Building JDK 1.4.2.13 in Windows

I am trying to build JDK 1.4.2.13 in Windows. I am using Windows XP (instead of NT) and is the only difference from the informaiton given in build instructions document part of JDK 1.4.2.13. I am trying to build a JRE package from the JDK source which is similar like downloaded JRE file.
Here are the problems:
1. When I build the package, it is is not picking up the latest object files from J2SDK 1.4.2.13 but old files that were part of 1.4.2.0 (JDK 1.4.2). Are these new object files supposed to get updated when the JRE is installed on the target machine or they should overwrite the object files in package itself.
2. The package got built but while installing it complained about plugin.jar file being missing. I traced and found that for WIN32 plugin.jar does not get built ie BUILD_PLUGIN sets to false if win32 folder is not there. But this plugin.jar file is present in the downloaded JRE file.
3. I removed custom action for plugin.jar and retried installation. This time it failed with an error of InstallJavaJRERegistrySettings having improper arguments. This API is part of RegUtil dll which I tried with different copies but all returned same error.
4. I removed the above custom action and able to install JRE on the target machine. But it got installed under D:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2 instead of j2re1.4.2.13. I confirmed that the JDK_VERSION property gets a value of 1.4.2 only.
5. java -version returns an error which could be the reason for 'InstallJavaJRERegistrySettings' not getting executed.
How can I get updates for installation files in JDK source.
I had created a message in another link but could not get much help. That link can be accessed in
http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5119418&tstart=0

are you using any IDE for build purposes? Are you using ant? what is the error that you get during the build process. Are you sure that your env is setup correctly, meaning, Path, classpath, Java_home, ant_home etc. depending on the tool you are using for the build.

By "Novell 6" do you perhaps mean NetWare 6 (Novell is the company not
the product)? Does "6" imply 6.0 or 6.5? The latter is more suited to
    being virtualised.

  • Forms Builder 10.1.2.3 Crash in Windows 7

Followed the installation steps mentioned in metalink note: 559067.1 [How to Install Developer Suite 10.1.2.3 on Windows Vista or Windows 7 ].
Followed the installation steps till point 7.
After the installation when I tried opening the forms builder (ORACLE_HOME/BIN\frmbld.exe) it immediately crash after oracle logo with the error message "Oracle Forms Designed had stopped working"
    Machine details:
    Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
    Macbookpro 2012
This is urgent. Any quick help is highly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Lakshmanan AK

I've installed Oracle Developer Suite (ODS) 10g R2 on numerous Windows 7 systems and have only encountered an issue with Forms Builder crashing a couple of times. Each time, I've been able to resolve the problem by modifying the OS PATH environment variable to ensure there is not a conflict between Oracle versions. If you only have ODS 10g installed, this should not be a problem, but if you have different versions of Forms installed - this could very well be the problem. My you might want to take a look at the OS PATH and make sure all Windows related directories are listed first. Then list the ODS directories second and lastly, list everything else. Oracle has a bad habit of putting it's program directories before the operating system directories.
It is also possible that your installation media is bad since your install is crashing in Windows XP mode as well. That being the case, you may want to download the installer again.

  • JDK 1.6 u12 installation on Windows XP as non-admin user

I am working on a machine which does not grant my user the admin rights. I had wanted to use JDK with Netbeans. The Netbeans was available as ZIP file, but it required pre-installed JDK. I am not able to install JDK (latest version 1.6 u12) as non-admin user. Is this even possible and how?
Operating System : Windows XP (SP3)
    JDK Version : 1.6 update 12

    Thanks,

Contact your admin and ask him to install or to give you local admin rights.

  • Flash Builder 4.7 x64 not launching in Windows 8

I have reinstalled FB many times on my machine and on each installation after a while Flash Builder stops opening. I keep my task manager open to see what's going on but the process doesn't seem to start, or if it does, it closes immediatly. Where can I see the error log? I can start Flash Builder normally if I use FlashBuilderC.exe

This may very well not be your problem, but after I downloaded FB 4.7 and messed with some things I had this same issue (Windows 7).
Turns out it was looking for the last workspace it used (since I don't have "Ask for workspace on startup" checked) and because I moved the folder, it couldn't find it.  As a result, I'd see the process pop up in Task Manager, sit there a bit, then peace out.

  • Can i build an application with Labview 2009 for Windows 7?

