BT Infinity: never again

Since 'upgrading' to BT Infinity in September I've had nothing but problems with my BT supply, whether some is a coincidence or not I don't know. The recurring problem is not being able to get a wireless connection. Sometimes I can, but mostly I get a message saying the wireless connection can't be set up because the wireless key is incorrect, even though it is correct. I had an engineer reset the profile and it worked for 24 hours. Since then I have had to put in the CD, connect to the ethernet and reinstall, which sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. Today I've tried this and every other form of help I can find on the wesbite and it refuses to connect.
To cap it all the line to the house came down earlier this month and took four days to repair, so no phone calls and the day they were repairing it the broadband was on and off all day. Two weeks later and the line has been down again since the weekend and it's Wednesday now and they can't promise to fix it until tomorrow and threatening to charge £130.
BT charges a premium rate, but it's far from being a premium service and they don't even offer compensation when you have the line down nor for the all the time I've been sitting in waiting for engineers, on the phone getting faults fixed and having to pay premium mobile rates becuase I can't use my landline. [As I've been writing this the engineer turned up, no appointment, but needed access to the house, good job I was in and at least I have a phone again].
But BT I am VERY disgruntled and if you don't get your act together quickly I'll be moving to another supplier and if you think I will pay to the end of my contract when you're not delivering, think again, a contract is only a contract if you 'perform' it (which I believe is the legal term) and the only performance I'm getting at the moment is a badly acted pantomime..

Hi and welcome
I had terrible problems with one of my PC's I'd turn it on and then it wouldn't connect... came up with there is a problem and did I want to fix it???? Of course!!!! I always shouted and then selected the picture of which router etc and away it would go and a minute or so later it connected. Sometimes had to re-enter the wireless key.
My other equipment did not have this problem, so had a think of what the difference was...
That machine was the only one I had installed the BT software on, so I uninstalled it and never had a problem since.
I am not promising that will be the problem but as the software isn't needed I would try uninstalling it and see.

I won't preorder again either. I also won't suggest anyone else pre-order because of this run around I'm getting.  I pre-ordered hoping to get my s4 in a timely convenient manner. It's unfair to see many others have their phone in hand while I still wait. I ordered prior to the in-store release date so I should have mine in the same amount of time as anyone off the street. It's unfair to make me wait. I ordered on the 22nd and it's the 30th.. I still wait.
Also, it's ridiculous that no one can answer when pre-orders will be shipped. Answers are vague and scripted and forum moderators don't help.
    Never again, agreed.

    Hello Durantulafan35,
Purchasing any digitally-delivered content should be a quick and easy process, so it's disheartening to learn of situations where this might not have been the case. I'd be frustrated too if I found myself in a similar situation, especially if I received multiple marketing messages while waiting for the item I purchased to arrive.
In most situations, orders for digital content can be fulfilled in as little as 15 minutes. From time to time, however, additional processing may be required that can delay delivery up to four (4) hours. E-mail filters can also prevent timely delivery, even if customers are still receiving other communication from Best Buy. To help avoid these issues, customers are encouraged to add the @BestBuy.com domain to their safe senders list. Gmail users should also check their Promotions folder as these types of messages are often directed there instead of the primary inbox.
That said, I've had the chance to review your account and believe I was able to pinpoint the reason why you haven't received your Destiny expansion pass code yet. • I am unable to download photos from iPhone 4, SD card and SLR camera to iPad 2 using apple accessories. It worked once and then never again. Any ideas ?

I am unable to download photos from my iphone4 , SD card , SLR camera to my ipad2 using apple accessories , please help , it has worked once and then never again.

    Plumchunks-
The only accessory I know of that can be used to transfer photos from a camera or SD card to the iPad, is the Apple Camera Connection Kit.  The kit consists of two adapters.  One has an SD card socket.  The other has a USB connector to connect directly to the camera.
I do not think you can transfer photos from the iPhone to the iPad unless you first transfer them to a computer.  If you then transfer the photos to an SD card, they must have eight character names plus suffix and be stored in a DCIM folder, just as if they came from a camera.
One thing you can try is to reboot the iPad.  Hold both the Home and Sleep buttons for several seconds until the Apple logo appears.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" arrow.  The iPad will restart after a couple of minutes.  Rebootting will not hurt anything and sometimes clears up mysterious problems.

