Building forum with portal8i

hi,
i'm asking if there is a possibility to devellop a forum (discusion group) with portal8i for our site(develloped with portal8i).
how should i proceed?

Depending on how complex you want the forum, there are a variety of options. Firstly, there a few people who have written pl/sql discussion forum portlets. You should be able to search this forum and find the appropriate people.
Secondly, I am sure I read somewhere that the PDK will contain a discussion forum soon.
Finally, create your own using Application components (forms and reports). If you only need something simple this is the best way of doing it.
You can quickly knock something up using a simple schema like:
Threads table:
thread_id
submission_date
user_id
subject
body
Responses table:
thread_id (foreign key)
response_date
body
user_id
null

  • Install problem JDeveloper 12c (12.1.2.0.0) (Build 6668) with Generic Installer on windows

    Hi,
I am trying to install JDeveloper 12c (12.1.2.0.0) (Build 6668) with Generic Installer on windows .
    C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_25\bin>java -jar C:\jdev_suite_121200.jar
I get the following error :
    Extracting files................................................................
Unsupported platform (unable to determine the startup directory location).
The Oracle Universal Installer failed.  Exiting.
When I try with windows install ( right click jdev_suite_121200_win32.exe and "run as administrator") , I get the following error:
ERROR Launch:No such file or directory
In the discussion (https://forums.oracle.com/thread/2573396?start=0&tstart=0) , it is said to be solved by "running as administrator" but it didn't work for me ...
    Thanks ...

    Hi,
Can you please tell whether you are using 32-bit or 64-bit windows.
If it is 64-bit then you must run as administrator. In Windows 7x64, just right click on the jDeveloper exe and choose "run as administrator..."
Remove the existing Oracle folder and restart the system.
Try to install in new drive.
Oracle Fusion Middleware Installation Guide for Oracle JDeveloper - 11g Release 2 (11.1.2.4.0) Hope this link will give you more idea in installation.
    Thanks

  • Problem building GTK with jbuild on Mac OS X

    Hi everyone,
I don't know if this is the right place to ask my question...
I cannot build GTK with jbuild on my Leopard 10.5.8 system.
I have deleted the Leopard built-in Python 2.5 folder (At that time I didn't know that deleting the default system Python is not good....) and I have installed Python 2.7 (from the .dmg file).
I also Installed Apple Developer Tools, which I guess should be XCode 3.0.
On the terminal I verified my Python version:
    $ which python
    /Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.7/bin/python
Then I followed this guide to build GTK:
    http://sidhosting.co.uk/josh_fradley/getting-emesene-2-up-and-running-on-os-x/
which is basically the same as the one in Gnome site:
    http://live.gnome.org/GTK%2B/OSX/Building#Procedure
I followed the first guide, but it gives me some errors:
    macbook-pro-di-zhu-francesco-yangfan:~ francesco$ curl -o gtk-osx-build-setup.sh https://raw.github.com/jralls/gtk-osx-build/master/gtk-osx-build-setup.sh

Anyone can tell me why I got this error?
It seems that jbuild doesn't see my xcode version? But I did install it!
It's very strange because I succeeded to do 'jbuild bootstrap' before when I used to have Python 2.5, although I got stuck for other commands more forward.
    Thanks everyone.

    Aborting...
It is not the PKGBUILD's fault, apparently, as the same error occurs when I autogen-configure-make manually. So is there something wrong with my system, the python setup maybe? (I tried manually replacing "python" by "python2.7" in the Makefile – no success.) Or is it an upstream bug, maybe related to this bug? Is there anything I can do?
Sorry if the answer is obvious, but I really do not feel like I understand this python stuff properly. Also, sorry for duplicating my AUR comments – it was only today that I figured I might get more response in the forum.

Don't panic, I don't. Just did not have time before now.
EDIT: Done. I am still throwing in the towel, though. I was trying to make a gtkmm-git PKGBUILD, because I need the latest gtkmm for development. However for gtkmm-git I needed gtk-git, for which I needed glib-git and pango-git. I successfully (at least it appears so) managed to install glib-git and pango-git, but now I get a linker error with gtk-git and will not spend another day looking for its source. I will just wait until gtkmm-3.1 is released.
EDIT 2: Alright, it appears there must have been something wrong with my "successfull" installs as well, as I just started a gtk app (Balsa) and it did not have any font, just rectangles for letters. Replacing glib-git and pango-git with their stable counterparts turned everything right again.

