Building index from multiple master and child relationship tables

Hello,
My question is:
Is it possible to create the index for master and child tables?
If yes, can you please point me out to any links or give me an example.
Actually i just followed this below link to create the index using multiple tables
Building index from multiple tables for text search
I am able to create the index using above link, but problem accured , when i search for one master data column value then it is returning many rows with same master data for each child row.
for example
SELECT
a.conc_program_name,
a.conc_program_desc,
b.param_name
FROM a_master a, b_child b
WHERE b.report_dtls_id = a.report_id
AND CONTAINS (a.dummy, 'PAY') > 0
Which retruns
PAY Master A
PAY Master B
PAY Master C
Please let me know is there any way i can restrict this to single row with concatination of child data like
PAY Master A B C
Another doubt is ,i have the column value like p_consolidation_set_id,when i give this in CONTAINS (a.dummy, 'p_consolidation_set_id') > 0 ,then not able to get the any results.
please let me what shall i do for this issue.
Thanks

There are various ways to concatenate the values. One nice generic solution is to use Tom Kyte's stragg function:
http://asktom.oracle.com/pls/ask/f?p=4950:8:::::F4950_P8_DISPLAYID:2196162600402
If p_consolidation_set_id is a variable name, not a value, then do not put quotes around it.

  • Issue with Master and child relationship, viewlink

    Hi Frnds,
In one of our custom pages we have Master child relationship between Invoice lines and their distributions.
Things work absolutely fine when total no of distributions(say 10) are equal to max no of distributions that can be shown on 1st page(i.e equal to advancetable property value 'Records displayed'..say set as 10)
What happens is when in advance table I click on next button to navigate to next set of records and then edit some field that have any event..ppr or lov my control by default gets transferred to very first set of records.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also this happens only when no of invoice lines are more than 1.
I not sure whether the issue is with VL,VO,AO or the advance table property.
One simple solution that I have tried is...getting back the focus to the row that is updated but it causes some other problem.
Any pointers will be very helpful
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi any help???

  • Building index from multiple tables for text search

    Hallo,
I had a look at how to build a index table to optimize search with Oracle text.
At the moment we are using a JOIN of tables to search for a text in several fields located in different tables.
    My question is:
Is it possible to create that index table from several tables?
If yes, can you point me out to any links or give me an example.
So far, all the examples I read were about 1 table only.
    Thanks
    Elisabeth

The following is an extension of the original example. It uses ctx_ddl.sync_index to synchronize the index and shows the changes in one of the index tables and shows that the query finds the newly synchronized data. It also shows how this only happens when the column that the index is on is updated. In this example, the index is on the dummy column. The first update does not update the dummy column, so the ctx_ddl.sync_index command does not synchronize the new data. The second update does update the related dummy column, so ctx_ddl.sync_index does synchronize the new data. Lastly, I showed what happens to one of the index tables when you rebuild the index. Notice the reduction in rows in the index table after the rebuild process. You could also rebuild online or drop and recreate the index.

  • Setting bind variable value programmatically for master and child VO's

    Defined following BC:

Try executing the vo1 query before setting the bind variable for vo2, then execute the vo2 query (if that's what you want to do).

  • MM_SPSTOCK Archive Batch Master and Stock Relevant tables - Display options

    Hello,
We are archiving Batch Master and Special Stock tables. We have batch configuration set up at material level.
We have realised SAP does not provide a infostructure to display through SARI archived batches. Also read program MMREO210 is not very elegant and required the archive session to display further information.
We know that this object allow to archive partially: stock level (MCHB), plant level (MCHA) and finally if all dependencies are okay, batch master (MCH1).
Can we display archived batch data using any standard SAP transaction? As QA03 for Archived Lots or similar.
How should we create the infostructure for SARI access? MCH1-MCHA mapping? We are having problems when only MCHB entry is archived.
We are interested at least in a list of material / batch / plant archived with production date, SLED... key batch master info mainly.

You could perhaps use [merge | http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14200/statements_9016.htm#i2091840] ?
Or perhaps you could use [multitable inserts | http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14200/statements_9014.htm#i2125362] ?

  • Customer Master -- Parent + Child Relationship

    Hi
I have an requirement from user asking me to set Parent -Child relationship for a customer.
Correct me if i am wrong.
    I have customer numbers 1000 and 2000.
In "payment transactions" tab , i have included 2000 in "Alternat. Payer" field. So now 2000 will be the alternative payer for 1000 customer.
I want to see this relationship in FBL5N. In what way should i ensure that the functionality is maintained.
    Please let me know
    Thanks
    Rajanikanth.

Please note I do not respond direct through e mail, only on this forum.
If the customer has not been set up correctly there will not be any entries in the branch field.
As mentioned you need to have the parent customer number set as the "payer " partner function in the child's customer account number.
This will mean you are selling to the chil, but the parent is paying, and this is where the invoice will go to.
If you have not set the master data up like this, then there will not be any values there for you.
Please award points if this is helpful and has been helpful so far.

  • Help Displaying Parent and child relationship on one page

    Hello,
I have 2 tables, lets say Parent and Child, that I want to display both tables on the same page. Basically I'm looking at trying to split the page in half, the top being the Parent table and the bottom being the Child table. When the user selects a parent, I want the Child table to display that parent's child/children. I don't know if this is possible though JDeveloper but I would appreciate all the help I can get
    Thanks,
    Matt

This is a trivial master detail task for ADF.
Basically, in the data control palette - stand on the child node that is inside the parent node - drag it over to your page and drop it as a master detail - this will get you what you want.
More information is in the ADF Tutorial:

  • Collecting Notifications from multiple servers and applications

    Hi,
I'm researching JMX technology for our Enterprise-wide monitoring needs.
I've got a good understanding of how to create jmx connections and instrument resources for monitoring in a 1-to-1 jmx client to application scenario.
However, I need to manage (and collect notification alerts) from multiple servers/applications.
Any ideas where to start learning how to do this?
    Thanks,
    Jon

    Hi Gavin,

You can email me privately at jcolby550 "at" hotmail "dot" com, maybe we can share ideas.

  • Unable to use AirPlay from multiple iOS and MacBook pro

HI, I seem to be having issues using AirPlay From multiple iOS devices.
I have the following devices, iphone 6 plus, iPad air (both Gen 1 and 2) an iPad 2 and a MacBook Pro running Yosemit. I also have 2 Apple TVs (both gen 1 and 2).
Recently I have found that I am unable to use AirPlay on any of the iOS devices to either Apple TVs, the MacBook Pro will Airplay mirror ok, I am however able to use iTunes shairing from a Windows 8PC. I have restarted and also reset both Apple TVs and my router, I have also reset the connection settings on all the iOS devices but still can't resolve the issue.
The Apple TVs have Internet connection so I can't see any issues network connections.
ANyone else got got any Ideas?
    Thanks

Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
Check AirPlay is turned on on the Apple TV (turn it off and on if it already is)
Check that both devices are on the same network (Settings > Wifi, on the mobile device and Settings > General > Network, on the Apple TV).
Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Restart your router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
    Restart your mobile device.
