Building DMI pool. & ms-6330

Hello!
I have the K7T Turbo (MS-6330) MB with an Athlon at 1200 MHz
The problem is that i cannot make it boot...i always get this message- Building DMI pool. and the computer seems to crash
trying to solve th eproblem, i already cleared the CMOS, but this did not solve the problem...
i have deconnected everything in order to make all simple...the hdd, the floppy...and now basically it's just the processor, the MB, the memory, and the video board...but nothing...the system freeezes...i tried to load fail-safe defaults, i tried to load optimized defaults, but the system still freezes...
any ideeas how to solve the problem?
thank you

Hello!
This is where I'm at too. :(
It is not easily solvable, at least not here. Hopefully it is that CMOS don't like where it finds the bootable disk.
Enter BIOS if you can. Select "None" for all IDE devices. Disable primary cache. Save&Exit. Reboot, to get a CMOS error. Don't enter BIOS. Power off and unplug power cable. Clear CMOS once again. Connect the Master disk, but nothing else, to the primary IDE slot. Start up again. This time enter BIOS and do proper changes for time, hard disk etc.
Good LUCK!
(If this doesn't work, use Windows CD for booting device and do a repair install.)
but i do not at the moment where he would boot....it just freezes after showing the table with devices and irq's...after that it wites Building DMI Pool and stops...
nothing happens
what do you mean by disabling memory cache?how do i do that?

    Hello
Problem with motherboard K8N NEO4 Platinum!!!
    Description - BUILDING DMI POOL
    Configuration:
    MOTHERBOARD K8N NEO4 PLATINIUM, Ultra nForce 7125
    AMD Athlon 64, 3700, Socket 939
Video: ASUS Carries to an extreme N6200TC, 256 RAM

    Power Supply RAIDMAX +24 PIN +4 PIN CPU+SATA 450W
I want to initialize the PC from the CD to install WIN XP, I can change the beginning sequence FROM the BIOS configuring the CD like first device, but from the menu boot with F11 I cannot change the boot order, this fixed one in the +HHD
Already change for several HHD, CD and Power Supply but the continuous problem!!!!!!!!!!
I believe that it is a problem with the CMOS it already cleans it from the reset button and it doesn't pass anything!!!!!!!
    Thank You, for your help…

    Borger_Montr,
The think you problem maybe the +12V@22A on your Power Supply, I highly recommend a Minimum of 28-30A and I repeat minimum.
If I am right you can prove it this way, you say you cannot even boot from Floppy drive or CD.
Leaving you case sides off unplug all of your case fans, power supply, CPU and motherboard Chipset fans are all you need if your turning it on for a short test.
In addition, Unplug all drives except for the floppy drive.
Then, insert a bootable disk into the floppy drive.
Boot the system, it should boot from the floppy with no problems.
If it boots from the floppy, you need a new power supply and when buy your new PS total power is a useless number.  The +12V output current rating the one to look for on a single rail supply like you have now again 30A Minimum 35-40A would be better, on multiple +12V power supply each rail should be rated at 20A Minimum.  I do not care how many rails you has each must have 20A or more.  Another thing to make sure of make sure the power supply has all the correct cables and connect you motherboard and Graphics cards.  Each graphics card and all of the power connectors on the motherboard should have there own cable with correct plugs that connect directly to the Power Supply.  For no reason should you need any power cable adapters, all that means is that power supply was not meant for your system.
If you need any more details of instruction or I did not explain something well enough that you understood completely, please reply and ask pacific questions.
    Roger
When submitting a problem, include a complete list of your system components; include part numbers, all Power Supply Voltages, and their output ratings.  It is almost impossible to estimate what your problem is without knowing something about it.

