Bug in Config Data Source Parameter on Content presenter

Hi all,
I find out a bug when we configure Data Source parameter on Content Presenter at run-time.
Example:
I configure the value for Data Source is:
${'SELECT * FROM ora:t:IDC:Profile:TinbaiProfile WHERE ora:p:xmNgayxuatban < TIMESTAMP \''}${pageFlowScope.utilsBean.strCurrentDate}${'\''}
and Data Source Type: Query Expression
Then Click OK to save my configuration and close the popup
After that I came back the Component Properties: Content presenter dialog to configure more parameter. And I saw the value in the Data Source is:
SELECT * FROM ora:t:IDC:Profile:TinbaiProfile WHERE ora:p:xmNgayxuatban < TIMESTAMP ''}${pageFlowScope.utilsBean.strCurrentDate}${''
If I do anything else and click Apply or OK, it will alert the error message "Error: Error Parsing..."
It's really a bug of this component. I known it happen from version 11.1.1.6.0 and hope the next version it will be fixed. But now is version 11.1.1.8.0 this bug still here .
In my opinion Oracle should do more and more for a good produce with high value as $ for buying their produces and services
Thanks!

Thanks DanielMerchán!
I have one more question about the error when I config the JOC for the manage server where my portal application is deployed.
After finish config JOC for my manage server as the link Configuring the Distributed Java Object Cache - 11g Release 1 (11.1.1), my portal application can't run anymore. Check the log I saw the error:
<Sep 17, 2013 4:59:17 PM ICT> <Error> <oracle.as.cache.groupv2.HttpHandler> <BEA-000000> <CO-0 Invalid HTTP request information: GET /ubck/faces/vi/vimenu/vipages_trangchu HTTP/1.1>
Do you know why? I do something wrong
Thanks!

  • Unable to collect Update/Transfer rules Info & Data sources from BI content

    Hi,
    We are tyring to activate Infoprovider 0PY_CO2 from BI content by selecting the option - In data before. BI is unable to collect all corresponding objects such as Update rules, Info source, transfer rules and the data source for the selected Infoprovider. Only Info area and associated info objects are being collected for the installation.
    We are experiencing same problem whilst acitvating most of the info providers. However, in some cases, either of these objects get activated but not all the necessary objects that feed data to the Infoprovider (cube or multi provider).
    Also, Infopackages and Info object catalogs are not being collected for any objects activated/installed so fare from the BI content.
    We are trying to activate BW 3.5 content on the BI 7.0 environment. BI Content release is 703 and support pack level is 008.
    Kindly share any pointers to troubleshoot this probelm please.
    Thanks
    Venkat

    Shiv,
    For some Info providers, all associated info objects(including transfer & update rules and info source and data sources) are getting collected and got successfuly installed. But this is true for only 10% of the Info providers that we have installed so far.
    Remaining all the objects, we are unable to proceed further.
    Thanks
    Venkat.

  • Data Reconciliation Data Sources in Business Content

    Can you tell me where we can find these data sources and explain me how to use them? Do we need to define infocube/ods or anything like that to load the data and use report to see the results?
    Please explain me with one complete scenario.
    Thanks.

    Data Reconciliation for data sources allows you to ensure the consistency of data has been loaded in to BI is available and used productively there.
    It is based on comparision of the data loaded in to BI and the application data in the source system.You can access the data in the source system directly to perform this comparison.
    The term Data Reconciliation data source is used for Data sources that are used as a reference for accessing the application data in the source directly and there fore allow you to draw comparison to the source data.
    It allows you to check the integrity of the loaded data by for EXAMPLE,comparing the total of a keyfigure in the data store object with the corresponding totals that the virtual providers access directly in the Source system.
    Hope it will helps you.....

