Bug Report: line doubles dashed stroke

Hi,
to reproduce the bug, you have to:
1. create a line with the line tool (I have used a weight of 1px and a lengt of 960px)
2. give it a dashed stroke of the same weigt as the line weight. (1px in my case)
3. Give it a dash and a gap width and set align on inside (4px / 4px in my case)
Now you would expect a line with 4px dashes an 4px gaps, but you get a line with 7px dashes and 1px gaps.
The problem lies in the creation of the stroke.
The 1px stoke is basicly a 1px x 960px rectangle, because of that, the stoke goes all along the inside of the rectangle and creates two strokes on top of each other.
This can be illustrated when you put the alignment of the stroke to outside.
This behavior is fine for boxes, but in the case, where the line weight equals the stroke weight this behavior is a big problem.

Since the line tool actually makes a skinny rectangle, you might try using the pen tool in shape mode to create a dashed line that will render as expected.
If you select no fill, dashed stroke of selected color, 4 dash, 4 gap (similar to your example above) in the stroke options>more options, you will create a dashed line with equal spacing.
Will that work for you?

    Log Message:
    Line bug fixes when using gradient strokes
    SDK-21272 - Lines with gradient (LinearGradientStroke) draw as solid color if perfectly vertical / horizontal
    StrokedElement was not taking the stroke weight into account when passing the bounds to the stroke. The gradient strokes rely on the bounds to help them transform the gradient to fit the shape of the stroke.
    SDK-21274 - Line with gradient stroke does not draw properly
    This bug occurs when the Line has a non-zero x and/or y values and is sharing a DisplayObject. StrokedElement was passing the stroke the measuredX and measuredY position as part of the bounds. Instead, I've changed it to pass in drawX + measuredX and drawY + measuredY which accounts for the drawing offset position.

    This bug figures out also when creating a custom spark ComboBox, then trying to programatically update the userProposedSelectedIndex property. The proposed selected index is selected, but does not apply the same skin as when mouse is on rollover or item is selected due to up and down keys.
    The issue seems like updating the status of the item renderer to rollover or selected to get the same skin applied.

  • Solaris 9 x86 bug report - el_GR.ISO8859-7 & CDE

    I'm posting this article here, because I can't find any official Solaris 9 x86 bug report page. I hope the developers will notice it. I'm using Solaris 9 x86 (12/02), with the latest 9_x86_Recommended patch cluster installed, and support for Greek installed too.
    It seems there is some kind of problem, when trying to view text files with Greek (el_GR.ISO8859-7) characters, which were created under Windows. To be more specific:
    If I boot at CDE with language el_GR.ISO8859-7, and try to view a .txt file (just with a simple double click), which I have created under Windows, with Greek characters,
    the screen goes black, and the CDE login screen appears again (restarts). If I keep the Greek language or change the language to US English, I can boot at CDE again, with
    no problems. If I try "command line logging", the screen goes off - just like when the computer is powered off, and I can't do anything, (well, except pressing the reset button, that's the sure way). And if I use the "init 6" command, while being logged at CDE, from a terminal, the Graphical Desktop exits, and then, the screen goes off again (just like the computer is powered off), but finally the computer manages to restart.
    I'm using the Sun X server, NOT the XFree86 porting kit and I use the entry

  • BUG REPORT: Layers with 100% height in timeline knock bottommost layer(s) out of scrollable area

    I have tried to post this twice to the official bug report page, but (somewhat hilariously) the bug report page bounces it back with an internal error about an unknown email address, so I'm posting here too just in case. As I have no idea how to report a bug about the bug report page, I decided I might as well just post the bug here.
    CS5.5/Windows 7 - Verified on 6 different machines, some 64 bit, some 32 bit
    If I have a layer in the timeline that has been expanded to 200% or 300% (via Layer Properties) height, the bottom-most layers gets pushed outside of the viewable area. The scrollbars simply don't scroll that far. I double-checked and this is new since CS4--which still works correctly--so never let it be said that the engineers aren't working on the code! :-/
    Basically, I use this for audio layers, as it is nice to expand them to 200% so it's easier to see the waveform and guess where certain words are ending, etc when doing timeline syncing.
    It can be worked around by expanding the timeline to be tall enough to bring everything into view, so I suspect the bug lies in the scrollable area calculation. However, since space is at a premium, usually I only have about 5-6 layers worth of space allocated to the timeline panel, so this bug hits me quite frequently (since I have all my old projects set up with 200% audio tracks).

