The Nightmare of cancelling AT&T bundled services continues...

Feb. 12th I called to cancel my bundled services: Uverse, Home Phone, and Internet. I opted to go with Charter because at the present time, AT&T could not come close to the internet speed offered by Charter in my local area. This process actually took me 4 days and a total of 5 calls and 2 chat sessions. I finally confirmed cancellation on that 5th call, and we selected Feb 18th as the cut-off day- I booked Charter to install on the 17th, so I wanted to overlap by a day just in case. Since we were in the middle of a billing period, I received my rebate check in the mail for my home phone very quickly- within about 10 days. However, I never received a rebate check for the Uverse and Internet services. All my AT&T equipment was returned, and I have UPS verification that it was received. After receiving my next months bill, I called AT&T again and was told by the rep that "Yes he could see on my account where I had called to cancel" but for some reason there was a problem, and the system would not allow him to cancel it. I was told he would forward the info to someone else, and he guaranteed the problem would be quickly solved. Of course when I did not hear anything back or receive any email, I called back a 7th time on March 7 and talked with a rep by the name of Omar. He guaranteed to resolve the cancellation and even gave me a confirmation # 1040400712. I continued to receive new bills that added additional monthly service even though I no longer had service and all equipment was returned. On my 8th call, placed on April 8, the rep told me that "the back office  has to handle this," and that "they will call me back within 2 days." Of course, they did not. On my 9th call, placed on May 18, my rep was Eddie from Charlotte, NC and he told me that he would be emailing his boss, a "Mr. Duffy," and that "Mr Duffy will call me back to confirm." Not surprisingly, I received no call back or email, even though Eddie confirmed my AT&T wireless call back number before ending the conversation. Still continuing to receive new monthly bills with additional charges, I made my 10th call on May 29, my rep was Ervay Williams  from Nashville. Once again he read from the same script as everyone else, telling me that he saw on the system where I had called to cancel, but for some reason his system was down and that his manager, Tracy Ricks would take care of it. He also promised to call me back later in the afternoon after lunch once it was resolved. Once again, no call back even though he confirmed my call back number before ending the call. I started recording these calls and will be posting them on youtube so the public can become aware of this ridiculous customer service. I have been using the "atomic browser" for more than a month now. It not only uses real tabs, but allows background loading of tabs, and the ability to turn off images so that you just get text and the pages load alot faster as well as saving bandwidth. I still had more than 20Mb left last month on a 250 plan.

    You have a dissatisfied long term and loyal customer whom has lost the BBT facility after YOU upgraded YOUR connection to HIS property, thus rendering HIS HH1(or 1.5) useless. The cure was to issue the HH3.
    Now correct me if I'm wrong but only NEW customers do not get offered BBT?
    I too have a HH3 AND can make use of BBT if I want to use it - swap it to AQ if needs be, he needs it more than me

    I am going through the same process! It is a nightmare doing anything with adobe. They make it as difficult as possible to get a refund and keep asking me if i want anothe program instead of a refund. They are making me jump through all kinds of hoops to get the refund and refuse to call me. They have ZERO customer service and the only reason they stay in business is because they have no real competitors. It's a shame, but I suggest you reprot them to the Better Business Bureau. I did.

    I have a 800 mb SSAS database that I refresh(Process current day partition) every 30 minutes. As soon as the processing starts all my users get error The operation was cancelled because of locking conflicts. I ran the deadlocks trace as described in http://blogs.msdn.com/b/sql_pfe_blog/archive/2009/08/27/deadlock-troubleshooting-in-sql-server-analysis-services-ssas.aspx
    but all I see is the processing start and all the users getting the error ("The operation was cancelled because of locking conflicts") 22 mil sec after the processing starts.
    I also ran "select * from $system.discover_locks" but I only see lock types 2,4 and 8. None of which seem to be exclusive

    According to your description, you get the dead lock error when processing partition. Right?
    In Analysis Services, this error occurs when lock manager detects a dead lock. Lock type 2,4 and 8 can also have two transactions waiting each other and cause deadlock. In this scenario, please check the Dead Lock Graph in SQL Profiler
    and find the related processes. Check what the processes work for to see if you need to do parallel processing or process other objects before partition processing.

