See this Tutorial for how audio works in iMovie. In general, you drag the left or right edge of your audio clip.
You can also use the Clip Trimmer. Click the Gear icon in the music track and select the Clip Trimmer.

  • How to add multiple images to a JLabel from the jar file

I want to add multiple images in a JLabel but the icon property only allows me to add one. I thought I could use html rendering to add the images I need by using the <img> tab, but I need to use a URL that points to the image.
How do I point to an image inside the jar file? If I can't, is there another way to show multiple images in a JLabel from the jar file?

Thanks, it works perfectly. It's a really smart way of fixing the problem too :)
I also found your toggle button icon classes which is something I've also had a problem with.
    Thanks.

  • Import project from iMovie 10.0.1 in the Final Cat Pro X 10.0.9

How can I import a project from iMovie 10.0.1 in the Final Cat Pro X 10.0.9?
If the file before the project was in the ' Movies ' folder, now there is no such file. There's only ' Library iMove ', but no file that can be moved in the Final Cat Pro.

Thanks for your confirmation!  It seems to me this is the situation after tons of research.....
I really don't understand Apple's logic/philosophy now.... in the new iMovie... it takes out the keywords which is extremely important to anyone with many clips.  I don't mind to pay for the expensive FCPX but I am told that FCPX cannot migrate the iMovie library..... sigh....... what **** they are thinking....
BTW, it seems the "Send project to Final Cut Pro" function doesn't support sending even the "Event". It supports only sending project with the clips associated with the project.  There is no way to send the clip without associated to project.  Anyone can confirm it?

Yes, if you duplicate without the render files and delete the original project you lose the render files. But render files get recreated - automatically if you have it set in the preferences (which is the default option). It just takes time.

  • How can I save images and text data to the same file?

I have been looking at ways to do this for a while. My main VI saves the raw data to a text file which the users then import to Excel and plot. I am trying to simplify this process and have been looking at ways to accomplish this task. I want to be able to save the raw data to a file and then save the Labview graph as well. This will eliminate the tedious task of importing the raw data into Excel and plotting it. I can save the raw data to its own file and I can use the Get Image method for the graph and save it to its own file. I am currently using the .png format. Is there a way of saving both to the same file ie, importing the image into Excel or Word etc. Before I go off doing a science project I wanted to see if anyone else had experience completing this task and had any recommendations. Thanks in advance for any help.

well ther are a couple of ways. You could use the standard report generation VI's and make a complete report with the image of the graph embedded into the report with the raw data or you could use activeX and control excel thru LV and put the raw data into excel directly and have excel graph the data without any user interaction. I have posted a slew of VI's on the excel board if you do not have the report generation toolkit. If you could tell me which way you want to go I could possibly send you an example.
For more information and some sample VI's and tool kits, you can go to the excel board

  • Can I edit a HD project in SD, then export HD from the original files?

I have a project that has been shot in HDV that, for a couple of reasons, I have to edit on my laptop instead of my rather powerful desktop. As well as it being HDV (1080 50i), it's also going to need lots of effects adding to it. Now, my laptop is pretty good for a laptop, but I know it's not going to be able to handle this - it plays back HDV choppily at the best of times, so this would give it a heart attack.
So I was wondering - would it be possible to take the captured HDV files, export them as SD files (like standard DV Microsoft AVI), which my laptop can handle easily, edit using those files but then, at the end, export the video in 1080 50i from the original captured HDV files (using my desktop if necessary)?
I think I've seen or heard this discussed before, because that's where I got the idea from. So is it possible, and if so, how?

Thanks for the quick response. I've just read through that other thread, thanks for the link. Also thanks for making me realise that what I'm looking for is called proxy editing - if I'd known that, I would have found much more useful information when I first googled for it! I've actually just tried something similar, playing around with the first 30 seconds of my footage. I've exported it as two files - HD.mpeg and SD.avi, created a new project, imported the AVI, did a simple edit, added some lighting effects, saved it, then closed. I then moved the AVI file and reopened the project - of course it told me the file was missing and asked me where it was. I pointed it to HD.mpeg instead of SD.avi and it accepted it - the project is now in HD with the edit and effects intact. That's basically exactly what I wanted, there's just one problem I can foresee - I'll have to edit the 720x576 footage in 1440x1080 sequences, leaving a huge margin around the edges in the sequence monitor. I can live with that by zooming in on it, until I have to crop a shot, then it's going to be tricky to get it scaled and positioned correctly. I'm going to make some kind of guide to overlay it, see how that works out - it should do me for this one project.

