Burning files to CD doesn't involve Reader. You would burn a PDF to CD the exact same way you would burn any other file to CD.
What you need is a forum for your OS or if you have CD burning software, a forum for that.

  • Burn a PDF file onto a CD that contains music

Hello, I'm currently in the process of completing a physical version of some music I made. I also want to include the lyric booklet PDF file but I would like to keep the CD as a music CD so there won't be any compatibility problems. Is there any way to burn the PDF file onto the CD with the music without sacrificing playability? An album that I know has done this is Fall Out Boy's "Folie a Deux". They put some files onto the CD that would allow you to download additional content. Thank you for any help!

I know you can to this with Toast, Roxio Toast 11 Titanium - CD, DVD, Blu-Ray Burning Software Program for Mac  I've done it before. Toast calls this an "enhanced audio CD". I don't know if you can do this with iTunes or Disc Utility, but probably not.

  • Will iTunes or QuickTime Player let you burn an mp4 file onto an audio CD?

I want to burn some MP4 videos (i.e., the audio portion only)  onto audio CDs; I guess that would mean converting to .aiff files, right?
Can this be done in either iTunes 10.6.1 or QuickTime Player 10.0? I'm running Mac OS 10.6.8 on a Mac mini, if that makes any difference.
Or do I have to find some third party software to do the conversion and then burn the CDs?
Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.

Depends on how you plan to play them back. AIFF can be played on almost any commercial audio CD player. MP3 files can be played on most current CD players. Apple Lossless or AAC could be used if playback is through your computer. The choice is really yours.

Yes, but the work flow may be different depending on which software and audio compression format you use. E.G., QT 7 Pro could extract the MP4's AAC audio track directly to an new file without conversion if AAC is your target format. As previously mentioned, QT X could be use to recompress the MP4 to an audio only AAC file. The free MPEG Streamclip or QT 7 Pro apps could be used to convert the MP4's AAC directly AIFF files. Converted or extracted AAC files could be added to your iTunes library where iTunes could create and burn a "Playlist" of such files to CD using AAC, AIFF, Apple Lossless, MP3, or WAV compression formats dependin on your playback requirements. (Unfortunately, iTunes will not directly extract and reprocess/burn the AAC audio directly from MP4 files already in its library.

  • How to burn 23 AVI files onto DVD?

I am trying to figure out how to make a DVD of a tv show season which has 23 episodes for my kids.
How can I make a DVD with all these?
Do i have to convert them first or create a project and drag the AVI files in?
    Thanks

    Hi RIPNHL2005
Welcome to apple discussions. If you find that the avi file/s will not work within iDvd directly (and some will not since avi is simply a container format) then the best way I find is to first convert them with an app like Mpeg streamclip. There are at least two web locations where you can download this freeware and they are shown below.
    http://www.squared5.com/svideo/mpeg-streamclip-mac.html
    http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/video/mpegstreamclip.html
Assuming your episodes do not exceed 120 mins. per single layer dvd (or about twice that for dual layer media) then you can use iDvd thereafter.
However I do have an alternate suggestion also. I use software from Elgato / EyeTV3 in combination with EyeTV products to capture directly to my Hdd and then I can use Toast to burn them to Dvd thereafter. Works rather well and especially if I need to exceed 120 mins per dvd. Toast offers a fit to dvd option that you can't find within iDvd.

  • I have question regarding comment below - unable to burn a video file onto a DVD

Everytime I try to burn a video onto a blank DVD i get the following message - I would appreciate any help to resolve the problem.
The disc can’t be burned, because the device failed to calibrate the laser power level for this media.

    this could mean:
laser dirty - some people recommend 'cleaning disks', some say this would kill a drive finally
    or,
your kind of disk brand isn't 'first choice' for your kind of drive.
best track record on Apple drives: Verbatim or Taijo Yuden (hard to get outside Japan)
    or,
you did try to use DVD-Rom disks, instead of dvd-r/dvd+r

  • How do I put files onto a CD?

