Bug: Form on table without DELETE

Minor issue, but thought I would mention it nevertheless.
I generated a form on a table using the wizard and selected only the 'update and insert' DML options. When the Delete button is clicked, I want to do a UPDATE that actually sets a active flag to 0 (soft delete).
So I created my own DELETE button and a after submit process to do my UPDATE.
To my surprise, everytime I clicked on the DELETE button, I got an error ORA-20001 Operation DELETE unsupported
When I changed the name of the button from DELETE to REMOVE everything was fine.
Thanks

Yes, regardless of what the exact error message was, this is the expected behavior. I wouldn't classify this as a bug, it's quirky behavior in HTML DB that stands to be improved.
In Automatic Row Processing, the delete action is keyed by the exact request value of 'DELETE'. So your button label could be whatever you want, but on an HTML DB page that uses Automatic Row Processing, a request value of DELETE has specific meaning.

  • Hi. How can I delete the table without deleting the content? My pages is 5.2.2.

Hi. How can I delete the table without deleting the content? My pages version is 5.2.2. Thank you for your help.

There is no convert Table to text capability in Pages v5.2.2, as there was in Pages ’09 v4.3.
You can keep the table while making the table grid vanish, leaving the existing tabular text structure. Select the table, and under the Format panel > Table tab, the following settings will produce this output. If selected, you can refine its document placement in the Arrange tab.

  • Ora-20001 when creating a form on table with report (bug?)

Having some trouble creating a "Form on table with report".
    1) I pick my table
    2) take most of the defaults on the page where you pick the report type (interactive) and the page number (I changed it to 950). next->
    3) Do not use tabs. Next->
    4) Select all columns for the report. THEN (here's the problem) set an optional where clause of system_role_name like 'ODPSPOPUP%'. Next->
    5) choose standard edit link. next->
    6) Specify a page of 951 for the form (leave others defaults). next->
    7) Set the form primary key (defined in table). next->
    8) use existing trigger. next->
    9) choose all columns for the form. next->
    10) Leave actions to insert, update, delete. next->
    11) Get to the summary page and click Finish
Then I get an error page saying:
ORA-20001: Unable to create query and update page. ORA-20001: Unable to create query and update page. ORA-00933: SQL command not properly ended
If I go back to step 4 and erase my where clause the wizard completes successfully.
Also if I change the report type in step 2 from the default of "Interactive" to "Classic" the wizard completes successfully. However upon running the report I get a query parse error. Looks like the where clause in the report sql is: system_role_name like ''ODPSPOPUP%'' (two single quotes on each side).
It looks as if you cannot specify a where clause with a quoted string. The wizard is expecting a bind variable.
    Workaround(s):
    1) Don't specify a where clause when report type = Interactive in "create form on table with report" wizard.
    or
    2) Specify a bogus where clause using bind variable syntax such as "system_role_name like :BOGUSVARIABLE". Then edit the report query once the wizard finishes and change the where clause to the constant string you wanted to use in the wizard (e.g. "system_role_name like 'MYSYSTEM%'")

    Hi  ,
The onclick event provides you with a standard paramater "CONTEXT_ELEMENT" which has the element from which the event is triggered.
so you can declare this in the handler(if it is not there) and use it as follows.
CONTEXT_ELEMENT  TYPE REF TO IF_WD_CONTEXT_ELEMENT  an importing paramater.
    DATA:
    NODE_MODULE TYPE REF TO IF_WD_CONTEXT_NODE,
    ELEM_MODULE TYPE REF TO IF_WD_CONTEXT_ELEMENT,

  • Add / Delete a row in a table without using a button

    Hi,
I was just wondering if it was possible to remove or add a row in a table without using the button?  I noticed that in all examples, it always involve putting code in the button click event but I wanted to add or delete a row in a table based on the fact if the row contains a certain value or not.  Is that possible?
    Much appreciated,
    Vincent