  • TFS Integration Platform Error while Syncing - Caught and converted, The request was aborted: The request was canceled

    We are doing a 2-way version control sync between TFS 2013 servers. 
    TFS A - Project A is getting synched with TFS B - Project A.
    TFS A - Project A has got all the code and files, whereas TFS B - Project A is empty.
    Previously we have synced TFS 2013 projects across servers with out any error or issues. Today we came across an issue (check log at end of post) and hope Microsoft can
    provide some guidance on this. Following is the problem we are facing today:
    We have configured the TFS Integration platform tool for VC - 2 way sync and started the migration. Current
    status is that the discovery, analysis is complete and migration is half way when I started to get such errors
    (check log at end of post) .
    Note that the migration has not stopped...
    After doing some research and googling I understand that the reason for this error is that by default if
    an individual file transfer cannot complete 16MB in 5 minutes, the operation will fail. And the solution to this is to modify
    chunk size in the file of "TfsMigrationShell.exe.config". I have few questions regarding this...
    Question 1:Is
    above understanding and solution correct? I also notice that this error appears for every huge file (approx >30MB), is there any timeout setting at the target server? Is this something to be changed at the Tool level config or the Target IIS level
    config?
    Question 2: Suppose
    I do not change the config setting, then huge files are skipped due to this error. However, after the migration of the other files is finished, then, will the tool retry to sync the skipped (huge) files? Or has it skipped them forever?
    Question 3:
    Suppose I modify
    chunk size in the file of "TfsMigrationShell.exe.config", then, which of the following do I need to do (give me the best solution among the 3 below)
    a) Do I need
    to restart the migration (by deleting and recreating the project on the 2nd TFS Server and re-starting migration)? 
    b) Do
    I need to create a new configuration and restart migration?
    c) Do I need to restart the sync service?
    The concern here is that we have got 3 more jobs (TFS
    Integration tool configurations) running parallelly that
    is syncing Work Items & VC of other TFS projects and want to make sure that restarting the TFS Integration Job Service will not have any negative impact on the other jobs as well as no negative impact on the current migration job...

    I have been doing in depth research and testing of this and here are my findings:
    Replies to your points:
    1) It failed with UploadChunkSize value change. Tried 1MB, 500KB, even 100KB. Fails with same error! Is there any other setting we can change for the timeouts at the target TFS server also?
    2) The huge files are not skipped. The migration loops on the failed files and doesn't continue to process the next lot of files. So the migration is blocked on the huge files.

    Please see below the finding on when migration succeeds and when it fails:-
    Scenario 1:
    a) Where Migration fails:
    TFS A is in India and TFS B is in UK. Both TFS are on different domain. Migration tool is installed on same machine as TFS A. There is a firewall that allows the access from TFS A machine to TFS B machine. The migration tool fails to work in this scenario
    when it encounters a file size approx > 8MB. I tried setting the UploadChunkSize value to 100KB. Yet it failed!
    b) Where Migration works:
    However, if the files are approx less than 3MB then the migration works without any errors.
    Scenario 2 where TFS migration tool works:
    TFS A is in India and TFS B is also in India (located closeby). Both TFS are on different domain. Migration tool is installed on same machine as TFS A. There is no firewall in this case. No changes were made to UploadChunkSize value and files with size
    of 10's and 100's of MBs got synced without any issue.
    Questions
    Question 1: Can we conclude now that there is some issue with the firewall or network in case of scenario 1? As mentioned above Scenario 1 works if file size is less then approx 3MB.
    Question 2: Is there any timeout setting on the Target TFS server which can be set so that it waits for the file without timing out?

    How to cancel/reverse confirmation of service in SD module?
    By confirmation of service I mean document which we can see in SD documents flow (if scenario is without goods movement).
    User need to delete delivery but confirmation of service and sales invoice were posted. We reversed invoice but do not know how to cancel/reverse confirmation of service.
    Additionally u2013 is there any transaction where I can look at confirmation of service? It is NOT possible to look at this document in flow documents.

    It was NOTcreated in CS module. There is nothing in iw33.
    It is confirmation of service in SD module.
    Flow:
    - you create sales order
    - you create delivery with reference to sales order
    - you post goods issue (if quantity for picking is 0 u2013 no movement in stock) confirmation of service will be created by the system. Now I need to cancel this document.

