Building expression for complex key

Hi
I have an object with a complex key. I'm trying to create an expression that will generate a select to retrieve a list of objects by the complex primary key.
The select should look like :
select *
from <table_name>
where (<col1>,<col2>) in ( (val1,val2) , (val1, val3) )
The problem is i cannot find a way to create the expression (<col1>,<col2>).
Can anyone give me an example on how this can be done ?
Thanks
Inbal

TopLink expressions do not currently support the IN((..), (..)), or nested array IN SQL. You will either need to generate your own custom SQL for this. Or build the expression dynamically using AND and OR instead of an IN.
i.e.
ExpressionBuilder builder = new ExpressionBuilder();
Expression inPrimaryKeys = null;
Iterator iterator = primaryKeys.iterator();
while (iterator.hasNext()) {
List primaryKey = (List) iterator.next();
inPrimaryKeys = builder.get("id1").equal(primaryKey.get(0)).
and(builder.get("id2").equal(primaryKey.get(1))).
or(inPrimaryKeys);

  • SPEL: Can I use java expressions for complex rendering?

    Hi
    I would like to avoid complexity in extending controllers and VO's in iProcurement by adding some rendering control to my page attributes such that the value of "rendered" is a more complex SPEL function.
    E.g.:
    normally I could use:
    rendered="${oa.VO.isFieldRendered}"
    where the above attribute exists in the VO.
    However, I would like not to have to create a new Attribute, but use the following:
    rendered="${oa.VO.Field.equals("Y")}"
    Does anyone know if this kind of thing is possible?
    Cheers
    Chris

    Hey Jon! Will e-mail ya later!!
    Tapash: Am trying to use an existing VO field to determine the rendering of a page item. The current field has a Y/N value, not boolean which the render SPEL generally uses.
    The only way I know how to do this is to extend the VO and add a new calculated boolean field. I can do this, but was hoping that SPEL might provide an alternative..
    Thanks

  • Expression for a cumulated key figures

    I would like to make an expression for a cumulated key figure (I set "cumulated" in properties of this KF) in Query Designer 3.5. If I try to make an expression, I'll get an expression for a key figure, and not for a cumulated key figure.
    Any ideas? Should I use query view?

    Hi,
    You may need to think about the Cell Editor concept here.
    In of the report I need to take 12 calmonth2 values in the columns starting from a financial year.Here the financial startd from APRIL.
    For each coolumn I need to show Average of sales value.Here Average means ,under APril month the value is April's sales value only.But for May ,I need to show like : (sales of April+ sales of May)/2.
    Similarly for June: (sales of April+ sales of May+sales of June)/3.
    So on ....
    Here I used the cell editor concept to get the required out put.
    I am take 12 selections in columns for 12 months .
    I have taken Sales value 2 times into Rows and hidden the first KF. But in the cell editor: for second row's second cell I have defined a formula like : (second row's First  cell+ First row's second  cell)/2
    Similarly for second row's thrid cell I have defined a formula like :(second row's First  cell+ First row's second  cell+ First row's third  cell)/3.
    so on..for other cells of Second row.

  • How do I build an expression for a multi-element in-list?

    How do I build an expression for a multi-element in-list? For example:
    SELECT * FROM employees
    WHERE (first_name, last_name, email) IN
    (('Guy', 'Himuro', 'GHIMURO'),('Karen', 'Colmenares', 'KCOLMENA'))
    Passing a Vector to Expression.in(Vector) where each element is a Vector of values itself will result in the appropriate expression for the values clause, but how to I get the columns to be considered together, that is, how do I get the "(first_name, last_name, email)" part?
    Steve

    Steve,
    I do not believe this is currently supported in the TopLink expression framework. Your best bet at this point will be to use custom SQL.

    I really don't have an answer for that one. I guess that while trying to get things working correctly, I would use the most basic monitor I had which in your case would be the Eizon using the Thunderbolt port and adaptor.
    When you boot into Safe Mode the startup is quite slow, but you should get the Apple logo and then the spinning gear below it (release the SHIFT key when it appears.) Then after a little more time you should see a gray progress bar appear below the spinning gear. When that disappears the computer will startup to a login screen.