  • [Solved] Building vboxdrv with custom kernel

I noticed a Loading Modules     [FAIL] during boot yesterday so I decided to investigate it.
    [siegemachine@Siege-LapLinux ~]$ sudo modprobe vboxdrv
    Password:
    FATAL: Module vboxdrv not found.
    [siegemachine@Siege-LapLinux ~]$ sudo /etc/rc.d/vboxdrv setup
:: Removing VirtualBox kernel modules [DONE]
:: Compiling VirtualBox kernel modules [BUSY] Look at /tmp/vbox-install.log to find out what went wrong
Look at /tmp/vbox-install.log to find out what went wrong
Look at /tmp/vbox-install.log to find out what went wrong
    [siegemachine@Siege-LapLinux ~]$ yaourt -S kernel26-headers
warning: kernel26-headers-2.6.39.1-1 is up to date -- reinstalling
Now I read in this forum
    https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=107733
that if I have a custom kernel then I have to have the custom kernel-headers to go with it in order to build the virtualbox driver module.  The problem is the kernel I got is from the AUR
    [siegemachine@Siege-LapLinux ~]$ yaourt -Qi kernel26-kamal
    Name : kernel26-kamal
    Version : 2.6.39.1-1
And I've tried searching the AUR and there doesn't appear to be any kernel-headers to match the kernel.  When I build the kernel should I build it with the regular name and not with -kamal on the end of the kernel and see if that would work for building the virtualbox modules? Or should I boot off the regular kernel (I have both) and build it there, then reboot on this kernel and see if it works? Or finally, do I need to somehow build the kernel-headers for this kernel myself, install them, and then build the modules?
Last edited by SiegeMachine (2011-06-24 03:47:57)

Aha well my friend noticed in the PKGBUILD for kernel26-kamal actually builds the kernel headers for that kernel but it doesn't isntall them so I just downloaded the PKGBUILD and built it myself again with makepkg instead of using yaourt then I could install the header package and built the module after.  In the end all is good.

  • Building classes with labview (version 8+).

Just wondering if it is possible to build classes with labview and how this applies, starting a new project and want to design the software to be easily maintained.  I would like to be able to Inherit vi modules and possibly override portions of the inherited vi.  Also if anyone has any experience trying to impliment OOD features and can provide any feedback.  In addition are there any suggested standards to adhere to for labview development that might increase readability.  thanks Paul.

Come on now! Do you you really think you can get a good answer with such a broad question?
If you are uisng LabVIEW 8.2 or better then LVOOP is what you want to look into.
LAVA has a forum devoted to OOP in LV and can be found here. If you are not uisng LVOOP then that site is your best resource for help.
At this link you will find a document that talks about what went into LVOOP.
If you are an old time OOP type you will probably be disapointed that the is no "call by refence" (yet) and you will have to "roll-your-own" if you want a design that uses Active Objects.
I believe there is a style guide built into the LV help.
Did I cover the main points?
    Ben
BTW "LVOOP" = LabVIEW Object Oriented Programming and is often pronounced like it is a french word "la-voop".

  • Unanswered Questions in Flash Builder Forum

Hi Adobe - we have some unanswered questions lingering in the Flash Builder forum.
I am looking for a download link for Flash Builder 4.7 - for the non-creative-cloud version.
    OR
Will the creative cloud version work with my Flash Builder 4.7 Premium serial number and should I just install it through the creative cloud process?  I do not really want to go creative cloud at the moment - but I do not know if it is the same Flash Builder 4.7 file anyway and as soon as I put in my serial number it will take me off creative cloud.
So... looking for a Flash Builder 4.7 download link for my non creative cloud serial number.
    Urgent too - thanks!

    oops, sorry.
    here's fb 4.5, https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=flash_builder_php
you should be able to update this version to 4.7

