some suggestions here.
A friend and myself filmed a project using 1 Sony FX1 and a Panasonic DVX-100. Both of us set-up the DV footage to record as 16:9 widescreen thinking we would have the same look.
Once we captured the footage I realized that the Panasonic did not record true 16:9 aspect ratio, instead it recorded 4:3 and added the black bars on the top and bottom.
My issue now is seeing how the entire day the sony was the main camera in FCP I will set up the sequence with the DV NTSC Anamophic setting, but how can I now use the 4:3 (Panasonic) footage?
Can anyone suggest any ideas how I can use the 4:3 footage with blackbars in the 16:9 sequence and not make it look like there are is a sace on the side and top of the footage?
    Thanks

I'd add here that you should be adjusting the SCALE the 4:3 footage...
    wait...
IF the 4:3 footage comes in with the black on the side and the aspect ratio looks OK then scale it up to 133% or so. You'll loose a small bit of quality, but it won't matter too much and if you are going to colorize the footage you won't even be able to tell.
IF the 4:3 footage comes in looking squished -- everyone fat and short -- then you'll need to change each clip's aspect ratio to 33 or -33 I forget which and THEN scale it up.
You will loose the top and bottom, but one added plus is that you'll also be able to reframe your 4:3 shots up and down to get the right framing.
    Good luck,

  • Problems with Solaris 10 Secure Desktop server and Windows XP Client

Solaris 10 Secure Desktop server - Windows XP Client - I've tried to open the Solaris Machine's desktop using the browser based http://MysolarisServerName/sdg and the windows native client
    http://MySolarisServerName/tarantella.
I log in ok to the Solaris Server.
I can open a VT420 session with the solaris machine, and this works OK, but whenever I try anything else e.g. smc, or full screen desktop it doesn't. I get various error messages e.g. can't open display, and Session Failed - X Session timeout.
I've also installed Cgywin X Server on the Win XP machine to see if this makes a difference, but it doesn't.
    Any clues anyone?

Being able to run the VT420 session, but not any X-Window sessions is the clue; it's an X-specific problem. Most likely, ssh isn't configured correctly, see: http://docs.sun.com/source/819-4309-10/en-us/base/indepth/ssh.html
Pasting in the (most) relevant bit:
    Adding support for X applications
To support X applications through OpenSSH, enable X11 forwarding in the OpenSSH configuration file. On each Secure Global Desktop host:
    1. Edit the sshd_config file and include the following:
    X11Forwarding yes
    2. Edit the ssh_config file and include the following:
    ForwardAgent yes
    ForwardX11 yes
    3. Restart the SSH daemon.
    Using SSH and X authorization
If SSH connections fail, when X authorization is enabled, you may have to run the SSH daemon in ipv4-only mode because Secure Global Desktop may not support the xsecurity extension used on your server. You enable ipv4-only mode by editing your system SSH configuration file. For example:
    * On SUSE Linux, edit the /etc/sysconfig/ssh file and add a SSHD_OPTS="-4" line.
    * On Red Hat Enterprise Linux, edit the /etc/sysconfig/sshd file and add a OPTIONS="-4" line.
Note If the SSH configuration file does not exist on your system, you can create it.
You must restart the SSH daemon after making this change.

  • How can I get my ipad2 calendar to show up on my wife's iphone4 calendar with both have ios5.0.1, and had separate email accounts?

I recently got an IPAD2 with my own email address, and my own apple id.  My wife got an Iphone4 (not 4s) for Christmas, which also has IOS 5.0.1, and she has her own email address and her own apple id.  How can we sync calendars?

This is helpful, but how do you get both devices to communicate to this single calendar via the iCloud?...
You did not mention that it must be through iCloud.  But then, it can't really do so if you want to maintain separate Apple IDs.
So you just set up an additional calendar on your devices.
iPads, iPhone, Macs can show multiple calendars simultaneously.  I have my work calendar and several personal calendars all showing simultaneously on my iPad, Mac Mini and Macbook Pro.   In the case of my client, they didn't need multiple calendars.  They just were going to use the one shared calendar.  But I did setup the shared Google calendar and separate personal caldendars on their iPhones.  (e.g.: Husband's iPhone = husband's personal Mac Cal + shared Google Calendar.  Wife's iPhone = wife's personal Outlook for Windows Cal + shared Google Calendar.)

  • Please help...  GiO not working properly with Mainstage.  GiO lights errors, and Gio Disconnected errors.

I have a gig ion 11/22, and I am DESPERATE TO FIX THIS....
    Mainstage 3
    Brand new Macbook air
    Brand new Apogee Gio
I've tried multiple reloads of the software
    2 macbook air 13"
    and 6 GiOs.
These things aren't talking to each other.
I bought the laptop SOLELY to run mainstage.  No other garbage is cluttering the box.
I have 1 concert file, with 50 songs (Patches)
Each patch has a few pedals configured on the layout screen, which are linked to the Pedalboard in Mainstage for various effects
AT MOST, I have 1-2 channel strips PER PATCH...  Nothing seriously tasking on the CPU.
THe CPU meter shows <20% capacity, always.  Usually <10%
A few of the patches have a channel strip with a 3 second .wav file (audio channel strip)  NOTHING HUGE AT ALL.
    Problems scenarios:
    1.  MAINSTAGE FREEZES ON LOAD = 3% of the time....
Mainstage freezes at starup..  Jams on the "loading MIDI" message.  happens 3% of the time.
    2. MAINSTAGE reports "GiO has been disconnected" = 100% of the time...
I can sometimes play for 1 hour, no issues.... then all of the sudden, I hit a Gio Button, and i get the "Gio has been disconnected" message. I cannot play a gig, without this failing...    I have to REBOOT mainstage to get the stuff talking again, sometimes I have to RESET the Gio too (by holding a button and pulling/attaching the USB)  Sometimes Mainstage reconnects itself to Gio, most times I have to reboot everything.
    3.  GiO LIGHTS MALFUNCTIONING. = 80% of the time.
Sometimes while I'm playing, the lights on the Gio fail to cycle when I press the buttons...  The lights on the MAINSTAGE screen layout behaive correctly, and the audio output is modified correctly when the buttons are pushed.... but the Gio foot switch lights fail to cycle.  For a particular song/patch, sometimes they work, other times they wont.
I've had Apogee tech support working on this to no avail.
They told me to unplug other usb devices.
    Try new cables.
Increase the buffer size to 256 from 128 (which i did, but the latency/delay is unacceptable, and the problem still persisted anyway.)

