Bt lie about bt infinity

bt infinity has been enabled on cab 37 following a conversation with an engineer and people are running off it  both my neighbours can receive infinity has i have checked with an independant  broadband supplier and many others on my street and all that is happening with mine is the price has increased and my speed has been reduced by 4 meg so its time after 20 years from bt to move me thinks to a more stable supplier cause bt are only in it for the money they dont give a dam about their loyal customers only what they can screw out of you

i have checked online with another supplier and the neighbours addresses it says they can get bt infiniti and for my address it says i can not have bt infiniti on the bt website it clearly says after checking i can get 11 meg  which is what i was getting upto a few weeks ago and after contacting bt an engineer was sent out but he did not come to my property instead he phoned me up after going to cab 37 and the exchange and told me people where getting fibre from the new cabinet installed nextto cab 37 which supplies my address so a called bt up and they said no one from cab 37 new cabinet was getting fibre from it and the engineer was at the cabinet at the point of calling me saying people were connected to fibre but bt say not so some one is telling lies

Well my individual experience is just with sky and the engineer's, getting a box fixed., not broadband. Engineer failed to turn up. Phoned sky got hung up on, phoned again waited ages add per usual, they phoned engineer promised he would be out as appointment today, didn't turn up, tried contacting sky through online services, got cut off from them half way through my conversation, phoned sky again, promised me the engineer would phone me, didn't get any call. Phoned back again for sky to tell me that I had no appointment today, which was really frustrating as clearly did! Phoned engineer myself, they said that nobody was speaking to them at all, they hadn't my name on the list but he told me he was "on holidays from today for two weeks and he's going home now!!" Phoned sky again to speak with management, they said they would phone back, guess what, yes there is a trend here, they didn't phone back. I just feel that sky is a really bad unreliable service. I will be leaving sky very soon. Service and that of its staff is appalling from phone staff to engineer's who work for them!! Disgraceful!

  • YOU LIED ABOUT KEEPING PHONE NUMBER CONFIDENTIAL

YOU LIED ABOUT KEEPING PHONE NUMBER CONFIDENTIAL SIGNING UP FOR SMS ACCOUNT. MY PHONE STARTED RINGING OUT OF THE POCKET 20 MINUTES LATER, ALL TELEMARKETERS CALLING FOR MY SCREEN NAME. ITS' THE 1ST AND ONLY TIME I GAVE IT OUT ON THE NET. DON'T TRUST THESE GUYS WITH YOUR REAL NUMBER, OR YOU'LL HAVE TO CHANGE IT AND NOTIFY ALL OF YOUR REAL WORLD CONTACTS. THE SYSTEM I SIGNED UP WITH WAS RADIO OFF, HARD WIRED THROUGH A FIREWALLED ROUTER, FIREWALLED COMPUTER, ALL OUTGOING DATA BLOCKED EXCEPT BROWSER.

  • Do vodafone lie about N70 unlock codes?

Hi every one, long time reader-first time poster! I recently bought myself a nearly new N70 from ebay locked to vodafone uk. Got myself a cheap vodafone pay as you go sim, registered it with the network and paid my £20 top up fee to get the unlock codes. Great, couldn't have been easier, be with you in 10 days they said....2 weeks later on contacting them, "oh, your phones not on our database, so we have to apply to Nokia for the unlock codes" it could be as much as a month they said!
Now six weeks later, ring again and get the same story "oh, we've emailed nokia, its up to them now to send the info through".
Do vodafone just plain lie about these things?, do nokia ever have anything at all to do with unlock codes?
just a couple of questions I'd love to have answered.
    regards everyone

So its a catagorical, undisputable cast iron fact that Nokia have nothing what so ever to do with unlock codes and vodafone would have no reason at all to contact nokia for codes?????

I would like my children to have the own apple accounts, without having to lie about there age. I personally have no interest in buying music at this time and want them to have there own accounts. Help make this happen. Tks

I believe that if they are not old enough for an own account, it isn't possible.
If you really don't want to lie about their age, you could make your own account and let them use it. Be sure your bank account isn't linked to it, because little children tend to innocently buy all kinds off stuff. (you could use a iTunes gift card)
lying about age is quite common, Apple can do not much about it, but only, if your children see for them harming content, Apple can't be blamed.
If someone knows much better, you better trust him, I do not know most of these kind of things