    I have the same soundcard (or at least the same modules loaded) and I'm getting good volume.
    Things to check:
    If you have the pcm and main volume all the way up in alsa mixer that should be it.  You may have to adjust the volume separately if you use esd, arts, pulse, or jack (I don't use them).
    Another thing to test is to make sure your using alsa not oss, and you may want to raise the oss level and see what happens.
    The final thing is you want to check to see which sound device the audio programs are using (usually found in the preferences).
    If none of that works, then you're out of luck.  It would help if you post what sound programs you are using and what sound daemons you are using.
    Here is my Daemons line from /etc/rc.conf
    DAEMONS=(@syslog-ng @network @netfs @crond @alsa @hal @fam)
    So i would think im using alsa not oss.  but how would i go about raising the oss to make sure?  there is no "oss" option in alsamixer.  I have tried just abuot every audio progream there is and even firefox, all of them produce about half of the maximum volume level.

  • Confused after reading bug report

    Hello,
    I'm working on a desktop application which utilizes the system tray. I have an icon set with a popup menu that is triggered when the user left-clicks on the icon. Originally I was using java.awt.PopupMenu but then came across javax.swing.JPopupMenu which looks a little nicer and has support for icons. For the most part it works great. However I noticed that when the user triggers the popup menu more than once (i.e. the user left-clicks the tray icon twice or more times), a ClassCastException is thrown. After doing a bit of searching, I came across [this bug report|http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6583251] and many others describing the issue I was having.
    According to the report, the evaluation is:
    Everything is clear
    we shouldn't cast mouseEvent.getSource() to Component without checkingUnfortunately this still leaves me a little confused. I mean, it does sort of let me know where the problem is happening (in the MouseListener portion of my Tray Menu where I am trying to detect the popup trigger), but I don't understand if this means that there is a way to prevent this from happening or not.
    In other words, I think the bug is coming from this block of code (correct me if I am mistaken):
    public void mouseReleased(MouseEvent e) {
              if ( e.isPopupTrigger() ) {
                   this.setLocation( e.getX(), e.getY() );
                   this.setInvoker( this );
                   this.setVisible( true );
         }Where e is apparently being casted to a Component, thus causing the error. Now, why this error occurs when the user clicks twice or more on the icon, I don't really understand. Ultimately, my question is: Is there any other way this can be written to prevent the error?
    One solution would be to simply use java.awt.PopupMenu, but I want to make sure there isn't a better solution first as JPopupMenu looks much nicer.. but if I have no other option, I will of course substitute looks for function.
    Any clarification would be greatly appreciated.
    (Apologies if this is the wrong forum. I was originally going to post this in the Swing forum, but the error actually cites AWT, yet I'm using a Swing component.. so I figured the Java Programming forum would be alright. Well, please feel free to move it if necessary.)

    The exception stack trace tells you where the exception is being thrown from. It certainly isn't from that code, because there are no class casts of any kind there, let alone casts of e.getSource() to Component.Hi ejp, thank you for the response. My apologies.. I only assumed that e.isPopupTrigger() was throwing the exception because the bug report mentioned mouse events, and the stack trace doesn't specify where the error is within my code (e.g. the line, method, or even which class is throwing the error that I've written, though it does cite other Java classes not written by me). The e.getSource() in actionPerformed() was my next guess because that and the MouseListener are the only two places where I am detecting events. Nevertheless, I still don't believe that I am using casting, so I'm not sure how to fix this.

    Again, any help is appreciated. Thanks again, ejp!

  • Bug report: 3.2; DAC; GridControl; Navigation - Invalid reaction to mouse drag

    Hi,
    This is a bug report, I think.
    I have a one-column GridControl with mandatory column. Normally, DAC framework prohibits from navigation out of empty field and emits one of those DAC-1002 or DAC-603 errors. The only exception I noticed was a double-click on another row. In this case navigation allowed but an error is still produced.
    Today I was playing with this GridControl and discovered that I can drag the yellow frame across rows. And here comes a bug - GridControl doesn't change the current row on InfoBus according to current selection marked by yellow frame.
    In my case it brings the following problem: if the cursor is placed on the new empty row, user drags the cursor to another row and then tries to use any other navigation means except dragging, he gets a navigation error. DAC framework still thinks that the current row is the empty one and produces an error telling that the attribute cannot be empty.
    Dev Team, any comments?
    Regards,
    Vladimir

