BT Yahoo homepage 'Today' news module links not wo...

Hi,
All the links from the 'Today' news module on my BT Yahoo homepage give a '404 page not found error'. All worked fine until a couple of months ago. There are no problems with any other links either from other areas of the BT Yahoo homepage or anywhere else. Others have posted on Yahoo forums (Yahoo answers, Yahoo community) with a similar issue but I haven't found a solution.
The problem occurs using my PC (IE9/Vista). Using my laptop (IE9/Win7) on the same router (BT Homehub) all the links work fine. This would seem to indicate an issue with the PC setup. However looking in a bit more detail at the link URLs (using right click then 'properties') they all show as HTML documents with addresses of the type: http://home.bt.yahoo.com/new-york-fashion-week--zac-posen-fight-leads-to--1-million-lawsuit.html I'm not sure if this is actually a dead link or not.
On the laptop (Win7) the URLs look different - so the one above (under right click, 'properties') is listed as a system folder with the address: http://home.bt.yahoo.com/ _ylt=AhHAdLGuZCxQzRisacTmZxPGhXmV (won't copy all this but you get the idea). In the address bar this comes up as http://uk.lifestyle.yahoo.com/new-york-fashion-weekS--zac-posen-fight-leads-to--1-million-lawsuit.ht...
I don't know if Win7 and Vista handle the URLs differently but it seems the news article is present at the uk.lifestyle.yahoo.com/ address but not at the home.bt.yahoo.com/ address. I don't have another Vista machine to compare with so would be interested to know what the 'Today' links URLs look like on someone else's Vista machine.
Any help finding a solution would be much appreciated!

I too have difficulty viewing some videos via links on the BT Home Page. I use IE8.
The video starts to load and then freezes. In the status bar of IE8 I get a flashing web addres something like this:
waiting for http://static.ak.fbcnd.net/connect/xd_proxy_php
I did a search and the nearest answer I came up with was that the page is left open to continually update/stream therefore giving the latest version. All well and good if the page loads properly in the first place!
I am not asked to update Flash Player.
The fbcnd part of the address would also indicate that the trouble occurs when the link is somehow associated with Face Book.
This particular link about an unsuccessful long jump is an example:

According to your description, my understanding is that the add new document link was not working on machine where Office web apps set up with this SharePoint server after you upgraded SharePoint team sites
from 2010 to 2013.
For your issue, it can be caused by integrating Office Web Apps with upgraded SharePoint Site.
Firstly please make sure claims-based authentication is used by the SharePoint web application that is used to create the new document. Only web applications that use claims-based authentication can open
files in Office Web Apps. To determine the authentication provider for a web application, follow these steps:
1.In SharePoint 2013 Central Administration, click Manage web applications.
2.Select the web application that you want to check, and click Authentication Providers on the ribbon.
The authentication provider must be displayed as Claims Based Authentication for Office Web Apps to work correctly with the web application. To resolve this issue, you can delete the web application and recreate
it using claims-based authentication, or you can change the authentication method of the web application.
Secondly, make sure the WOPI zones match on the SharePoint 2013 and the Office Web Apps Server farm.
To do this, run the following command on the SharePoint Server:
Get-SPWopiZone
The result will be one of the following:.
internal-https
internal-http
external-https
external-http
Next, run the following command on the SharePoint Server.
Get-SPWOPIBinding
In the output, look for WopiZone: zone. If the results from Get-SPWopiZone don’t match the zone that is returned by Get-SPWOPIBinding, run the Set-SPWOPIZone -Zone cmdlet on the SharePoint Server to change
the WOPI zone to match the result from Get-SPWOPIBinding.
If not work, you can try to disconnect SharePoint 2013 from Office Web Apps Server and re-configure Office Web Apps for SharePoint 2013.

Yahoo Homepage is in EST and not PST like my seetings are in. It changes to the next day when it is not midnight yet. Please fix. Yahoo say it is a browser issue!

On the Yahoo Homepage the day, date, and time are in EST and I am in PST. The day, month, time, and date, changes to the next day at 9pm and it is not midnight yet.
Example: Monday, February 13, 2012, then at 9pm tonight, it will change to Tuesday, February 14, 2012, before it hits midnight on Tuesday, February 14, 2012. Please fix.
I have been in contact with AT&T and Yahoo for the past month trying to get this fixed so it doesn't affect my e-mail time. Now both are saying it is a browser issue, and that is you guys. I can't believe I am going through all this just to get something fixed....it is amazing! Our e-mail is:[email protected]

Websites with domains like ".link" or ".website" and a lot more do not work, any idea on when these new urls might be added?

News videos will not play

on my yahoo homepage my news videos will no longer play. they now tell me the video is no longer available

"Clear the Cache": Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now" 
"Remove the Cookies" from sites that cause problems: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies" 
 
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

Clicking on one link on a module in my.yahoo page produces 5 back links

After clicking on a link in the "Top Stories" or "YahooNews: Political News" modules. FF generates 5 back links (that I can verify by looking at the drop-down history on the back button). Sent request to Yahoo support who told me it is a browser problem.

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:
* right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?
In case one of your extensions is involved, could you test the page in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].

I Hate Bing and when I click on a Firefox NEW Tab and search I keep getting Bing results, I used to get Google which I would like back, my homepage when opening Firefox is not Bing but all tab searches retrieve Bing results.

Powershell New-object Command not reconized am i missing a module?

I want to configure high trusted app for app dev in SharePoint, end to do so i need first to insert some commands in the powershell editor like :

Try this:
reboot your computer
start the powershell console
type a new-object command without parameter
this is what happens when I do that:

Home page - whenever I open, it does not "refresh." When I go to yahoo mail, my "news" tab continues to show Jul 14th headlines, etc.

If you use extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) like Adblock Plus or NoScript or Flash Block that can block content then make sure that such extensions aren't blocking content.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

Open link in new window will not work

I am running Firefox 3.6.12 on Windows XP and have never had a problem until just recently. If I right click and select "open link in new window", a new window will open, but it is blank. This started about a week ago while playing Pogo...the game rooms will not load because they open in a new window. Now I am noticing that it is with everything, not just Pogo.
I have tried checking and unchecking the "block pop-ups" option and the new windows will not load either way.
Any help would be appreciated!!!

New tabs are not updating the names of the sites they have loaded. When I open a new tab and load a site, the tab simply stays named "New Tab". When I open a link in a new window, it shows "Connecting..." even while its fully loaded.

Standard or Pro would be licensed through your serial number, the download link and downloaded file would be the same for both of them.
Pro or Standard would be determined after you put in your serial number.

I guess it is too much to ask your users to middle-click the Homepage button to get their Homepage in a new tab.
I don't think Mozilla is even interested in "Enterprise" any longer. The new Fast Release schedule for Firefox doesn't meet the needs of the corporate community for long term support, so I guess they aren't valued any longer. Mike Kaply has written about this situation repeatedly this year.

It opens up a blank page. The only way to make the link work is to click on the navigation bar in the new tab and press enter to reload the link.

Do you have that problem when running in the Firefox SafeMode? ''A troubleshooting mode.''
