BT nightmare continues...

I used to be a BT Infity user before moving to a new house. Since then I switched to Total Broadband as Infinity was not available in my area yet. I decided to stay with BT as I was promised for the service to be active straight after the move. Unfortunately it was not activated and I was informed it was gonna be delayed for 1 week. Knowing that I would have chosen a different provider. After the service was activated I couldn't connect and had a horrible time with very bad technical support. Wasted over an hour on the phone trying to connect to broadband with several BT assistants. I asked whether I needed to switch to a different router as I still had HomeHub 2.0 but I was assured multiple times that it was ok to use it with Total Broadband. The problem was not resolved and an appointment with an Open Reach engineer was arranged. It turned out the router was not appropriate and I wasted one day of holiday to find out something that could have been done on the phone. Horrible start!
The connection work fine for about a week. It has been dropping every couple of minutes since 14th of May and when it works for a moment, it runs with speeds shown in the picture (which is almost unusable). Reported the problem and was informed that there was a major fault in my area (Petts Wood, Kent). This didn't get fixed for the following 4 days. Called again to cancel but was asked to wait another 10 days before it's possible to terminate the contract without additional charges. Also someone was supposed to call me in the middle of last to give me an update. Nobody called so I contacted BT customer service to cancel it. I've been told that I need to pay £150 for cancelling the contract as they're still trying resolve the issue. They were also unable to give me a timeframe when it will be fixed or when I could cancel the service.
BT is making my life very difficult as I need a stable connection to work remotely and I'm not able to arrange for furniture & home equipment deliveries.
How can I escalate that?

  • MacBook Pro's (17" 2.4 intel) The lion nightmare continues- wi-fi networks forgotten after sleep/restarts?

    Hello all,
I made the mistake of upgrading (funny word for what I got) to Lion, and ever since, I've had numerous issues with my trusty MacBookPro (2008, 2.4 ghz, 17").  The latest problem has been severly annoying though, and I just would like to see if any of you have some tips I could try out.  Basically, every single time I close down the lid to put my computer to sleep, or even after it goes to sleep on it's own, when I go to wake my computer, it no longer is connected to my wi-fi network, and for a period of 2-5 minutes, is acts like it is searching for networks.  When this exercise is over, I can use the pull down menu brought up by clicking on the wifi icon to select my network and the computer re-connects.  I saw that Apple released an update for 2011 MacBookPro's that had this same issue, and this made the problem even more irritating to me since they failed to address those of us who have older computers that have the same issue.  I have tried erasing all known network in the network preferences window using the plus and minus buttons, and then re-adding my network.  That didn't work.  Any advice you guys have would be great, and if anyone knows of Apple issuing refunds for people who purchased Lion, please let me know;)
Thanks very much for your time!
    -Randall

every single time I close down the lid to put my computer to sleep, or even after it goes to sleep on it's own, when I go to wake my computer, it no longer is connected to my wi-fi network, and for a period of 2-5 minutes, is acts like it is searching for networks
the computer does disconnect if it goes to sleep to conserve power, as WiFi takes a lot of it.
now connecting back up is the problem, so what you do is review the Wifi secuirty page here, change your network name and password on the router, WPA2(AES)
then connect manually on the Mac and when it says "remember this in my keychain" do so, this way it will connect automatically.
If you have a "hidden network" on the router, the Mac has to keep asking "joe network are you there?" and this is security issue obviiously as you could be taking your machine to a coffe shop and it's asking where "joe is" thus letting the hackers know you have a hidden network someplace.
So the Mac doesn't ask "joe are you there" it only does so when you boot up, not waking from sleep where it can be moved.
So turn off "hidden network" on your rouer as it's not protecting you one bit, the hackers can sniff hidden networks too.
    Got it?

  • OS-X 10.2.8 System Prefs Nightmare Continues

OK. I found WHERE the problem is , i just don't know what to do about it. I installed an audio driver, following which, system prefs would not open. It just keeps loading forever and the only thing i can do is force quit. I uninstalled the driver, but sysprefs STILL does the same thing. On my system disk, when i try to open the Preference Panes folder, it's really slow. Then when i try to open the soundprefpanes folder, it just keeps loading and loading but the folder will not open. Can i just delete the folder entirely, or what will that do? Or is there a way to force the folder open so i can delete the bad file(s)? If anybody has any suggestions, please help because i need it. Thanks.

