Hi,
As of NetWeaver04 (XI 3.0), SP15 or NetWeaver04s (XI 7.0) Support Package 06, it is possible to define a security level for certain HTTP-based XI inbounds. This is done in the directory in the corresponding sender channels.
The following HTTP-based adapters/inbounds are supported:
Integration Server:
o XI protocol
o Plain HTTP adapter
Adapter Engine:
o SOAP adapter
The following HTTP security levels are possible (in ascending order):
HTTP without SSL
HTTP with SSL (= HTTPS) without client authentication
HTTP with SSL (= HTTPS) with client authentication
HTTPS configuration:
Note that for the HTTPS security levels with and without client authentication, you must configure the integration server (ABAP WebAS) or the adapter engine (J2EE WebAS) accordingly. This configuration basically affects the following aspects:
- Installing the SAP Cryptographic Library (both in ABAP and J2EE WebAS)
- Generating and maintaining certificates for the HTTPS server role
- Configuring and mapping the client certificates that are used onto the corresponding internal users (in client authentication). In J2EE WebAS, you must select the option "Request Client Certificate" on the tab "Runtime" and "Client Authentication" in visual admin in the dispatcher service "SSL Provider".
In this regard, see also the SAP Help Portal at http://help.sap.com/ -> Documentation -> SAP NetWeaver -> SAP NetWeaver 2004s (or SAP NetWeaver '04) under SAP NetWeaver Library -> Administrator's Guide -> SAP NetWeaver Security Guide -> Security Guides for NetWeaver according to Usage Types -> Security Guide for Usage Type PI -> SAP NetWeaver Process Integration Security Guide -> Network and Communication Security -> HTTP and SSL.
SOAP adapter configuration:
You still have to configure the SOAP adapter, particulary in visual admin. To do this, change the relevant SOAP adapter service sap.com/com.sap.aii.af.soapadapter*XISOAPAdapter in the security provider service (under -> Runtime-> Policy Configurations). Under the Authentication tab set the list of login modules as follows:
ClientCertLoginModule, SUFFICIENT
BasicPasswordLoginModule, SUFFICIENT
You do not need to enter anything specific into the Options column.

  • Reg:Mail Adapter

    Hi,
I have a requiremnt like i need to pick the txt file from the sender side and place that file to the targer. Once the Tarfget file is place i need to send mail with the input file as attachement and body of the mail should have few details from the payload.
In interfface determination i have checked maintian oreder at runtime. ISo when the file is placed then only mail is sent.
The problem is i am able to get the content in the mail bosy. But i am not able to send input file as an attachment.
I have seen many blogs in SDN, but only body or attachemnt is possible at a time. Otherwise i need to do XSLT mapping or java mapping for this..
Can u please help in this issue.
    Regards,
    Ramana'

You can either have attachment or email-body using the mail adapter....both of them are not supported at the same time (in standard functionality).
    Update:
If you are looking for an option then having a JAVA mapping will help you create both body and attachment:
    /people/stefan.grube/blog/2007/04/17/xi-mail-adapter-an-approach-for-sending-emails-with-attachment-with-help-of-java-mapping
But the sa,e cannot be achieved using message mapping.

  • Xi sender mail adapter with attachment (to Web Service w/ attachment)

    Hello,
We're working on an XI scenario wherein a sender mail adapter polls an exchange server inbox for mail (with attachment)and sends the attachment to a Web Service via SOAP Adapter? Does anyone know if this is doable, and if so, how?
    Thanks,
    Eric

    Hi!
I think so, if you just have a single attachment to be transferred.
Use the Mail Sender Adapter and specify the MailServer URL etc...
In the Module provessor of the Mail-Adapter you have to specify the PayloadSwapBean ( -> this changes the payload - the attachment becomes the payload)
then you configure the standard XI-scenario with
    SenderAgreement
    Mapping if necessary
    Receiver Agreement
    Receiver adapter

  • Reg:Receiver Mail Adapter

    Hi ..
I am using Mail adapter at reciever side.
I am using Mail package for this.
I have selected SMTP as Transport Protocol.
and I have selected XIPAYLOAD  as Message Protocol
in URL i ahve given in the below format.
    SMTP://host ip address:port
I have checked Use Mail Package option.
In Content Encoding i have selected None.
While executing the scenario, i am getting the below error in channel monitoring.
Message processing failed. Cause: com.sap.aii.af.sdk.xi.srt.BubbleException: Failed to call the endpoint  [null "null"]; nested exception caused by: com.sap.aii.af.sdk.xi.srt.BubbleException: Unknown encoding name for the mail content:  [null "null"]
    Thanks,