  • Visual Studio 2013 Express for Windows - InitializeComponent() does not contain a definition issue

    Hi,
    I have recently downloaded Visual Studio 2013 Express for Windows (Windows Store App version), with Update 1.
    I create a blank app. I right-click on InitializeComponent() in the MainPage.xaml.cs and select Go To Definition. It brings me to the .g.i.cs file where this method resides.
    I go into the designer for MainPage.xaml and create a grid of 2 rows and 2 columns (all at 1*). I add one button, doesn't matter where. I double click on that button to add a click method to MainPage.xaml.cs. Without entering anything into the button click
    method, I scroll up and InitializeComponent() has an error and tells me there is not definition, even though I was looking at the definition a minute ago. I found I could unload the project and reload it and InitializeComponent() would have the definition
    in the .g.i.cs file but as soon as I add another button click or anything else I run into the same error. It seems as if the .g.i.cs file is not automatically regenerating, or it is being deleted all together when the button click method is added to the xaml.cs
    file.
    Everything I have done up to this point is very vanilla. I installed VS '13 Express for Windows, didn't change any VS setting, created a project and ran into this issue. I installed Update 1 thinking there might be a fix from the update--no luck. The xaml
    file Build Action is Page and the Xaml.cs file is Compile.
    I have tried deleting the MainPage.xaml file, after the creation of a project, and adding a new MainPage file with the added templates VS wants to include, and I still run into the same issue.
    I have searched for answers the past few days but haven't found anything that addresses my issue (most of what I found addresses VS '10 but their InitializeComponent() issues aren't the same as mine). Any help the MSDN community can provide would be
    a great help. If worst comes to worst, I will re-install VS and see if that corrects it--this would be a last-ditch effort though.
    Thank you for any help you may be able to provide

    Intellisense has a bug in VS2013 where it doesn't recognize InitializeComponent when you start working on the XAML.  My feeling is that if you try to compile this app, it will run fine (as long as there are no actual errors).

    If my reply answers your question, please mark this post as answered.
    NOTE: If I ask for code, please provide something that I can drop directly into a project and run (including XAML), or an actual application project. I'm trying to help a lot of people, so I don't have time to figure out weird snippets with undefined
    objects and unknown namespaces.

  • SCCM 2012 R2 reporting error: "The DefaultValue expression for the report parameter 'UserTokenSIDs' contains an error: A specified logon session does not exist. It may already have been terminated. (rsRuntimeErrorInExpression)"

    Hi,
    I have two SCCM environments under same active directory domain and one service account have been used for SCCM configurations on both the environments (QA and PRODUCTION). I am facing similar error as mentioned above while trying to fetch reports on
    PRODUCTION site, but the QA site is working fine, though same service account have been used for configuring both. While looking at the reportserverservice_<date> log on my Production DB server i see the following error
    "processing!ReportServer_0-3!2124!01/02/2015-09:09:30:: e ERROR: Throwing Microsoft.ReportingServices.ReportProcessing.ProcessingAbortedException: , Microsoft.ReportingServices.ReportProcessing.ProcessingAbortedException: An error has occurred during
    report processing. ---> Microsoft.ReportingServices.ReportProcessing.ReportProcessingException: Cannot read the next data row for the dataset DataSet1. ---> System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Conversion failed when converting the nvarchar value 'Override
    Default' to data type int."
    My DB and SCCM primary site are different and the reorting services point is installed on remote DB server. Please help me resolving the issue.
    Troubleshooting performed:
    1.Disabled the registry key 'EnableRbacReporting' from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SMS\SRSRP to 0 and then restarted SSRS service and the reporting worked for some minutes after that the registry key reverted back to 1 automatically and
    reporting started throwing errors again.
    2. Checked with the permissions on DB whether or not 'sysadmin' role is assigned to the SCCM service account.
    3. re-registered the SQL management Provider WMI class.
    mofcomp.exe “C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\110\Shared\sqlmgmproviderxpsp2up.mof”

    Hi All,
    Finally found exact solution to the reporting error.
    Error: while launching SCCM reports (both from Console and web based) an unexpected error occured with error message as "The DefaultValue expression for the report parameter ‘UserTokenSIDs’ contains an error: A specified logon session does not exist.
    It may already have been terminated. (rsRuntimeErrorInExpression)"
    Solution: This is password replication issue for the domain account used to configure reporting services point in SCCM. If your SQL SSRS reporting services instance and databse runs with local default account whereas the reporting services point on SCCM
    primary site is configured with domain account, (As in My case) you need to perform the following in order to get rid of the error.
    Launch 'Reporting Services Configuration Manager' from the SQL SSRS box(either Local or Remote), Connect to Report Server Instance->Go to 'Execution Account' tab->Specify the 'Execution Account' as domain account and password which is used to configure
    Reporting Services Point in SCCM Primary Site, and then click apply.
    Now Lauch the report either way (Web based or from Console), the error will disappear and all your default reports will execute perfectly as before.