    Hmm... Nobody answers. I'll try another variation of the same question.
    DAC framework implicitly validates attributes on the base of Mandatory constraint in the Entity Object definition. Is it possible to set the level of this validation? For example, I want to conduct validation only when user navigates out of the row or the whole rowset, but not when he just leaves a field.
    Regards,
    Vladimir

    BUG REPORT FIRMWARE 5.1.7  PLEASE FORWARD TO SUPERVISOR.
    The spa-3102 has the following two bugs.
    When the unit sends a hook-flash to the fxo port it:
    a)      does not send the hook flash to the fxo port  for PSTN Hook Flash Len:  Instead it uses a very short pulse of about 100ms or 1/10 of a second.  It should honor the PSTN Hook Flash Len configurable parameter of .2 – 1.5 seconds.
    b)      Does not change the line voltage from –7 (off-hook) to –48(on-hook) during a flash-hook to the fxo port.  Instead it varies the voltage only by about 2.5 volts.
    This was reported as early as June 07 to linksys support.  It is reported they agreed and would fix in the next firmware release.  There is info that firmware 5.2 being released and is this fix in 5.2 and how can I get it.

    Although the problem is still not solved, at least I now know WHY the problem is happening... and Apple's Firmware Update is NOT to blame!
    Through a series of coincidences, I was actually lucky enough to get in touch with the engineers in Apple's Airport firmware division, and they were helping me to nail down this problem.
    Turns out that Apple takes great PRIDE in the fact that they are one of the VERY FEW manufacturers who make routers that behave properly in this regards: they SPECIFICALLY test for their Airport Extreme routers to allow you to connect to servers behind the NAT by way of the public WAN IP address of the NAT box. This is the way that apparently the NAT/DHCP specification is SUPPOSED TO WORK! You're SUPPOSED to be able to connect this way, if you so desire.
    So what was causing the problem on my network, then?
    Something I hadn't thought about... the Vonage Linksys RTP300 router that we're using for our Vonage VoIP service. Turns out that this router does NOT support clients behind the NAT connecting to servers behind the NAT by way of the public WAN IP address.
    Linksys is to blame, not Apple!
    And apparently, this feature may have actually been working in an earlier
    firmware update, but apparently, Vonage AUTOMATICALLY pushes firmware
    updates to RTP300's, apparently without user notification:
    <http://www.vonage.com/help.php?article=1066&category=90&nav=5>
    And a forum thread on vonage-forums.com seems to indicate that the 1.00.60 firmware in the RTP300 started getting pushed to customer units on or before 1/26/06, making it less than a month after Apple shipped the 5.7 firmware update for AirPort Extreme Base Stations:
    <http://www.vonage-forum.com/ftopic10915.html>. So if the problem cropped up then, it's possible that I accidentally attributed it to Apple when really the RTP300 got a firmware update around then too which may have broken this feature (assuming it was working before then).

    When creating a simple HTML Snippet in a page it seems that the piece of code that refers to the newly created widget in the .html for the page has a bug in it. For example, I have a page on my website called "Animation"; it has a simple HTML Snippet the code for which has been tested (by viewing the file widget0_markup.html in a browser). In Animation.html the following line appears
    <iframe id="widget0-frame" src=".//Animationfiles/widget0markup.html" frameborder="0" style="width: 100%; height: 100%;" scrolling="no" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" allowTransparency="true"></iframe>
    Surely the pathname in the "src" option is in error (what the **** is .//?). If I change it to ./ by hand then everything works. Please change this asap, because at the moment I have to go into every page and change it by hand after publishing.
    Many thanks, Marvin.

    Thanks for the reply, but I'm afraid that I'm not convinced.
    In all the flavours of unix that I've ever used ./ is the current directory, ../ is the parent directory and ../../ is the grandparent directory (not .// as you suggest). In any case, the path name of source file in question is ./Animationfiles/widget0markup.html (assuming the code in question is in the file Animation.html) and so going up the tree into the grandparent directory is not what you want to do anyway; the directory Animation_files is always in the same directory as Animation.html and the file widget0_markup.html is saved, by iWeb upon publication, in the directory ./Animation_files.
    In short, I still think it's a bug, but thanks for the advice; I apologise if I am wrong.
    Marvin.