    Cornelius:
Thanks for the suggestions. I did do the Repair Disk Permissions previously, and I tried your first suggestion to reset the PRAM, and no change. Still the same story with the SysPrefs. However, as stupid as I can sometimes be, I just reread the system requirements on the audio driver I tried installing and while all over the box and in the manual are 'Mac OS-X compatible' messages, in fineprint on the bottom of the box are detailed system requirements and for Mac, they are G3 or higher with 600 MHz of clock speed. I have a PowerMac G4 with dual 456 processors. So I'll have to upgrade to use this driver, but, does that mean my current processors are fried? And speaking of Disk Repair, when I try to repair the Mac HD, i get the message that unmount failed because the hard drive is in use. So, how DO you do a disk repair on the HD? Thanks again for your help.

  • The Nightmare of cancelling AT&T bundled services continues...

Feb. 12th I called to cancel my bundled services: Uverse, Home Phone, and Internet. I opted to go with Charter because at the present time, AT&T could not come close to the internet speed offered by Charter in my local area. This process actually took me 4 days and a total of 5 calls and 2 chat sessions. I finally confirmed cancellation on that 5th call, and we selected Feb 18th as the cut-off day- I booked Charter to install on the 17th, so I wanted to overlap by a day just in case. Since we were in the middle of a billing period, I received my rebate check in the mail for my home phone very quickly- within about 10 days. However, I never received a rebate check for the Uverse and Internet services. All my AT&T equipment was returned, and I have UPS verification that it was received. After receiving my next months bill, I called AT&T again and was told by the rep that "Yes he could see on my account where I had called to cancel" but for some reason there was a problem, and the system would not allow him to cancel it. I was told he would forward the info to someone else, and he guaranteed the problem would be quickly solved. Of course when I did not hear anything back or receive any email, I called back a 7th time on March 7 and talked with a rep by the name of Omar. He guaranteed to resolve the cancellation and even gave me a confirmation # 1040400712. I continued to receive new bills that added additional monthly service even though I no longer had service and all equipment was returned. On my 8th call, placed on April 8, the rep told me that "the back office  has to handle this," and that "they will call me back within 2 days." Of course, they did not. On my 9th call, placed on May 18, my rep was Eddie from Charlotte, NC and he told me that he would be emailing his boss, a "Mr. Duffy," and that "Mr Duffy will call me back to confirm." Not surprisingly, I received no call back or email, even though Eddie confirmed my AT&T wireless call back number before ending the conversation. Still continuing to receive new monthly bills with additional charges, I made my 10th call on May 29, my rep was Ervay Williams  from Nashville. Once again he read from the same script as everyone else, telling me that he saw on the system where I had called to cancel, but for some reason his system was down and that his manager, Tracy Ricks would take care of it. He also promised to call me back later in the afternoon after lunch once it was resolved. Once again, no call back even though he confirmed my call back number before ending the call. I started recording these calls and will be posting them on youtube so the public can become aware of this ridiculous customer service. This nightmare continues, please help!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpGIiazsJyg

I have been using the "atomic browser" for more than a month now. It not only uses real tabs, but allows background loading of tabs, and the ability to turn off images so that you just get text and the pages load alot faster as well as saving bandwidth. I still had more than 20Mb left last month on a 250 plan.