    Hi Suraj,
I have used the  weblog "/people/stefan.grube/blog/2007/04/17/xi-mail-adapter-an-approach-for-sending-emails-with-attachment-with-help-of-java-mapping
I got the attached mail and body content separately..
But  i want to use the java maaping in my UDF. because we are having dependency.Whenever the file is placed in recievr folder, then only we need to send mail.
so we are doing 1: N mapping. reciever side we used 2 structures. one for file and other is mail xsd.
and we need the file name and file content dynamically. In the weblog they hardcoded the filename and other details.
So can you please help in writing the UDF for the java mapping..
I have removed the code from the java mapping andmodified  as ashown below.
protected static void copySource(InputStream in, OutputStream out)
         throws IOException {
        int c;
        while ((c = in.read()) != -1) {
          switch (c){
             case '&': out.write("&".getBytes()); break;
             case '\"': out.write(""".getBytes()); break;
             case '\'': out.write("'".getBytes()); break;
             case '<': out.write("&lt;".getBytes()); break;
             case '>': out.write("&gt;".getBytes()); break;
             default: out.write(c);
Is there anything to add ? Can you please suggest.

  • Mail adapter scenario

    Hi
I require some input on including a mail adapter to an existing scenario
    The scenarios is as follows,
I have to create some files around 20 and place them in two folders , that build has been done and tested , so I have a multi mapping , for those 20 files , and enhanced interface determination and is working fine
Now a new requirement is to send an email ,
kindly  tell me the steps in IR and ID to include the mail adapter in this interface ??
considering it as an additional feature, nthing to do with Files ,,,
which means that an email adapter has to be called with the file adapters ( not before not after....the precedence doesnt matter )
its just that along with creating the files an email has to be sent ... thats all
I want to know what am i required to create :
in IR : is there a separate interface required .. smthing to do in mapping also ? i am presuming not since it is inbound
in ID  : can i create a dummy busines service  and what all do i need to create ???
    please help
    thanks
    Dev

    Hi,
You create a message type for mail adapter and an message interface. You can also use the predefined message type from sap. So now in multimapping you add this message type and map from your source to this mail mapping. Add the same message interface in interface mapping.
Create a mail receiver communicaiton channel with your mailbox parameters. Then add this to your receiver determination. Also you need to create a receiver agreement for this one.
You can see some help here:
    /people/prasad.ulagappan2/blog/2005/06/07/mail-adapter-scenarios-150-sap-exchange-infrastructure
You can do a search for more blogs and tutorials on mail adapter.

  • Sender Mail Adapter Configuration - Process Multiple Attachments

    Dear sirs,
I need to process several attachments at the same mail message as individual payloads.
In default configuration of sender mail adapter only the body of message is used as payload.
So I added PayloadSwapBean Module at Processing Sequence and it processed the attachment I set in Module Configuration.  I'm not able to process all attachments available, just one attachment is sent to PI pipeline.
How can I process all attachments of a single mail message?
    Thank you in advance.

  • Sender Mail Adapter Error: exception caught during processing mail message;

HI , I am configuring mail to file scenario. Need to read mail content (no need to capture From,TO or Subject details) and create a file with the content in the mail.
Need to read mails from microsoft outlook. Exchange server has been configured for POP3 protocol.
Following are the details provoding in sender mail adapter:
URL: provided url in the format: pop://<server name>
    Authentication method: plain
provided user credinetions to access mails.
    poll interval - 1min
    content encoding none.
processing parameters : quality of service-exactly once
Since there is no need to capture From,TO or Subject details, didn't select the option - use mail package.
Verified for unread mails in the mail box and made sure that there are few unread mails.
Also, created data types and other components in IR and completed mapping.
But after starting sender mail communication channel, getting error "exception caught during processing mail message; java.lang.NullPointerException" in RWB-adapter-communication channel monitoring.
please let me know what needs to be done to resolve this error.
    Thanks.

HI Stefan, i tried, but still it is giving same error. Yes, i am able to access outlook mail with the user credentials given in the communication channel to access exchange server.
I am using message protocol: xipayload . Also since i dont have to capture TO,from, subject details., created data type just with one element of type string, not in the standard format .Does this makes any difference.

  • Sender Mail Adapter - CC Error

    Hi,
    My scenario is Mail>XI>Proxy(R/3).
The sender mail adapter checks the e-mail box and procces into XI.
I'm getting the following error in the CC:
    "exception caught during processing mail message, java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException 0 > = 0"
But, this error is only present when the client try to sent the e-mail data, If i resend the same e-mail manually it works perfectly ( Which led me to think that the CC configuration is correct ).
I'm not ruling out any outlook issue.
Do you guys have experiencied this kind of issue?
    Thanks.

