Bug? Deploy RPM created with Alien

Hello,
I use ZLM 7.2.
I try to deploy SAPGui to SLED 10 SP2 Workstations.
I created a custom RPM with Alien.
Code:
tar zcvf sapgui.tgz /opt/sapgui
alien --description="Custome SAPGui 7.10.4" --version=7 -r sapgui.tgz
When I check my rpm with
Code:
rpm qlp sapgui-7-1.noarch.rpm
I see that everything looks ok.
/opt/sapgui
/opt/sapgui/SAPGUI
/opt/sapgui/SAPGUI/bin
/opt/sapgui/SAPGUI/bin/guilogon
I created a bundle and assigned it to a catalog. From the managed device I installed sapgui with the command rug in sapgui. The process works fine.
But rug installs sapgui at the root of the filesystem (/) and not in /opt.
If I manually install the rpm with rpm -i sapgui then everything is fine.
Is that a known bug? Or maybe I make a mistake?

is it possible that you made that rpm more then once and in an earlier version you have placed the sapgui in the root directory ?
I would check the bundle you have created in the tlm web interface and notice the bundle guid. That is a long string with numbers and characters and visible in the bundle details.
Also please note the version of that bundle that is currently deployed.
With that number go to the zlm server /var/opt/novell/zenworks/pkg-repo/bundles. The first two characters of the bundle guid are the name of the next directory and in there you have a directory with the full bundle guid. In there is a directory matching the version number of the bundle and there in is another one matching the target platform. So sled-10... in your case.
So finally we are at the place where the rpm is available that gets deployed to your sled workstation.
Check this rpm with "rpm -qlp <rpm name>" for its content and see if it is also in the root directory.

Same problem here (no graphics in header or footer) and the problem has been reported months ago. It is another bug/feature lost when Apple moves from 09 to the iCloud-compatible versions. Complain to Apple, you may have better chance than me and they may finally listen to their users....

Activation of Creative Cloud packages created with CCP 1.3 breaks when deploying via imaging

Descption of the problem:
If Creative Cloud products are deployed as a part of an OS image and the packages are created with CCP for Windows 1.3, the activation still breaks.
The problem affects most of our class room computers but, however, not all of them.
When a standard user tries to open any of the products, an error message is displayed instead of opening the the program.
Configuration error
A problem has occurred with the licensing of this product.
Restart your computer and re-launch the product.
If this problem still occurs after restarting, contact Customer Support for further assistance, and mention the error code shown at the bottom of this screen.

Installed Products: Acrobat XI,Ai,Dw,Fl,Id and Ps
CCP version: 1.3.0, build 66
CCP Workstation OS: Windows 7 SP1 32-bit
Target OS: Windows 7 SP1 64-bit
Workaround: running APTEE on an resolves the issue every time. Yet according to Adobe this should not be necessary.
Deployment workflow
1. Create a single package containg all of the products with CCP and an Enterprise CC serial number.
2. Customize Acrobat .mst file for the target language with Adobe Customization Wizard XI, leaving the serial empty.
3. Create a batch file to run ExceptionDeployer in pre mode, install the the other products and finally run ExceptionDeployer in post mode.
4. Install the the package to a model computer using the batch.
5. Run Windows's built-in sysprep tool with OOBE and shutdown switches.
6. Capture the image from the model computer and deploy it to other computers.
We can unfortunately reliably reproduce this issue and we are, if not happy, but at least willing to provide you all the required logs and other info to find a real solution.