  • IPhone 4S activation NIGHTMARE, Apple problem, not AT&T

Got new iPhone 4S delivered on release day (Friday, Oct 14).  Activated without problem.  On Sunday, it quit working except when connected to wall charger.
On Monday, called AppleCare, hardware failure was problem.  Had choice to pay $29 for them to immediately send me another one, or, they would send me a box to mail in my broken iPhone, then they would send me a repaired or replacement iPhone 4S.  Opted for latter.  Drove 40 miles to AT&T store to get new SIM card for old iPhone 3GS, activated it in store.  Got shipping box for 1st iPhone 4S on Tuesday, mailed on Tuesday.  Got replacement iPhone 4S on Thursday, late in day.  Replacement was quick, no complaints.
Nightmare Friday:  ready to activate replacement iPhone 4S, about 5:00 PM called AT&T Business from my office phone to activate, had obtained IMEI & SIM card nos. from screen on new iPhone 4S.  I noticed, however, that the IMEI no. on the phone was different from the IMEI no. shown on the shipping box that replacement iPhone 4S came in.  Initially, the process went smooth until the time came for phone to actually activate.  It wouldn't.
After going through initial menu on iPhone to activate, I end up with message:  Device unknown   This iPhone is not recognized and cannot be activated for service.  Please visit your nearest Apple Store for more information.  The closest Apple Store for me is over 110 miles away.
Connected replacement iPhone 4S to MacBook Pro.  In iTunes, I get the following message:  There is a problem with your iPhone.  We're sorry, the iPhone you connected is not recognized and cannot be activated for service.  We recommend you visit your nearest Apple Store for more information.  To find your nearest Apple Store, click here.
I'm still on the call with AT&T.  They transfer call to AppleCare tech support.  Verified IMEI no. and SIM card no. off of the SIM card tray.  Technician advises that the IMEI no. is not in his system.  We figured out that this IMEI no. did not match the number on my shipping box.  Verified the serial no. from the SIM card tray, technician never advised me whether that number was in his system, but it also did not match the serial no. shown on shipping box.  We tried the hard reset procedure twice, same results and messages.  We tried to get it to work with the old SIM card from my 1st iPhone 4S, same results and messages.  Technician brought AT&T guy into the phone call.  Verified and re-verified all of these nos. several times, from the iPhone 4S screen and from the bottom of the SIM card tray, although I had to find a magnifying glass to see the numbers clearly, they are very small.  The AT&T guy repeatedly related that there appeared to be no problems on his end.  I was getting a cellular signal with 3G, which apparently was able to attempt activation over cellular airwaves.  Also tried activation over my wi-fi network and through iTunes.  We were on hold for what seemed forever while technician tried to figure out the problem.
During the call, I received several calls from family wondering what in the he[ck] I was doing and why I wasn't home yet to grill steaks!  This procedure should not have taken longer than 10-15 minutes, but it ended up lasting 3 hours and 10 minutes.  The call ended when I got another call from home and I forgot to hit the HOLD button for the call to AT&T/AppleCare tech when I answered the other line.  I opted to go home.  Steaks are still marinating, we ate McDonalds.  Had an e-mail from the technician, left him a voice mail, I think he went home.
Later this evening, logged onto my Apple account which showed my registered products by serial no.  They have listed my initial iPhone 4S which I sent in.  They also have listed another iPhone 4S with the serial no. shown on the shipping box, which is inconsistent with the serial no. shown on the bottom of the SIM card tray of the replacement iPhone 4S.  I initially tried to create a Support Case No. online using the serial no. from the iPhone, not the box.  Was quickly given message that that serial no. was not valid.
So, I find myself again with an inoperable iPhone 4S on a weekend and the only option to get my old iPhone 3GS activated again is to drive 40 miles to the AT&T store to get another SIM card.  With no prospects for getting an operable iPhone 4S any time soon, the nightmare continues.
I have been a dedicated user of Apple computers and products (iPods, iPhone, iPads et al as they came out) for over 20 years.  Never have I experienced a nightmare of this magnitude until now.  Up until today, I would never have considered the thought of being on the negative side of Apple's top-rated customer satisfaction.
One can only hope that someone in AppleCare Tech Support with the authority to resolve such problems reads these boards AND is willing to look into this without delay (like before our steak dinner Saturday evening).  Are you listening (reading)???

NIGHTMARE Finally Ends, after nearly two weeks.
After trying for over a week trying to get my replacement iPhone 4S to activate, I ended up driving 110+ miles to an Apple Store to get a second replacement, which had been specially shipped there for me.  Popped in the SIM card, went through the setup and I finally have an iPhone 4S that works, at least for the time being.
Advice to others who find themselves in this situation:
         1)     If you get these messages (see original post), the phone is bad.  Demand a replacement.
         2)     If the AppleCare tech advises that the Apple Agreement Administration team is investigating, you'll be waiting for a week or more for them to complete it.  Demand a replacement immediately, don't let them put you off indefinitely.
After the initial phone call documented in my original post, I was in daily contact, phone & e-mail, with the AppleCare tech trying to figure out the problem, and we tried everything, from forced restore's to switching SIM cards, conferencing w/ AT&T, etc.  It seems that this was a case of first impression to Apple, but if it wasn't, then the problem is not well documented or known by those who should know, and for that, the blame should be on Apple, not the AppleCare tech who worked tirelessly trying to figure out a solution--I'd send him a case of beer if I knew where to send it.

  • Adobe ID - cannot use creative cloud just bought

    Please please someone help.
I have spent a fortune ringing the US support number from NZ and the chicken and egg nightmare continues.
I was forced to create a new Adobe ID when I signed up yesterday to Creative Cloud.  I now live in NZ but old ID was in the UK.
I was told I have to keep the old ID for my existing products and the Cloud subscription will remain on the new ID.
I get an email saying that my Creative CLoud is activated and to verify my email address in order for it to start to work - this came thru on the OLD ID email.
I go into both Adobe ID profiles and see that the Creative CLoud service that I have already paid for does not appear on either ID !!!!!