  • HP Laptops? Never again!

Finally, I can draw a conclusion for myself and for you: If you contemplate buying a HP Laptop, don't. Not unless you have a very good reason that it must be from HP.
Having witnessed several generations of HP Laptops I can rightfully say that if you can choose another Brand, choose Acer, Asus or possibly Samsung, not HP.
Yes, HP Laptops work. And if you don't care about details and only about price/performance ratio, you are probably fine with the shiny producs which HP advertises. But if you are looking for mature, compatible, well-chosen and professional hardware, which allows you to go beyond running a 0815 graphics application and Microsoft Office you are better advised to avoid HP wherever possible.
Want to use Linux? Don't buy a HP Laptop.
Want to configure your computer to fit your needs? Don't buy a HP Laptop.
Want a working BIOS? You surely don't want to buy HP then.
Want to update your hardware? Better not buy HP?
In all of those cases and many more you should stick to brands which don't use cheap, under-developed core components in favor of a bloated features. In particular, you want to save yourself the trouble of permanent hardware failures and poorly executed repairs.
2011 HP limbs long behind its competitors, who offer flexibile, powerful BIOS, solid and mature hardware and well-balanced components. If these days the most impressive setting HP BIOS have to offer is setting the system clock and the boot order, even if you don't know what that means and what other options there *might* be, trust me, you want to keep away from HP laptops.
These are things you won't see when looking at the specifications of laptops, boasting with speed and size. Quantity over quality, eventually, you will notice quality matters.
PS: I want to note that this is not to be understood as a criticism of HP hardware in general. HP has, in more than one field, a long and successful history of creating high-end hardware. But laptops turn out just not to be HP's domain. At least not on a level that one would call "professional":
    This question was solved.

So, after having the screen replaced three times, I thought that things would work, after all. I even deemed myself lucky, because I had not been faced with the issues hundreds of other people on this forum say to have, such as overheating, errors on POST or complete failures
Today, about two weeks after everything seemed to have gotten back to normal, the Wacom Touchscreen/Pen eventually died completely, from one minute to the next.
    Oh, the irony...
I wonder what I will do once I run out of warranty. Is that what HP speculates on?
I can nothing but reaffirm: HP Laptops? Never (again)!

  • Why i will never again buy a creative prod

    Hi,
scince there is no company email-adress or subforum for criticism i post my issue here to see what other users think about that:
Below is an email i wrote to the company:
    Dear Ladies and Gentleman,
please let me explain to you why i will never again by a product of your company.
It is not because of the product itself, it is the way you distribute your product.
I recently bought a Zen Creative mp3-player, which really is a fine product.
When i bought it online, the product description said "software only available for windows"
which is ok with me, i dont use windows anymore, and i am used to reading this sentence.
Ususally this only means "of course you can access the product with whatever operating system you prefer,
but the software we ship out with the product works only on xyz" (xyz meaning windows in 99%)
Then i tried to copy my music:
It is not possible to read or write to the player using Linux as operating system.
Please dont tell me that this would be difficult to write your software for linux,
i am a software engineer developing for windows and linux and i know that this is trivial.
    2.
Even worse, you designed the player in a way, that it is impossible to copy data to it WITHOUT
your software. And no, this didnt show up in the product description. Scince your player is more or
less just a usb-stick, there is - from a technical point of view - not a single reason why anybody would
need a special software just to simply copy data to an usb-device.
    3.
Now the worst of all: I still had a windows 2000 system on one of my computers, so i tried to install
your software on the system. which of course failed scince your software can only be installed on windows xp.
    Again, for no technical reasons.
This leads us to 2 questions:
    a) How much money did Microsoft pay you, that even people owning a legimitate windows 2000 licence are forced to buy windows xp?
    b) Let me guess: As soon as windows Vista is released your software only runs on windows vista, right?
Please be also informed that i also sent letters describing the case to several german popular computer magazines, and hopefully
they will publish my concern as an example of how impertinent a company can get.

