Bug: Cubic Spline Fit error when some (x,y) weight(s)=0

Hi,
I wanted to log this bug on the forum. I have already logged this with NI UK Support: CAR# 287065
I was trying to use Cubic Spline Fit.vi and control its
behaviour using the "Weights" array input.
The VI doesn't like Weight=0 in some cases.
The error reported "Analysis: The input must be non-zero."
The VI will work if the number is a very small but
non-zero number.
Steps To Reproduce:
I have attached a VI to demonstrate the issue.
Run the program with Select=TRUE and new element = 1 The
cubic fit will run OK without any error.
Change new element = 0
The cubic fit will run but this time the error is -20141
Change new element = 0.0001 The cubic fit will run OK without any error.
Change Select = FALSE
This will then use the Example Weights array. This is a
real example of input I am supplying to this VI.
The cubic fit will run but this time the error is -20141
Set Offset = 1E6 i.e a small number close to zero.
The cubic fit will run OK without any error.

Hi
I have a curve that I need to smoothen, and hence i decided to use the cubic fit, but I need all the original points of interest. When I tried the Cubic Spline Fit function in LV, I did get a smooth curve but it did not contain the initial points of interest.
I have read in literature that with Cubic splines a smooth curve can be fit on the original points, would like to know how this problem could be overcome.
The original curve adn the fitted curve are attached below

What you should be doing is interpolation instead of fitting. Two ways to do this.
1. Use the Spline Interpolation VI
2. Set the smoothness to 1 for all points in Cubic Spline Fit

Bug report: ube_ipa: internal error when compiling with -xO5

When compiling imlib2-1.1.2, one source file causes compilation to fail with the following error message:
ube_ipa: internal error

The command which fails is (probably wrapped):

Changing -xO5 to -xO4 works around the problem. The source file in question is imlib2-1.1.2/loaders/loader_tiff.c
Patch 112756-10 has been applied, and doesn't correct the problem. GCC doesn't have any problem compiling the file.
A quick note to any Sun employees reading this: it took me 45 minutes to find somewhere to submit this bug report. Searching sun.com for "submit bug report" turned up many forum postings where people asked "Where do I submit bug reports?", a bug report form for Sun One Java Studio, and not much else. It might be in your interest to make submitting bugs easier.

Internal errors, such as the one you encountered, are generally considered compiler bugs. They indicate that the compiler reached an unexpected state and therefore bailed out. I opened bug 20703141: internal error: pic_relocs(): hh reltype? to investigate. I see the same error message emitted by the current Studio development release; I will update this thread if I find a work-around.

Possible Bug (or Perhaps User Error) When Importing Audio

During a recent session I wanted to import some vocal samples I purchased. The vocal samples are 24bit WAV and when started to preview them via Logic's browser, things got strange.
When previewing the audio, the vocal samples automatically "fade out" after about 5 seconds, when the actual samples are much greater in length, some up to 15 seconds long. I place the file into the arrange window and after selecting "no" to the option of importing the tempo information, the placed region reflects the previewed audio in that it is much shorter than what is should be length wise. I even have the project tempo identical to the sample tempo. Here's where it gets stranger.
These same samples play in their entirety when using iTunes. As a test, I converted a couple of the samples to AIFF and WAV via iTunes, and then imported these new files into Logic. The files play in their entirety now, however, because they were converted in iTunes they have been resampled to 16bit. As a purist, I like to keep my audio in its original state until mixdown/bouncing from Logic.
Has anyone had a similar issue with their audio files? I'm well versed when it comes to using Logic and this is something I've never encountered before and have exhausted all attempts to solve this problem on my own.

Thanks for all the input. The biggest problem I'm having with all this - is the PE-11 on my laptop lets me drag iTunes songs directly to the video project. The PE-11 on my desktop has the error. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, on the desktop - but the problem still exists. Within iTunes, you can right-click on a song and make an mp3 copy (which is then added to your "recently added" tab in iTunes). I have converted the songs I want to MP3 so I can finish the project. I didn't have to make a .wav file - and the copyright protection is a non-issue, as my brother is the artist who's songs I'm trying to use on my latest project.
iTunes has relaxed their policy on inclusion of iTunes music in videos (which is why it works on my laptop). Yes - you still need the artists release agreement for copyright - but according to what I've received from Apple today - iTunes isn't stopping me from putting the songs in - it's got to be an Adobe thing. Strange thing here is both machines (laptop and desktop) are Dells. Desktop is an Alienware Auroa R4; laptop is a Dell Latitude E6430 -- both running Win-7.
Once I finish the project - I'll see if I have the same issue with Premiere Pro CS6 - which we have at work. Years ago - the only way to use a songs from my iTunes library was to burn the desired songs to a playlist on CD, then re-import into iTunes, with mp3 as the default importer - then move the files into the project. At least now - within iTunes, you can convert a song directly to mp3 without creating a separate disk - but I'm bothered as to why the mp4 works fine in PE-11 on one machine - but not the other. Obviously, I can't solve it today (smile) so I'm moving on in order to finish the video project.
Again - thanks for all your help. I'll advise (next week) how my test of iTunes on Premiere Pro CS6 works (natively or mp3 conversion required).