This reply is no use as the chat option is not available to me in NZ.
I rang the call centre today (is in India) - it took 60 mins to get an answer.
I was told they would transfer my software to my new ID and ensure Cloud subscription works on new ID I bought it with.
What has happened is that my new ID has been deleted instead, so I now have no Cloud subscription either. Stuck - completely. Every call to Adobe, very expensive and takes hours and results in situation getting worse and worse.
    Please help!

  • Absolute WORST customer support - lied to and ignored

I have never received worse customer support from a company.
About a month ago I downloaded the trial for Adobe Media Server 5 as we had been running FCS 1.5 for a long time and decided it was time to update.
The trial worked well for my custom application, and I was contacted by an Adobe Sales Rep during the trial period.
I chatted with her on the phone and she assured me that the ONLY difference between AMS 5 Standard and AMS 5 Professional (besided an additional $1000 price tag) was that AMS 5 Professional had IP multicasting, which is functionality we did not need (this was misinformation #1). She assured me there would be educational pricing (as I work at a University).
I received a link to the regular store, and when I inquired about it I was told there was no education pricing for AMS 5 (misinformation #2).
So based on the advice of the representative, we purchased the standard edition - purchasing here takes multiple signatures and a few weeks of time. When we finally got AMS 5 standard, I installed it and.. lo and behold my application did not work - but it worked when I removed the serial # from the server. After a ridiculous amount of digging and reading the logs, I found that AMS standard does not support custom applications. I had been misinformed by the sales representative.
I then contacted support - that took about 1.5 hours for them to get back to me, and then when I picked up the phone (using the callback service) it took another 10 minutes for someone to pick up! I had to give my information 3 separate times to 3 separate staff before I was transferred to the proper department. I spoke to someone on the AMS sales team and told them I had been misinformed by a representative about my purchase, and now I will not be able to make my deadline so I was hoping there was some way this could be fixed. They asked for the name of the representative and mentioned they would speak to them and and get back to me.
The original sales representative got back to me and I spoke with her and she insisted that I was incorrect and that she specifically mentioned custom apps. I said that was not the case and if possible, could we review the phone call recording for accuracy? She said that would take some time. I said considering this was Adobe's mistake, would it be possible to upgrade my version? She said they do not do that anymore and that the best they could do was a refund. I explained that my deadline was looming and that I would not be able to purchase a new verison in time. She said there was nothing she could do, so I asked to speak to the manager. The manager e-mailed my asking for my phone number, and then never called me. So 2 hours later I sent the following e-mail:
    Hi [Manager],
I am still anticipating your call today before 4:00 pm PST. I had asked that my original phone conversation recording be reviewed for accuracy. The resolution of this issue is time sensitive so please call as soon as possible.
    Cheers,
    [Me]
and I received this in response.
    Hi [Me],
My calendar is tied up today. I will call you first thing tomorrow morning.
Also wanted to let you know that we do not record calls.
    Thanks,
    [Manager]
Okay, a call centre that doesn't record calls - really? That's 3 pieces of conflicting information now. Then (admittedly) I got a bit angry:
I keep getting different information from each person and it has wasted a significant amount of my time. On the phone I was told we could review the recording of the call, now I am told that you don't record the calls. I was told there was educational pricing, then I find there is not educational pricing. I was told that the only difference between the versions was IP multicasting which led me to purchase the standard version, then I had to find out on my own that that was not the case. I would like Adobe to take responsibility for their mistakes and misinformation. I would like an upgrade to the professional version. If you are not authorized to do that, please put me in contact with someone who can.
And guess what? Nothing. So I sent another e-mail.
    Hi [Manager],
Is there any reason why I have not gotten a phone call or e-mail response?
    Thanks,
    [Me]
    I got this back:
I just called and left you a VM.
Will try to connect with you later today.
    Thanks,
    [Manager]
And I haven't heard from them since. The deadline was today, now I have no server, no running application, and am totally hooped. We have PO in for the pro version, but that won't be processed for probably another week. I have mailed the manager back and the sales rep letting them know I'll be following up on the issue, but I doubt I will get any repsonse from them either and I have no clue where to even direct my inquiry...
So, thanks Adobe, for providing the wrong purchasing advice, blaming it on me, giving me the runaround and ignoring me. I guess companies no longer really care about their customers, just the bottom line.