  • Sql*loader and sequence() for primary keys

    I have a question regarding SQL*Loader with the sequence() function and using it for a primary key to load records in multiple tables from one input record. I am pulling data from a delimited file and populating several tables from each row. For the primary key, I am using the sequence function.
    For the first table (the parent), I use sequence(40000,1) for the key. Since the remaining inserts are based on the same logical record, I use sequence(40000,1) for those too (one record for each month). The problem comes in when a child record does not pass a WHEN clause (the amount is zero). Then it almost seems as if the parent record is not loaded and the child (or children) that does pass the WHEN clause are assigned to the next parent! Obviously, the sequence is getting out of sync between the children and the parent.
    I've looked in the documentation and tried several different ways to attack this problem. Is there a bug in SQLLDR (8.1.7) or is it just my coding.
    I will try to include the files below but they are very large.
    Thanks for your help.

    Thanks for the reply .. user do have their user credentials but only for the application ... but all users use a common loader and control file once they log into the application. So irrespective of which user is logged in he selects the same control file and loads to the same table mentioned in the control file .. i instead want user to be able to load to the table in control file but into his schema like username.tablename instead of just the tablename mentioned in .ctl file.

  • Problems with creating badi implementation for virtual key figures

    Hi,
    I'm running BI 7.0 (unicode).
    I have been trying to follow this blog to calculate the virtual keyfigure in my infoset - Using Virtual Key Figure and Characteris in an InfoSet
    My infoset includes 1 infocube, and 3 master data infoobjects. I have created everything the blog was referring to, and activated fine. However, it seems that when the field symbols are assigned from the c_s_data structure, they do not get referenced correctly, so that no correct memory area is assigned and instead the whole c_s_data structure is assigned to the field symbol, which prevents me from referencing the right mem area correctly.
    For example, in this statement
    ASSIGN COMPONENT P_CHA_ZMYINFOSET___F120 OF STRUCTURE c_s_data
                                                                           TO  <fs_ZMYINFOSET___F120>.
    the component p_cha_zmyinfoset___F120 of c_s_data supposed to be assigned to the field symbol (point to the correct place in structure c_s_data). In other words when this statement is executed, the program looks at structure c_s_data, finds the component zmyinfoset___F120 in it, and assignes the position of that component in the structure to the field symbol, so that it could be referenced in the code. However, the correct assignment does not happen.
    When I debug the code and view the structure c_s_data, I can never find any component with any of the names I can find in my BEX query like ZMYINFOSET___F120. All I see are the components that are named like these: Z____5179 (C_S_DATA-Z____5179), C_S_DATA-S____5150, etc. I see the correct values, but components all have weired names like that. I thought in Infosets the components are named in the following fashion: INFOSETNAME___FXXX which you can see from your BEX query designer. Why is this happening? Why don't I see the correct names in the c_s_data structure? If instead I try to assign those components with their weired names directly, I still get incorrect assignment.
    what am I doing wrong?
    I was reading abap help on this statement:  assign COMPONENT comp OF STRUCTURE struc
    and the following I found:
    With this expression for mem_area, the memory area of a component comp of a structure struc is assigned to the field symbol. While the structure struc is specified directly, a data object must be specified for comp. The evaluation depends on the data type of comp:
    If the field comp has a non-text, elementary type, the content is converted to the type i and interpreted as a position of the component in the structure. if the value for comp is 0, the storage area of the entire structure is assigned to the field symbol.
    From what it says above, my value for comp is always 0, so that the entire structure is always assigned to my field symbol instead of a specific position in that structure.
    please let me know what is wrong here.
    thanks.

  • IMPLEMENTING PAGEWISE CONCEPT FOR COMPLEX QUERIES FOR WEB BASED TECHNOLOGIES

    Dear Friends
    how do i implement Page Wise concept for complex queries. Complex queries includes 'Group by', 'from selects'. Mere Rownum selection doesnt solve my problem. I have 3 buttons 'Previous', 'Next' and 'display of No. of records' . Kindly suggest me with a solution.

    The only widespread way is dynamically bild a SQL clause then parse and execute it using dynamic sql (package dbms_sql) or native dynamic sql (execute immediate clause).
    You can go through your already built cursor and display only those records you need (for example from 10th to 20th). I think there is no way to leave cursor open and reuse it another time. Every time You hit next, back or count button you need build new cursor (either selecting context columns to show some records or selecting count(*) to show number of records). You can generate this code with Oracle Designer, making webserver modules. Of course this will cost rather many $$$. Another tip - Designer makes this code for all situations and therefore it is somewhat difficult to understand it in the beginning. If you really need some example I can send something to you.

    Hi,
    I used dom parser and i think using that will solve your problem.....Create desired tags...establish a connection and retrive data into the tags...This would solve your problem.
    Other way is the database that you are using must be having some option to generate an xml from a table..that option will be more easy and useful..
    If u are to use a dom parser..so tell me...