I have a VeriStand-Project (VSP) created with my Laptop-Host (LTH) which works with my PXI, while
deploying it from my LTH. Then I have installed the whole NI enviroment for PXI and VeriStand use on a
industrial PC (iPC). I have tried to deploy my VSP from the iPC to the PXI but the following error
message arose on my iPC:

The software versions of the NI products (MAX/My System/Software) between my LTH and the iPC are
almost the same. The only differences are:
1. LabView Run-Time 2009 SP1 (64-bit); is installed on LTH but missing on iPC. The iPC has a 32-bit system.
2. LabView Run-Time 2012 f3; is installed on LTH but missing on iPC.
3. NI-DAQmx ADE Support 9.3.5; something strage on the LTH, because normally I am using NI-DAQmx 9.5.5 and all other DAQmx products on my LTH are 9.5.5. That means NI-DAQmx Device Driver 9.5.5 and NI-DAQmx Configuration 9.5.5.. On the iPC side all three products are 9.5.5.. That means NI-DAQmx ADE Support 9.5.5, NI-DAQmx Device Driver 9.5.5 and NI-DAQmx Configuration 9.5.5..
4. Traditional NI-DAQ 7.4.4; The iPC has this SW installed. On the LTH this SW is missing.
In order to fix this problem I have formatted my PXI and I have installed the following SW from the iPC:
1. LabVIEW Real-Time 11.0.1
2. NI-488.2 RT 3.0.0
3. NI_CAN 2.7.3
Unfortunately the above stated problem still arose.
What can I do to fix this problem?
I found a hint on http://www.labviewforum.de/Thread-XNET-CAN-die-ersten-Gehversuche.
There it is written to deploy the dbc file againt.
If this is a good hint, so how do I deploy a dbc file?
I would feel very pleased if somebody could help me! :-)

Hi Lukas,
I think the problem is caused by differenet drivers for the CAN communication.
NI provides two driver for CAN: NI-CAN and NI-XNET.
NI-CAN is the outdated driver which is not longer used by new hardware. NI replaced the NI-CAN driver with NI-XNET some years ago, which supports CAN, LIN and the FLEXRAY communication protocol.

Word 2000 hyperlinks don't work in .pdf created with Acrobat 9 Pro

I'm new to Adobe Forums, so please overlook the effrontery of my posting a query previously discussed. Perhaps someone can simply reply with a link to the prior discussion. I have installed Acrobat 9.2 Pro in 2 computers, one running XP64 Pro, the other XP32 Pro. Word 2000 is installed in both. All Word hyperlinks work fine, but after .pdf conversion using Acrobat 9.2 Pro, none of these work. In 'Preferences', I have navigated Convert to PDF > Microsoft Office Office Word > Edit Settings > Add Links to Adobe PDF File and confirmed that the Add Links feature is enabled. Having ascertained that this glitch is not specific to either XP64 or XP32 operating systems, I uninstalled Acrobat 9.2 Pro from the XP32 computer and reinstalled Acrobat 6.1 Pro. Then using the same Word 2000 document, I converted to .pdf using Acrobat 6.1 Pro, with no problems whatsoever. This looks like a serious bug in Acrobat 9 Pro, which the telephone support folks have acknowledged. Alas, they won't give me the tiniest clue how to resolve it, nor any workaround, but merely refer me to AdobeForums.com for help. I suspect a corrective patch or 'upgrade' will be forthcoming, but meanwhile, if anyone knows of a workaround, please enlighten me. Thanks. /rmbrown

Thank you, CtDave, for your speedy reply and for the 'Acrobat Technical Evangelist' knowledge base article. Word 2000 is one of Microsoft's masterpieces - by disabling 'autosave', the application is totally stable, does not require 'activation' by Microsoft. Acrobat 9 enables 'saving' of interactive .pdf forms, a most valuable feature and one much appreciated by anyone completiing such forms. There must be more to this issue than 'incompatibility', because I can create a test Word 2000 document, hyperlink a valid URL, convert to .pdf with Acrobat 9, and the hyperlink works fine in Acrobat 9. When I attempt to do this using a much more complex Word 2000 document, embedded with scores of hyperlinks, these links fail to work following conversion to .pdf with Acrobat 9, but work fine following conversion to .pdf with Acrobat 6. I can then use Acrobat 9 to open the .pdf created with Acrobat 6, and successfully edit any of these fully functional hyperlinks using the 'Link tool'. I don't know who prepared the 'Acrobat Technical Evangelist' article (AF1908DCd01) - no credits were cited, and I'm far from certain that this authentically belongs to Adobe's knowledge base. So I appreciate your sharing this information with me, but I cannot say that my question has been definitively answered. Add "Targets" attribute to the connection pool. You may
get an idea how it looks like by searching config.xml
for "targets". If target servers are not set, the pool won't be
deployed and can not be used to a create datasource.