I am trying to "burn" five photograph files onto a CD.  I have the first one done with no trouble.  But when I try to place the second on, I get the following message:  Current disc cannot be overwritten.  Please insert a different disc.  What am I doing wrong?  And can I put all five files in the same album on the same disc? I am using Photoshop Element 9.  I am stumped so far.  All help appreciated...doc

yes you can do that , just create a new catalog and import those 5 images. Select File->Copy/Move to Removable media.
If you wish to move the files to  a new location then select Move else just for Copy option.  Hope it works !

  • Burn multiple video files to one single DVD

I am converting a ton of old home videos to digital format, and I want to store them on DVDs.  I'm using Elgato Video Capture to connect my VCR to my Mac which works fine for creating mp4s.  I can then "right-click" on the mp4 file name in Finder and one of the options is "Burn [filename] to Disc".  This is fine.  But my problem is that many of these videos are fairly short clips and I don't want to use one single DVD for each one.
Does anyone know any way that I can burn multiple mp4 files onto one single DVD?  Whenever I go to burn one of them to Disc, it seems to want a blank disc each time.
I suspect there is software out there that I could purchase, but I was hoping not to spend much money on this project.  Any way of doing this in the standard Mac software?  Or maybe a not too expensive DVD burner software I could buy which would allow this?
    Thanks!

  • Burning music and video as data files onto DVD-R?

How can I (using what program) burn music and videos to a DVD-R on my MBP? To be clear, I just want to use the DVD's as storage, not to watch them on a DVD player
Thanks (and sorry for the potentially stupid question)

Put a CD-R in your optical drive. Drag the files you want onto the disk icon and then drag the disk to the trash. That'll burn the files onto the disk. Real simple.

  • Burn files onto DVD

Can someone explain how to burn files onto a blank DVD, please?  I have iMac with Lion and DVD-RW.  When I insert the DVD, no icon appears on my desktop.  If I go into the disk utility, the disk shows up there.  Then I click BURN, and a window opens up for me to select files.  But all the files are grayed out and non-functional.  What am I doing wrong?

  • Drag and drop file onto java app

    Hi,
I would like to drag and drop a file from windows explorer onto a panel in my java app.
All I need is that when the file is 'dropped', I can get a reference to the path of file.
    e.g.
    There is a file, C:\myFile.txt
There is a String in my program called 'filePath'.
I start my java app and dnd the file onto it.
I want the path of the file to be assigned to the filePath String.
I can then do more proccessing on the file which I already know how to do.
    Can anyone help.
    Thanks,
    Jim

    Tristan,
I am stuck in the same place. Perhaps we could work on this together.
I am trying to drag a single item from a JList to a text editor, Word, etc. I have two problems:
    1) I can't seem to get just the item in the JList to drag. It wants to drag the entire JList component.
    2) How does one define the remote application as the drop target? Have not found any examples either.
Is the drop target actually the system clipboard?

  • Burning wma files onto cd

I have some large wma files on my mac created by an Olympus digital voice recorder. I'm able to play them through Windows Media Player for Mac. I would like to:

Thanks for your replies. FYI, here's how the problem was resolved:
    1) I was able to create a cd playable on both a Mac and a PC simply by burning directly in Finder and not in Disk Utility. I also used a "music cd-r" disk instead of a regular cd-r (I don't what the difference is, actually, or if it really mattered).
    2) I downloaded EasyWMA for $10, converted a wma file into one playable through iTunes, and burned an audio cd from there. Unfortunately each of my voice recorder files (recordings of classes) runs for 2 hours and an audio disk with the converted files holds only 80 minutes of material, so it wasn't really worth going through that process. If anyone knows of a way of fitting more on an audio cd, I'd be interested.
    Thanks.

  • How do i burn files onto a DVD??

I got a NEC 2510A and it didnt come with any software
I put in a DVD disc and windows doesnt seem to have the ability to burn files onto it like a regular CD-R.
I guess i have to use a program?
What is the most popular program for burning files onto DVD discs?  I am not copying DVD's just using the discs as backup for files.
    Help thanks!

Adeptecs easy cd/dvd creator, also works and has improved greatly from 5.0.  It now almost competes with nero, there is also discjuggler and several other burning suites.  Depends on what you want to do and how much you want to spend.  Probably nero will be your best option.