  • Business Content and Data Sources automatic binding

    Hi,
    I am not clear about the Data Sources and Business Content sync.
    If I transfer the datasources in SBIW(RSA5)  and replicate in BW, how it will automatically bind to the infosources and data targets when we activate the relevant infoobjects in BW Business content. As part of Business content activation, will it search for datasources and bind to it automatically? What steps are needed in order to make the everything hooked up correctly?
    Can anyone clarify to me how it works? Please explain step-by-step.
    Thanks.

    Is there any addiotional things we need to do at info source level after activating the content? Selecting the correct data source etc.
    If there is a enhancement to the extraction structure then what all steps manually  we need to do at info source level? When we replicate the data source which has been enhanced, will it create the infoobjects automatically so that they can be used in infosource communication structure?
    As I am new to the system, I am running in to all these questions.
    Appreciate any help in step by step how things will work.
    Thanks.

  • Data sources in deploying web app. to Oracle Application Server

    I am using simple web application - JSP with BC4J (JDeveloper 9.0.5.1).
    I want to configure my application to use Data Source instead of JDeveloper connection and deploy it to production database, so DB administrator will take care of username and password.
    First, I create a new application module configuration that uses a data source instead of a JDeveloper connection with BC config. name TestAppModuleWithDS.
    Then I modify my application client (DataBindings.cpx) to use the new configuration (TestAppModuleWithDS).
    After that I create deployment profile and deploy to application server connection and try to test it on standalone server, and on production server together with my DBA.
    But the application is not running, always displaying error messages...
    Please what is the procedure and how to set Config of ApplModule.
    It is working properly with embeded server, but on standalone server there is an error:

    iAS 1.0.x is StoneAge Technology (TM).
    Using the E-Business Suite you should look into the newer versions of the Application Server. I believe that 10.1.2.x supports the EBS, otherwise 9.04 should do the trick. Webservice support is much better in the newer versions. 1.0.x is from around 2000/2001 so the Webservice technology back than was "different" :-)

  • 903/902/BC4J can't get data-sources.xml conn pooling to work in production; help

    I have several BC4J ears deployed to a 903 instance of OC4J being configured as a standalone
    instance. I've had this problem since I started deploying in development on 902. So it's
    some basic problem that I've not mastered.
    I can't get data-sources.xml managed connection pooling to actually pool conn's. I'm wanting
    to declare my jndi jdbc source connection pool in j2ee/home/config/data-sources.xml.
    Have all BC4J apps get conns from this JNDI JDBC pool. I've removed all data-sources.xml from my BC4J ears,
    and published the jndi jdbc source in my oc4j common data-sources.xml. I've tested that this is
    the place controlling the conn URL/login passwd by commenting it out of config/data-sources.xml
    and my BC4J apps then throw exceptions, can't get conn.
    I've set the oc4j startup cmd line with the BC4J property to enabled connection pooling:
    -Djbo.doconnectionpooling=true
    symptom
    Connections are created and closed. Instead of being put back into the pool managed by oc4j,
    what ever BC4J is doing or my data-sources.xml is doing, the connections are just being created and
    closed.
    I can verify this via (solaris) lsof and netstat, where I see my oc4j instance under test load
    with only 1 or 2 conns to the db box, and the ephemeral port is tumbling, meaning a new socket is
    being opened for each conn. ;( grrrrrrr
    Does anyone have a clue as to why this is happening?
    Thanks, curt
    my data-sources.xml
    <data-sources>
         <data-source
            class="com.evermind.sql.DriverManagerDataSource"

            inactivity-timeout="300"
            max-connections="50"
            min-connections="40"
        />
    </data-sources>