Bug : Invalid file extension error when opening exported excel

Hi All,
In one of my jsff page, i have implemented 'exportToExcel' functionality through a exportcollectionactionlistener on a table to export its data to excel. When i try opening the generated excel, i get the following warning in excel 2007 :
"The file you are trying to open, 'Export.xls,' is in a different format than specified by the file extension. Verify that the file is not corrupted and is from a trusted source before opening the file. Do you want to open the file now?" - When I clicked YES to the message, the exported excel opened and data is present.
How can i get rid of this warning message, because it is annoying for any user to click YES every time the excel is opened ? I am using jdev version 11.1.1.6.0 This is my code :

Check if User Profile Synchronization service is running and Full Synchronization is done, check all the users that are getting
error available and sync properly. If user is not available in the User Profile List run Full Synchronization manually or add manually new User Profile to User Profile List.

Library error when adding contact or when logging in

The messenger server has a replica of the partition holding the users.
It's an OES 2 sp2 server, and the GW Messenger is 2.04.
Sometimes we see an error that says 'Library error' when adding a contact, or it doesn't show all users that exists with the search parameter given.
We also sporadically see a 'Library error' when some users log in to it.
Looking in the log I see an error that says 0xAE16 when users log in fails.
I can find the 0xAE11 error in the TID's but not the 0xAE16, I did find an article on the forums, mentioning this problem http://forums.novell.com/novell-prod...or-server.html, they mention memory problems, so it seems to me there is a bug that needs fixing.

I've disabled the '/diruseralias-"Internet EMail Address"' setting that was set up in the strtup.ma and strtup.aa scripts.
I've also, for now at least, chosen another replica.
I haven't seen the errors yet, so here's hoping...

(no mods to .ORF file, so that can't be the reason)

I get the below error when I try to download a response as a .pdf:

Please go to the "Design Tab" and adjust the contents, the font-size, or divide the flagged items into multiple elements.
Any ideas?

Go to the Design Tab and make sure you switch to the Page View (look the bottom right corner of the screen)
Once you see the Page View (used to see what the PDF will look like for your response) scroll down and you might see which object is being trucated (it will be covered by a red rectangle). This often happen if you have a element that is too big to fit on one page (like a single or multi choice field).
You will need to adjust your element so that nothing is trucated.

Apparently the profile .default is missing. Therefore the bug 278860 is activated and I can't start Firefox. Is there a solution?

I did some googling and found alot of topics from you on this issue, to me it simply seems like on of the connectors is broken or loose.

Error when editing some Items in SharePoint Custom List

Hello I have a custom list with multiple workflows and a customized infopath form. I am getting an unexpected error on some of the list items when I try to edit them. I can view them just fine but the error is occuring on edit for some items.
I am also able to edit the same item that I am getting the problem with from the datasheet view but just not with infopath form.
I use the USL to view the correlation error and it just said leaving monitored scoped.
I also tried saving the list as a template and creating a new list from the template and then creating a new item in that list and got the same error. Please help.

APEX bug:9879227 (ORA-01403: no data found error when using validations)

Hi,
We are getting the
ORA-01403: no data found error
when the APEX page has validations AND a tabular form is also present on the page.
I did see a couple of other forum links discussing the issue (bug id: 9879227 ?? ).
But what i want to get a confirmation on is, in which release was this bug really fixed ?
i see the release notes of 4.0.1.00.03 claiming that it is fixed
in the release.
we are on 4.0.1.00.03. is this bug really solved in release 4.0.1.00.03?
are there any known work-arounds ? i tried re-creating the report multiple times, but that did not help.
Any suggestions or work-arounds will greatly help us.

OBJECTS_OBJREF_NOT_ASSIGNED_NO error when accessing some links in DOE

Hello Everyone,
        We have setup a Development system for R&D on SAP NW Mobile 7.1 SPS08. I'm able to register mobile devices (Laptop) in DOE but when I'm trying to access few links (like Administration-->Device Administration) I'm getting error "Access using a 'ZERO' object reference is not possible" and an ABAP dump "OBJECTS_OBJREF_NOT_ASSIGNED_NO" is created. Error when connecting to portal from some machines

Hi all,
Can anyone help me with this.
I get this jserver error when connecting to portal from some
client machines.
I works fine from the others. Any ideas?
This is the error I get:

Did you ever find the cause of this, I am receiving the same message, but as you said, only when connecting to the portal via a certain pc.