  • Blu-ray image build fails with LPCM error

    hello,
    Using CS6 Encore
    I have created H.264 files (.264, .264.Stereo1) for a 1:04hr sequence using Matrox
    - 1920x1080p 23.98fps
    - both 27.0 and 30.0 target data rate, Constant Bit Rate CABAC, H.264 level of 4.1
and when I try to build a Bluray image using them, the build fails with the message:
Error: "invalid format", Code: "14", Note: "Bits per Sample of LPCM is illegal. 32"
I first got this error using target data rate of 30 (default) - then I dropped it to 27.0 and still got the error.
I then tested with a 1min H.264 file created using the same above settings and the image was successfully created.
In CS5.5, when I had similar errors, I dropped the target data rate to 27.0/27.1 and the build would complete without errors.
I can't find any discussion of the above error on the web or on these forums - perhaps my search terms were not good.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I was able to successfully build another 1hr blu-ray image with default settings (target data rate 30) a few days back.
In both successful and unsuccessful cases, the source sequence is a 1920x1080i 29.97fps Matrox AVI file, which I convert to 1920x1080p 23.98 fps in AME using Matrox to create the .264/.264.Stereo1 files, which I then import into CS6 Encore and create the image.
Encore CS5.5 was a pain in that it would hang on source files larger than 2GB - I came across a Adobe forum/support thread suggesting using the workaround of importing to the Encore timeline files <= 2GB in size.

  • Building portlets with PL/SQl vs java

    Hi
We are planing to use oracle 9iAS application server(Enterprise version)to build portal application.
Can someone suggest me which one should i use, building portlets with j2ee or building portlets with PL/SQL.
what are the advantages of web providers over database providers?which one is the best way of building portlets.

    Hello
I've been using Portal for years now, and I'm still developping in PL/SQL. It's very simple and quick to developp. I'm even not using any database providers, I'm just invoking my procedures via their URLs with some Ajax hidden components, and I could developp some screens like employees vacations managements, trombinoscope, portal statistics, etc ...
I learnt at Oracle how to developp some "true" portlets with DB providers but it's not usefull for me at this time as I don't need portlet customization etc.
    BUT
if I had to developp a really big project with several developpers I would use DB providers.
And maybe I would use Java but it takes rather long time to be efficient with this language and it needs to be a realy big project for I start using this language. And as explained above Java offers more compatibility with 3rd party products.
And last but not least, one has to know what Oracle is more and more dealing with Java, the next 11g version that has just released is much more using Java than 10g does, and that's true for every Oracle products.
So it's just a matter of skill and time.
    A.

  • Can I Design a Forum with using web dynpro for java?

    Hi All:
Can i design a forum with using web dynpro for java?
I want to design an application like a simple forum which maybe has many replies. So if i use
the UI technology "web dynpro for java", i will to create UI elements dynamically. How can i control this
dynamical UI elements to keep layout ?

    Hi,
    yes you can do that....
for exaple if you observe SDN...
    you can imagine like....
    A big Transparent Container(TC)....
Inside that number of other TCs(depending upon the question nd its replies...)....
In side each TC, again around 9 UIElements....
one for menioning what is the question/reply?
other for your description of question/reply...
    other for your name,
    displaing your fourm point... etc...
    So it will be
for(loop till your (Question+No of replies))
    Create Transparent Container....
    Add Childs to the Container...
    Decide your layout....
In case if you want to know how to create UIElements dynamically....

  • Flash Builder 4 with Flex SDK 4.0 for Intel App Up

There is some misinformation on Intel AppUp and the Melrose FAQ about being able to publish with Flash Builder 4.
    Intel App Up Program Submission
    According to http://appdeveloper.intel.com/en-us/article/adobe-air-packaging-guide-atom-developer-progr am-submissions
"AIR app must be built using Flex Builder 3 with Flex SDK 3.5a.  Currently Flex Builder 4 with Flex SDK 4 is not supported."
    Melrose FAQ
    According to http://learn.adobe.com/wiki/display/melrose/Melrose+Developer+FAQ
"Q: Are there system requirements for enabling try and buy in AIR apps using Melrose?
A: You must have Adobe Flex Builder 3 or greater and Adobe AIR 1.5.3 or greater."
Is the Intel App Up statement correct?  If it is, could I get an explanation why?  I've been waiting for the last 3 months waiting for the Melrose SDK to deploy to Intel App Up and now I can't even submit my application.
    Thanks.

The current version of Melrose supports Flex 3.5 SDK for AIR applications running on AIR 1.5.3 runtime or higher. You can use Adobe Flex Builder 3 with Flex 3.5 SDK or Adobe Flash Builder 4 with Flex 3.5 SDK.
Support for Flex 4.1 SDK for AIR applications running on AIR 2.0 runtime should be available within a few weeks. Please note that we will not be able to support Flex 4.0 SDK because of certain technical challenges.