    Vincent,
         Here is the updated file..
    https://acrobat.com/#d=bVDBNM0pnS2IpfE58V01Tg
You have checked the checkbox "Repeat subform for each Row" for Header Row under IndTable1. You need to do at Row1 level of Table1.
I bound the Row1 of Table1 to <Row1> tag in your XML which can repeat multiple times.
I wrote the code in the Doc Ready event of the Test1 field to check whether the value is existing or not. If it does not have a value, then I am removing the instance of the Row1 by passing the current index.. (You can check the code)..
While creating a data connection using XML you need to make sure that the below structure is repeated atleast 2 times. And while previewing you can use make a copy of this same XML and remove Row1.
      <Row1>
        <Test1>Individual Name 1</Test1>
      </Row1>
    Thanks

You mean take the cover off of the iPhone, to look inside?  I'd recommend against it.  Even with warranty expired, you might qualify for an out-of-warranty service, which for 3GS is $149.
Other than that, any repair/service options are going to cost money.  You might want to see if a wireless carrier will let you get a new contract & phone.
Out of curiousity, you're just using at as, basically, an iPod Touch, if there's no cell provider?  Did I understand that correctly?

  • How to create the reation between two tables without creating relation

    Hi,
    I have three tables.( A,B and C)
    I created relation between A,B and A,C.
I want to create the relation between B,C without using realtion in oracle forms.
    Please do the needful.

ok, now i understand your problem. It is a case of one-many-many relation between three blocks.
In this situation what i personally follow that - save records in between when it ask for a commit. And i shall advice you to follow that only. This is the safe and easy method.
    Otherwise,
1> make your third block a non-database block.
2> When finish entering/modifying each data set related to 2nd block - insert/update/delete the data grammatically into a temporary table. and after that clear the 3rd block.
3> you need to reload the record in 3rd block from the temporary table when you move to a record of 2nd block that has already been entered.
4> now when you finally commit your form the insert/update/delete record from the temporary table into the final 3rd table.
Now follow which ever steps is suitable for you.

  • How to delete aggreagetd data in a cube without deleting the Aggregates?

    Hi Experts,
How to delete aggreagetd data in a cube without deleting the Aggregates?
    Regards
    Alok Kashyap

    Hi,
You can deactivate the aggregate. The data will be deleted but structure will remain.
If you switch off the aggregates it wont be identified by the OLAP processor. report will fetch the data directly from the cube. Switching off the aggreagte won't delete any data, but temporarly the aggregate will not be availbale as if it is not built on the info cube. No reporting is not possible on swtiched off aggregates. The definition of the aggregate is not deleted.
You can temporarily switch off an aggregate to check if you need to use it. An aggregate that is switched off is not used when a query is executed. This aggregate will be having data from the previous load's. If the aggregate is switched off means it wont be available for reporting but data can be rolled up into it.
If u deactivate the aggregates the data will be deleted from the aggregates and the aggregate structure will remain the same.
The system deletes all the data and database tables of an aggregate. The definition of the aggregate is not deleted.
Later when you need those aggregate once again you have to create it from scratch.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    JituK

  • Count the Records in  an internal table without a loop.

How do i count the number of records in an internal table without using the loop  statement.
The Describe statement give the total no. of records in the internal table. But i want the count of the key fields in the internal table
    For eg
    Row Field
    1       A
    2       A
    3       A
    4       B
    5       B
    6       C
    Count of A = 3
    Count of B = 2
    Count of C = 1

    Dilip,
      I think isn't posible. Only 3 ideas:
1ª, make other table "table2", similar to your actual table.
         table2[] = yourtable[].
         delete table2 where key <> 'A'.
         describe table table2 lines contA.
But depending the amount of data, you may have problems in performance or memory consumption...
2ª, make other table, only with the keys fields and a count field,
        data begin table2
           key_field1,
           cont type i.
        end data.
when you append lines to yourdata, make a collect to this table:
        table2-keys = yourtable-keys.
        table2-cont = 1.
       collect table2.
But only works if you can modify the program where data is appended, and you may be carefull when data is deleted :-(...
3ª if your data if filled in a select, you may fill the table2 of point 2ª, making a similar select but:
select keyfields count( * ) into table table2
      from ...
where (the same you have to fill your original table...)
       group by keys.
But you have the same problem is data is deleted later...
I hope that any of the three is useful for you...

