Building a plug-in host

Hi!
I am looking for building a "plug-in host" for photoshop plug-ins. In other words: an application that accepts photoshop plug-ins
Did, someone know where I can find help on this topic?
I read that latest SDK from adobe don't expose API for building plug-in hosts meaning that I should use older SDK.. Is this true?
I am planning to use my application with photoshop filters plug-in and my on HDR Tone Mapper plug-in.

I got into this area of forum due to a dilema of my own.  I don't understand most of the terms and accromyns stated here but I will state my case and maybe it will even help you.  I purchased and downloaded a thing called Redynamix.  It was cheap and it downloaded quickly and it worked well. When downloaded, it went directly into my PSE7 and I used it immediately with great success.  Soon, afterward I had to reformat my hard drive (not related to Dynamix) and then I moved up to PSE8 and have not been able to get Redyn into it.  I write in case you might find Redynamix handy and know what you're doing to get it functional.  If you do, let me know how the hell you did it. I'm not even sure I will be able to find this forum again so: nikon_35mm at yahoo would find me.

  • Some questions about building  a plug in

    Hello,
    1.I'm trying to build a plug in ( for EM12c release 2 ) for my standalone java application - which exposes mbeans whom i want to collect some metrics with.
    It's been a while since i started to build it - and I asked quite a lot of quesions about it - because the documnets supplied with the EDK and
    the books ( ProgrammersGuide, ProgrammersReferece and the README file ) are not very clear to me ( I'm a newbie with EM in general .. )
    So far some of the questions got answered and were very halpfull with this long process. BUT, there are some questions that nobody answered yet.
    I'm quite "stuck" with it. I'm talking about the questions in : Re: A question about updating metadata files in plug in
    I have a deadline for this plug in ( which is very close ..) so this the reason I post this new message.
    I will appriciate any help about those questions .
    2. Regarding the above, ( hoping to have an answered soon ..) I'm trying another way to buils this plug in:
    In the README file there is this section( 3.6 : using MPCUI ) . I read the programmersReference ( chapter 8 ) and followed the instructions both in the README file and the ProgrammersReference .
    For a begining, I just wanted to modify a small thing in the example supplied ( Demo Host System ) just to get started with something .
    So i modify the file which contains the label ' Select member ... ' ( i don't remember the name of the file since the project is in my office , and I can't copy/paste ..- I think the the file icontians the name ' ConfirmationTarget .xml - it's one of the pages seen while adding a target ) .
    I i changed it , i build the project ( using FlexBuilder) but did not use ANT as it's says in the README - the eclipse IDE build this file automatically
    ( HostSystem.swf  in bin-debug dir as it says in the README ) . I copied this file to stage_dir/oms/metadata/mpcui .
    i build a new plug in ( i incremented the version of it ) - no errors, everty thing was fine .I also copied this file to the oms server ( it wasn't there before )
    and than run the commad ' emctl register oms ...' as it says in section 3.6 - and o got 'Success' eventually .
    Now, when i opened the EM console , hoping to see tge change i made ( again , it's just a change of the title of the step while adding the target , and adding another menuitem to the 3 item that were alreay there ( CPU, FS, etc ) .
    I believe wad i did is right- i mean changing in the right file and place ( there is no title like like this in any oter source file in the whole project )
    but still, I didn't see any change! it seems execatly as it was befoer the change ..
    Any idea?

    Regarding your question #2. Please read my response here carefully as it covers a number of different issues.
    1. Ant is not required to build the SWF file in your plug-in. It is an OPTION. Section 8.27 describes the different development options using either Ant or FlexBuilder.
    2. You do NOT need to ever copy a SWF file to any location under the OMS runtime. You need to include it in the stage area and then either build an OPAR or use emctl to incrementally update the deployed plug-in. It has to either be deployed as part of the plug-in deployment or updated incrementally using emctl register oms metadata. Section 8.27.2.6 describes the specific steps to do this incremental update.
    Steps to update the SWF associated with demo_hostsample. These are covered in the README and in chapter 8.
    1. deploy the demo_hostsample plug-in as described in the README
    2. create an instance of the Host Sample target type through manually discovery (Add Targets->Add Non-Host Target Specifying Properties)
    3. using the demo_hostsample.zip project in Flex Builder, modify some part of the code, for example, modify the line containing label="Current Status" to label="My New Label"
    4. rebuild the SWF, to be sure you can to a Clean build of the demo_hostsample project
    5. ensure there is an updated copy of the HostSample.swf under demo_hostsample\mpcui\bin-debug (NOT bin-release, unless you Exported A Release Build)
    6. copy that updated HostSample.swf file to the location on the OMS machine where you unzipped and built the OPAR for the demo_hostsample plug-in
    7. cd to the stage/oms/metadata/mpcui directory and replace the current HostSample.swf with the one you just built (BE SURE ITS THE UPDATED FILE)
    8. execute the command "emctl register oms metadata -sysman_pwd sysman -pluginId oracle.sysman.ohs -service mpcui -file demo_hostsample_uimd_swf.xml (BE SURE TO USE THE CORRECT sysman_pwd)
    At this point you should be able to go to the homepage for the Host Sample target you created and see the changes.