    Try these steps below to clear the print queue. The steps are listed for Vista and Windows 7 and would be slightly different for XP. If you are using a Mac then the steps below would not work. Please advise what OS you are using.
    Option 1)
    1. Click on start orb
    2. Type in search window: "services.msc" (without the quotes)
    3. click ok
    4. Scroll down to Printer spooler service and click on it in the right side window.
    5. On the left side click stop the service and wait forthe process to stop
    (Do not close the window yet. You will have to restart it here later.)
    6. next delete the print job in the printer queue
    7. then restart the spooler service
    8. Resubmit your new print job.
    Option 2)
    If that doesn't clear it, the next step would be to stop the spooler
    service as stated above
    Go into windows explorer
    (Print job data is collected and stored in a spool file in the spooler
    folder.)
    It is located in:
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\PRINTERS
    Your print job will show 2 files there Example below:
    00002.SHD
    00002.SPL
    Delete the files located in there. There may be several of them
    depending apon how many print jobs you submitted. You will have to
    resubmit your print jobs all over again.
    Next go back to services window and restart the spooler service

  • Lync Server 2010 Control Panel - "navigation to the webpage was canceled"

    I just installed Lync Server 2010. The SQL 2008 is installed on a separate box and both servers are on Windows 2008 R2.
    However, when I try to start the "Lync Server 2010 Control Panel"  i get a blank page with the following message "Navigation to the webpage was canceled"
    The Installation had no errors and went well. But I did have one problem in the Topology Builder where is asked to create a File Share and asked for FQDN and File Share. I entered "Server1.domain.com" and File Share "Poolshare" but it did
    not like it and error with a red cross saying.. 
    "FQDN Server1.domain.com is already used in this topology"
    So in the end I just change it to "Server1" then published and ran the installation sucessfully and all services are started OK
    Any idea? could it be that the file share is not using FQDN?

    I have reveiwed this topic but have not been able to fing my answer. I am getting the same result when attempting to connect to the Lync Control Panel and the webpage saying "navigation was canceled..". Here are the details, any assistance is greatly
    appreciated:
    I have an existing OCS 2007 R2 server setup in the domain. My domain is company.CORP. It is a Standard Edition server for IM and Presence only. There is an Edge server as well and I have PIC enabled. My sipinternaltls SRV record to the current SE Front End.
    All works great. There is a SIP.company.com record in the domain too. I am standing up LYNC 2010 environment on HyperV and ran topology builder twice because I had to fix a name. (I see in Mac's comment that I need to run step2 again. Why is that?)
    My Share is on the HyperV server that is hosting the Front End server but they are completely different servernames. My topology published successfully and create some data in the File Share and the Backend DB was created and populated with tables. The certificates
    were successfully applied and all services started right up. The latest version of Silverlight was installed and the server was rebooted. Still the darn White Page with 'Navigation to the webpage was canceled'.
    I am able to go into IIS and launch the Control Panel successfully by browsing on the "cscp" directory for the Lync Server Internal Web Site. I can also connect to the Control Panel by using the
    httpS://admin.company.com/cscp but I have to put  'cscp ' in the path. I cannot browse AD using the Control Panel to find my TestLyncUser1 account but I can find the account, and successfully enable
    the account, using the Lync Management Shell. The account was enables and was able to successfully login to the Lync FE server (manually, since the SRV record point to OCS).
    This is where I am stuck. Why won't it launch from the Programs File Tool and why do I have to designate the CSCP in the URL? I am Not sure why I couldn't browse AD successfully in the Control Panel yet I could with Powershell. I will begin troubleshooting
    that issue next. Could it be because my sip.company.com record points to a different OCS Pool? Or my SRV internaltls record points to the OCS Pool? Microsoft supports standing up the two environments side-by-side and migrating but maybe I am missing something.
    Any ideas anyone?
    I want to add that I will be having a FE Pool and have named and published my second FE but I have not installed it. The Pool VIP is created in DNS and only pointing to FE1 right now.

  • No repair box? Will the payment be cancelled?

    Maybe a dumb question but I just want to be sure.
    I requested a  repair service for my iPod, and chose the option where they send you the box. I had to submit a payment beforehand due to no warranty and now it's been almost two weeks and still no box. The email I received said the service would be cancelled in 10 days if I didn't send the box back/didn't need to.
    My question is will the payment be cancelled as well?