  • Bug Report - Some items in your iTunes Library ... because the file could not be found.

    10.6 and this is still this is a problem?!?!?!?!
    Not like this is an obscure issue only affecting a few noobs. Google returns 11,200 results on this issue!t'
    Can we PLEASE at least allow the list of broken files to be dumped as a text file so I can find them manually! guess not,
    I'll just have to get out a pencil and write down 100 songs to spend my saturday looking up and fixing. Or I could let my wife purchase 100 songs she already has whenever this comes up...
    What's really infurating is that non-technical wife thinks this means she must go to the iTunes store and buy them again.  Is it just coincidence that this only happens to songs that we ripped from the CD with iTunes? Hmmmm?....
    what follows is for the programmers, please make sure this get's to the development group.
    iTunes is the only music library manager, Media player was not even activated.
    iTunes is configured to "Keep folder organized", "Copy files to folder when adding"
    this has been a recurring issue since iTunes 9.x for us
    The issue is persisted accross system and library rebuilds.
    some of the same songs recurr but most of the time the list differs.
    Library survived transfer to new computer and back for a system rebuild (new hdd) w/o this issue.
    I'm guessing 100 songs is an arbitrary limit for error reporting.
    Songs seem to get lost for the following reasons.
    Track number added to filename
    Spelling of some tags like Album, Artist, Title differ in iTunes library and the file path !!!!
    Only seems to happen to mp3 files.
    My suspicion is that iTunes is downloading meta data from the store and updating the mp3 tags and iTunes Music Library.xml then predicting the new file location without actually moving the file to that new location. I've enabled insert/update auditing on the NTFS folder to see if that provided any new info.  I'm also capturing iTunes Music Library.xml so I can compare it to the new one WHEN this happens again and see if there is a pattern there.
    Would love a bug number and feedback chanel on this.

    The missing file thing happens when files are no longer where iTunes expects to find them. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the files, or that the drive they live on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout, or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
    Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions.
    Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files in a relatively sensible structure, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes .
    Although you say you haven't used Media Player it can be raised as a background process by visiting enabled web sites. Possibly worth you reviewing this post: Getting iTunes & Windows Media Player to play nicely

    Unlike Windows Media player iTunes doesn't have a feature to automatically update tag data, although it will sometimes spot when a 3rd party program has (say during playback) and then update its own copy of the data. The iTunes (Music) Library xml file is provided for querying by third party software and is rewritten every time there is a change to the library, but is otherwise of no relevance to iTunes. The library is maintained in the iTunes Library.itl file. I suppose what could be happening is that iTunes issues a command to the file system to move a file based upon its tag, updates its knowledge of where the file is supposed to be, but the OS fails to move the file for some reason. Alternatively everything could go as planned, but iTunes could fail to get the updated copy of the library written out to disk so next time you start you get the previously stored locations.
    I have ideas of my own about the best way to organise my media, but I'm quite familiar with the way iTunes does it. It might be interesting to see the details of one of the broken tracks, the path iTunes thinks it is at, and the actual path, in case there is anything that can be deduced.
    Apple don't run an open bug tracking system so you won't be able to follow reports/progress based on a bug number. You can drop a line to iTunes Feedback or get a free Apple Developer account and submit a bug report report there.

  • Wish list and bug reports?

    In my short acquaintance with xcelsius 2008 (fix pack 2 now) I have come across a number of bugs (not saying how big a number...) and come up with a number of new features suggestions which I consider crucial (sure, maybe noone else does) but I don't know of an offical repository for the above.
    Is there an official bug reporting tool for xcelsius? Where do I go and whige about feature omissions or suggest new ones please?
    THanks a lot
    c