    Hello
i use Labview 2009 SP1 and the application builder 2009 SP1. If i install the application on win7 this message is display:
Labview Run Time Engine depends on pruduct with upgrade code (...) version 9.0.301, language {} which is not in distribution.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Is this an issue with Windows 7 having both installation folders for 32 bit (C:\Program Files (x86)) and 64 bit (C:\Program Files)?
I had an application built on an XP machine and installed on a Windows 7 machine which was looking for files in C:\Program Files when they were actually installed in C:\Program Files (x86) - because it was 32-bit application.  After installation I had to move the files from 1 location to the other to make it work.

  • Need HELP getting my signed certificate to be recognized by Extension Builder in Eclipse! Getting Error in Windows!

When I use Extension Builder 3 in Eclipse to package my files into a .zxp ... I get an 'invalid certificate' error.  Working in Windows, with Photoshop CC 2014.
This .p12 certificate does currently work find in Configurator 4 for my CS6 panels.
Please help me get this working! Thank you!

    Hi hdbrew,
"extension doesn't contain a valid signature" is a warning message that I've got in the past when Adobe Extension Manager (AEM) wasn't up to date - so you might check whether you've the latest version here: https://creative.adobe.com/en/products/extension-manager.
Paid vs. Free (self signed) certificates: I had a paid one in the past (no AEM warnings) but there are a couple of shortcomings IMHO:
    1. With Adobe Add-ons, AEM and its warning alerts are bypassed altogether (files are deployed via the CC app) - so from the user point of view there's no difference between self-signed and paid certificates.
    2. An extension signed with a paid certificate stops working when the certificate expires. Self signed ones keep working even past the expiration date.
And three, I find it "peculiar" to pay a third party authority to certificate Adobe that I am who I am in order to be allowed to developed for... Adobe itself (lot of words to say: free is cheaper ).
Extension Builder for bundling: as I wrote, personally I don't use EB - it's not been updated in a while (it's been acknowledged by the EB team too - who has kept releasing updates as CEP libraries) and I prefer a simple code editor + command line for signing and packaging, so others can be more helpful than me.
Yet, if you don't need to package an hybrid extension, it's a matter of a simple line, such as:
    ./ZXPSignCmd -sign yourSourceFolder yourDestFolder/yourExtensionName.zxp yourCertFile.p12 yourCertPassword -tsa https://timestamp.geotrust.com/tsa
Conversely, if you need to go hybrid (i.e. to deploy extra stuff alongside with your extension, e.g. a plugin) it's a matter of compiling an MXI file and the whole process is slightly more complex. Anyway, you can find information in the blogpost I mentioned earlier (the full series of 16 Tips so far is here).

  • AS 3 project swf compiled in flash builder(on mac) does not run on windows 7 machine

    Hey there!!
I have a as3 project that I'm building using flash builder 4.5. When I run or debug in FB it's fine, but when I move it to the windows 7 machine its going to live on nothing shows up. Not even the first function or any traces. I have tried to make the project into an air app but when I try to run it, the paths seem to be all messed up. I'm ok with dealing with the path issue later but for now and for testing I need to be able to just grab the swf that FB spits out and test it on the machine. Before you say use the flash ide the other developer uses only fb so if I can get it to work they will have to come to me everytime to compile if they just want to test something.
    Thanks
    Jorge

ok guys get ready for this one!
there where a couple of issues. yes it did help that i exported the project to the debug folder instead of  deploy folder we set up. but it still wasnt 100% right. so, one issue is that our asset swc was huge. we had everything under the sun in there. so, it would not compile correctly. how did i find this out you ask? i tried to run it in just the flash ide and it would compile so i knew something was super wrong. second, at some point somehow some of our text fields in the asset swc where converted to one of those new fangled tlf type text fields. we never added that swc to the compile path. somehow flash builder just ignored that and still built the swf but it mustve been corrupted to begin with.
so the morale of the story keep an eye on your assets!!

  • Classpath for getting JDK 1.3 to work on Windows XP

    Hi,
I've just DL and installed JSDK 1.3 on my home computer which is running Windows XP. I know that I have to set the classpath in order to run Java properly on my pc but what exactly do I set it to?
I tried to set it but it still doesn't work and comes up with a No class found error or something similar.
Does anybody know what to set the classpath to be? when i run a java command from the command line it works i.e. C:>java HelloWorld
but when i try anything else like C:>javac HelloWorld.java, it just doesnt work.
    Any help would be welcome
    Thanks
    C.W.