    I've run another test using local data-source.xml, that's packaged in the .ear. Still
    pooling under BC4J doesn't work??
    A piece of info is that the 903 oc4j release notes states that global conn pooling doesn't
    work. Infering that the j2ee/home/config/data-sources.xml data sources aren't pooled or ??
    I just tested so called local connection pooling, where I edited the data-sources.xml that
    gets packaged in the ear, to include the min/max params and re-ran my test.
    Still, the AM creates a new conn, it's to a new socket, and closes the conn when done. Causing
    each conn to not be pooled, rather opened then closed to the DB box. As verified with lsof and
    netstat, checking the ephemeral port # on the DB box side, always changes, meaning it's a
    new socket and not an old pooled conn socket.
    ???? What the heck??
    Surely if the AM conn check out / return code works properly, OC4J's pooling JDBC driver would
    pool and not close the socket??
    Has anywone gotten JDBC Datasource connections in BC4J to actually be pooled under OC4J??
    Since I couldn't get this to work in my early 902 oc4j testing, and now can't get it to work
    still under 903 OC4J, either it's my config or BC4J AM's code or OC4J?
    Any thoughts on how to figure out what's not configed correctly or has a bug?
    Thanks, curt

  • Using JDBC Data Sources with ADFBC, NoInitialContextException

    Using JDBC Data Sources with ADF Business Components, NoInitialContextException
    I follow the instruction in the link below to create an ADF Swing application using datasource. I am using JDeveloper version 10.1.3.

    The ADF generated code looks like this:
    JUMetaObjectManager.setErrorHandler(new JUErrorHandlerDlg());
    JUMetaObjectManager mgr = JUMetaObjectManager.getJUMom();
    mgr.setJClientDefFactory(null);
    BindingContext ctx = new BindingContext();
    ctx.put(DataControlFactory.APP_PARAM_ENV_INFO, new JUEnvInfoProvider());
    ctx.setLocaleContext(new DefLocaleContext(null));
    HashMap map = new HashMap(4);
    map.put(DataControlFactory.APP_PARAMS_BINDING_CONTEXT, ctx);
    mgr.loadCpx("datasource.view.DataBindings.cpx" , map);
    final FormMain frame = new FormMain();
    frame.setBindingContext(ctx);
    I got this error when executing the last line: frame.setBindingContext(ctx);

    If the connection type is JDBC Datasource, I got the above error.
    Can someone show me how to adjust the generated code by ADF to use datasource?

    ADF BC has a bug. With Data Source in Application Module, application module does not connect. Use JDBC Connection URL.

  • JSF & Data source Problem

    Hi all
    I wrote my first jsf-adf project as discussed in cue cards in developer 10.1.3 using sql server 2005 , I configed my oc4j and app module as discussed in "Developing Oracle ADF Business Components for a SQL Server Database " paper in the same release of jdeveloper but I have 2 problems
    1. when I Config my environment without adding data-source into data-source.xml
    I get jbo-30003,jbo-29000 and jbo-26066 errors in the ie
    2. If i define my customized data-source in data-source.xml I get this error:"Unable to create com.evermind.sql.DriverManagerDataSource "
    my data-source code is
    "<data-source
      class="com.evermind.sql.DriverManagerDataSource"

  • Dynamically switch phisical data source

    Hi,
    Is it possible to dynamically (during one session) change connection pool data source parameter in OBIEE 11g?
    In my case there are 4 OLAP cubes with the same structure dedicated for different regions. I like to change data source standing behind report after user select region in dashboard prompt.

    It's possible but there is important limitation in AWM when we speak about OLAP data sources. You can't duplicate dimension names within one database schema. Also, I didn't find a way to parametrize database schema. You can only dynamically switch database name so need separate database per OLAP cube.
    1) Define separate database definitions in TNSNAMES.ORA file (in my case db name is country name).
    2) In admin tool create variable and init block that will set default database name.
    Manage -> Variables... -> Action -> New -> Session -> Variable
    3) Use variable as data source:
    Connection Pool -> Data source name -> VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION.COUNTRY_DATABASE_NAME)
    4) In analytics use dashboard prompt with list of countries (same as database names defined in TNSNAMES.ORA). With prompt set request variable (COUNTRY_DATABASE_NAME)
    Let me know if you found better way to achieve similar functionality.

  • COPA Data Source: possible to enhance using exit?