  • Importing video fine, but converting in iTunes lacks audio in the new file!

Only problem I'm having is that video files I convert to work with my Ipod in iTunes, the new m4v file created has no audio, both in iTunes and when I play it on my Ipod...
Help greatly apreciated, been trying to figure this out with no luck..
Note: Original files are MPEG and work perfectly fine, even when them themselves are played in iTunes!
Is it me, or the files themselves???
    Message was edited by: POWERZ

Ok, thank you, and this is what I have come to. Just one last opinion if I may. My files are MPEG1 Muxed and so cannot be exported or edited using Quicktime (even Pro).. Though a recommendation was given to use a third-party utility to convert the muxed file to a format that does allow me to edit or export.
Simply, what formats am I to convert into is all I need now??...
    Thanks again.

  • When syncing Aperture projects/albums to an iOS device, are the original files synced or are they the previews?

My concern is that sincing the original RAW files will eat up the space on my iPhone quickly.
So what size/quality are the photos from Aperture synced to my iPhone (or iOS device)
    Thanks in advance.

Are you asking about syncing using iTunes?
iTunes will sync jpeg previews images to your iOS devices, that are reduced in size. It creates a cache inside your photo libraries - the iPod Photo Cache.
See: iTunes: Understanding the iPod Photo Cache folder
    or: Syncing photos using iTunes
If you want to have the original raw photos on your iDevices, upload them using the Photo Stream; that supports a variety of other formats ( JPEG, TIFF, PNG, and most RAW photo formats).

Um...have you compared when specifying v = 0x0FFFF, as an arbitrary example?
Edit All right I'll be a little more specific. How the heck would your Test1 method know if it's only being passed int values <= 255?
Edited by: endasil on Nov 6, 2007 8:48 PMI see, well, why would it care? all it does is take int and store it into a byte. what else could it do with an int and byte array? Also, if you wanted to check for values <= 255 one could simply add asm code to do that, after all, Test2.test2() has a signature of ([BI) that is (byte[] ba, int v). So, if the method wants to fool around with v* it can iload_1* and do any comparison tests, ifeq* etc..., and latter stuff it into byte array using bastore* without the unnecessary i2b* call.
I just don't see the use of the i2b* instruction if bastore* could careless. Will this cause the stack to become unlined and cause trouble program down-the-line in execution? I am thinking that I loaded an int*, +4bytes+, but only consumed 1byte. But now that I think about it, iload_1 loads an int* onto local heap so it should get cleaned up when the program exits. So, as long as I made bastore* the last instruction in the program I shouldn't have a problem. Or maybe this doesn't matter either?
*Also, since ba is an byte[] why would I want to check it for anything other than a byte value? if I wanted to get an int I would have created an int[]*
My point is that as long as one wants to stuff an int into a byte array the i2b instruction is overkill, albeit not much, and I just do see the usefulness of it.
This is for when I do something like, byte_array[i] = '-', and the compilers say loss of information and I cast '-' to (byte)'-', meaning I don't care if I loss any information. but it called i2b anyways byte_array[i] = '-' yields the same result.
I just didn't understand what was behind this.
Does that answer that question or am I missing anything?

  • Using the Image Processor together with an action - original files won't get closed

    Hi,
I just made an action to position my website's name at the bottom left of my photos and to use it then together with the  Image Processor.
When I tried it out, I realized, that my whole pc slowed extremely down. Then I saw that the original files didn't get closed during the image processing process ...
Then I made some tests and the result was, that the Image Processor doesn't close the original files if the action in use has more than 26 steps.
Could someone please check out if its the same with his/her Photoshop? I use Photoshop CS6 on Windows 7.
    Thanks a lot!

    Hi,
The problem is caused by your project not 'knowing' about the
picture. Robohelp will automatically include all images that are
embedded in HTML docs, but if they are only displayed via a link,
they do not form part of the files list that is created in the
    resulting .HHP file.
A remedy: to resolve this in the past, I've created a 'dummy
page' that is not indexed or included in the TOC, and contains
embeds of all of these pictures that aren't directly set in the
HTML. Make sure it is included with the correct conditional build
tags and recompile, you should find that the linked image now shows
    up in the CHM okay.

