Bug with big Black Pixel on Photoshop CC

Hi,
I recently install Photoshop CC (iMac 2,8 Ghz Intel Core i5, 16Go 1333 Mhz DDR33, Mavericks)
When using different layers, I have a HUGE BLACK PIXEL coming on the picture (365x365px) , often on the low lef corner.
It disapears when I strongly zoom inside but it comes back when I zoom out...
Any idea please ????

Many thx Mylenium,
it seems to be working right now without OpenCL... I also had a bug with zoom in and zoom out but it seems to be ok too...
I hope it will continue..
(I use to work on heavy pictures with many layers, hope everything will not be too slow without OpenCL)

  • IMovie is outputting my movie with big black bars at top and bottom that I don't want

    Quicktime: Ver 10.3
    iMovie: Ver 10.0.5
    OS: OS X Ver 10.9.4
So, let me try and explain...
I have recorded gameplay footage of my game directly from my Mac screen using Quicktime's Record Screen option. I've tried recording both in fullscreen mode (with my game also running in fullscreen mode) and a section of the screen by dragging the mouse to select a 640X960 box (with my game running in windowed mode which is displayed at 640x960 resolution).
This initial recording direct from the screen displays fine, both when I view it in windowed mode and when I view it fullscreen, with the height of the game stretching to the full height of the video area but obviously with big black borders to either side in fullscreen mode (as it's basically iPhone ratio in portrait mode).
    WindowedFullscreen
This ^^^ is how they should look.
The problem is when I try to import the movie into iMovie, mess around with some fade-ins and music and stuff and then output the edited movie via iMovie...
When I then try to view this outputted movie in windowed mode on certain sites (Kickstarter) my game footage doesn't take up the full height of the video and instead floats in the middle with big black bars at the top and bottom, which I don't want. It's fine when I go fullscreen but the problem is that when I load this video into Kickstarter it shows the non-fullscreen view of the video with this big black border and it looks really amateur.
This is what Kickstarter shows in windowed mode i.e. the way you see Kickstarter videos by default when you press Play; unless I go fullscreen and then it takes up the full heigh of the view.
Note: Windowed mode actually looks fine when viewed directly on my Mac but I know it's not Kickstarter that is causing the issue because I can see in the thumbnail preview on my Mac that the video is somehow encoded with the big black bars at the top and bottom. Also, I uploaded the unedited videos to Kickstarter just to check and they display fine. So it's definitely iMovie that is adding these annoying black borders at the top and bottom for whatever reason (and I'm not intentionally scaling the video down in iMove or anything like that as far as I know). I also can't use the unedited footage however because it has no sound and no transitions etc.
Does anyone know what night be causing this and how to get rid of it.

You are lucky to see anything - iMovie 5 is not really compatible with Snow Leopard, which only supports iMovie 6 and above.
Snow Leopard only runs on Intel Macs. iMovie 5 was never written, AFAIK, for Intel, just for the PPC Macs they had in those old days!

  • ITunes 7.0.2 upgrade left me with big black screen in the Movies folder?!?!

Hi - new iMac, all exciting, and the upgrade let me upgrade this Mac's iTunes as well. Sadly... the Movies folder is just a huge black screen, and won't let me drag any new Movies into it.
    The huh?
If anyone can help... I'm beyond grateful. I need some movies in here!!
    iMac   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Well, I am an idiot, it turns out, but I will post this in case anyone else ever sees this and thinks they have this problem.
Knowing that they played in Quicktime, I used Handbrake Lite
    http://www.isquint.org/handbrakelite/
    (genius!)
to rip another little one, and when that was done, out of boredom, tried again to drag it in. For some reason, this time it worked. Did the same thing, same file, no idea why this time it was okay.
Of course, then I realized that I was seeing a big black square because I was in icon view (the middle of the three options). I dragged in every other movie, and they are all fine.
Thank you, thank you, though, Apple for having this forum, and Converted2Mac for your fantastic (and REALLY QUICK!) responses. This is why Macs are the best!!!

  • Snow leopard bug with iweb black template

I installed Snow Leopard this weekend. When I went to add content to my website this am, I found that all my pages and entries on the black templates were unreadable. The fonts were ultra condensed so that letters and words were superimposed. I was able to fix them by reselecting the fonts. Just one more thing in my Vista-like Event Horizon involving Safari, Mail, all my fonts, two restores from time machine and an uninstall and then reinstall of my HP printer despite SLs dire warning of the consequences.

Delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder, repair disk permissions, reboot, launch iWeb and republish the site. See if that will make any changes. The black theme works for me in myTestPage .
Can you give us the URL so we can examine it first hand?

  • OpenGL bug with Snow Leopard in Photoshop CS4? distorted pixels

    Hi all,
Has anyone encountered this bug before? If I open any image or start a new document and hit F to change screen mode I am plagued with random purple pixels with more being displayed as I make the document bigger (see attached screenshots).
However if I turn off OpenGL support, the problem completely disappears. This problem never occured with OS X 10.5.
    Macbook Pro Unibody
    2.93 GHZ

    OSX 10.6.1

Yes, we have a handful of bugs filed with Apple about similar issues introduced in MacOS 10.6.
We're all waiting for Apple to release the fixes.