    Can you be more specific on where it is throwing the error? at run time or compile time?

    .flexProperties
    open these fils and see if you can find anything. related to project_01.ht ml file

  • New Safari Has continual Webkit Plug-in Host [151] failures

    Since I applied the latest Safari and Security update on or about 28/7/10 I have had continual "Webkit Plug-in Host [151] failures" when navigating the net. However, on our IMAC which I haven't applied the latest update, it is running perfectly. We also lost our anti-virus software ability to load at the same time (iAntiVirus).
    Does anyone know what is going wrong? How can I fix it?

  • How to build a plug-in for FCP

    I want to build an export plug-in for FCP. It is a little similar to Automatic duck export plug-in. I want to export sequence in my own format.
    The version of Final Cut Pro is 6.0.
    I downloaded FxPlug SDK, but it is only about video effect, not what i want.
    And I didn’t find any other documents about how to build an export plug-in for FCP.
    Who has some related documents or can support me on this?
    I will pay for the help if i can afford it.

    I don't own Automatic Duck so I don't know how that particular application goes about doing this, but the only way I can think of doing it is through a QuickTime Export Component.

  • Building Filter Plug In UI Components

    Hello,
    I am a developer with background of developing After Effects Plug In's.
    I would like to develop a Plug In for Photoshop - Filter Plug In.
    I was wondering which componentes of the UI does the Photoshop SDK provides.
    I am interested in a simple UI:
    Sliders.
    Checkbox.
    Drop Down Lists.
    Preview.
    Zommed In Preview.
    Namely, functionality just like the built it Gaussian Blur would be OK by me.
    Does the SDK provide all that just as easy it is provided in After Effects or do I have to use a special UI library for that?

    How could we ask for a feature to have somekind of built in GUI for Plug Ins?
    Something really simple as in After Effects.
    Displaying the result on the main image, having Sliders / Checkboxes / Drop Down List on the right.
    Something like you have for the Properties Panel for Adjustment Layer or Even things as simle as we have in Gaussian Blur Filter.
    Something even better would be something like the Blur Gallery.

  • Is anyone aware of a framework that allows users to build JSF plug ins

    We have a businsess application where we would like customers (and ourselves) to add in feature plug ins.
    We know that one option is to use portlet technology for this but was wondering if anyone was aware of any open source or examples of doing this that does not use portlets.
    Ideally we would love to allow people to write a separate JSF application that works like a Struts plug in (but for JSF). In other words the user would write the JSF applciation, put in in a jar file and provide some kind of mapping file.
    Our application would have predefined hooks where the new applications would be shown (like a menu of these options for example) or file type application mapping..
    I have done some net searches on this but thought I would see if anyone in the community was aware of such a framework.

    We have a process to go from Desire2Learn to iTunesU. You should be able to do the same sort of thing with blackboard.
    What we did, is we setup a javascript post request coming out of Desire2Learn. This post request contains the course name, username and a few other important bits of information. This request goes to one of our servers which processes the passed information, and generates the necessary itunes tokens and then startes the itunes u authentication process.
    There is no reason why you couldn't do something similiar in blackboard. Either way, you are going to need a "middleman" server to intercept the request out of Blackboard, and then process it and iniatiate the iTunes U authentication process.