    Well, it's now end-of-day on the 10th.
After sending e-mails to the 2 parties above telling them I would be following up, I got a follow up late last Friday with someone who claimed to be getting a temporary serial key, only then to tell me afterwards that it was not possible.
Monday, my support ticket was closed with no explanation. I reopened it.
I have had someone PM me on the forums yesterday, telling me a senior agent would contact me. They haven't.
So, the nightmare continues I suppose. I'll keep updating this until it gets resolved.

  • VIDEO CARDS QuadroFX4500 and RADEON  X1900 won't work

I have the TWO VIDEO CARDS AND CAN'T RUN VIDEO WITHOUT IT GETTING STUTTERING VIDEO. LOOKS LIKE NOT ENOUGH MEMORY. WITH JUST THE 4500 ATTACHED TO 2 30 INCH APPLE MONITORS I WOULD GET A HORIZONTAL LINE ABOUT 1/3 FROM THE TOP OF THE SCREEN. SWITCH DVI'S AND IT APPEARS ON THE OTHER MONOTOR, SO ITS NOT THE MONITORS. USED THE HARDWARE DISC AND THE LINE SHOWS UP WHEN YOU START. HAVE HAD THE $500 REPLACED TWICE BECAUSE APPLE SAYS THATS THE PROBLEM BUT THE LINE STAYS. NEVER MIND I CAN'T CONNECT THE OTHER 2 30 INCH APPLE MONITORS WITHOUT EVERYTHING SLOWING DOWN. I HAVE ONLY APPLE SOFTWARE ONE THE 07 MACPRO WITH 6GIGS OF DRAM AND TWO HARD DRIVES 500 GIGS AND 750 GIGS and one 750 external Seagate hard drive.

Sorry, didn't realize till later,I wasn't looking. No they never worked together. Actually I first had a nVidia GeForce 7300 GT from apple to go with the 4500, but it still sits in a box, was completely incompatible or pooched???. The Quadro 4500 always gave me a horizontal line when only two 30 inch Apple monitors were hooked up.Its been replaced a couple of times, still the horizontal line remains. Recently I acquired the X1900 thinking the dual dvi output could run one more 30 incher and one single link out to my 55 inch plasma(a dream I once had). I can get slideshows from Aperture to run, but no full screen video. It slugs along skipping every few frames. My 2 year nightmare continues. Thanks for your inquiry though maybe you know what is or should I say isn't happening. This is my second computer since my Commodore Vic-20. The first one was a G5 fully loaded that blew up 3 weeks after its arrival and finally was returned for my current Macpro. Thank you Applecare! I'm a very frustrated Newbie.

  • How do I get my phone billed corrected without wasting another 3 hours?

On March 3, 2015, I ordered two “iPhone 6 plus 64 GB” along with 2 protective cases from verizonwireless.com/. The iPhones were on the edge plan, one was an upgrade and the other was a new line being transferred from Sprint.  They were to be shipped overnight.  FedEx attempted delivery on March 4, 2015, but we were not at home at the time. There was a snow storm on March 5, 2015 so I don’t think there were any deliveries that day.  On March 6, 2015, I checked the tracking information as I had not received the packages yet.  The tracking information said they were delivered but I did not have them.  I had to call FedEx twice on March 6, 2015 to find out where they were delivered.  They called me back and told me they were incorrectly delivered to the Verizon store and were going to attempt to retrieve the packages and redeliver them.  I called FedEx back on March 7, 2015 and found out they were delivered to 14937-C Shady Grove Rd, Rockville, MD 20850, which is The Wireless Center, Inc. an authorized Verizon retailer.  I went to this store that morning and the store clerk told me that he remembered them receiving two packages with iPhones and cases, and they didn’t know what they were for.  He looked about the storage room a few times but was not able to locate them and called his store manager who was on his way to the store.  I came back later to the store and spoke with the store manager and he told me they didn’t have my packages and that I would have to call Verizon to resend the phones.  I called FedEx again on March 7, 2015 to let them know that it was unlikely that they would be able to retrieve the packages.  I called them again the following week on March 10, 2015 and they confirmed that they were unable to retrieve the packages (Spent a total of 37 minutes on the phone with just FedEx trying to track down the shipments).  I also called Verizon Wireless on March 7, 2015 to get new iPhones shipped.  I told the customer service rep. the above information and requested to get new phones sent.  She told me that she initiated a “ticket” and would call me back in 24 hours and she confirmed that she would be able to call me in 24 hours as the following day was a Sunday.  I never received a call back from this customer service rep.  I called Verizon Wireless again on March 10, 2015 to check to see if new iPhones were sent and when I should expect to receive them.  The customer service rep. told me I should call back tomorrow as there was no update to the “ticket.” So I called back on March 11, 2015 and got the same response that there was no update to the “ticket” and to call back tomorrow.  So again I called back on March 12, 2015 and at that point I just wanted the nightmare over and the orders canceled and refunded so I could maybe try ordering again at a later time(Maybe with another phone carrier as my years of loyalty was running thin).  The third time was the charm so I thought, the customer service rep. on March 12, 2015 told me the orders were canceled and my plan would go back to what I had before the orders as well as refunds for the protective cases.  Well that has yet to correctly happen.  I received a refund for one of the protective cases on March 12, 2015 for $35.76, but still have yet to receive a refund for the other protective case that was charged to my credit card on March 4, 2015 for $27.81. I got a huge surprise as the nightmare continued, when I got my March 15, 2015 phone bill.  It had all the charges for the new iPhones as of March 4, 2015 that I never received.  So I called Verizon Wireless again to correct.  The customer service rep. said it would be corrected on my next phone bill. So I waited for my April 15, 2015 phone bill and it was missing the credits that I was supposed to receive and still charging me for the edge installments for one of the iPhones that I never received.  So here I was again calling Verizon Wireless, this time the customer service rep. told me that she initiated two forms to process the credits and I would be contacted within 7-10 business days.  Which is where we are now, still waiting for billing credits and having already spent over 120 minutes on hold or speaking with Verizon Wireless customer service reps. and another 37 minutes speaking with FedEx customer service reps., not to mention the 20 plus minutes ordering the phones and the other 20 minutes spent trying to recover the packages at the Wireless Center, Inc. store. Over 3 hours of my time wasted and I have got nothing and the issue is still not resolved.

