Build cancelled

I am having trouble with a build on a small disc, the 1.47 gig. I have a project that is less than one gig and it refuses to burn to disc because the bit rate is too high. Get this, the same project, with one of the assets at larger bit rate that I have compressed, compressed, compressed, compressed,... and now, with a lower bit rate I am getting the message that the bit rate is too high. I deleted all assets, unchecked other countrys and still nothing. Help. Is DVD Pro stuck on a higher bit rate. How do I rebute dvdsp or get it to read the actual bit rate.

I may be wrong, but like Final cut, if you make setting changes, they do not take effect on existing imported files. You can try deleting the files in the MPEG folder and the PAR files. and then re import the files. don't know if this will help, but give it a try.

    Please help.
i get this error when trying to burn dvd:
Language codes for 'English' and 'English-2' must differ
    Build cancelled
I've searched the web and found this question elsewhere but without any answers of how to fix it. The only thing im doing differently to normal is using a dual dvd instead of a single layer.
    quad G5   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Which version of DVD SP are you using and whici one is your friend using? Also which OS?
High bit rates, corrupted assets, improper marker placement and gaps in tracks can cause issues and I have had projects that would not build in one version of DVD SP but would build in another (and usually the one that would not build was "right" actually in terms of having a good DVD.)
    Could also be corrupted preferences.

  • Build Cancelled due to Language Code

My build is canceling during the initial compiler phase stating " Language cods for 'English' and 'English-2' must differ "
    Please advise!

Is there a "language code virus" on the loose?
This has been answered several times the last few days.
Look in the outline tab, You will find that you have two language flags set to the same language. Delete the second one, or if you are actually using two languages - change the language for flag nr. 2.

  • RKE_ANALYSE_COPA build cancels

    Hello experts,
I tried to build RKE_ANALYSE_COPA program in the background. However, the job gets canceled with the message 'Specify a start time'. I cannot run in the foreground, since it will time out. Have you come across this issue? Any idea, what am I doing wrong?
    Thanks for your time.

    HI,
don't know if you have seen SAPNET note 537474, it throws some light on this analysis program.

  • Building to loop short video - but it cancelled

    Hi,
I'm brand new to DVDSP -- using the software provided by work. I do not have a manual.
I would like to take my compressed FCP files that are .m2v + .aiff and put them into dvdsp so that the video (totalling less than 15 mins) will play continuously on a computer.
I followed the instrux on an apple page to do this in DVDSP, and even simulated it and let it run through once to see if it would keep on playing -- and it did.
I congratulated myself for a job well followed, put a dvd in to burn the thing, and thought I was home free until I saw that the build was cancelled. "Building was not successful. See log."
I see the log but can't for the life of me figure out what the heck to do.
For anyone with some time to kill -- here's what the log says:
    Starting DVD Build PROFBLUE_LOOPED...

    Precompiling Project PROFBLUE_LOOPED
    Compiling VMG Information...

Do any of youse all have ideas as to what I can try to do in order to burn the thing for more better and enjoyable looping lifestyle?
    Thanking you in advance,
    As Always,
    HeirBetty

*I'm brand new to DVDSP -- using the software provided by work.*
I'm not certain why you don't have the manual if you are using it at work.
What were your sequence settings in FCP and what encode settings did you use in Compressor?

  • DVDSP Build and Burn Error message

I am new to DVD Studio Pro and came across a problem during the build and burn process.
When I try to build/format or build, I get an error message that says:
Language codes for "English" and "English-2" must differ. Build cancelled.
I am not sure what to do. Does any one know what this means?
    Thanks

You made another language by mistake. Go to to the bottom of the outline and delete "English-2" and re-build.

  • Formatting Failed. Building not successful. See log.

I keep getting a 'Formatting Failed. Building not successful. See log.' error every time I try to burn a project.
I created the movie using Final Cut Pro, exported it to Compressor, and then submitting it using the DVD: Best Quality 120 minutes preset. I got 2 files, an m2v and an ac3 file which I assume is the video and the audio. I imported it to DVDSP as assets and then inserted a blank DVD ready to burn and I get that error when I try to burn.
I tried burning several times and getting the same error. First time using Final Cut Studio.
    FYI: It's a 1h and 43 minutes video.

I am having exactly the same problem, which suddenly started happening. I have been successfully authoring DVD projects with DVD Studio Pro for about 2 years, so I know how to set up projects and output them properly. When I select "Burn" I get a failure message during the build process which tells me nothing other than the fact that that the build failed. To determine if the optical drive was faulty I checked playback of DVDs and data burning to a blank DVD from the Mac OS and both worked fine. Then I tried doing a separate Build and Format and that worked as well. But, I cannot seem to do the one step Burn that I have done dozens of time before. I can't imagine that this has any relationship to the problem, but I recently replaced the 750 GB Media Drive with three 1 TB drives, set up as a RAID, but did not touch the 750 GB Boot Drive. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

I am on a Mac Pro (Nehalen). I am using DVD Studio Pro from Studio 2. I recently upgraded to Snow Leopard and could not build my DVD since upgrade. I get the following error message:

"hmmm, did you relink the template from a new location, or did you put it in the same location and then relink it" What do you mean by relinking? I did put it into the same directory. When I bring DVD SP up without loading this project, I have the menus and can double click on the menus to to bring it up in the viewer. At this point, I think I should try to do a new project to see if this error repeats itself. As long as I can build and burn on my Mac Book Pro, I am OK. Is it possible that the file itself became corrupted somehow? Just a thought. Thank you for your help.

