BUG? 10.1.3 EA: Ant running in a separate process error.

I'm trying to run Ant in a separate process and use different J2SE with it (JDK 1.4.1_03) and getting the error below. Seems to work ok with different JVM versions (tried 1.5 and 1.4.2). But we need to use JDK 1.4.1_03 to compile the project. Fails both for default Ant version and if I try to specify a different one. Is there any other way to make ANT to use specific JDK?
Thanks,
Noel.

I believe this is Sun bug 4712609. This was a bug in JDK 1.4.1, which was fixed in JDK 1.4.2 and later.
The only workaround I can think of is to run JDeveloper itself in JDK 1.4.1_03. If you then run Ant in the same process as JDeveloper, it will be running in JDK 1.4.1_03.

  • How to run servlet in separate process?

    Hi
It has been a while since you asked your question- I hope you still need the solution. Java typically does not support this because it is platform specific. I don't know what operating system you are working on. I assume Windows. There are numerous ways to do this in Windows. The easiest is to copy the program into the startup folder. The directory is: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup. Another way, less visible to the user, is to make an entry in the registry. If you place the location of the program as data in a key in HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current\Version\Run of the registry, it will start with the system. This is hard to do in Java (for obvious reasons) however it is not impossible. You can use JNI which is really difficult to learn and hard to implement or you can use
Process p=Runtime.getRunTime().exec({"reg.exe","add HKLM..."});This will execute the Windows utility reg.exe with the arguments provided by the second in the array of Strings. Documentation on reg.exe can be found through the command prompt. There are other ways such as modifying Autoexec.bat however they are less reliable
    Hope I helped

The problem might be that one of the jar files containing the java.rmi.* files musst be missing or perhapz, the path to these jars in the build.properties must be given wrong. CHk them there might be spelling mistake in build.properties in comman directory as jaxp.holme=${jwsdp.home}/jaxp-1.2.2 where holme must be home,
    or some other mistake.
..........or if u have been un/installing too much of javastuffs try cleaning the whole Java from yr system and reinstall them that actually helped me once..................

  • 9.0.3 "Bug" report regarding paths, compiling, and running

I don't know if this is a bug or some kind of strange feature but it caused me to lose about an hour and a half of work before I figured out what was going on.
    BACKGROUND:
    I have a project UVDebug.jpr. It's full pathname is :
    C:\My Documents\OracleJDev\Visia\UVDebug\UVDebug.jpr
Now this project has one file in it: UVDebug.java, however, this java source code file doesn't live in a subfolder of the folder containing the project. Shouldn't be a problem. It's path is
    C:\My Documents\OracleJDev\Visia\VisiaProject\src\debug\visia\UVDebug.java
As far as I know now, the files you add to a project can live anywhere.
The output path (where the class files get created/saved) IS a subfolder of the project folder. It's path is
    C:\My Documents\OracleJDev\Visia\UVDebug\classes
    THIS WORKS:
If I FIRST click the rebuild project button, the class gets created in the correct folder:
    C:\My Documents\OracleJDev\Visia\UVDebug\classes\debug\visia\UVDebug.class
If I then click the red bug button to run the project in debug mode, it works fine.
THIS DOES NOT WORK, BUT IT SHOULD:
If I DO NOT first click the rebuild project button, but instead, just go directly to clicking the red bug button to run it, then it is supposed to compile the source into a class and then run the class. However, the class does not get created and when it goes to run, it throws a class not found exception.
If the source code UVDebug.java DOES live in a sub folder of the folder containing the project, then clicking the red bug button WILL compile it and run it. I.e. the source code lives in
    C:\My Documents\OracleJDev\Visia\UVDebug instead of
    C:\My Documents\OracleJDev\Visia\VisiaProject\src\debug\visia
However if the source code does not live in a subfolder of the folder containing the project, you must first compile the project as a separate step before you click the red bug button to run it.
I don't know why the situation that didn't work didn't work -- it should have worked as far as I understand. Am I wrong here? Do all source code files and output class files have to be in subfolders of the project if you want to click only red bug instead of rebuild all and red bug?

I really don't know exactly what happened as what you have described should all work.
    Try those following steps:
    - Completely clean out your output path
including any .cdi files you might have
at the root of your output path
    - Go back in jdev and make sure the runner
option is to make the application before
    running
    - Run (and/or) debug and it should work, does it?

    Eureka!
    <br />
<br />I am still struggling with my linux installation, but my winxp turnkey looks ok on the DataExtractionAndUpdateDB sample finally. One obstacle I had to overcome was already divulged in another post; it just didn't make it here: the first xml processing instruction (<?xml version="1.0" ..="" etc=""?>
followed by comments on what test-ds.xml does needed to be removed. Following this, the xml file was well formed and could be parsed by the app.
    <br />
<br />This doesn't fix this thread's specific issue, but I am confident that I can continue eval using winxp for the time being. Hope this helps someone.

  • Problems when invoking "ant run" for sample how-to-ejb30-mdb

    Hi,
I'm new to J2EE and Java. I get the following error when invoking "<ant run" from the command-line as indicated in MDB 3.0 tutorial "http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/java/oc4j/10131/how_to/how-to-ejb30-mdb/doc/how-to-ejb30-mdb.html". Please find solution to solve the problem...

you form is running in the browser with the help of Jinitiator which is nothing but A JavaInitiator.
as your machine files located in the System32 folder of your windows directory as .DLL. are not able to communicate with the Jinitiator DLL Files being used
    for the JRE.
The Form is sending the request to the internet explorer to run the object of applet ttype which is nothing but the Oracle Java Applet named as OC4J(Oracle Container for Java)
if your form is running or trying to run and hangged due to some problems and your machine got abnormal shutdown then at that time the DLL fiels communicating each other may got corrupt
due to any abmormal shutdown of your machine...
the problem is there with the Java Side...
There is no solution other then reloading the JRE and Jinitiator as per the error being thrown by your machine

Because of a problem, I uninstalled Firefox once, reinstalled it and it ran. I had a problem so I uninstalled/reinstalled it again. Now it will not run. I get an error message saying that firefox is running and you can only run one at a time. I have uninstalled multiple times and can't figure out what is running. The is only one Firefox installed and it is not open. What does this mean and how do I fix it?

If you use ZoneAlarm Extreme Security then try to disable Virtualization.

    Generally YES.
It's possible to hold separate iTunes library's on a single machine.
Generate two new folders inside the Music folder of the Mini and name them differently; e.g. man and woman.
Copy your whole library into "man" and your wifes into "woman"
Go to sharing in the system settings of the Mini and share the Music folder in your network.
After copying the whole library's to the Mini you may point iTunes to the new location at startup by holding the option key (alt) at the keyboard.
iTunes will then ask you where the library is located.
Point it to the matching library on the Mini.
    That's all.
    Lupunus
PS ... If you both use only the Mini you have to setup a user account for each and just copy the whole library to the Music folder in particular.

  • How can I debug a sequence that has a subsequence is running in a separate thread?

    Hi,
How can I debug a sequence that has a subsequence is running in a separate thread?
I have to have a continues check for a  digital in signal to be able to terminate the sequence if a physical button is pushed.
This is running in a separate thread, but this way I cannot debug the main sequence.
Is there any workaround for this?
    Thanks,

Try removing this directory: /home/oracle/.jdeveloper/system11.1.1.0.31.52.05/ and restarting JDeveloper.