    Wow, that's a real Christmas list. Some of the things you questioned others will have to answer as I've no experience with them, I don't use Pandora or have a Mac. I did check out the website you listed, the site loads just fine, the quicktime movies do not load nor run because you need the quicktime player and it's not compatible with the PB. I doubt if Apple is concerned about this :-).
    As for deleting the music file, go to AppWorld and download the AIR Browser (or other file manger of your choice), it's free, it lets you do almost everything, similar to Windows Explorer, select the file and nuke it. On the languages, it does change the keyboard and if you press and hold a letter that needs a special character that special character will show up in blue, tap it to use it, EX, in Spanish the N will have the Tilde over it. I did have the clicking on the keyboard go away once, did a restart and it's worked ever since. As for removing an App, go to. I just deleted Hotmail and Yahoo mail and it's been about 15 minutes and they've not come back so not sure about slacker. After you deleted them did you click the little check mark on the left in the menu bar to get out of and save the deletion? Some of the other things you mention like Auto Capitalize the first letter needs to be fixed and I bet you see them fixed in V2. It ain't perfect but I love it still. You might get better responses to an issue by listing only one per post and putting it in the subject line, then someone who is familiar with that issue will be more likely to see it and respond. Also check the previous posts and knowledge base for answers to a lot of questions. Hope this helps

  • Bug Report: Probable Cause of Stuttering in iTunes v7.0.2.16 -- Crossfade

    Has anyone ever tried to send a bug report into Apple? I've looked all over and can't find anything that would let me send in a bug report.
    I think I have tracked down one of the issues with stuttering in iTunes v7.0.2.16 Its in the crossfading in the play back options. If I disable crossfading, gone is the stuttering and cpu hogging at the start of a track. The length of the stuttering, how far it goes into the next track, is the length of the crossfade. Also, has anybody else noticed that with the stuttering comes a maxing out of the CPU? While typing this my computer will go unresponsive when iTunes starts a new track and stutters and I can watch the CPU Usage History spike during the attempted crossfade.
    I hope that Apple finds this and it is a help in fixing the issue as I really do like iTunes. And if anyone knows how to send this on to Apple as a proper bug report, just post a comment letting me know and I will do it.
    And lastly, any comments showing the reproduction of this evidence would probably be helpful to Apple in resolving this issue.

    Okay Chris...
    I've double and triple checked all of the bullet points in your troublshooter document, and all is in good order.
    I found that my Direct X was out of date, and got excited when I upgraded it and started playing tunes. For about 5 or six tracks, there was not any skipping during the crossfade, but alas, the problem is still there, and still garbles the tunes at the very end and release of the crossfade.
    Not ALL tunes, just a certain intermitant few.
    FYI, this bug was never an issue until v7.0 was released. Crossfading in previous versions was not a problem, until now. So there must have been something that has changed, from the previous to this release, and my assumption is the gapless playback. Just a guess, as it is new.
    Any other thoughts as to the cause? And beter yet... the solution?
    I sincerely would like to keep using iTunes as my default music player...

  • Publicly accessible bug reporting & serious UI updates

    If Adobe want to make Livecycle a serious platform for developers, then why not open up the bug reporting database the same as has been done with Flash Builder / SDK, Coldfusion, etc? http://bugs.adobe.com/. Most Livecycle devs can navigate themselves around Jira and responsibly search for or log a bug or feature request.
    And at the same time get some people from the Photoshop / Flash Builder IDE UI team to work on Workbench and Designer. The UI's are in desperate need of updates to bring them in line with the current UI's that Adobe provide. Designer looks and feels like it has been left in last decade somewhere compared to Photoshop or Flash Builder.

    Chaosmachine,
    Emu does not have any official forums. I will take a look into this to see if there is anything I can suggest. You can also contact their tech support through their web page, www.emu.com.

  • Zsh modutils completion (solved & bug report)

    Hi,
    Since last zsh update, I can't get 'modinfo' & 'modprobe' completion, only 'rmmod' & 'modprobe -r' are working actually (easy with '/proc/modules'). It seems that a new caching algorithm was implemented in the last version but I don't understand it . Diff with zsh 4.3.11 _modutils :

    Wow, thanks it works, but there's a problem, modules appears with *.ko suffix so
    modules=( $modules_dir/$kver/(*~(source|build))/**/*.(o|ko|ko.gz)(.:t:r:r) )
    is even better .
    taken from http://zsh.sourceforge.net/Guide/zshguide05.html :
    print ${p:t:r}
    will work for both arrays and scalars: the :t takes only the tail of the filename, stripping the directories, and the :r removes the suffix. These two operators could have slightly unexpected effects in versions of zsh before 4.0.1, removing `suffixes' which contained directory paths, for example (though this is what the pattern forms taken separately do, too).