  • How do I delete part of a column without deleting the whole column

I'm trying to deleting certain cells within the same column but I don't know how without deleting the entire column.  It sounds so simple but I'm sure I'm overlooking something.  Thanks.

Bummer! Thought there would be something similar to Excel.
Excel describes this in different terms, and the Excel user goes through a different set of steps, but the reality is that in Excel as in Numbers you are shifting content from one set of cells to another, not 'deleting cells'.
If you were actually 'deleting cells' from rows 2-11 of a column, then shifting all cells right of the deleted cells into the space left by the 'deleted' cells, one of the results would be that at the right edge of the table, rows 2 through 11 would end one column 'earlier' than the rest of the rows (from which 'cells' had NOT been deleted.
Excel: Select the cells whose content is to be replaced, tell Excel to 'delete cells'. Tell Excel which direction to move content to fill the cells. Excel moves that content into the emptied cells.
Numbers (method 1): Select the cells whose content is to be moved. Copy. Select the first cell that is to receive the content. Paste.
Numbers (method 1a): Select the cells whose content is to be moved. Drag the content to the first cell that is to receive the content. Drop.
Numbers (method 2): Select the cells whose content is to be moved. Press shift-command-X (or go Edit > Mark for Move. Select the first cell to receive the content. Press Shift-command-V (or go Edit > Move.

  • Data fetch from table without Refresh and without using tab key.

    hi Friends,
I have a problem i want to extract data from table without Refresh into text field without using Tab key. when i'll enter any value in a text field then corressponding value should come in to corressponding textfield without using Tab Key.
eg. when i enter emp_id 101 in a text field then the first_name and last_name ,adress should come in to corressponding text fields without refresh and without using Tab key.
    How Can I do this.
    Thanks
    Manoj

    Hi Manoj,
I assume that this is similar to: Data fetch without Refresh rather than Re: Value of one textfield should come into another textfield Without Using TAB ?
If so, the only change you need to make on the first one is to use "onkeyup" instead of "onchange" in the item's "HTML Form Element Attributes" setting.
Note, however, that the user must move away from the item at some point (for example, to click a button), so the onchange will be triggered anyway.

  • Query for Linking Two Tables without Reference

    Hi Folks,
    Good Day!
I have this dilemma on how to link two tables without a reference. In the Business Partner Master Data, there is a field for the Territory which is from the table OTER. This OTER focuses on its description. Once you have added the particular Territory for that Business Partner, it is being stored in the Territory field of the BP right? Our client wants to have an automated way of searching for the Business Partner's Profit Center in creating a Sales Order wherein it is the same as the Business Partner's Territory. The Profit Center is from the table OPRC.
When I create a Sales Order, after I have entered the Business Partner/Customer Code, the Profit Center should have the value of the Profit Center Code wherein it is the Business Partner's Territory. My query will go like this:
Enter the BP/Customer Code automatically the Profit Center code where Profit Name = BP's Territory.
OTER and OCRD don't have connections. How can it be?
I'm thinking of retrieving the Territory first before the Profit Center but can you suggest of any other way?
    Thank you much!
    Regards,
    Fringe

