Bug in Italian translation

I have the 3.0 software and when I open the Calendar, the months' names are not starting with a capital letter (ie I have "settembre" instead of "Settembre", and so on). This happens to the months going from the next one (August 2009) until the end of the year (December 2009), whereas the months from Jan to the current one (July) are fine.
The same happens for the past years (capital letter from Jan to July only).

LR 5.2 RC bug in German translation

I've found in LR 5.2 RC a little bug in the translation to German when importing images. right upper corner in the section for preview rendering (see screenshot).
(I've tried to place this within the feedback.photoshop.com site, but the login never worked, so I'm posting it here. Sorry, if it's not the right place.)

Seems to be a missed translation in the RC version.
As well, translation for the new sliders has not yet been made for th RC version.
You can add it here by yourself: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.2 RC\Resources\de\TranslatedStrings.txt or wait for the release.

Bug report: Russian Translation Messages

There are several incorrectly translated messages. Better translation is below. English original is back-translated, so could be not exact in all cases. Russian text should be replaced.
Mail - Setup - View/Actions (Почта - настройки - отображение и действия) - "удалить подтверждение сообщения" (remove message confirmation) should be "подтверждение удаления сообщения" (confirm message removal)
Blackberry World Setup / General(Общие настройки) - 'Cохранить на карту памяти' (save once to SD card) should be 'Cохранять на карту памяти' (usually save to SD card)
Blackberry World Payment methods - 'Методы оплаты' should be 'Способы оплаты'
Clipboard Select / Select all should be 'Выделить' / 'Выделить все' (as select/highlight), not 'Выбрать' / 'Выбрать все' (as 'choose') phone-wide
SMS is translated as 'Текстовые сообщения' (Text Messages) in Russian. Untranslated 'SMS' or at least 'Сообщения' (messages) is much more common for Russia.
A message after doing a software update check is not correct: 'В настоящее время установлена самая последняя версия ПО' (Latest software version is currently installed) - should be 'В настоящее время установлена последняя доступная версия ПО' (Latest available software version is currently installed)
"Ожидание подключения для передачи данных" message (Waiting for data connection) during set-up doesn't fit the screen, should be wrapped or cut.
"Новый часовой пояс <...> время отправлено" (New timezone... time sent) notification during the initial set-up should be 'время установлено' (time set).

This could be related to another bug reported here recently:
E-mail looses all images if mail server doesn't accept outgoing email...
You cannot count on Apple looking into this or even noticing it if you report it here, so I suggest you the same I suggested in the other thread, i.e. report it in one of the following places:

Bug - Calendar - not translated

Hi,
I am creating an application only in french (fr-ca). This application will be using the calendar region at its full capacity and more I hope!
Here's the situation:
1- set my browser language to french so ApEx will generate the default items using french labels
2- create an application with fr-ca as the primary/unique language
3- create a page with a calendar region based on a SQl query
4- run the application, and do the basic tests... and find out that the calendar buttons (for navigation) are translated but not the titles, months, days, etc...
Possible/Impossible solutions:
Translating the application to fix this is not a solution.
Modifying the calendar template to fix this is not a solution since the untranslated elements came from substitution strings.
I am pretty sure this is bug, can someone from the Apex dev team can help me with this one?

I always thought that No NLS means using the native APEX builder language, Regardless of what the application primary language is.
I have a NLS test instance, and the “about database” utility reports NLS_LANGUAGE=HEBREW and NLS_TERITORY=ISRAEL.
If I’m using the “Use Application Primary Language”, which I set the ‘he’, or “Browser (use browser language preference)”, with a UTF-8 encoding, I’ll get the calendar days in Hebrew, and the debug mode is showing:
0.00: alter session set nls_language="HEBREW"
0.00: alter session set nls_territory="ISRAEL"
However, if I’m using “No NLS (Application not translated)” the calendar days are displayed in English, and the debug mode is showing:
0.01: alter session set nls_language="AMERICAN"
0.01: alter session set nls_territory="AMERICA"
I’m pretty sure this is not coming from the db. I always thought it’s because the native language of the APEX builder.
Am I missing something?

BUG - German localization / Translation of Preference

Hello,
I just tried to find the option to display the line numbers in the code editor. The german preference dialog hides this option in Code-Editor -> Zeilenzwischenraum. Zeilenzwischenraum means line spacing, the space between two lines, while Line Gutter should be translated with Randspalte, meaning a vertical space (column) at one side of the text.

Außenrandbereich is surely better than Zeilenzwischenraum, though it is not specifically a vertical space, more like a frame.
Personally I would prefer Randspalte but both translations are acceptable.

P.S.: Randbereich is synonymous to Außenrandbereich and shorter. A border (Rand) is usually at the outside (Außen), isn't it? :-) Almost a tautology.

I see the issue you are hitting. This acutally has to do with a combination of how Muse works with pinned menu items, and how Google translate is doing the translation. To do the translation, Google pulls down the code for your page beforehand, translates the content, and then passes it off to your browser using its server instead of yours. Because of this, your page is being served from a different server. Now, your web browser, for security reasons, prevents one server from accessing content on another server, but since Google only serves up your text content and not the styles nor JavaScript from their server, your website is now coming from two different places, and certain pieces can't talk to one another. On your page, you have a pinned menu item, for which we use JavaScript to access the styles from it so that we can read in certain values. When we try to access the style, your browser thinks that our code is trying to access items from a different server, and it prevents it from doing so. This is the error you are seeing. Unfortunately, there won't really be a way for us to fix this problem at the moment.

I have Ubuntu 9.10 and I installed adobe reader 8.1.7 with deb file.