    Tr,
I am not a Creative employee but I do know a bit about Plays for Sure so I can reply a bit about that.
). Creative did not choose to limit the players to Windows XP. Creative chose to make the ZEN line Plays for Sure devices. Microsoft was the company that chose to limit Plays for Sure to Windows XP (and at one point they were saying there would be a 2000 and ME/98SE update but it never came out). By choosing Plays for Sure I am sure Creative was aware that they would be restricting to a Windows platform but Plays for Sure was the only standard being offered that has built in database and metadata support which the ZEN line all depended on. UMS (Uni'versal Mass Storage) does not have the features that allow for the internal system database to be updated during transfer (rather you have to update it following the transfer which is usually done at boot up which leads to very long boot times following uploads). Creative had been using a proprietary system (called the PDE driver) however that also was being critisised for not being uni'versal enough and requiring the disk to install the drivers (the ZEN Micro fixed that by adding a UMS data dri've feature which many used to store the CD on). The PDE system also did not support subscription tracks like PFS does.
    2) The system is in fact not at all like a USB stick. There is a database in the background that stores all of the metadata for the tracks to allow for the sorting and subscription/DRM support. There is a USB storage mode where you can make a portion of the dri've act like a data stick using UMS but it can't support music transfer due to the limitations of the UMS system. On Windows XP machines (with SP ) the player is plug and play with no need for special software (it works with Windows Media Player). It is only when you move outside of the specified system requirements that you lose the plug and play ability.
    3) Windows 2000 isn't supported by Plays for Sure. There are workarounds, but really this is a case of Microsoft not providing a driver. You may be a
    a) I suspect Creative paid a licensing fee to participate in PFS. I would take your complaints about PFS not supporting Windows 2000 to Microsoft as they are the company that runs that program.
    b) I doubt that Microsoft would remove PFS support from Windows XP. Such a move would be horrible but once again would not be the fault of Creative.
One might fault Creative for supporting PFS, but even today it is the only standard available that offers the features it does. It also offers support to what accounts for a vast majority of Creative's targeted user base. I am sure Creative would love for it to be offered for 2000/ME/98SE but they don't develop the license.

  • Never Again Nokia ! - EPIC FAIL ¡

The title says it all reason :
I've purchased an n97 for nearly 30000 inr two years back - i know very well that its completely outdated and due to hardware restrictions - it wont ever be updated to anna or belle ¡ . But how come nokia expect me to suffer for their fallacy of putting a mere 128mb ram and 434 mhz processor on their flagship ? I envy these first gen s^3 devices - they've got 2 major updates !- anna /belle and now belle refresh is coming ! Not to count numerous minor updates too ! Why then were we left with pathetic firmware on our devices ! -we never wanted belle or anna atleast make the current one more usable !
I've lost hope in you nokia ! Atleast if you have read numerous requests in here for doing something for s60v5 devices in here - you would not have done this to us !
I pity myself for having bought your flagship and will never again do the mistake of buying a nokia ! Who knows even lumias may suffer the same fate when wp8 arrives !
This is not only a single person expressing his anger here ! There are thousands behind me ! Fall nokia fall - YOU ARE AN 'EPIC FAIL' !

thanks for the the reply -'adrianhughes' but i.ve clicked the contact us but a hell lot times from day one (since i bought my nokia) - it is utter useless ! And i do believe that users have the right to express their feelings here ! - not that it'll change anything ! - but to make sure that we dont give up without a fight !

  • Never again!! The worst customer service!! Tech support etc..