If you do a java -version you will probably be running microsoft java. Set your system path to the where you installed the jdk along with the bin. (i.e. c:\jdk-1.3.0\bin) This will let you find all of the java exe's when you are in the dos command line. You can set the path by right clicking on my computer and finding the environment settings button. Also set your classpath in here, for instance .\; if you want it to find the current directory you are working on or I usually set it to at least .\;c:\java; so I can throw all my api's I download into it. Hope this helps.
    FYI
path is where the system looks for executible files and
classpath is where java looks for class files.

Reports Builder 11g doesn't work on 64-bit OS-system (linux also). You can only use an VM-maschine with 32-bit OS or wait until oracle fineshed the Builder for 64-bit.

  • Building 32 bit version of ROracle on windows

I have not been able to build 32 bit version through Zip file provided. It always build 64 bit version. Commands doesn't give any error but it doesn't create directory for 32 bit version. I want to Rscript and since it doesn't have 32 bit DLL I couldn't use Rscript.

The recommended method of building binary R packages is to use:
    R CMD INSTALL --build pkg
where pkg is the name of a source tarball (in the .tar.gz format, e.g., ROracle_1.1-11.tar.gz).
This operates by first installing the package and then packing the installed binaries into the appropriate binary package file for the particular platform.
The ROracle installation instructions contains the complete set of steps and prerequisites for building a Windows 32bit version using the package source.

  • Is the JDK (1.2.2) compatible with Windows 2000 Pro?

    Hi Friends!,
It seems that the JDK - Version: 1.2.2 - is not
compatible with Windows 2000 Pro. I know
how to configure the kit in this operating system
even if I'am not able to understand the reason for which
I receive the error in the Command Prompt window - the JAVAC
    utility says:
    "Can't read: BigDebt.java - 1 error".
I have added the following command line from
    the System Control Panel->System->Environment->System Variables:
    C:\jdk1.2.2\bin ( where I have installed the kit ).
I also have added the CLASSPATH command line there:
set CLASSPATH=.;C:\jdk1.2.2\lib\tools.jar but the problem persists
and I'am unable to create the BigDebt.class file.
To avoid another nervous wreck please send me the instructions
to configure correctly the JDK (1.2.2) for Windows 2000 Pro.
    Thanks.
    Julian Jerman - from Italy.

when you runs the java compiler like this
    javac BigDebt.java
You need to be in the directory of your BigDebt.java file located.
BTW, it is kind of weird that your java file is saved to System32 directory, there is no benefit doing that.

  • Installing JDK after upgrading JRE several times - WIndows XP

I am not certain if this is the correct forum for posting JDK installation questions (for Windows XP)? If not, please direct me to the correct one.
I would like to install the JDK for the very first time but I noticed that I have at least two versions of the JRE and a few updates for both. Should I uninstall both JRE's and their updates before installing the latest JDK OR do I merely overinstall?
    I have the following:
    J2SE Runtime 5.0 Update 10
    J2SE Runtime 5.0 Update 11
    Java 2 Runtime, SE v1.4.2_01
    Java 6 Update 20
Java SE Runtime 6 Update 1
Not sure what the difference between J2SE and Java 6 and whether or not I need both to run applications.
Thanks in advance for clearing up my confusion.

You do eventually want to do programming, right?

You only need one instance of Java to rule them all.

Well I would make your next step finding that out. I suggest you start your adventures here: http://download.oracle.com/javase/tutorial/

  • JDK 1.4.2 version for Windows Server 2003/x64 on Intel Xeon 64 bit processo

    Hi,
I'm currently installing a SAP Netweaver Server on a Windows Server 2003/X64 (Intel Xeon CPUs).
The server requires a JDK 64 bit with minimum version 1.4.2_09. Version 1.5.0_00 and higher are not supported by SAP.
I have searched on the J2SE 1.4.2 download page and I haven't found any windows 64 bit except for Itanium processors.
SAP mention clearly on its web portal that it supports Windows Server 2003/X64 64bit with Sun JSE 1.4.2 64 bit.

    Hello,
I ran into the same problem searching for the 1.4.2 JDK for Windows x64 platform and found this discussion post. It was helpful!
Could you tell me where to download the JCE policy files from? Do they need to match the same JDK version (1.4.2)?
The Install Guide for SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SR3 Java on Windows MS SQL Server says to download the JCE policy files for your platform (Windows x64) from http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads. But I could only find jce_policy-6.zip. Is that the right JCE policy files for Windows 2003 x64 64bit platform for SUN JSE 1.4.2 64bit?