  • Bit rate too high DVDSP, build stops.

DVD Studio Pro used to be DVD Maestro from Discreet, but I was thinking since Apple bought it long ago, it would have a forum.  I searched for DVD and DVDSP and only came up with this forum.
If anybody in here uses DVDSP and if you know the solution I would appreciate help with this.
Upon building this, I did lower the bit rate to a lower size after getting the error message.
As of now I have the BR between 4.2 and 5.2 as the max br.
I'm concerned if I lower it anymore it will start looking like a pixelated mess.  Does anybody know how low you can take the rate and still have a good looking project?
The project was taped in HDV.  However I encoded it using compressor so I don't think it's an HD file anymore that DVDSP can't read. In the settings you'll see "SD".
I'm using DVD Studio Pro 4.
The settings I used for compressor were:

  • Installed Snow Leopard, now DVD Studio Pro won't build or burn a DVD

    Hi,
I eagerly upgraded from Tiger to Snow Leopard, but since installation when I go to burn a DVD with DVD Studio Pro, immediately it gives me this error message:
    Compiler File Error
    Build Cancelled.
I am using Final Cut Studio 2 with DVDSP v 4.2.1
    Advice? Thanks.

  • Build Error Message "Compiler File Error"

Whenever i try to burn a DVD in DVD studio pro i get this error message:
    "Starting DVD Build UNTITLED_DISC...
    Compiler File Error
    Build cancelled
    Formatting finished.
Building was not successful. See log."
This occurs no matter how big my project is, how many files i use, or what format. I thought originally the video files i were using to burn were corrupted, but i have since tried many different video files and many different formats. This message continues to come up. I have even reinstalled DVD Studio Pro and nothing has changed.
I don't have any clue what's causing this message or how to fix it???
I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE THE HELP! THANK YOU!

  • Project gets stuck at 42% during Build

I'm trying to build my project and it gets stuck at 42% every time I do it. The project all runs fine in the simulator. On my first attempt made it to like 68% and then the build canceled because of incorrect video file format on two pieces of video (they were QuickTime Movies). I've changed all my video to MPEG-2 and now it gets stuck at 42%. Should I be using Build and Format? instead of just Build?
I'm using DVD SP3 on a Mac G5 OS 10.4.2. I have the project file on my hard drive and the elements folder on an external drive. I was told this is the way to go. I created a new folder with name of DVD and attempted to build to that folder. Do all folders, elements and main project document have to be on same drive?? Help please. Thanks.
    Terry

Here's the weird thing. Most of my video files are labeled .mov but as listed as MPEG-2 format in the inspector. I am re-editing this project from someone elses original design. So I know the project burned with these files originally. But the really weird thing is that while attempting to build it seems to get hung up on the video that I imported and they and definitely .m2v files.
also with regard to your suggestion to remove MPEG and PAR. The only place I have folders labeled that are in my main elements folder on the external hardrive. Is that what you mean. I should dump those?? Thanks for the help.

Everything worked fine in simulation. I'm wondering about my QT files because when I imported into QT it created one file named 1stCommunionMovie and nine other files named 1stCommunionMovie-av1 thru 1stCommunionMovie-av9. I saved to the desktop because on my first 2 attempts to save to my external HD it took up way too much space, so I transfered the file to the external HD from the desktop. This is only the third time I have used this program so I'm not too experienced and I'm not exactly sure what to look for in my files. I have 1 Track almost 90 mins. all edited in FCP, NTSC, SD, with 4 Motion files, 41 JPEG files, 4 AIFF files, and about 55 mins. of video w/ audio. I used Animation Codec without Compressor to import to QT, which I was told would be fine by a "genius" at the Apple store.
Also, now when I do the simulation I have audio but no video.
Sorry if I seem clueless, I would really appreciate any clues though!

hmm, there's a lot of file-moving-around and different formats and stuff going on here. I almost never bring native QT files into DVDSP, for a number of reasons I can explain later, but for now I can recommend a workflow that will give you realiable compatibility for DVDSP, and use much less strage space than exporting to uncompresseed animation codec files.
Start in FCP, which it sounds like you have.
Select all the sequences in the browser and choose Export using Compressor from the shortcut menu. Choose the appropriate mpeg2 and Dolby AC3 audio export presets for all the items in the batch. Once Compressor is finished, the resulting files will be only as big as they need to be to fit on the DVD (provided you have chosen the right preset for the duration of your video.)
Import the .m2v and .ac3 files as your assets in DVDSP. These assets will not require any re-encoding by DVDSP, and so once your authroing is complete, the build and burn process will go very quickly.
    hope this helps-

Take a look at page 70 of the PDF for bit rates on alternate angle tracks to see if that was the issue.
Also using a CBR intead of VBR has helped in some multi angle issues.