I purchased the note book mini for Rogers Wireless.  It has the built in rocket stick.. I signed a 3 yr contract and paid 100.00 for the mini.  I pay 48.56 a month for the wireless service. My note book was maybe 3 months old.  I came home for a long weekend to find the mini not working would not turn on and if it did turn on the screen was black.. After being on the phone with tech support for almost 3 hours they had me taking apart the mini doing things that i felt were not my job to do.. They then told me that they would send me a ups box to send it for repair. Oct 12 was when it was sent out.  Today is now the 26th of Oct.  I have been on the phone with customer 3 times since the 12..  I could not for the life of me understand their broken english I ask to be transferred to someone that knew what they were doing they could not even find any info on my case #.  They would just keep transfering me to other people then I would have to say the same thing over and over.  So today I spent 2.5 hrs on the phone with them again.  I was wondering why the status of my mini was that I owed them 359.00 for repair.  They had no idea why this was and that they would call me back,. I asked to speak to a supervisor and he told me that he is to busy to talk to me!!!! I was like are you kidding me..  HP is a JOKE.  so not only did I get f@#k on the mini I am in a 3 yr contract with the thing and it dose not even WORK...
I will never ever ever buy an HP ever again..  Back to apple for me

Should of taken it back to Rodgers for an exchange.

  • Installer works once, but never again

I created an installer using PackageMaker. This package installs my app bundle and a local copy of postgres 9.1.
I also created an uninstaller that runs the Postgresql un-installer script, removes my app bundle and uses pkgutil to "forget" the receipt.
The installation on the end user machine works if the app has never been installed.
Running the un-installer appears to remove all the necessary parts, include the .bom and .plist from the receipts db tree.
Running the installer again ends with an error:
PackageKit: Install Failed: PKG: pre-install scripts for "com.mycompany.myapplication.pkg"\nError Domain=PKInstallErrorDomain Code=112
Digging through the logs I uncovered one error: psql command not found. This was in the log for the script that add roles to dbms. Interestingly, the postgres installer succeeded. pgAdmin fires up and the basic postgres schema, etc., are present.
So why can't the installer script find psql on this second invocation?

    Hello Jnielsen,
If you have tried the 5 R's and the iPod is still not mounting in iTunes, there are several possibilities. Additional troubleshooting for most potential causes are described in this article:

Before taking it back to the reseller, if you have the option to do so, test it on another computer.

  • Fireworks - never again

    Hello everyone
I am using CS5 DW and  Fireworks.
I  am so frustrated and digusted with Fireworks. It has been a sheer  nightmare using this program. The glitches are unbelievable and the  amount of time I have wasted on using this will never be recouped. The  financial impact to me has been is high and my clients are wondering what is taking so  long.
Every export into Dreamweaver means that I may be in for a  surpise. I never know what I'm going to get.  Most of the time the HTML  links are non existent or garbled. The site I am working on has over 300  links. When I created the links with an underscore FW exported every  link with an extra space and therefore would not work. No matter what I  did it would not take the changes.
Another work around was to go into the code ,once i had exported it to DW and make the changes,( like taking out the extra space in the links). in the code.  It got to the point  that  it became ridiculous and  affected down my launch date. Why would I have to do this  in the first place? What's thepoint of using FW in the first  place?
Adding a button  was a time wasting and labourious  task. The only procedure that would work was to  go into edit pop up  menu- add the button name- click through the rest of the options until  done AND then go to file save all. If that option was grayed out after i  had added the button, I knew that my entry didn't take and i would have  to do it over again. There didn't seem to be a reason why it would  happen, it just did. Then I would have to do the same ridiculous steps  over again to insert the link. I'm really looking forward to doing this  300 more tims.
I have used Adobe products for decades and I am so  pissed that I encouraged my boss/client to purchase this piece of ****  program.
Unfortunately I am stuck with it because it only started happening 3/4 of the way through the project. I don't have the time to look for work arounds of other plug in
Unless  there is a easy fix for this issue , i will never use it again and I  will recommend to my client and students that they all stay clear of  this POS.
Why Adobe would foist this on it's faithful customers is beyond me. I do know that writing this post is a complete waste of time, that nothing will be done , but after weeks and weeks of frustration I needed to vent.

Actually Fireworks is a wonderful POS piece of software. The problem stems from you using it to code your web page. That is what dreamweaver is for. yes, it has the ability to export HTML "for comping" purposes. It reall does not excel i this area. If you use to prototype a site it is faboulous. If you utilize each tools best features you will be happier. I code all HTML in Dreamweaver as well all CSS.
I realize it may be too late on this project to change but give it a try next time. Just export all your images and do all the coding in DW.

  • KT4V Motherboard..never again!