  • How can I export a folder of images using the original file data?

I have edited my images within the "Develop" mode, but now need to export as jpg's using those settings (note: some are now B&W) and then I also need to process as jpg's using the original settings (color), so my client has all the original color files as well. My files were all shot in the Nikon RAW format, but I can't figure out how to export all the images without using the develop adjustments I have made to each file, including having changed many to B&W. Is there a way to do this? Note that I also don't want to lose all of my adjustments, so can't just reset them all, if that's even an option.

    2) Now I need to export all the images that have at least 2 stars
(around 1200), so I can give the client a folder of "originals." This
way, they can view images that didn't make the final edit (album) and
will also be able to print an image that I converted to B&W for
    their album in color.
First of all, I think making a backup of your directory (using Explorer or Finder or whatever) might be prudent before you start this little experiment!
So, all of your originals are in one folder, and ~1200 of those are 2-star and 384 are 5-star and have edits, correct?
What might be easiest (although not the most effecient) is to just click on the folder, then use the Library Filter to select everything that's 2 stars and above. This will select all the images that need exporting.
Then follow Jao's instructions for creating a new collection and removing the edits. Make SURE you create your new collection with VIRTUAL COPIES or you're going to wipe out everything you've done.
Your new collection should then  have virtual copies of everything 2-star and above, in their original unadulterated state. You can then export to JPG.
I think from now on I will export those files with 2 stars first, then narrow down the the final 384 and make adjustments
You could always create a collection of your "keepers" (2-stars and above). Then, for every image you want to edit, be sure to edit the virtual copy  and then put it in a subcollection under the main collection.
That way you kind of have a history of what you did, and you can export (or re-export) at any time. You don't even really need to keep the exported JPGs around, since you can always re-export.
Scott Kelby has a Lightroom book that illustrates this kind of workflow much better than I can. I highly recommend it.

  • Can I  rip the audio from a video file?

I have a video file with a band singing on it. I have an ipod nano, so I can't import the video with the singing onto my ipod. Is there anyway to rip the audio from the video file and put that onto my ipod?
    -Thanks

Open the video in Quicktime Player.
    Select the Export menu item.
Change the Export type to "Sound to Wave".
Save the WAV file somewhere with the default settings.
Load the WAV file into iTunes and use iTunes to convert it to AAC for the Nano.

  • .swf image comes out lighter than the source

I'm creating a simple animation in AE from a jpeg image. I bring up some text on the image. When I create the .swf file, the background that the text appears on is lighter than the original jpeg in the Safari browser. Since this animation "tiles" into the page with other jpegs sharing the same background image, the light background produced by the .swf stands out from the rest of the page.
This only seems to appear in the Safari browser under OSX. FireFox doesn't have this problem. However, since I need this to work across all browsers, I need to solve this issue.
If I make a .mov file instead of a .swf, it also appears lighter than the source.
In fact, if I simply take a jpeg image and create a 1 frame .swf from it, it comes out lighter than the original. I'm not doing anything to the image (as far as I know) that would make it lighter.
Any insight to what is causing this problem would be greatly appreciated.

It's ColorSync and how it is used throughout your system, even if only for on-screen Gamma correction. In so many words: There's nothing you can do about it but to reset your settings and turn it off wherever that is possible. Not on my Mac ATM and not using Safari anyways, but I'm reasonably certain there's an option for using the system color settings somewhere. Depending on how you process the JPEG you may also need to fiddle with the color settings for the Adobe suite. Flash itself is not color profiled, but it will respect embedded proviles by ways of its image loaders that it shares with Photoshop and al lthe other apps. Beyond that I wouldn't get too crazy over it: Color mismatches and shifting alignment are a natural bane of all web development, and even if you get it right on one machine, the next day another user will tell you that it looked crap on his machine in Konqueror on Linux.... More than anything else, webdesign is a matter of using the design to cheat around these limitations, unfortunately. Perhaps you can use a large background Flash file instead of the original JPEG and then put your HTML content onto a separate DIV layer...? ;-)