  • Best Buy Associates lied about protection plan through Geek Squad

I finally have the time and energy to re-address the ongoing issue that I am having with Best Buy and their geek squad. Before the Thanksgiving holiday of 2013, my sister came to visit me from Virginia. She is currently in the military and came home for a final visit before a 9 month deployment. She was in a need of a new phone, so being the loyal Best Buy customer that I am, I took her to Best Buy and signed up for a new 2-year agreement so that she could update her phone. The rep was nice enough to explain that there was a Geek Squad protection plan that I could purchase through Best Buy that would cover the phone if ANYTHING were to happen to the phone. I was told that I could just bring the phone in and they would either fix it or replace it. Previously I would always get my insurance from my cellular service provider, but this Geek Squad protection seemed like a great deal. I was satisfied with my purchase and the Geek Squad protection, and returned later on in the week to purchase a new phone for my Mother as an early Christmas gift, and I was sold the EXACT same Geek Squad protection.
Every month over the next several months, there was $20 dollars deducted from my account, $10 for my sister’s phone and $10 for my mother’s phone. My sister had since been deployed overseas and had an accident with her phone where it is completely un-responsive. Feeling fully confident that we had insured the purchase and that Best Buy would uphold their end of the bargain, I had her mail her phone back to the United States.
I took the phone to Best Buy and explained that the phone is not powering on and that I was covered under the Geek Squad warranty. To my complete surprise, I was informed that I was misinformed. The Geek Squad agent told me that the Cell phone group was misinforming customers and that in fact the protection information that was relayed to me, not once, but twice was the incorrect information. This is a big issue because I was given this false information twice and I have been clearly misled.
I was given a number to the Geek Squad line. I called and explained the situation and the woman basically said that there is nothing that she can do, so I inquired about a refund of the money that I paid for the protection plans. The rep stated that she would put a case in. When the case was settled, I received $20 dollars for the current month. I paid for the insurance for more than one month, I paid for 5 months. After the $20 dollar refund, I decided that instead of continuing on with the back and forth, I would just keep the insurance that I had been misled about. So I called back. Low and behold, just a few days after the initial call, I was informed that they could no longer assist me because I had dropped the insurance. I was given a corporate number who told me they couldn’t assist me and that they didn’t know why I was given their number. I went around the entire loop again and was referred to the store manager, who left a VM that I would need to contact the geek squad 1-800 number.
Just as this is a long letter, imagine the time and energy it took to go through this entire process. Lying and misleading loyal and faithful customers is bad enough, but to know that when my sister who is serving our country overseas, and who has been doing so for the past 7 months will come home to a phone that doesn’t work is very upsetting. I was tempted to let this situation go but being a loyal customer to Best Buy should mean something to the store and to the management. If I am a future best buy customer will be dependent on how Best Buy handles this situation. Customers shouldn’t be lied to and mislead.

    Hello CM2014,
Staying in touch with family members is difficult without a phone, even more so when a loved one is overseas. It was very nice of you to make sure your sister had one while on deployment, so I can imagine your frustration if we denied her request for service when you brought in her mailed phone for repair. I’m not sure of the exact reason as to why this might’ve happened; however, there are a few reasons why a Rapid Exchange repair underneath her Geek Squad Protection (GSP) plan wasn’t an option.
With Rapid Exchange, a damaged or non-working phone should be sent out for service. To save our customers valuable time, a service order is simultaneously created from our service provider to ship out an already repaired phone. These phones go through a rigorous refurbishment process to make sure that a customer receives a phone meeting its manufacturer’s standards.  If a smartphone is damaged though, we do request that a $149.99 deductible be paid to receive a repaired phone. This fee will also be applied should service be needed after the manufacturer’s warranty has expired. You are limited to three claim submissions after which the plan would be considered fulfilled.
Our GSP plan should cover any hardware issues with the phone along with liquid spills or damage such as a cracked screen. Please know that it wouldn’t cover products that have been submerged, dropped from extreme heights, or have been run over by or fallen from moving vehicles.  Having said this, our associates should be fully explaining why a phone was rejected for service, and I’m sorry if this wasn’t the case. If you don’t me asking, what was wrong with your sister’s phone?
To see how I may help with this, I pulled up your account using the email address attached to your forum profile. I did notice though that the GSP plan is underneath a name other than your own, and due to our Privacy Policy, I’d be unable to discuss the situation at hand. Please have the owner of the phone and plan create a forum profile and private message me with their contact information so that I may see what options we may have available from here. To send me a message, please have them sign into their profile, and click on the button in my signature below.