How can i deploy a servlet with eclispe

Hello,
will any one of u give me the steps to deploy a servlet with eclipse on portal server(J2EE Engine),
in help of eclipse they given as, whole webapplication deployement, but that is also giving me a error, the procedure they given is, once we created a .war file for our servlet project we need to refer this to a .Ear file, and then this Ear can be deployed in to the server. Is it the same and only procedure to deploy a servlet with eclipse, or if there is any other method,please give me the steps also.

Zipped files created with Java won't unzip with Java

Hello there,
I have written a class for unzipping a zip file using the 'ZipFile' class. It works perfectly fine when I extract zip files that have been created with XP, Winzip, or Winrar.
I am now experimenting with creating zip files using the ZipOutputStream (http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?forumID=256&threadID=366550 by author smeee). The code works great for creating the zip file, but when I try and unzip it with the zipfile class mentioned above it throws an exception.
The error that the following code gives me when it tries to convert an element from the enumeration to a ZipEntry is this: java.io.FileNotFoundException: C:\testfiles\out\high\BAUMAN\00001.jpg (The system cannot find the path specified)
NOTE: The file is there by the way!!! :-)

Hello All,
For anyone else who use the forum posting by smeee as a guide to create a zipper (http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?forumID=256&threadID=366550 by author smeee).
I was tracing through the code and found that there is a statement that adds 1 character (strSource.length()+1) to the source path. This was causing the following bug:
In windows it was placing objects like this \myfolder\myfile.txt
In unix it was placing objects like this yfolder\myfile.txt
Naturally a path like \myfolder... in the zip index was causing problems. I have added a case statement that tests the OS and then adds two chars if windows to compensate for the 'C:' and does nothing if Unix. The code now runs perfectly on either OS.

Deployment Manager Error with Oracle Weblogic Server 10.3.1

I have installed Identity Manager 9.1.0.2 (patch upgraded from 9.1.0.1) on OEL 5.3 64bit and Weblogic 10.3.1
Database:Oracle 11gR2 (remote machine).
**I am aware that IM 9.1.0.2 is not certified on Weblogic 10.3.1 (it is only certified on 10.3),
The installation was successful and OIManager is up and running. Able to create Users, Resources etc. as well.
As part of configuring OIM Connectors tried to Import .xml file using Import option from Deployment Management section as below and the following error was displayed.
"Either your session timed out or you are trying to access a page without logging in".
Did all workarounds like enabling java, changing browsers, restarting machine etc as per the below discussion but in vain.

Can any one suggest any workaround or solution for this problem.
Or atleast can any one confirm there is no Identity manager available on this date which is compatible with 10.3.1? and cannot be continued further.

You are facing this issue because you're using a non certified combination.
Other folks who tried to use OIM in 10.3.1 ended up in the same problem you're facing.

New session created with every request

Hi there,
I have an web application that we used to deploy on tomcat, websphere and bea without any trouble. We are trying to move to support OAS and the application gives this peculiar behavior:
A new session is created with every single request by the client browser. I have searched these forums for the better part of today and read some interesting similar cases but none of the fixes seem to have any effect on my problem.
Is there a different way I need to request the session object from the request in the app for OAS? Or is there a configuration that I should have? I am deploying the app as a .war file. Is there a better way to deploy on OAS, should I stick the war in a .ear?
Any help on this would be most greatly appreciated!

I have a problem that matches with this subject line but its somewhat different. This original posting wants to create new session and invalidate the existing one but my problem is to keep the session invalide if it has expired for the browser.
Anyways, here is my problem. I have JSP named entity_actions.jsp which has 3 pop-up links that opens up with code like:

Now lets say I want to show the end user session expiry page after 5 mins of idle time. Now from entity_actions.jsp when I click/open any one popup first time after 5 mins of idle time/session expire,

this loggers shows current_session as 'null' and I can display session exp mesg on the popup page. But when I click/open any other popup or any other link on the page it DOES WORK instead of having current_session = null, it creates new one. And I can see the sessionid which is different than fist session created on the same base page/browser.
The same pattern of code used to work on Tomcat and JRun before for showing consistant session expiry on all the clicks being made on the same browswer after session gets expire.
Why OC4J / JDev 10.1.3 is creating new session on the same browser even after session has expired?
How can I fix this?

