  • Budget in SAP 2007B (Urgent)

    Hi All,
How to create Revised budget in SAP 2007B. Is Budget scenario is Revised budget? If yes, how do we set revised budget as default...
    This is bit urgent
    Thnz in advance
    Shashi

    Hi Shashi
In SAP Business One the Main Budget Scenario is used for budget restrictions, etc. It is the first and only one you HAVE to create. Other scenarios are then for "what if" usage, etc. You can create as many scenarios as you want and select the various scenarios in your budget report.
From your question I am assuming that the Main Budget (for example) has been populated and you want to revise this budget. The choice would be to keep the Main budget intact and add another scenario called Revised. But remember that if budget checking is turned on, it will only check against Main Budget. For this reason, any changes should be made direct to the Main Budget if they are to impact budget checking.
Hope this all makes sense, if not let me know
    Kind regards

  • R12 FSG Report - Budget Setups

Our requirement is to create a monthly and a quarterly fsg report for each cost center which will give the actual, budget, variance & variance as columns and all the budgeted accounts as rows.
Right now in our current budget setup,
We have only one yearly budget, and only one organization which covers all the budgeted accounts (all the code combinations)
Is it possible to create the required fsg report with this kind of budget setup so I can get the report for each cost center? Or we need to do some changes to the setups as well? please advise?
Also in the fsg report, is it possible to tie up the range of these accounts (WAGES,401(K),INSURANCE) together as SALARIES AND WAGES account so that they can collapsed & expanded like in EXCEL. For e.g:
Cost Center XYZ - June. 2010
         ACTUAL     BUDGET     VARIANCE     VARIANCE %
    SALARIES AND WAGES     50,000      35,000.00      (15,000.00)     -4.7%
    WAGES     20,000      15,000.00      (5,000.00)     -7.7%
    401(K)      15,000      10,000.00      (5,000.00)      9.8%
    INSURANC 15,000      10,000.00      (5,000.00)     18.2%

    Any advise?

  • Budget Setup

Hi i want to create a budget for each of my items in each of their item groups, must i create user defined fields on the item master data for each one?
What/How is the Budget Setup used for that you find under Financials-->Budget Setup-->Budget Scenarios / Budget / and Budget Distribution methods??
Il tick the "relevant to Budget tickbox under G/L Acc details for each account that il use a budget for and what else needs to be done? All steps needed, thank
    Help Appreciated Thanks

    Hello Muhammed Rashid
Parent Acc. u2013 you can determine the budget amount of a certain G/L
account according to a certain percentage calculated from an existing
budget amount of another G/L account. Click the Tab key to display a
list of G/L accounts with budget amounts, select the required G/L
account and set a required percentage in the field '%' to the right. See
the above example: for G/L account 612100000-01-001-01, a budget of
5 millions was entered. 10% of this G/L account's budget is allocated to
    G/L account 612400000-01-001-01.
Note! The option of linking budget amounts to parent accounts is used for
calculations only. Due to this reason, the budget amount entered in the field Parent
Acc. and divided among its child G/L accounts, is not actually deducted from the
budget of the parent account. In the example above, G/L account 612100000-01-
001-01 has a budget of 5 millions, and its child G/L account 612400000-01-001-01
has a budget of 500,000. However, the budget amounts are managed separately
    for each G/L account.

  • Missing Functionality -where do I set a budget for a Project?

Budgeting for Projects is non - existent
Budget for Profit and Loss for a particular project , How is it done ?
Does not work , No facility to put in Budget for a project ?
The report I am trying to run is:
REPORTS>FINANCIAL>BUDGET REPORTS>Profit and Loss Statement Budget Report. Then go to Expanded and choose a PROJECT, say MailOrder.
The result is that it will show the MailOrder project for the ACTUAL but it will show the whole company Turnover against the BUDGET column.
This is because there is no place to set a budget for MailOrder Project in the first place. So the question is where do I set a budget for a Project?
1 Budget setup screen - this has no facility to setup a budget for a PROJECT
2.Budget Profit and Loss - this has the facility to run a PROJECT budget but the figures for the Budget cannot be right because they were not setup in the first place.
PS MailOrder project is just an example.
Version: SAP BUSINESS ONE 2007 A Patch Level 41

Business needs: Customer cannot set the budget for a project and this effects their accounting.

Proposed solution: Create a Project and then be able to set a Budget for it
Edited by: Darpal Thiarha on May 14, 2008 10:34 AM