  • Question about new infinity contract

    Hi,
I'm thinking of signing up with BT Infinity on the 19.99->27.99 calls/unlimited BB package.
During the online order process I was unsure of a few things
    a) If I decide to stick with monthly phone line billing during the order process, can I still make this change at a later point in time to save the £2/month (obviously with the 12 month applying from that time)
    b) Engineer appts are coming up for mid Jan. Am I able to cancel prior to this date at no charge without affecting both BB and phone contracts? Is it also easy to change the date?
    c) If I went for the 9.99 "line saver" does this apply from i) date of BB provision ii) immediately [this is the reason I'm thinking about a) in case b) applies]

    hi mate
    A - yes
B - yes just call cs a few days in advance
C - not sure what you want to know please explain further

  • Acrobat lying about file size

I am trying to create a small PDF using Acrobat 8 on a Mac. I have several jpg files, and together they are exactly 10.17 MB. I am using the Combine Files feature of Acrobat. I press add files, select my jpgs, and choose 'Default File Size'. I press Next, than Create. Acrobat then proceeds to combine the files, and informs that the Original Total Size is 10.17 MB, and that the final PDF size is 103.16 KB. So I press 'Save', and save the PDF file. But the PDF file that is saved is about 10.4 MB!!
There is obviously an issue here, and I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure out why the Combine Files dialog is lying to me. Please help!

This does not seem to help There are no embedded fonts; I'm just putting images together using Combine Files. I set the options to the following in the PDF Optimizer, and the file size is still 10.4 MB (text in red is what is selected):

Like I said, the above options yield a pdf of the same size (10.4 MB). I don't know what the deal is.
Recently I've had to reinstall CS3 due to a hard drive failure. Could there possibly be some default option that is different now? Because, before the reinstall I used Combined Files and it always yielded a pdf of the size that Combine Files said it would be.
Just in case additional details are needed: I'm using Acrobat 8 Professional as part of CS3 Design Standard, on an Intel Mac running Mac OS 10.5.7.

  • Is nokia lying about n95 tech spec?

    Hi.
I is wondering about one thing.
In several programs on my Nokia n95 I have seen that the CPU is only 206mhz!!! :/
I have reading about the nokia n95 since October last year. And i understand it was a 330mhz.
But why is all the program I have used so far in my phone showed 206mhz???
I understand also it should be the same chipset like Nokia n93.
But have enyone look in a program (like NsysInfo) what it is actual showing? Is it showing an 330mhz or 206mhz in the nokia n93?
In several test about n95 vs n93 is the conclusion that Nokia n93 has a lot better performance then n95. But they have the same cpu 330mhz ...or has they?
Or could it be that Nokia has slowed down the cpu because it tooks to much battery ...but they maybe set it to normal in a later firmware? Or they have maybe another reason.
So for n93 owner... please try the nsysinfo program(http://nsysinfo.softonic.de/symbian -freeware) and the look if it says 206mhz or 330mhz. Then post the result here.
If it says 330mhz then it have nothing to do with the program not reading the CPU right ...because Nokia n95 have the same type of CPU!
    (sorry for my bad english)
N95 is only a "half" Symbian phone. The n95 is now called: "N95 Beta" by heavy symbian users.
    http://discussions.europe.nokia.com/discussions/board/message?board.id=smartphones&message.id=56819

The programs you're talking about, read a fixed operating system constant value returned by the HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer).
That constant is fixed/hardcoded when the Symbian operating system backporting (adapting the OS to new hardware is done).
For the N95, the value is incorrect (someone proabably just forgot or didn't bother to change the constant), so applications that just report the constant, will not report the true CPU speed.
The applications would have to implement their own algorithm to determine/estimate the actual processor speed (or have an internal table to look up the information).
In other words, the specs are correct (not lying), and the programs you tried report a constant value that is incorrectly defined in the firmware, and do not reflect the true clock speed of the application processor.

  • Apprehensive about BT Infinity

Being almost in another galaxy as far as line length goes (1.9meg down) why I am dithering about signing up for Infinity? It is offering 30meg so it should be a no brainer! Well one thing is all the talk about the FUP. I doubt I will get anywhere near the 300gb (?) on option 2 but there are some interesting posts on the subject which bother me. Basically they, (BT) seem to be able to move the goalposts so to speak when they want and given that it is an 18mth contract, what is pretty good now could not be down the line.
Why can't I make my mind up - could it be 'cos it's BT?
Can someone please reassure me and convince me I should go for it.
Oh, and where is their helpdesk based should I need it?

I've had it since march. Was only quoted 15mb, but I get near enough the full speed (37mbps, with 8mbps up), always have. The engineer also said I always will I'm probably about 100-120m from the cabinet, that's as best I can work out on google maps as the cab is around the corner.
Also, if it helps, I was on 2.5mbps for years with bt, on the highest upto 8mb package, and then upto 20mb (when they moved to that). In the first few months I downloaded like a greedy sod, easily hitting 1tb every couple of months. It doesn't matter if they reduce the speed, because after midnight, or before 4pm ish.. your good to go. Never really known people to download p2p in the evenings anyway. Even then, p2p is throttle in the evening. So if you plan to p2p, then go for it, you will really run out of things to download!
Also, I've had no issues with speeds going up and down, no worrying about if the router knocks off in a powercut and your line speed will go down, none of that. It's set in stone by the engineer when you get it installed.