Number 2 AMD Athlon XP 2400 chip, as first one had a problem and the LED Diagnostic on the Bluetooth module indicated lite up all four LEDs red.  So it was sent back to AMD and replaced with another, the replacement is seated in the socket well, the HSF is a Coolermaster with a copper core and the thermal compound in Artic Silver 2.  Still will not POST.  I am so fustrated with AMD and MSI right now that I'm to the point where I will never purchase another MSI or AMD product ever again.  This is ridiculous!

Thanks for the reply, your right, there might be a problem with the board, that did occur to me, but like you I've used MSI boards in at least 100 systems in the past 3 years and never had a problem with any one of them.  And this is the first DOA CPU that I've ever received as well.
I wouldn't be so distraut about this if it wasn't for the fact that I'm building this for someone else that is an Intel fan!
"Have you given thought to the fact that the CPU isn't giving the problem, but that the board might be? I never ever had a dead CPU in my entire life.
I'm very pleased with AMD/MSI combo, have it for several years now, had some DOA's but such things happen. Also with other brands."

  • Sketchy business/ never again

Ive been a at&t customer going on one full yr now. And I cant believe the service I have gotten has been so bad. 4 missed appointments this week alone. Ive talked to 4 managers and nobody seems to be able to help me. They all promis phone calls and technical support to come but tgey never do. This is the second time this has happen in January of 2015 I had 6 missed appointments in a span of 2 weeks with no Internet. Not only that, I pay for 18 mbs and I only have been getting 10 mbs. Ive called 3 times for not getting the speed I pay for. But every time I call they seem to hit a special switch that bumps me up to my should be speed like magic. It makes me so frustrated that a paying customer on auto pay has to deal with such a bad company just to get what they pay for. I feel like at&t cant ask for more than a auto pay customer but yet with misleading info, sketchy business. Old equipment that breaks down whenever you turn around. Not to mention having dozen missed appointment this will never be a company I will go to again.

  • SAMSUNG - never again

16 months ago I purchased from best buy a combination of a Samsung 51" plasma tv, a Samsung wireless blue ray player, and a Yamaha surround sound system.
In 8 months the blue ray player died.  i worked for a couple of weeks with tech support and finally was told I had to ship it to california for repair services which would take up to 3 months.  I threw the player in the trash and purchased a Sony wireless blue ray player.
In 16 months the tv died.  I again contacted Samsung and after an hour or so was told the TV would have to be shipped to a repair facility on the west coast.  I am on the east coast.
I checked around locally and found that Sears will repair these tvs.  I paid them to come to the house to get an estimate, which was almost the same price as a new tv.  The repair man said if it was his, he would just buy a new one.
I used my credit card to buy this and am trying to get the double warrantee on this item but I have my doubts.
Both of these units were on conditioned power in a very stable and vibration free environment.
While I did feel Best Buy was a congenial place to shop, I will never purchase Samsung anything from anyone again.  I am also not sure I will purchase from Best Buy again.  It has only been 16 months since I spent almost $2000 with them and I have nothing left but the sound system.

I am new to these boards.  (I see that you are, too.)  I appreciate your sharing your experiences with your products, esp. the Samsung ones.  I am considering buying a new television now.  I was on this site for something else, and decided to look up TVs.  I found the link to these boards and decided to check them out.
Samsung must definitely be a "hit or miss" experience, as Jimmienomam said.  If I can remember correctly, both the microwave and the television set that my parents have bought in the last couple of years were Samsung, and so far, they have worked without problems.
The DVD player that I bought several years ago still works well.  (I actually had a lemon at first, but with my service plan was able to have it replaced by BB.)
So, I was thinking about looking at Samsung for this purchase.  Also, when I looked up TVs, and clicked on "Top Rated," the first ones listed were Samsung.  (I didn't look to see when those top ratings were given, though.)
But now, I see the negative feedback here.  I'm sure glad that I did.  It seems that even BB itself if questionable.  Where else am I going to get a new TV?
Maybe if I ask for opinions (about different brands) at the store, I will get feedback.  Or, would they just "recommend" Insignia, their "store brand"?
Any recommendations (positive feedback for other brands) can go here, I could check back here in a while.  That would be appreciated.  I'll check the rest of the boards to see if I can find anything.  In the meantime, thanks for posting - up there, and below.