    Hi BI experts,
    I got a question about if it is possible to enhance COPA data source by using user exit (just like the way to enahance other data sources in the business content).
    The background:
    I have to include several new fields in COPA data source. Since COPA data source is generated (not a data source from business content like LIS data sources).
    My questions:
    1) Is it the recommended way to enhance the existing COPA data source using exit?
    2) or it would be better to delete the existing one and create a new one with the two additional fields?
    3) any potential issue to be expected?
    Your feedback and help is highly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Sally

    Hi
    1) Is it the recommended way to enhance the existing COPA data source using exit?
    Yes, we can enhance COPA DS via User Exit, Provided the fields should be from other different tables which are not from Segment Tables.
    2) or it would be better to delete the existing one and create a new one with the two additional fields?
    If the fields are from Segment Tables, it is always better to delete the existing one and Recreate the same
    3) any potential issue to be expected?
    Appending/Enhancing fields are always bit difficult and my lead into errors in future, based on the critical functionality we use.. But I recommend DELETE THE DS AND RECREATE WITH COPA always.Hope it helps

  • How Get JDev to Omit data-sources.xml from every .war deployment

    I want a global data-sources.xml file to be used for all deployments. I do not want a copy of my standard data-sources.xml file to be included in every single deployment. I want my global data-sources.xml file to reside in the standard J2EE location of:
    oc4j_home/oc4j_instance_name/j2ee/config/data-sources.xml
    JDeveloper, for whatever reason, includes a data-sources.xml into every .war file. How do we configure JDev to omit the data-sources.xml? How do we set up JDev to automatically configure the .xml files (orion-application.xml, application.xml, etc) to use the global data-sources.xml? I do not want to manually do this for every deployment.
    I've been trying hard to find the answer in JDev online help and other OAS manuals. I read everywhere that I can have a "global" data-sources.xml, but I find no way to easily configure JDeveloper to do it this way.
    I would be grateful for you insights/help.
    thanks
    -Paul Janda

    I found the answer:
    In JDeveloper, Go to Tools | Preferences
    Select Deployment
    Uncheck the option for "Bundle default data-sources.xml during deployment"
    Upon the next generation of the .ear or .war file (including the next deployment), data-sources.xml will be omitted.

  • Issue while trying to activate Data Source in BW

    Hi,
    One of my Master data process chain is failing in Activation step.
    Error message - "No InfoProvider exists with name "COSTELMNT_0102_HIER".But this is a data source.Also it is present in R3 and when i am trying to activate it since in Data source its showing --"ACTIVE VERSION-does not exist" & .in SE38 while trying to activate using RSDS_DATASOURCE_ACTIVATE_ALL its saying "THERE IS NO DATA SOURCE WITH THESE ATTRIBUTES"
    Although its present in R3 side as well.
    Please help.
    Thanks
    Nilesh Pathak

    Hi,
    Can you tell me which datasource is that?
    If your RSA3 is not giving any records that means that here is no hierarchy defined in source system for that selection.
    For example
    if you are extracting the plant hierarchy from the source system and in BI infopacakge you selected "26" and extracted the data. If there are records available for 26 in the source system then it will bring.
    In your case as you mentioned that there is no data in rsa3 for your selection, then there might be no data mainted in source system. I would recommend you to contanct your functional guys and ask them the hierarchy type in source
    Ex: for customer hierarchy i think its "VDH2N" to check in source. But i am not sure what is your hierarchy datasource.
    thanks

    Hi Amit Garg,
    <data-sources>
    <data-source type = "org.apache.commons.dbcp.BasicDataSource" key = "DBA">
    </data-source>
    <data-sources>
    <data-source type = "org.apache.commons.dbcp.BasicDataSource" key = "AISDEV">
    </data-source>
    </data-sources>
    u just configure ur struts-config.xml file in the above manner and use the following steps in ur action servlet to retrive the DataSource object
    getDatasource(request,"DBA") for accessing first datasource
    getDatasource(request,"AISDEV") for accessing second datasource.