  • Why I'm cancelling my U-verse service

    I'm in a new housing development and was stuck without any alternative for Internet access.  Now that Comcast is available, I'm going to give them a try.  If their service is anything like what I had in Washington, DC, then I will be very happy with it.  However, I wanted to state here, since AT&T doesn't give its subscribers, the people who keep them in business, a way to send them asynchronous online communications (i.e., e-mail), why I'm cancelling my U-verse service. First of all, here's the Wikipedia article about U-verse: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AT%26T_U-verse In DC, there was Verizon FIOS, a fiber optic service, which was truly blazing fast Internet access.  I mistakenly thought that U-verse would be comparable.  That was hilariously wrong.  Our average speed was anywhere between 6Mbps to 16Mbps.  And that was the fastest level of service that we "qualified for", whatever that means, and this is a newly built neighborhood outside the capital of the state (MS) that should reasonably be expected to have a modern level of service. So that is the first reason, that the speed was simply inferior, and artificially so is my belief. The second reason is the hardware.  We are on our third router provided by AT&T.  This is by far the best router that we've received!  But it is still old, outdated, and only supports 802.11 a/b.  They should be ashamed to offer such poor hardware to their unsuspecting customers. The third reason is the poor quality of the Internet connection.  DNS lookups fail multiple times per day.  Any kind of lengthy download has about a 20% chance of failing.  I take courses online and at least once a week have to alter my study schedule due to temporary outages. The fourth reason is their mobile app and self-service troubleshooting.  Their mobile app is supposed to give customers the ability to diagnose and fix service problems.  Only *once* out of all of our countless outages has the app ever "discovered" the existence of a problem.  We've had about three to five sustained outages that lasted more than 30-60 minutes, which I called AT&T to report.  Again, only *one* of those times has either the mobile app or even the customer service person I spoke with able to see that there was indeed a problem.  *Without any exceptions*, every problem we've had has been with the line quality coming into our home.  Despite the inferior, outdated hardware AT&T gave us, our problem has never been inside the house. I have not love for Comcast, not at all.  It along with AT&T, Time Warner and the rest collude, whether in the strictly legal sense or simply in spirit, to deprive the citizens of this country the best communication service technology and modern civilization can provide, a service which will eventually be recognized as a public utility (thank god).  However, if I actually have a "choice" between AT&T and Comcast, I'm going to go with Comcast because the service is theoretically superior in every way I've thought to investigate (hardware, bandwidth, latency). There you have it!  If I'm still a U-verse customer next month, then my plan has gone horribly wrong in some way, in which case I'll probably look at satellite.  ;-) Good luck,Ali

    As you might be able to tell, I am totally fed up with BT, the Broadband is stupidly slow only 1meg, customer service is poor, and bt vision doesnt even work without constant errors (V04).
    Now BT have the cheek to increase our monthly costs by 70 pence a month and raise the call charges!
    I am now stuck in a contract (12 months for the Option 3 BB & Evening & Weekend phone) and 6 months for BT Vision Gold.
    I've spent many hours on the phone being bounced from pillar to post by the asians and the uk based ''reps'' are not much better, BT seem to insist on sending an engineer with no flexibility on times as we all work when the slots are!
    Surely there must be a clause in the contract that allows me to cancel the services without paying £376!!! to cancel the poor service.
    Not sure whether term 50 and term 52 of the residential terms and conditions would allow us to get rid of BT?

    if they have changed the terms of your contract ie: increased prices etc, then this would give you the right to cancel trhat part of your contract that is affected.
    You must inform them within (I believe) 10 days from being imformed of the change in terms and conditions.

    Whenever an exception is raised how to log the exception using Log action in oracle service bus.After logging where I have to find the logged message.

    It would be in the log file for the managed server which ran the request. If you are logging the message at a lower level than your app server, however, you won't see it. You should be logging the exception at Error level.

    I have found a fix after doing additional research through this forum. Tech Note #328730 addresses this problem and it works for Photoshop Album 3.2 even though it was written for release 1.0.

    When using this fix the Tech Note indicates:
    "Imported image data and tags are lost when you re-create the My Catalog.psa file, so you need to reimport images and reapply any tags"