  • New Build hangs at VERIFYING DMI POOL DATA

I put it all together and try to load the XP OS, but it hangs at Verifying DMI Pool Data.......(NTLDR is missing)
Have rechecked the cables and connections a half dozen times. (All new cables)
Checked and rechecked the boot order.
    Disconnected the floppy.
I tried swapping to another HDD with a SATA, but I don't see it recognized during post, and I still get error message.
I put in an XP ms-dos starup floppy and it says update success, but won't system file transfer and goes back to the original error message.
    What's up here?
I little surfing lead me to this link       http://www.duxcw.com/faq/computer/dmi.html
which says a possible cure might be clearing the CMOS.
I supposed that's done by changing the jumpers right?
But, I have searched this website and can't find any Bios downloads for the K8N Neo2.
If I clear the CMOS I'll need to DL BIOS again right?
I am sure the original V1.A is outdated anyway.
Suggestions? I don't want to go rooting around and changing things and make this worse.
This is my 2nd build and the 1st wasn't easy either.

yes just BOOT from CD and reinstall XP... better reformat partition which contains XP. if you have important things on this partition not only OS move it to secondary partition or to other HDD.

  • How to create a Pooled VDI infrastructure using Win server 2012 as VM image?I have followed the "usual" way to build a pooled VDI desktop using Win7 or Win8 with success, but it fails when I use an image of Win Server 2012 as VM

I have followed the "usual" way to build a pooled VDI desktop using Win7 or Win8 with success, but it fails when I use an image of Win Server 2012 as VM instead.
Am I overlooking something?  Should I need to prepare the image in a different way? (Sysprep differently?)
    Thanks

    Hi,
Thank you for your posting in Windows Server Forum.
Can you specify the error which you are facing during VDI setup for server 2012?
I might think that you need to check the memory setting for server 2012, as might happens that due to less memory you can’t setup the VDI setup properly.
Memory: If the Master VM is configured with static memory, it must have at least 1024 MB as startup RAM. If the Master VM is configured with dynamic memory, the maximum RAM must be at least 1024 MB.
Please check beneath article for information.

  • Solaris 8 x86 Hangs on reboot with Verfying DMI Pool Data

I've just installed solaris 8 on intel. I previously run 2.7 on same system no problem.
After installing 8 and rebooting the machine hangs after displaying
    Verifying DMI Pool Data .........
It appears to of verified, but then does nothing else. I have checked all components are compatible (supported), tried differing rebuilds, upgrading from 2.7 However every time I get the same problem.
    Any ideas?
    alan (every).

    Green,
I need you to think really hard here with me...what was the last program, piece of hardware you loaded into the machine? I've seen this problem so many times and it will drive you wild...you're having a driver or software issue during bootup and it's hanging the system..
What I would do is see if I can get into safe mode by hitting F8 as the system starts up...if it will boot into safe mode then go uninstall whatever the program is that you installed last or uninstall the drivers of whatever hardware you installed last...
    Then try rebooting again normally...
I'll warn you now that I've only been successful in doing this when I've rebooted the system twice prior to trying this fix...if you rebooted more than twice it will corrupt your MBR and you'll have to FDISK and start all over again...
Insert your boot disk Win98SE preferred...select Boot from floppy with no CDROM or Network...
Type FDISK at the A prompt...go in and delete the non dos partition...DON'T CREATE ANOTHER PARTITION OR FORMAT THE DRIVE...
If it's a Western Digital Drive go to their website and get their Drive Utility tool and run it on the drive...
If it's a Maxtor go get Powermax from their site and run it on the drive...
Do same for any other mfg drive i.e. Seagate, IBM or whatever...
THEN if it passes the tests with no errors use the drive to reload your OS again...THIS TIME load your drivers one at a time, same with your software...Do a system restore point prior to each load...this way you can easily undo whatever fails if anything...
    Hope that helps!
    Cheers!! 8)

  • DMI pool data clicks at K8N neo2

    I have neo2 mainboard
I have updated the bios to 1.8 version (the former was 1.5)
now when I restart the computer a "verifying DMI pool data" message appears which is followed by several 'clicks'
what is it and how can I silence those clicks?

Hi!  From where do these "clicks" come?  I have the Neo2 and Bios V 1.8 and I get clicky' wid' it too...  Mine seem to be coming from the drives, like an old school floppy seek sound, try disabling boot-up floppy seek and listen to the results...