I have same problem with spanish version 8.1.7. I have installed from a bz2 package. Also some preferencies doesn't see right.
Adobe Works right in version 8.1.5.
Any advice from Adobe?, is there some patch?.
Any plan to release version 9.x for spanish for linux?

Bug in 4.1.1: Region Title translations is lost

This is my second bug report with translations today.
REGION TITLE TRANSLATIONS IS LOST WITH APEXexport AND APEX_APPLICATION_INSTALL COMBINATION.
My environment:
Oracle XE 11g Linux 64bit.
Apex 4.1.1.
Development app 110.
Production app 111.
en-us - primary lang
es - secondary
ru - secondary
How to reproduce:
Export app 110 with bash command:
$ java oracle.apex.APEXExprt -db xxx.private:1521:XE -user apex_040100 -password `cat secret.txt` -applicationid 110 -skipExportDate -expTranslations
Import with this script (as apex_040100 user)

Thanks for reporting this issue as well.
I filed this as Bug 13801807. I researched this and understand what the issue is. But I need to think carefully about what would be the best solution for it. I'll report back to this thread with an answer.

Bug Italian version iTunes 7.3

Some italian users reported a bug in songs' alphabetical order in iTunes 7.3.
An example:
The Author "Led Zeppelin" follows the author "The Cure" and it's followed by "David Bowie".
The Author "Iggy Pop" is between "George Michael" and "Gianna Nannini".
I think that iTunes does not consider "Led Zeppelin" as an entire word but as a word composed by "Le-d Zeppelin".
The same thing happens with "Iggy Pop", processed by iTunes as "I-ggy Pop".
That's because the italian words "Il" "Le" or "I" are sometimes wrogly considered as the definite article, like “The” in English, and therefore ignored in the alphabetical order.
The author "I Dik Dik" in fact is correctly ordered between "Dire Straits" and "Dido".
Hoping for a Bug Fix.

Yes, great timeliness in relasing an update, thank you.
but the bug isn't fixed at all:
in Italy "i" is an article (plural) and then an english song like "I want more" is sorted as "Want More"
Moreover:
luckily you fixed the bug with italian, french and spanish articles, but unfortunately you've introduced another little bug (maybe just in the italian, french and spanish versions of iTunes 7.3.1): now artists like "The Beatles" are sorted under the letter T, where as in the former versions of iTunes were sorted without the english article.

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. Bug 9888444 has been logged to track this issue. Please note that this issue impacts users running in French, Italian, Japanese and Korean. When you edit a Classic Report column in the Application Builder, the Column Formatting region holds an item "HTML Expression" with an associated shortcut [Insert column value]. When running in French, Italian, Japanese or Korean, when the user clicks on the shortcut link, the popup displays an error "Bad Request". The popup works for all other languages.
We do not recommend that users modify the APEX internal application files. Instead, you can workaround this issue by directly entering column values into the "HTML Expression" text area in the Column Formatting region on the Column Attributes page, similar to the following:
*#EMPNO#*
where EMPNO is a column on your report.

Bug(?) report: Translations not deleted from WWV_FLOW_DYNAMIC_TRANSLATIONS$ on application replacement with importing from sqlplus using apex_application_install package.
My environment:

How to reproduce:
Simple way (not checked for 4.1.1):
Export application 110 by using builder or APEXexport.
Import application 110 ten times, then look into dynamic translation. Each translation repeats 10 times.
Checked way to reproduce this bug in in 4.1.1:
Repeat this 10 times to see how dynamic translations is multiplied in app 111.
Export app 110 with bash command:
$ java oracle.apex.APEXExprt -db xxx.private:1521:XE -user apex_040100 -password `cat secret.txt` -applicationid 110 -skipExportDate -expTranslations

Actually, it's Kallman. But I'm not complaining...I get plenty of emails from within Oracle addressing me as "Joe".
This is definitely a bug. It isn't disastrous, but it's slightly worse than you even presented. I found that if you manually delete an application from within the Application Builder, the dynamic translations remain as well. They could potentially be orphaned forever.
Your workaround, while not recommended to directly manipulate the APEX schema, would clear up the excess data. Also, a way to reduce the effects of this problem is simply to set the offset to what was initially generated the first time you imported application 110 as 111.
I didn't write this logic, but I'll fix it. There isn't a FK on this table and I believe there should be.
Bug 13801751 is filed, to be fixed for APEX 4.2.

"change" pre-release beta button unreachable (Italian Yosemite)

As you can see in the image below the "Change" button in the Italian version of Yosemite OS is impossible to click because of the long italian translation. I want to disable beta pre-release and I can't.
Please help or if anyone know a different command to avoid this problem.

Hello,
I am attempting to demo the Skype Translator by conversing with one of my co-workers. However, when I go to set up the translation options for individual users, the only language I can access for spoken language is English (see photo below)
Is this a bug inside of translator or is there an option that I am not seeing? I downloaded the client this morning, and I'm running windows 8.1, so I don't believe there are any auxiliary programs I have to download. Does my co-worker have to also be included in this translator beta in order for the translator to function? Both myself and my co-worker have tried switching our language settings under 'Profile' to Spanish, however this does not seem to have any correlation to using the translator.

I had the same issue. My family members can speak Spanish but they had their Skype account set to English. I had them change their language on their side to Spanish. Then we both had to completely exit out of Skype and Log back in. Once I did that Spanish was available as a speaking language option on my side. I also had to initiate the call from my side. I have Skype Translate and my family member does not. I also made sure Skype on their side was updated to the latest version of the non-translate version. Good Luck.