  • 3 questions about 'BT Infinity' Option 2

    So here they are.
    1) Is the 100gb limit for BT broadband option 3 customers, definately the same usage limit for BT Infinity option 2 customers?
    2) When the cap is reached, is the cap in place 24 hours a day for approximately 30 days, or is the cap in place only between peak hours (5pm - 12pm), i.e. do speeds return to normal at off peak hours even though you hit the 100gb cap?
    3) Assuming the cap is only in place during peak hours, if you use the line heavilly during off peak hours, will you then be capped at 1meg constantly for those 30 days?

thanks, hopefully some other users here can fill in the blanks.
I'm in a situation where i stand to strip the 100gb cap with upload alone.
It's pretty much the main reason i'm even considering switching from Be* Pro, whome i currently get 14meg down, 1.8meg up with, i design websites and such, a lot of this involves uploading/downloading large databases and entire site structures which is why the higher upload speed appeals to me, but at the same time i do not wish to switch if i'll only get about a weeks normal usage before only being able to use it normally at off peak hours.
Since a lot of the design work i do is for american and chinese clients it doesn't really matter if the net is slow at 5pm-midnight, since during this time i do little to no work via the net and it's used purely for browsing/email, during the night and mornings however my usage can soar considerably.
My currently FTP tools indicate that in site work alone this month i have uploaded 194gb and downloaded 87, in just 14 days.

  • Apps lying about iPad compatibility in iTunes store

    Hi!
I recently bought an app (Unicode & Emoji Universal Keyboard by iPhoneBestSoft.com) from the iTunes store that said it was compatible with iPad, but when I installed it, it is only compatible with iPod touch or iPhone. I'm pretty annoyed that I have wasted my money. There is no way of contacting the developers on their website, either. How come they are allowed to lie in the iTunes description and take my money? Is there anything I can do?

Have you tried guessing email addresses such as [email protected] or [email protected] etc.?
If you can't get a response, then report a problem with the App through the link in your iTunes Account info and let the iTunes Store staff know.
Developers should provide contact and support information for customers.

  • Phone Agent LIED about removing Late Fee

OK, so I had to biz-travel a bit this past Spring, inadvertantly got behind on the bill, paid up in full, incl. LATE FEE--online--June 21st, in the wee hours, before phone agents available. Later that evening, thought "doesn't hurt to ask", got a live agent/rep on the line (Philippines call center), very nice and professional, who, after much time on hold, TOLD ME CLEARLY AND DEFINITIVELY that the Late Fee had been WAIVED, and "thank you for being a Comcast customer, yadda-yadda"... put it out of my mind as another item crossed off my to-do list. So imagine my chagrin when I went to pay my bill this month, ON TIME, only to find that there had been no credit whatsoever, ZERO, zilch.  Basically, they LIED just to get me off the phone, after wasting 10 minutes (9:55 to be exact) of my time. Building loyalty NOT. DSL has gotten MUCH better in my area, and so has SATELLITE, and I'm coming up on the 1-year mark with Comcast... So I'm feeling the BIG SWITCH coming on!  I'll get all the "new customer" deals, and perhaps fewer OUTRIGHT LIES. BOTTOM LINE: If you're not going waive/refund the late fee, just be grown-ups and SAY SO, don't "shine me on" just to get me to go away... 'cause I'm likely to go away for good, and take my subscriber $$ with me.

    @AlphaJet
I am sorry for the delay. I have sent you a private message to assist you further.

  • HT2534 Why are you lying about being able to create an account without a credit card?

In the support section it says you can create a credit card free account by simply selecting the "none" option in the pick a payment source section
But when I tried that's not what happened. It's either a big lie or you guys just didn't know

I have no idea who you think we are, but we're not Apple, or what good reason you have for your "liar" remarks, but the None option is not available in all countries, and no amount of name calling can change that. Sorry.

  • Do the BIOS that fix CPU temps simply lie about it?

    I have a Newcastle A64 3400 with the K8N Neo Platinum (W7030).
Whenever I turn on my PC from a period of inactivity the temp says 55-60C, when I then reset the PC it says the temperature is in the 30s.
The only place I could get my case temperature probe is wedged between the fins of my CPU heatsink and that always reads about 40C or up to 45C under load.
Can this be right? Which of these temperatures should I trust and would my heatsink generally be hotter than the temperature of the actual CPU?
I'm getting these readings from Corecenter btw, it also says the CPU fan is spinning at over 5000 rpm under load, usually around 4000 rpm idle.
    Cheers for any help!

There is a known cold boot temp issue. It gives false readings after a cold boot but the temps are supposed to be somewhat OK after any warm boot. As temps really don't affect you and it would take some pretty high temps around 70c to bother anything my advice is to ignore it.