  • Configuration Error - Error 6  - Flash Builder 4 Plug In

    Upon starting eclipse (after installing the fb4 plug in) I get a 'Configuration Error' error 6. Anyone have any ideas as to what this is and how to get over it. At the moment I cant even trial the software which I am evaluating for our company. I am not a flex / java dev so please assume an astounding level of ignorance! I have reinstalled several times and also tried with various different versions of Eclipse including the bundled option (which I do not particularly want to be forced to use anyway).... all of this to no avail. Version inf follows:-
    OSX 10.6.1
    Eclipse = Helios, latest release

    Are you using a Carbon version of Helios? There aren't many of those posted (most are Cocoa), but I think the SDK distro is still offered in Carbon flavor.
    If that alone doesn't help, try looking for your error in these tables:

    Though FB4 Plug-in is not exactly a CS5 app, it uses CS5 install/licensing libraries, so the same solutions would probably apply.

  • How do I build a site (domain, hosting, etc)?

    I've built a site in Dreamweaver. I have purchased a domain on moniker.com. I started a Tripod account to host it on. However, I don't know how to put these three things together to place all the information I've uploaded to Tripod onto the domain I've purchased. Anyone familiar?

    So how this all works:
    1) You buy (well, really you only rent it for an amount of time) a domain name - (example of a domain name: myawesomesite.com)
    2). You find a hosting service (something like DreamHost or what not) and pay them to host your site. They'll set up your hosting service and correctly use your Domain Name (previously purchased) so that when someone types "www.myawesomesite.com" in their browser it points to this server.
    3). Your hosting service will provide you with a username and password to log into the server (usually via FTP) so that you can upload/download items to the server.
    4). You create your site and upload the files to the correct directory on the server.
    5). Somebody typing in the correct URL will visit your site, the server will serve up your website files, and the browser will render it and the user will view it.
    And that's how it works.

    Did you try the things listed here? Error 3194, Error 17, or "This device isn't eligible for the requested build" - Apple Support  Is your device jailbroken? Have you ever used the computer to jailbreak a device? Are you trying to load an iOS other than the current one? What version of iPhone are you using? Is this occurring when attempting to update via iTunes and the computer?

  • Build Plug-Ins with CS4 SDK under OS X 10.5 SDK with Xcode 3.1.2?

    I have existing Photoshop Universal Binary Plug-ins built under OS X 10.4 and the OS X 10.4 SDK, with Xcode 2.1.x & Photoshop CS3 SDK.  They are mature and stable.
    I am attempting to build these Plug-Ins with the new CS4 SDK under OS X 10.5.6 & 10.5 SDK with Xcode 3.1.2.
    They do not build as there is a conflict in PITypes.h with the attempted redefinition of uint32, already defined in the Apple header cssmconfig.h, amongst other problems.
    Has anyone built with a similar configuration?

    I've had good luck with Snow Leopard 10.6.1, XCode 3.2 and the Photoshop CS4 SDK by changing the build settings like this:
    1. Open the Target Info window: Project->Edit Active Target
    2. Change Architectures from native to 32-bit Universal (because my native is 64 bit)
    3. Make sure Base SDK is 10.4 (you must have that installed of course). If you select 10.5 for some of the Photoshop examples, you get complaints of depreciated APIs.
    4. Change C/C++ compiler version to GCC 4.0
    In the case of using these steps, there is no need to edit any headers, comment anything out, etc.

    FWIW, I was able to install Xcode 3.2.6 onto Lion (Mac OS X 10.7), using these instructions from Stack Overflow: <http://tinyurl.com/6xj8cjc>.
    I have not had any issues building CS6 plug-ins with Xcode 3.2.6. Basically, I want to use a newer MacBook Pro for development, and I am stuck with using Lion. I can always use my old MBP, but I don't want to have to haul around a couple of MacBook Pros.
    On the other hand, I have not tried to install Xcode 3.2.x on Mountain Lion. I'm hoping that upgrading Lion to Mountain Lion will not interfere with my install of Xcode.

    any ideas? Using Builder 3 Plug-In on Vista w/ remote

    minutes. Seems to have to do with the output path I think for the

  • In the Flash Builder Plugin version, why did it install another "alternate Eclipse"?

    In the Flash Builder 4 Plug-in installer I just ran, why did it install whats seems to be another copy of Eclipse in my "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4 Plug-in" folder, along with a shortcut called "Run Adobe Flash Builder 4 Plug-in with alternate Eclipse"?
    I was only expecting a plug-in in my current Eclipse installation. What is going on here?