1st - any charges on a credit card, call the credit card company and dispute those charges
2nd - get all your paperwork together and in order of the timeline of events and file an official complaint with Verizon.
    http://www.verizonwireless.com/dam/support/pdf/Notice_of_Dispute.pdf
HOW AND WHEN CAN I DISPUTE CHARGES?
If you're a Postpay customer, you can dispute your bill within 180 days of receiving it, but unless otherwise provided by law or unless you're disputing charges because your wireless device was lost or stolen, you still have to pay all charges until the dispute is resolved. If you're a Prepaid customer, you can dispute a charge within 180 days of the date the disputed charge was incurred. YOU MAY CALL US TO DISPUTE CHARGES ON YOUR BILL OR ANY SERVICE(S) FOR WHICH YOU WERE BILLED, BUT IF YOU WISH TO PRESERVE YOUR RIGHT TO BRING AN ARBITRATION OR SMALL CLAIMS CASE REGARDING SUCH DISPUTE, YOU MUST WRITE TO US AT THE CUSTOMER SERVICE ADDRESS ON YOUR BILL, OR SEND US A COMPLETED NOTICE OF DISPUTE FORM (AVAILABLE AT VERIZONWIRELESS.COM), WITHIN THE 180–DAY PERIOD MENTIONED ABOVE. IF YOU DO NOT NOTIFY US IN WRITING OF SUCH DISPUTE WITHIN THE 180-DAY PERIOD, YOU WILL HAVE WAIVED YOUR RIGHT TO DISPUTE THE BILL OR SUCH SERVICE(S) AND TO BRING AN ARBITRATION OR SMALL CLAIMS CASE REGARDING ANY SUCH DISPUTE.

  • 3rd party apps from someone other then Apple

Does anyone now if you can get 3rd party apps without jail braking and without using Apples application store. I found a website that offers apps that I really want and was very disappointed to see none of the in the Apps store and dont know why nobody made them or offered them there. For $24.99 I can get all these apps that I was really looking forward to seeing in the apps store but werent:
NES System : Nintendo with all the games
Customization : Were I can custom every aspect of the I-Phone from I-cons to backgrounds
Screen shot : A app where I can take a picture of anything that my I-Phone is viewing at that time like from a game or a website ETC.
Video Recorder : I cant believe there was no video recorder in the apples web app release it is just something every phone should have
MMS : Picture messaging, I mean I dont know how many times I recieve a picture message and have to wait till I get home to go on my computer to go to a website just to see them. How long it takes also with normal broadband just to see a simple picture.........This is a must have app
Ringtone: Now all you have to do is select a song from your music library and put it to you contacts that easy no cutting or editing it down to size, no extra programs to make them with and no money to spend to make them
Also much more that I dont feel like describing like:
    Instant Messenger
    YouTube Downloader
    Books
    VNC