  • Very frustrating... never again!!!!!

    NEED TO RANT A BIT!
Yesterday, I did something I rarelly do, film a wedding. I helped a friend's friend that was in need, and shot with...... (wait for it... wait for it...... but first... to put things in context, I mainly do corporate, cultural and some fictional works with pro cameras. I did a few in the past, but... not interested in getting bridezillas on a weekly basis.
The thing is, because it was so low budget, he could not afford to rent my equipment with my services, nor could he spare a better camera for this gig, since he was on another gig himself. So he provided me with a Sony Handycam... yeah... you read right!  An auto focus, auto exposure, auto audio gain, auto piece of crap that records on it's own internal hard drive.
    Problems and issues:
Low, low budget.... should have rang a bell long before.
He gives me the camera about 2 hours before the event.
Well, obviously, it's a Handycam with all it's gloriously consumerish "features" with no possible usable manual control.
He gives me a half full hard drive on the camera. Saying he's keeping the past footage just in case, even though he has 2 copies on 2 different drives. On top of that, it's footage from last year! Guess what, I ran out of space mid-day. Had to call him up and tell him he has a decision to make: delete or stop shooting.
Gives me enough batteries to barely do the day with no separate charger other then a the power supply to charge the batteries in-camera. My only way to save battery life was to stop and turn on as needed, during the whole day. I missed a few nice "spur-of-the-moment" shots because of that. It takes the camera some time to be up and running when it's turned on.
Cheap battery for a weak output external lamp that barely lasts 30 minutes but takes 6 hours to charge.
On-cam audio only. No shotgun, not wireless, no nothing! I had pity, so I ran to the office and got my MD46 for interviews. My microphone probably costs more then the camera itself... hehe.  And since my wireless receiver for my camera is a Unislot Lectrosonics, I can't use a wireless kit. So I have to make due with what he gives me. Before I leave, I test my mic, and notice a problem with the connection. This means I'll have to be diligent during interviews. I also bring my headphones to monitor the audio (hoping I wont have connection issues).
In the bag, as he was "showing" me his "great" camera, there was "wire" in the bag, and told me he wasn't sure what it was. I briefly look at it, and said it was a wired lav mic. I thought to myself "How he hell does not know what a lav mic looks like.  Granted, it was a $10 cheap lav mic, unusable, but still... any way... it showed me the level of technical knowledge this guy has. Keep in mind he's more of a photographer then a videographer... don't wan't to a judgement ******* either.
The locations changed a few times during the day. What was supposed to be a 30 mile route, turned out to be 60.
I got most of the important shots, but the lack of organization and time on the B&G side gave me no time to set up nicer shots, and only managed to get two quicky interviews during prep. Hey! These people pay "lots" (such a big word in this case) of money to get a video... you think they could spare a small 5 minutes for their $$$ video? I can only politely insist up to a certain point.
No VU meters on the viewfinder. Of course not, who would one need VU meters when the camera is equipped with the best technology in the world, know as AGC!?!?!?!  Pfffft
My nightmare come to life.  I do 2 interviews during prep, monitored audio and all was well. I reviewed the interviews and b-roll footage before doing a full day. Again, all was well, sound and all. Thinking I'm using on-cam auto-level sound, I don't really need to monitor the audio all the time, other then for mic'ed interviews. This was my error! Remember I told you I had a connection problems when hooking up the interview mic? As I get ready for a batch of interviews at the reception in the EVENING, I plug the mic, put on the headphones, and listen to... NOTHING?  I play with the connection a bit, and I finally have sound.... but then, a dreaded thought comes to mind. I review the ceremony, and ... I WANT TO SCREAM, and FAINT at the same time..... NO FRAKIN' AUDIO AT ALLLLLLLLLLLLLL... just a buzzing noise.  There's audio at the grooms, but nothing after that.  I guess the connection problem was more serious, even after the external mic plug removed. Could it be the bypass in the 1/8" TRS jack was defective?
I'm seriously pissed, both at the cheap camera, and even more at me for being pretentious enough to not constantly monitor my audio. VU meters would had been a great visual tool to ring a warning bell. This could have been prevented. I always monitor audio. Just, not this time. I managed to get more interviews at the reception to help pad things a bit... but it doesn't change the fact that i'ts a total disaster. No audio at the ceremony. The shots are nice, the visuals can make a great music video... but.... it doesn't change the fact that I want to kick myself.  Anyway, even if the audio worked, an on-cam top facing mic in a church would have been shityy anyway during the ceremony. Still.... this was an amateur mistake... I feel so stupid!
Now, ask me if I'lll do this type of contract again?
I know I can't go back in time. The last time I made such a novice error was more then 10 years ago?  I feel my only option, professionally, is to refund that person, and call it a loss (and a learning experience), and probably do a quick highlight music video.
What would you do in this situation?