    Hi Darpal/Kerstin
Please ignore my previous replies because I have now worked out why this idea will not work:
Kerstins' idea is based on setting up new Nominal Codes for every Project and for Every Nominal Code in the Profit and Loss structure. Apart from the fact that this will create a messy Nominal Structure with hundreds of Nominal Codes, the main issue here is the way the Cost Of Goods Sold is structured. The logic of our Nominal Structure for Sales and Cost of Goods is based on Item/Item Groups and the Nature of these Items. In our case we sell Skin Care products under 3 Brands. Say Brand A, B and C
So Brand A is summarised into one item Group and the ITEM GROUP is coded to Sales Nominal 20000 and the Cost of this group is coded to Nominal 30000. In Kertins suggestion, I would need to raise a Nominal Code 20001 for say Project Mail Order and 30001 for the Cost of Goods for Mail Order but this the Mail Order project is selling ALL our brands (A,B,C) - so you can see the problem here. You cannot use Nominal Codes for two different purposes and make it work. So the problem here is that my BRAND A summary will contain a Nominal with a Project Mail Order, that has SALES of Brand A,B,C. The Net effect will be that we will not be able to summarise anything in SALES and Cost of SALES in a logical way (Neither by Brand or By Project) and the Nominal Structure will be a mess.
My conclusion is that SAP b1 Sales and Cost of Goods section demands certain logic when building the Nominal Codes, and this is based on the NATURE OF THE STOCK ITEM and trying to superimpose the PROJECT issue into this, will never work. In my view, the PROJECT issue needs to be sorted without involving New Nominal codes and the starting point would be in sorting out the SALES and COST of SALES and the project Budget for this.
Please let me know if you need further illustration of the problem.

  • Manual Budget does not work

    Hi, Experts,
I'd like to input Budget data for Y2009. I go to 'Financials' -> 'Budget Setup' -> 'Budget'.
Then, I select the Scenario 'Main Budget - 01/01/2009'. -> I select 'Manual' as the method. -> the word 'Manual' is shown in red -> when I click the 'Orange Arrow', nothing pop up
Is there some set up work I should do I with the 'Manual' method? Thanks!
    Lorrie

    HI Lorie,
    Here's what you can do:
    1. Select MANUAL from the Method Column
    2. Specify a BUDGET AMOUNT in the Debit or Credit Column
    3. Double click the ROW NUMBER in order to show the popup you are looking for.

  • Reg : Project wise Budget.

    Dear All,
Is it possible to give Proejct wise Budget estimation using Budget setup.
    Waiting for your valuable response
    thanks & regards
    Venkatesh N

    Hello Rajesh
I had the same requirement from business than you: to develop a solution which allows business to limit document addition basing in project budget limits. After much thinking and thanks to different tips from people on this forum (Nagarajan, Gordon Du, Kennedy T and Johan Hakkesteegt are some of the ones who most have help me on this) I have been able to develop a solution which meets business requirements.
First thing that you have to consider is which document types you want to be blocked from adding when a project budget is going to be exceeded. At our case we have decided to check Draft purchase orders and Purchase invoices addition.
Next step would be to determine the calculation to estimate the budget for a concrete project. This is the calculation that system has to do each time a Draft PO or an invoice is going to be added on system:
Project Budget > Open Draft POs + Open POs + Open PO GR + Purchase Invoices - Open Goods returns
Basing on it our solution consist on:
6 UDF in OPRJ table: one for indicating the budget of each project, the other five for each variable on the budget limit calculation (Open Draft POs, Open POs...)
5 querys to use it as formatted searches in those UDF OPRJ fields, so each one of this fields displays the correct cumulative value. For example Open POs UDF has a query as FMS which calculates the cumulative amount for each project on open purchase orders and so on.
5 TN querys intended to update automatically the OPRJ UDF values when a document is added.
2 TN querys intended to check if the addition of certain documents is going to cause a project overrun. One query is for checkin Draft PO docs addition and the other to check Purchase invoices addition
A UDT to include every project whose budget has to be checked. (Business doesn't need to limit all projects).
I can share the queries in case you think that this solution could be useful for your needs.
    Thanks and regards

  • Budget Control for Balance Sheet Accounts

    Hi All,
How can we manage budgets for Balance sheet Accounts such as Fixed Assets, IT Infrastructure, Capital Work in progress etc.,
    Thanks,
    Srikanth

    Hi Mr Vemuri,
The acount will appear in the budget setup if you go to:
Financials -> Chart of Accounts -> Select the account -> 'Account Details' -> check the box 'Relevant to Budget'.
By default only Profit and Loss accounts are included in the budget setup.
    I tested this in:
    2005B
    2005A SP01
    2007A
    I hope this helps.

  • SAP Business One Budget Scenarios 2007A

    Hello,
I have B1 2007A SP00 PL37 installed.  I am trying to add a Budget Scenario.  I click on Financials --> Budget Setup --> Budget Scenarios.  A screen pops up titled "Budget Scenarios -- Setup".  It has a beginning fiscal year in the drop-down list, and the table below is empty.  No matter what I do, it will not let me enter anything into that table.  If I try to Copy Scenario, a new window pops up, showing "Original Data" and "Destination Data".  The Destination Scenario drop-down offers a "Define New" option.  When I click "Define New", it takes me back to the "Budget Scenarios -- Setup" window.  So that is where I am stuck.
Can anyone assist me in this circular adventure?  Once we get past this situation, I have another Profit and Loss Budget Report question.
    Thanks.

Thank you, Marcia.  That was perfect.  Should I ask my 2nd question here?  Well, here goes.  I upgraded my system from 2004A to 2007A in May.  I am now completing the financial close for May, but we are now in July (new fiscal year).  When I run the Profit and Loss Budget Report, I do not see any Budget Scenarios in the pull-down list, therefore I do not have any budget numbers in the report.  Any idea on why there would be no scenarios shown in the pull-down?  Was there a problem converting the scenarios during the upgrade to 2007A?
    Thanks,
    Ted