    Hi Fringe,
Okay, I already understood your case here. I presume your configuration as follows:
    OTER (Territory)
    territryID - descript
    1 - Philippine
    2 - Indonesia
    3 - Germany
    OPRC (Cost Centre)
    PrcCode - PrcName
    25 - Philippine
    33 - Indonesia
    47 - Germany
Was above illustration correct? Then, you could use this formatted search in Cost Centre / Dimension field in Sales Order rows
SELECT PrcCode FROM OPRC WHERE PrcName=(
SELECT TOP 1 descript FROM OTER T0
INNER JOIN OCRD T1 ON T0.territryID=T1.Territory
    WHERE T1.CardCode=$[OCRD.CardCode.0])
However, I suggest you use a little bit different approach here. Since you can't define Territory Code / Territory ID (you could only type the Territory name, Philippine etc.), why don't you standardize Territory name with Cost Centre code? Let say, you define Philippine as PHI, Indonesia as INA, Germany as DEU and so on. Therefore, user can read the Cost Centre or more precisely Distribution Rules in Sales Order form in more familiar way.
    OTER (Territory)
    territryID - descript
    1 - PHI
    2 - INA
    3 - DEU
    OPRC (Cost Centre)
    PrcCode - PrcName
    PHI - Philippine
    INA - Indonesia
    DEU - Germany
When FMS worked in Sales Order document, your user will read PHI instead of 25, should be more familiar to them. With that being said, you could use simpler FMS
    SELECT descript FROM OTER T0
INNER JOIN OCRD T1 ON T0.territryID=T1.Territory
    WHERE T1.CardCode=$[OCRD.CardCode.0]
You only need to maintain consistency between Territory Name and Cost Centre code. Just my two cents. Hope this help.

  • Can an off-cycle payroll result deleted without deleting current result?

    Hi all,
I want to delete an off-cycle result dated 06.10.2008 without deleting current payroll result.
Is it possible? if yes, what is the tcode or report for this?
To elaborate the need to delete,
Bonus has been paid on 29.09.2008 with correct amount. Due to some reason this record has been over written to 06.10.2008. That's why system is deducting bonus amount paid as per 29.09.2008 from gross salary in the form of /552 - Stat. Net Subsequent adjustment. October payroll has been run and exited. we have found that in many cases, bonus amount has been recovered and net amount mismatches with gross-deduction in the payslip.
We think, if we can delete off-cycle payroll result on 06.10.2008 and correct IT267 as per 29.09.2008, then system will paid back in the November pay run.
Please suggest what is the best way to tackle this scenario?
    Suitable answers will be rewarded.
    Thanks
    rajesh

    Hi,
    This is impossible to delete.
What I understand is the IT0267 record is being overwritten after the Bonus run is exited. Right?
If is it so then have U able to found out How?If U have found out then share this so that a proper solution can be suggested.
Anyways revert the over writing by putting all the bonus amout back to 29th and delete 06th ones and run the payroll for next month..System will again adjust the things in a retro run.

    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B28359_01/server.111/b28310/tables006.htm#i1006645
Use the ALTER TABLE...MODIFY statement to modify an existing column definition. You can modify column datatype, default value, column constraint, column expression (for virtual columns) and column encryption.
You can increase the length of an existing column, or decrease it, if all existing data satisfies the new length. You can change a column from byte semantics to CHAR semantics or vice versa. You must set the initialization parameter BLANK_TRIMMING=TRUE to decrease the length of a non-empty CHAR column.
If you are modifying a table to increase the length of a column of datatype CHAR, realize that this can be a time consuming operation and can require substantial additional storage, especially if the table contains many rows. This is because the CHAR value in each row must be blank-padded to satisfy the new column length.
And the ALTER TABLE statement in the SQL Language doc
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B28359_01/server.111/b28286/statements_3001.htm#SQLRF01001
    modify_col_properties
Use this clause to modify the properties of the column. Any of the optional parts of the column definition (datatype, default value, or constraint) that you omit from this clause remain unchanged.
datatype You can change the datatype of any column if all rows of the column contain nulls. However, if you change the datatype of a column in a materialized view container table, then Oracle Database invalidates the corresponding materialized view.
You can omit the datatype only if the statement also designates the column as part of the foreign key of a referential integrity constraint. The database automatically assigns the column the same datatype as the corresponding column of the referenced key of the referential integrity constraint.
You can always increase the size of a character or raw column or the precision of a numeric column, whether or not all the rows contain nulls. You can reduce the size of a datatype of a column as long as the change does not require data to be modified. The database scans existing data and returns an error if data exists that exceeds the new length limit.