I will open the cellar! I'll even start with a toast, as soon as the PGA is over, and I declare Wine Thirty.
It is assignments like these, that kept me away from that area of work.
Back in New Orleans, my partner did high-end weddings, and portratiure. I handled the advertising shoots. He had one of his Hassleblads, switch to M-sync, from X-sync, though the switch was still correctly set. As this was a major event, for a major family, he flew the prime participants back from CN, IIRC, and staged the event again, on his $. When done, he had all of his Hassy lenses pinned, so that the error could never happen again. Expensive as heck, but he kept the family as clients.
I feel very sorry for you on this one. Doing a 16mm shoot with a rented DP-16, someone picked up the camera by the mag to hand it to me in my perch, and it flexed just enough to loose the loop - 400' of abject garbage! I just refunded, edited the other spool, and gave it to the event organizer, with my abject apologies. Almost 40 years later, and I still feel the pain, when the lab called, and told me to get over there in a hurry.

  • Horrible support never again.

I bought a toshiba L875 laptop, thought I made a wise decision buying toshiba and now I wish I choosed differently.
about a month after I bought the laptop it started having os issues, not sure why, I made the recovery disks when I got the laptop, so I tried to recover using their built in recovery, no go, so I tried the disks the recovery wizard made me when i first got the laptop.   no go FAILED on disk 3 with preinst17.swm and preinst18.swm apparently this is a known issue that toshiba hasnt even fixed themselfs.
Thinking buying the recovery disks from toshiba would do, I paid 30 bucks, got  the disks a week and a half later, ran them and again disk 3 same files failed, cant even copy them off the disk.
talked to support, they send out another set of disks, no go same fault...   Ok now im kinda upset system down now over 3 weeks, talk to them they wanted at first to charge me 40 bucks for the flash drive version of the recovery.... now pissed I paid 30 bucks for disks that dont work, and then they want me to pay 40.00 for a thumb drive that may not work.   Then support gets his manager to approve the thumbdrive for free and pay for express delivery so I can get it as soon as possible.   He stated they would rush it out priority overnight since I was leaving the country and needed my system up and running.
Well its now a week after I last talked to him and the tracking number they gave me shows the thumb drive was picked up by DHL for Priority shipping but then turned over to USPS for deliver, its been sitting in Gorgia for the past 3 days and hasnt moved...
Yeah I will never buy another toshiba laptop ever, I will never recommend them to anyone ever.  how can you guys sell I product knowing the recovery doesnt work? and the recovery you guys sell doesnt work, there is a few threads in this forum that you guys stated its a known issue and you dont do anything about it.
My laptop has been useless for 1 month out of the 2 months I have had it.. all because their own recovery is faulty.

I had the same problem with it creating only 3 disks which locked up my computer when I tried a recovery. Called tech support and he had me try different things which all failed.  He set up a case number and said I would have to return it for repair.  They sent me a shipping box and prepaid address labels.  You must have got a lazy tech rep.  I have always got super spport from Toshiba.
The only way I will ever try a recovery on this L875D laptop is using "press the zero key on boot-up.

    Hello Aamir,
It sounds like at this point your phone will not turn on. I would like to recommend the troubleshooting from this article named:

Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.

Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the very best,
    Sterling