  • Help with conditional build expressions

    I'm using RoboHelp HTML and creating WebHelp Pro layouts. I
    want to create five (or more) different versions of the Help tool
    for our various groups of users.
    Here's what I'd like to do: Create a conditional build tag
    for each of the versions (i.e. each of our groups of users). I
    could name them as follows:
    group1
    group2
    group3
    group4
    group5
    Then, I would associate each topic with one or more of the
    build tags. For example, topic1 may be for group1 and group2;
    topic2 may be for group1 and group4. Etc.
    The problem is thus: When I want to create the version for,
    say, group1, my expression ends up excluding the other groups. In
    the end, this omits any topics associated with group1 that are also
    associated with the other build tags (i.e. the other groups).
    Is there an expression I can use to prevent these topics from
    being omitted? Perhaps the use of parentheses?
    The only solution I've used is tedious: I create many build
    tags--one for each variation. For example, I'd have a
    group1group2group3 build tag, a group1group3 build tag, a
    group1group4 build tag, etc. Then, I just associate one build tag
    with each topic. When I'm creating a version for group1, for
    example, I'd just include all topics with a build tag that includes
    group1 (e.g. group1, group1group3, group1group2group3, et. al.). I
    omit the others (e.g. group2group3, group2group4,
    group2group3group4group5...et. al.).
    As you can imagine, this solution is problematic. First, I
    have to create and keep track of many many build tags. Then, if I
    want to create another version of Help, I need to change all the
    build tags to include this new group.
    I'm sure there must be a better build tag expression for what
    I'm trying to accomplish. Please help! Thanks!

    There is indeed an expression! Unfortunately, the option is
    normally hidden, so it can be tricky to find. Here's what you do:
    1. Define the build tags.
    2. Apply them to your topics. OVERLAPPING IS ENCOURAGED! That
    is to say, you can assign tag1, tag2, and tag3 to a single topic.
    3. Right-click the desired layout and select Properties.
    4. Click the Define button to the right of the Conditional
    Build Tag drop-down menu. The Define Conditional Build Tag
    Expression dialog will appear.
    5. Click the Advanced button. The Advanced area will appear
    at the bottom of the dialog.
    6. Select a tag from the Available Conditional Build Tags
    drop-down menu.
    7. Click the Add Tag button. The selected tag will appear in
    the Conditional Build Tag Expression display window.
    8. Click the AND button.
    9. Select another tag from the drop-down menu.
    10. Click the Add Tag button.
    11. Repeat steps 8-10 for each tag you wish to add to the
    expression.
    12. Click the OK button to close the dialog.
    13. Click the Save button to save your layout with the new
    build expression.
    That's it! The trick is to use the ADVANCED button in the
    Define Conditional Build Tag Expression dialog. Doing so allows you
    to build inclusional expressions rather than exclusional
    expressions, so you can avoid the hassle you described in your
    post. Using this method, I defined two build tags (A and B) and
    applied them to three topics as follows:
    * Topic 1: Tag A
    * Topic 2: Tag B
    * Topic 3: Tags A and B
    I then defined an expression that simply included tag A. When
    I compiled my help, topics 1 and 3 appeared in the output, but
    topic 2 did not.

  • EL expression for maximum length of column of underlying EO

    Hi all,
    I am using ADF Faces with ADF BC as the model layer. I have a simple inputText component on the screen that shows 32 characters (columns property = 32). The underlying database table can hold 128 characters. Is there any EL expression that I can use for the maximum length? I have tried the EL expression builder, but I don't see any property that looks promising (#{bindings.fieldname.<something>} is what I'm looking for)
    Thanks,
    John

    Chris,
    In 10.1.3.2, we already automatically drop an EL expression for the Columns property that is bound to the Display Width hint.
    It will look like:
                <af:inputText value="#{bindings.Dname.inputValue}"
                              label="#{bindings.Dname.label}"
                              required="#{bindings.Dname.mandatory}"
                              columns="#{bindings.Dname.displayWidth}">
                  <af:validator binding="#{bindings.Dname.validator}"/>
                </af:inputText>If the developer has not supplied a custom value of Display Width, then it defaults to the maximum length of the attribute.
    If you have provided a custom Display Width hint that is shorter than the maximum length, then you can reference the maximum length by using the precision property of the attribute definition, as shown in the EL expression for maximumLength below.
                <af:inputText value="#{bindings.Dname.inputValue}"
                              label="#{bindings.Dname.label}"
                              required="#{bindings.Dname.mandatory}"
                              columns="#{bindings.Dname.displayWidth}"
                              maximumLength="#{bindings.Dname.attributeDef.precision}">
                  <af:validator binding="#{bindings.Dname.validator}"/>
                </af:inputText>