Labview 8.20 Crash using vi's created with import dll wizard

Has anyone had issues with the DLL wizard or DLLs that use the USB port?
I have used the DLL import wizard to create an instrument driver for a picoscope 3424. When I run the Initaization.vi it exicutes properly, however, if I close the vi I get the Labview must be closed, send an error report to Microsoft blah,blah. If I disconnect the PicoScope (unplug the usb cable) then close the VI no error happens.
Once I received the Labview invstigate error and sent the data to NI (REF#7134654).
I had a driver written with LV 7.1.1 that worked with out any issue, I converted the 7.1.1 vi's to 8.20 and I no longer have the issue. This leads me to beleive that there may be a bug in the DLL wizard.

I'll try to answer your questions.
a) Yes that is correct, the source files are avaliable for download at http://www.picotech.com/software.html.
b) I have found some issues with the available settings in the DLL Import wizard, one is there is no availble choice for setting the parameter type to array. This is available when you right click on the CLN and select configure. I checked the configurations of the open unit and close unit nodes and they look the same. I have also noticed that the block diagrams created with the DLL Import wizard are very messy with overlaping wires and poor wire routing.
c) The original wrapper I created was done quickly and I only created the functions I needed at the time, I was attempting to create a proper Insturment Driver project and wanted all of the functions to be created, this is why I was using the import wizard.
I am still at a loss as to why disconnecting the instrument from the USB port prevents this crash from happening.
For now I have reverted to the 7.1.1 wrapper converted to 8.20 as I do not have time to continue investigating this issue.

URL_DATASTORE .pdf's created with Adobe Distilller 4.0

I am running Oracle 9i (9.2.0.1.0) on Solaris 8. I am using an Oracle text URL_DATASTORE to index pdf's, word docs, and html files. I am able to successfully index and query for all documents except for pdf's with interactive fields created by Adobe Distiller 4.0. All other PDF's work fine (including those created with distiller 5.0). Is their a known problem with this combination (Distiller 4 and Oracle Text 9.2 ?). When reindexing a Distiller 4.0 pdf I get the following error in ctxsys.DR$INDEX_ERROR:
DRG-11207: "user filter command exited with status 1"

I know of no problems, but support might. I'd recommend logging a tar since they have the 'master' view of the bug database and their internal knowledge base.

Problem deploying war created in Sun Java Studio Enterprise 8

I have, with some help from this forum, converted a portlet application from the Sun Java Studio Enterprise 7 environment to the Sun Java
Studio Enterprise 8 environment. This portlet application runs in SJSE 8 now but fails when I pdeploy it to the portal server (Portal Server 6
2005 Q1). The old war created from SJSE 6 does work. The code is identical. The war files are slightly different.
On deployment I get:

As I mentioned before, the war created with 7 did not cause this and the application behaved normally.
Any insight would be appreciated.
I am going to look at the diff between the two wars.

Deploying Forms 6i with Forms Server 6i

Hi there.
I am trying to deploy a application with Forms 6i using Forms Server 6i, with 8.1.7 DB.
The forms are linked to a library, and when i try to run them over the browser, i get error messages saying that the pl/sql procedures in the library are not found.
Can anyone help me, please?

Paulo,
With Forms on the web, you should set environment variables in the default.env file (or create your own .env file). Don't use the Windows Registry.
As Grant said, you need to follow the steps in the Listener Servlet deployment guide. (You didn't say which patchset you are using or which architecture you are using, so I will assume you are using the Forms Listener Servlet architecture.)
The URL that Grant gave does work. So you either need to upgrade your version of Adobe Acrobat Reader, or something is wrong with your machine.