Wow don't try to send a MMS to someones cell phone from the e-mail option this was a nightmare. I tried it to see if it would work and I received a message that the attempt didn't succeed so it kept trying and trying automatically. Then I get a phone call from the person I sent it to telling me it work but for me to quit sending it. I said I only sent it once then he said I have like 15 already so I check out my phone and it is really warm I looked at it and the battery went from fully full to a little less then half empty. So I am like what the heck so I go into my e-mail account and I see there is an e-mail demon meaning there was an attempt to send a e-mail but it didn't succeed. Normally when this happens it will make another try just to make sure it wasn't a service error well apparently my cell phone is continuing to retry to send the message so I have the phone trying my e-mail account trying while the person who the message is being sent to is receiving everyone........So I had to delete every message being sent on my e-mail account, I had to delete my E-mail account on my phone, and I had to shut it off for 30 minutes to see if this works it not I don't know what to do and my nightmare continues as well for the person who's phone keeps blowing up with the MMS message and I am wasting all of his text on his plan.......
    Thanks for the bad advice

  • Modifying existing mail rules now even worse with Mavericks 10.9.1

Mail nightmares continue with Mavericks update 10.9.1 installed. In fact, the nightmare gets bigger. The story goes like this.
Prior to Mavericks, I created a stack of rules to move Mail messages from the Inbox to designated Mailboxes, e.g. messages from Friends would be moved to a Friends mailbox. Everything worked fine.
Along comes Mavericks, and when I Edit a rule to add a new recipient, and Apply that rule change to Move existing messages to another mailbox, messages would be Copied instead of being Moved, even though Move was the only action selected.
Now with Mavericks 10.9.1, nothing happens when I Edit an existing rule and then Apply the rule change to an existing message. The messae just sits in the Inbox and does not appear at all in the Mailbox I want to move it to.
How do I modify mail rules to move a message to another mailbox, then apply that rule modification to existing messages?

    Hi BG 29,
Unfortunatelly you are not the only one with this problem. I am in the same situation with the exception that once I create the rule the new incoming messages will go to the designated mailbox. If you want to create a new rule, the message will just copy, not move to the mailbox. I contacted Apple support and a representative called me back and asked me to do all kind of stuff, but no luck. I was hopping that the update to 10.9.1 will solve this, but again no luck. I gave up in trying....I am waiting for the next update and hope for the best.

  • I have a few wedding projects(1-2 hours)I am trying to export at full hd quality, than burn in idvd. After rendering for 8hrs I receive error code that states "file is too big". Please help? compressing tips without losing quality?

I have a few wedding projects(1-2 hours)I am trying to export at full hd quality, than burn in idvd. After rendering for 8hrs I receive error code that states "file is too big". Please help? compressing tips without losing quality? or any other exporting alternatives?

    Hey Z,
Thank you for the tip on exporting by media browser (large) from imovie. But of course, if it's not one thing it's another. Now that I figured how to export a large file from imovie, I have an idvd issue. I followed the instructions for burning from idvd and changing the encoding to professional quality and the burn speed to x4, but I am receiving an error that states the following,
Your project exceeds the maximum content duration. To burn your DVD, change the encoder setting in the Project Info window.
    Project:
    - total project duration: 79:04 minutes
    - total project capacity: 4.327 GB (max. available: 4.172 GB)
    Menus:
    - number of menus in project: 1 menus
    - total menu duration: 0:39 minutes
    - total menu capacity: 37.370 MB
    Movies:
    - total movies duration: 78:25 minutes
    - total movies capacity: 4.291 GB
I have searched in the idvd forum for similar issues and I am stumped at this point. I have tried deleting the encoding assets and re launching idvd with the changed preferences, and still the same error. I know you mentioned something about free hard drive space available, and I have very little left. 4GB to be exact due to massive hours of non-edited footage. I am not sure if this is why, but I do not recall ever needing free space to burn memory onto a separate dvd. I would be more than happy if I am wrong, and it would be a quick fix. Otherwise, the technical nightmare continues. It's all a learning process and your expertise is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

  • DPM 2012 R2 (ID 104 Details: Internal error code: 0x809909FF)

We are running DPM 2012 R2 on Windows Server 2012 R2
We have a Protection Group:Servers (9 members) where 5 servers always give the same error message, when we try to run a synchronization job with consistency check. With other 4 server everything is fine. (All 9 servers: Windows Server 2012 R2)
All servers have "Windows Server Backup" feature installed
    Error message:
The replica of Microsoft Hyper-V \Online\S022 Reports on S022 Reports.SynCrust.********.eu is inconsistent with the protected data source. All protection activities for data source will fail until the replica is synchronized with consistency check. You can
recover data from existing recovery points, but new recovery points cannot be created until the replica is consistent.
For SharePoint farm, recovery points will continue getting created with the databases that are consistent. To backup inconsistent databases, run a consistency check on the farm. (ID 3106)
    Any help would be appreciated