    Super,
I have a new Macbook Pro with Retina and an Apogee Gio and use Mainstage 3 under Mavericks (OS X 10.9.1).  I am experiencing similar problems to yours so I do not believe it is a problem with your particular machine or set up.  I have been using Mainstage and the Gio for a few years under Snow Leopard and Mainstage 2 without these particular issues.
I am having the same hang on 'waiting for midi' at startup when the Gio is plugged into the USB port.   This seems to be occurring more and more.  I tried both ports on the Macbook Pro and it occurs on both of them sporadically.  I would say maybe 10% of the time.   I have discovered if you unplug the Gio usb cable at this point and plug it back in it will allow sometimes allow Mainstage to finish booting up.
The Gio is disconnected message I only had one time.  Only appeared the very first time I was using it on my new system.  I believe this was under Mavericks 10.9 (not 10.9.1).  I haven't been getting that message since.
The Lights on the Gio hardware unit and Mainstage do not appear to be working properly here as well.  They seem to work properly for a while but then they lose sync with the templates.  I initially thought this might be caused by my particular custom template.   I tested today using the stock Gio Mainstage template from Apogee and the lights begin to lose sync on the Gio.  Buttons mapped to various pedals or amp settings on the Gio will sometimes stay on when they are supposed to go off or visa versa.  Using the looping functions the various foot pedal buttons sometimes display incorrectly (on when they are supposed to be off).
I believe the problems are  with Apogee's Gio driver or a software issue with Mavericks.
I have filled out a feedback form to report this to Apple.  I would recommend you do this as well so they know it is an issue.  http://www.apple.com/feedback/
I would also contact Apogee and see if they have an updated driver coming soon or if they have any other recommendations.
If you resolve this issue or hear anything, please post.  Thanks.

  • Working with both OS 9.2.1 and OSX 10.4 on Prismo

    Hello,
My profile is not entirely correct as it is back to OS9 right now ( I think), I'll sum up what I did (some of this was probably a mistake)
Initially a Prismo Firewire with OS9:
    1) Copied OS9 applications to a flash drive.
    2) Replaced 12 gbhd with 120 gbhd
    3) Added 512 mb more ram
    4) Installed OSX Tiger 10.4
    5) Installed iLife05, iMovieHD and iDVD5
    6) Copied OS9 applications from flash drive to a new folder which I named "OS9 Applications" in case I needed those old apps.
    7) Found out I needed some of those OS9 apps so I used the original OS9 disks and loaded 9.04 (clean install), updated to 9.1 and then updated to 9.2.1
    8) Rebooted and it opened to OS9.
So did I "erase" OSX when I installed OS9?
What do I need to do to be able to use both OSX and OS9?
How do I choose what OS I want to use or how do I switch between the two OS's?
Sorry if this is a duplicate of posts by others. I looked at a lot of them and did not find any that sounded like my dilemma.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you're in OS9 now, use the Startup Disk control panel to choose OS( or OSX 10.4 - I think NetBoot may also be offered.
If you're in OSX, use the Startup Disk System Preference and choose from OS9, OSX or "Network Startup".
OSX should still be on the disk if you didn't reformat the disk when installing OS9.
Just one issue may arise, flash drives are normally formatted FAT16 or FAT32 for use with Windows PCs. Your OS9 Applications may be hosed if you haven't reformatted the flash drive to Mac HFS / HFS+. This can be achieved in Disk copy / Disk Utility.
At least you still have the 12GB drive with everything intact on it.

The program execution will not be retried.) Afterwards the system will either recycle hard or blue screen - sometimes its immediate and sometimes its 1-3 minutes later.
This program runs against the machine with the user's rights, which may or may not have admin rights, because its modifying something user specific.  For the users that have admin rights it works fine, on other non admin users is when it crashes.
Anyone else come across this out there?  We are running SCCM 2012 R2 (no CUs).
    Thanks

    Hi,
If this problem is related to UAC, you could try to set GPO settings(User Account Control: Behavior of the elevation prompt for administrators in Admin Approval Mode) to
    Elevate without prompting.

  • Best multi-function printer to work with both OS 10.3.9 and OS 10.4.6?

Now that HP's built-in obsolescence has left me looking to replace my once-trusty old psc 2175, I'm looking for another printer/scanner/copier that will do the same basics reliably & economically & with the same or better durability. (including photo card slots, plus printing via wired connection to AirPort Express) Any suggestions?
Also, since we use both G3 and G4 Macs, should I stay away from printers that specify only G4?
    Thank you.,

    All solved
    Hi--
Can I ask what you did to solve it? My TiBook's internal airport is flaky and a PC card seems like the cheapest way to keep it going.
    Thanks a lot.