  • Bug with selection tool in Photoshop CS

    Hi there,
I find a bug with photoshop.
I work on video editing, so I usually create some image with not square pixel. In DV for exemple, we use 1,066 pixel ratio.
So I create a layer in full screen for DV editing (720*576 pixels for PAL in Europe) with 1,066 pixel ratio.
If I want to delete a area with 720*576 ratio, I use the selection tool and I select (keep the ratio 720*576) ... but the area wich I delete Is not really the correct ratio 720*576 !! Because, If I create a layer with the object tool (create a rectangle) with the correct ratio 720*576, It isn't the same shape as my old area.
    So I think there is a bug ... isn't it ?
PS : sorry for my english, but I'm french.

I have test this problem with a friend on a CS3 version.
There is the same problem !
But we don't have the CS4 ... anybody want to test this ?

  • Strange black pixels appearing in photoshop but not in bridge, help?

First Photo is viewed in Adobe Bridge (Print Screen Image)
Second Photo is viewed in Photoshop (Print Screen Image)
Third Photo is saved as JPEG in Photoshop (Print Screen Image) - Notice no strange black pixels
Sorry there's no consistency in crop but why am I seeing these strange black pixels and why do they disappear when saved as jpeg  or same photo viewed in different viewing software? Please help.
Thanks in advance for all your time and understanding.

  • Weird start up 1/4 of the screen with big pixels

Before loading the screen in wich you pick the user, a 1/4 of the screen show you big pixels as if there was a major crash on the system but then after a few seconds goes away back normal -.-

Retina display support has been around in Flash Player for a long time at this point, and this issue is not reproducing for me on my retina macbook pro with either the generally available or ESR version of Firefox.  This really sounds like an issue with GPU drivers, and it's probably specific to the particular model that you're using.
You can verify this by temporarily disabling hardware acceleration.  It's described in the troubleshooting guide, here: Video playback issues
If disabling hardware acceleration fixes it temporarily, please follow the directions in the troubleshooting guide about copying and posting the relevant system info. I'll try and hunt down an equivalent machine and get someone to triage it.  It will probably mean that we just end up filing a bug with Apple on the issue and/or blacklisting that particular driver/card combo until a patch is available, but we're happy to do that.
Also, not all YouTube videos are encoded the same way.  A direct link to a video that demonstrates the problem (and any specifics, like quality settings or full-screen vs. embedded) would be helpful.  I'm definitely not seeing this on the handful of videos I sampled, and this machine is my daily driver...
Out of curiosity, does it reproduce both when the machine is plugged in and on battery?  Some of the machines have two graphics chipsets, and switch to the lower powered ones when on battery.

  • Adobe Photoshop CC, problem with color noise/pixelation on the monitor display

After downloading Adobe Photoshop CC, my images come in with color noise/pixelation on the monitor display. I've tried checking the color space preferences, but this doesn't help. I didn't have this problem before. Is there anything else I can check? There's no problem with LR, just Photoshop.

My performance settings are: Available RAM 10905 MB/using 7633 MG (70 percent); cache levels 4, history 20, cache tile size 1024K. However, I noticed under Graphics processer settings, it is set on Advanced Drawing Mode - perhaps this should be changed to Normal or Basic Mode? Your help is very much appreciated.

  • When trying to edit a photo, it disappears (black screen) or screen is full of lines. Is this a bug with the latest software update?

After updating with the latest software, when trying to edit a photo, it disappears (black screen) or screen is full of lines. If I blindly crop or edit the photo, when I exit edit mode, those changes have been made, but obviously this is unacceptable. Is this a bug with the latest software update?

There are several possible causes for the Black Screen issue
    1. Permissions in the Library: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to check and repair permissions.
    2. Minor Database corruption: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.
    3. A Damaged Photo: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and right click on it. From the resulting menu select 'Show File (or 'Show Original File' if that's available). (On iPhoto 11 this option is under the File -> Reveal in Finder.) Will the file open in Preview? If not then the file is damaged. Time to restore from your back up.
    4. A corrupted iPhoto Cache: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto folder from HD/Users/Your Name/ Library/ Caches...
    5. A corrupted preference file: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
If none of these help: As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

  • When I drag or copy a selection from Photoshop 8.0 into Powerpoint the selection always appears in Powerpoint with a black background.

When I drag or copy a selection from Photoshop 8.0 into Powerpoint the selection always appears in Powerpoint with a black background.. How can I prevent this?

Photoshop doesn't have a way of copying a selection, only the contents of that selection. You can save and load selections, but these are really just channels. As such, selections are essentially just black and white information. So I'm not sure what you are seeing in Photoshop when you make your copy, but PowerPoint should just get the information that you see. Screen shots of both Photoshop and PowerPoint may help though.