Hey-- I just replaced my stock intel heatsink with a new Noctua NH-U12F. It requires a backplate, so it takes unbuilding and rebuilding your computer to put on.
Somewhere in the rebuilding process, something went wrong. My boot process gets stuck on the "Verifying DMI Pool Data....." stage. It has never done this before. I pushed the BIOS Reset button and it didn't fix it, i'm running BIOS 7.0 (stock)

  • Bios issues with k8n neo2, turn of memory test, and dmi pool data

    Hey guys.
I recently flashed my bios to the 1.9's for the K8n neo2 running in my main machine.
Everything went ok for the most part, though i had some issues with boot record, and boot.cfg file.  That stuff is all worked out now.
However, with this bios, I constantly get the extended memory test, on my 2 gigs of ram.  The old bios i had, 1.4's, didnt do that.  Is there an option to turn that off?  I cant seem to find it any where?
My 2nd question is this, after this bios upgrade, my verifying dmi pool data takes longer then it used to, if it even did it before, im not sure, because my boot sequence was much faster.
How can I get rid of the "verifying dmi pool data" or speed it up?
    Thanks guys

Tried to used the Bios 1c by Syar's. His bios is nice and easy. Maybe bould solve your problem.BTW do used liveupdate to flashed your Bios or is it manual? Stay away from using liveupdate as it causing a lot problems. Manual is the best way. Refer to my sig for the manual flashing. Here's the location of the files for the Bios 1C. Gd luck.

  • Can't get past "Verifying DMI Pool Data"

Hello forum folks, I'm hoping you can advise me on my problem.  Here's my setup:
    MSI VIA K8T800 K8T Master2-FAR
Dual AMD Opteron 240's (not overclocked)
ENERMAX 550W Power Supply Model "EG651P-VE(FMA)"
Sapphire ATI Radeon 9800XT Video Card, 256MB DDR
Corsair XMS Extreme Memory Speed Platinum Series, Low Latency (Twin Pack) 184 Pin
        1GB(512MBx2) ECC Registered DDR PC-3200
Asus Black 16X DVD-ROM Drive, Model DVD-E616P1 Black
VANTEC Nexus Fan Controller Panel Model "NXP-205-BK"
with 5 Coolmax Chameleon LED cooling Fan, Model "CM-825-CL" connected
Western Digital Raptor 36.7GB 10,000RPM SATA Hard Drive, Model WD360GD
SONY Black 1.44MB 3.5inch Floppy Disk Drive, Model MPF920
When I first turned the computer on, my floppy wasn't being recognized, but the computer did get past the DMI verification.  However, since my floppy wasn't working, I couldn't get Windows XP to install since I didn't have the SATA drivers.  So, I fiddled with the floppy cable until it worked.  Once I got the floppy working, the computer would start hanging on the DMI verification.  So I unplugged the floppy but it still wouldn't go.  I scanned the forum for ideas and tried clearing the CMOS and setting the BIOS settings to both the optimized defaults and the fail-safe defaults.  I haven't yet had the time to unplug each device individually, nor have I unplugged every device.  I'm wondering if anyone has any other advice.  I'm hoping I won't have to RMA the board, but I will as a last resort.
    Thanks for any help.
    Edit:  Forgot the PSU, heh.

    UPDATE:
Okay, I've tried unplugging individual devices and it seems when the Raptor SATA drive is unplugged, it will get past the DMI verification, but when I plug the drive back in, it says, "Updating ESCD ... Success" and then hangs after the DMI verification line.  I've tried switching from legacy power to SATA power, reversing the SATA cable, plugging the SATA cable into SATA1 and SATA2 on the MoBo and none of that has worked.  Do I have a bad HD or am I still missing something?

I tried to install 3 of the Crucial Ballistix Tracer (1 Gig Each) in this motherboard (MSI K7N2 Delta-ILSR Nforce2 (Socket A) Motherboard (MB-003-MS) Features NF2 chipset) and it will not run stabilly no matter what I tried. Is this a bios conflict with the memory? If so, are there any new bios updates? I have tried cas settings and voltage settings but nothing works. It will how ever run perfectly with only 2 sticks in single channel mode. It will not run same 2 sticks in dual channel mode. Anyone have any ideas? Anyone know of any new motherboards with maybe NFORCE 4 Chipset that support all 3 sticks of this memory and an AGP graphics card? Ok I tried to use relaxed FSB by -10 and relaxed mem timings but still unstable due to the motherboard trying to use dual channel memory. If you can modify the bios to where it will not have the capability of dual channel memory I truly believe it will work. Will u try this for me? I would greatly appreciate it as I am really not ready to spend all the money on new equipemtn when this suits my needs for now.
sure but as i said before this is gona be experimental and risky. Here we go:

Procedure is automated in best possible safest way to BIOS update.
Prepare a blank diskette in a good condition(newest one etc.)
]execute file under XP will make bootdisk with automated BIOS update procedure. when diskette is ready, reboot PC and boot from FDD(floppy), wait a bit, then you will be asked for final confirmation about BIOS update process, press a key to proceed, after BIOS update is complete, ensure that you got successfully output message from flash program. then power down your PC, remove power cord from the PSU, hit power button several time to drain caps electrify, touch with hands some metal for ES discharge, and Clear CMOS.
pull back power cord, power up your PC, when you see CMOS checksum error,(expected msg) hit F1 to continue to re-build DMI pool data, then reboot and enter in BIOS, LOAD BIOS DEFAULT, and SAFE AND EXIT.
NOTE: Ensure your PC is stable before proceed with BIOS update.
NOTE: Use it at own risk, chance of failure is big, cannot guarantee results and safest as provisional mode which can guarantee it will work stable with features. also cannot test it personally before give you. (don't have mobo anymore)
Using it may end with dead mainboard (BIOS chip re-flash will be required, if somethink goes wrong)

  • Flash Rom Protected

While booting the Updating ESCD ... Success
The Building DMI Pool .... Says Flash ROM Protected.
Some of the PCs give this message some of them don't.  They are the exact same configuration as in my signature.  I looked in the BIOS for a BIOS lock, but do not seem to find one.  Any Ideas?

It had caused my boot time to increase dramatically.  I figured out the problem though.  I was testing several sticks of RAM and in order to replace a stick I had to remove my Video Card each time.  So to facilitate testing I decided to use the integrated video since all I was doing was looking at memtest 186 I didn't need my Video Card.  However the removal of that video card was what caused the problem.  The instant I put my video card back in the problem ceased.

  • PM8M-V updating ESCD and unable to make a warm reboot

I have a problem with my PM8M-V motherboard.
Almost everytime when the computer boots it says
    updating ESCD.....(about 20 seconds)...success
building DMI pool ......(another 25 seconds)....Flash ROM protected
and then Windows loads. Sometimes Windows hangs during loading and I have to press the reset button to reboot.
Then it works almost OK with some exceptions:
When the computer starts like this it is impossible to make a (warm) reboot. It comes to "closing windows" and then hangs, I have to use the reset button to restart it.
The software sems to be unable to read information about the hardware, for example MSI info tool and Live Update can't read information about motherboard and BIOS.
I have found that if I disable OnChip SATA in BIOS the computer sometimes (maybe one time out of ten) starts in the right way (no updating of ESCD, it's possible to make a warm boot and MSI Live update detscts my MB and BIOS and works properly). If OnChip SATA is enabled and SATA Mode set to IDE I always get the updating ESCD message, Windows sometimes hangs during loading, it's impossible to make a software reboot and MSI's software can't detect my MB.
I have flashed BIOS to V3.4, formatted the C: partition and made a fresh install of Windows but the problem persists.
Anyone here who have any ideas?
    Ulla

    Hello
I don't have the computer here now, I brought it back to the retailer.
What is NVRAM and under what menu in the BIOS do I find it? I can't remember that I have seen it even though I think I have looked everywhere. What I do know is that sometimes during the boot I have got the message NVRAM protected instead of Flash ROM protected (and then I have the same problems).
Even during the Windows installation the computer didn't restart automatically, I had to use the reset button.
The PSU is part of an AOpen housing, I don't know what brand it is, according to the box it is "300W/PFC Power".
I haven't payed much attention to voltages, but I have noticed that 12V varies slightly between 11.9 something and 12.04 (I think), and then something is usually around 5,12 and the third maybe 3,47, but I'm not 100% sure I remember correctely.
The hard drive is primary master and the optical drive secondary master. If I enable the SATA controller they are listed as IDE channel 0 and 1 (IIRC).
I am not very good at theese hardware things. I had the computer built for me (by the technician at the retailer's, so I trust that it is done properly). Motherboard, PSU, optical drive and card reader are new. CPU, hard drive, graphics card and memory are previously used in a Shuttle.