    FB4 Plug-in comes bundled with the full Eclipse 3.4.2 (Ganymede) Package for Java Developers, and also supports linking FB4 to your own copy of eclipse 3.5 (Galileo) or 3.6 (Helios).
    We considered bundling one of the larger Packages (Eclipse for PHP Developers, etc.), but wanted to keep the footprint smaller, and the package for Java Developers was the smallest one that still includes the JDK.
    The shortcut for the "alternate" should point to your own copy of eclipse, and the default launcher shortcut should point to the bundled copy under the subfolder \eclipse-host-distro. The default shortcut will launch eclipse/FB4 using our bundled copy of the JRE, but the alternate shortcut assumes that you either have a compatible JRE installed system-wide, or that you have a valid JRE folder in your eclipse folder.
    Some of the reasons we started bundling eclipse with FB4 Plug-in were:
    - the custom configuration (ini file settings, memory allocation, etc.) provided in the bundled copy of eclipse can be used as a guide for optimizing your own eclipse configuration, for improved performance with FB4.
    - on Win, we bundle a compatibility-tested version of the JRE for use with the bundled copy of eclipse. This can come in handy on 64-bit Win, as we provide a 32-bit version of the JRE compatible with FB4. You can copy this same JRE folder into your own copy of 32-bit eclipse, if you wish to avoid installing a system-wide version of 32-bit java.
    - if you encounter any version or bundle conflicts with your own copy of eclipse, you can still run the bundled copy as a fallback, until any problems are resolved.
    Out of curiosity, which version and package of eclipse are you plugging into?

  • Building libraries and samples....this can't be right, is it?

    I realize that I can simply check out built SWC files from here, but this doesn't help me build the samples. I feel like I've missed some corner of the documentation, because my procedure for building Cairngorm 3 libraries and samples seems like it can't possibly be right.
    I've tried creating a new workspace and checking out the entire contents of this repository into it:
    http://opensource.adobe.com/svn/opensource/cairngorm3/trunk/libraries
    That seems to succeed, although I get errors like this every time:
    The resulting projects don't build because of this error:
    configuration variable 'compiler.library-path' value contains unknown token 'M2_REPO'    ContractTest        Unknown    Flex Problem
    I've fixed that problem by getting http://opensource.adobe.com/svn/opensource/cairngorm3/maven-repository to my C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4 Plug-in folder and setting M2_REPO in my workspace's Linked Resources to point to that.
    Having done all that, everything seems to build except for IntegrationDMS and IntegrationTest.
    Is this the right way to do it, or is there a simpler way?

    As you know by now Cairngorm3 build is leveraging maven and flex-mojos.
    To ease the developper workflow, to make things more consistent, to lower the maintenance cost, we decided :
    * to stop copying the dependencies in the flashbuilder projects libs folder
    * to leveraged the maven repository in the eclipse/flasbuilder projects configurations.
    Furthermore, to avoid hard coded path and allow proper sharing of these flasbuilder configurations files, we use linked-resources when appropriate.
    M2_REPO is used as such: it is the root of your maven repository.
    As for IntegrationDMS it offers some "flex plumbing" to ease the integration with Adobe LCDS (http://www.adobe.com/products/livecycle/dataservices/) especially its Data Management features, hence its name.
    In order to build it from the source you need to compile it against 3 SWCs provided in Adobe LCDS. As found in the build file

    Adobe LCDS is not opensource, as a consequence we can not host its artifacts in our repository.
    If you want to build Cairngorm3 from the source, you may then either comment out IntegrationDMS from the parent library build or install these artifacts into your own private repo.(currently the version of lcds we build against is 3.1.0.273931) :

    Please note also that if you need to build cairngorm3 from maven, as mentioned in the flexmojos docs, there is one JAR (AIR development tools) that is packaged with the Flex SDK but is not open source.
    Because of this, flexMojos cannot host this artifact. To build from source, you will need to install this artifact into your own private repo:
    >mvn install:install-file -DgroupId=com.adobe.flex -DartifactId=adt -Dversion=<version-of-the-sdk> -Dpackaging=jar -Dfile=adt.jar
    This JAR is bundled with the Flex SDK, which is freely available from : http://opensource.adobe.com/wiki/display/flexsdk/Downloads
    I'll do my best to update the wiki doc with this asap.