Just wanted to add some further details to this thread...
    As suggested in
this article, Windows Server Backup has been installed on all 3 cluster nodes. I have also tried disabling/enabling the WinRE agent, as it suggests, with no effect.
The Virtual Machine I am trying to back up is running Windows Server 2008 R2 with the latest updates, and has integration services version 6.3.9600 installed.
    Additional searching led me to
this article, which states "DPM works seamlessly with Hyper-V VSS writer to ensure that consistent versions of virtual machines are captured and protected without affecting virtual machine access." It doesn't clarify if this is the method used
when backing up VMs stored in a CSV, however. Regardless, the Hyper-V VSS writer is not listed when issuing
    vssadmin list providers
I went through the steps outlined in
this article to install the writer, but even after following said steps, the writer still does not appear as registered on the Windows Server 2012 R2 cluster node via the above command.
    I should also mention that
this prereqs article mentions that the Hyper-V role should be installed on the DPM server. The hardware I'm using has an old AMD Sempron 3400+ CPU, so I'm unable to install this role on the DPM. The article states "DPM protects Hyper-V virtual
machines even without the role, but you cannot perform item-level recovery (ILR) unless the role is installed.", so it's doubtful that lack of the role would cause this issue; MindaugasKa, is the Hyper-V role installed on your DPM?
Despite the effort of upgrading my storage server to Windows Storage Server Standard 2012 R2, my cluster nodes to Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter, and my DPM to 2012 R2, the
    nightmare continues...

  • Publishing Podcast "Title"??

The nightmare continues. With no response from anyone at Apple as to why our college sports podcasts have not been updated on our iTunes site...
I have tried to create a new iTunes site.
When submitting the new Podcast page I get an error message:
"We require that feeds include a title" with no links or info as to how to do this.
This was never an issue before...
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi there
Sorry, but it's a bug in Captivate 4.
    Two things.
Please report it as a bug (even though Adobe is aware of it - The more that report it the more likely we will see it fixed)
You will need to manually edit and change your HTML to have the Title reflect what you want
Click here to visit the Wish Form/Bug Reporting Form

  • Mail frustrations

After my Powermac G5 1.8 DP logicboard fritzed last week I TDM backup to wife's Imac 2.4 Intel Core 2 Duo. OSX 10.5.7
Set up second user and resolved issues with mail by reading posts here and investigating Mail preference settings myself.
So, I am trying to do the same in the iBook G4 running 10.4.11
No luck with the second user.
Mail tells me it cannot connect to server with ports 110 in and 25 out.
put cache and envelope index on desktop and reboot allowed incoming. no send.
looked at preferences , quit mail, open mail, no luck.
tried cache out, etc. now will not gather incoming mail or send.
    very frustrating.
can use firefox to access accounts, but would like to resolve this hiccup.

Apple Mail has a *NEVER-ENDING* Password Problem.
For years I've been trying to solve this problem - and there is no known solution.
Apple Mail continuously fails to log into a POP server - then demands you to enter the password AGAIN & AGAIN & AGAIN & ...
When that fails - the ONLY solution is deleting the account - and creating a new account with the same settings. Then ... it ALWAYS happens again. Could be a week or 10 minutes - and the hassle continues forever.
At docs.info.apple.com ... Apple offers 4 "suggestions" at fixing this. The only one that works is the 4th; deleting the account. The more accounts you have, the more you have to keep repeating this - over and over.
I know from experience what the problem isn't - it's not the mail servers, it's Apple Mail's failure with the servers. Any hiccup (busy server) and Mail goes on tilt. I'm an affiliate marketer and have different email accounts with different domains - several accounts with my ISP and several other accounts. Apple Mail continuously fails with every single account - except ONE: machighway.com. "They use a Mac server."
With any POP account using UNIX, Windows or NT servers, Apple Mail's password nightmare continues like clockwork.
Look at the categories under Apple Discussion. See anything missing? You guessed it - not a whisper of Apple Mail. There is nothing for "Email password errors" at support.apple.com - and Apple Mail isn't even listed under Products for Advanced Search at their support page.
Apple has been aware of this problem for YEARS and nothing has been done so I've had it - and I'm done with this piece of junk and looking for a real email client.