    Thanks Satish,
I'm sending the same e-mail. (manually works, automatically don´t work)
Also, I can´t see the result of the payload because the error is in CC and only shows that error.
    Configuration CC:
    Transport Protocol: POP3
    Message Protocol: XIPAYLOAD
    URL, User,Pass...
    Encoding : base64
    Quality of service: Exactly Once
    - Any suggestions?

    Hi
    have a look at this
You can use Java/ABAP proxies to do this job for you..
Java Proxy >> will read the mail(with the attachments) with the help of Java APIs and send the message into XI ABAP Proxy >> for this you will have to first convert the attachment into a message and then you can proceed in the regular fashion.
Not all adapters can process attachments, I'm not sure why you are having trouble with using module processor in the mail adapter. Just check if the service pack that you are using supports this feature.
If you are on WAS 6.10 and above you can achieve this and there is an excellent weblog by Thomas Jung on this topic at
    /people/thomas.jung3/blog/2004/09/09/receiving-e-mail-and-processing-it-with-abap--version-610-and-higher
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/6d967fbc-0a01-0010-4fb4-91c6d38c5816
reading Pdf Through mail easly done with Java Proxy, which will read the mail(with the attachments) with Java APIs and send the message into XI and then map with the Target ABAP proxy structure .
    Thanks

  • Receiver mail adapter - Payload as a Text attachment

    Hi,
In my proxy to mail adapter scenario, when i want to send payload to email as a Text email, where i need to content conversion in XI (XML to Txt file)
when i send payload, currently i am receiving as a XML file.
I try to follow like Rushikesh Deshmukh XI thread: Text Attachment in Mail Adapter  in XI forum(topic)
    I have having following config
    Processing Sequence
    localejbs/CreateAttachment Local Enterprise Bean XML2Plain
    localejbs/sap.com/com.sap.aii.adapter.mail.app/XIMailAdapterBean Local Enterprise Bean mail
    Module Configuration
    XML2Plain Transform.Class com.sap.aii.messaging.adapter.Conversion
    XML2Plain Transform.ContentType text/plain;charset=utf-8
    XML2Plain xml.Header1000.fieldFixedLengths 100,10,10,30,30,80,80,20,10,10,20,20,30,10,18,240,10,30,18,10
    XML2Plain xml.Header2000.fieldFixedLengths 100,30,40,240
    XML2Plain xml.addHeaderLine 0
    XML2Plain xml.conversionType StructXML2Plain
    XML2Plain xml.recordsetStructure Header1000,Header2000
    Please suggest some solution."
Could you tell me exactly where i need to do all these setting and
do i need import localejbs/CreateAttachment Local Enterprise Bean XML2Plain...I mean shall i add same in my processing sequence
give in detail ? (in Receiver mail adapter Communication channel,  advanced mode additional parameters)
I tried to follow this also
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/EN/4e/c153426da9bd30e10000000a155106/frameset.htm
but i could not find much info on this help.sap.com reg. req.
    Thanks
    Prabaharan

    Hi
f i create like this Receiver CC (module Tab)
    number: 1
    Module Name: localejbs/CreateAttachment
    Module Type: Local Enterprise Bean
    Module Key: mail
is it enough? do i need any other setting like this
Did you deployed CreateAttachment on PI server. As this is not a standard SAP module this is a custom module?
mail as module key is already used by XIMAILAdapterBean use some other key for CreateAttachment
Settings are fine for the Module
    Processing Sequence
    localejbs/CreateAttachment Local Enterprise Bean XML2Plain
    localejbs/sap.com/com.sap.aii.adapter.mail.app/XIMailAdapterBean Local Enterprise Bean mail
    Module Configuration
    XML2Plain Transform.Class com.sap.aii.messaging.adapter.Conversion
    In this:
    Module Key: XML2Plain
    Parameter Name: Transform.Class
    Parameter Value: com.sap.aii.messaging.adapter.Conversion
    is it right?
    Processing sequence is fine
    XML2Plain Transform.ContentType text/plain;charset=utf-8
    XML2Plain xml.Header1000.fieldFixedLengths 100,10,10,30,30,80,80,20,10,10,20,20,30,10,18,240,10,30,18,10
    XML2Plain xml.Header2000.fieldFixedLengths 100,30,40,240
    XML2Plain xml.addHeaderLine 0
    XML2Plain xml.conversionType StructXML2Plain
    XML2Plain xml.recordsetStructure Header1000,Header2000
can i anyone explain how to these settings?
Is this key valid to provide inputs to the module check with the code for this module
This looks like valid for MessageTransformBean ro StrictXMLtoPlainBean
    Thanks

  • Receiver Mail Adapter - Body and Attachment

    Hello All,
Based on the document How to Use the Mail Adapter of the XI 3.0 J2EE Adapter Engine section 3.2.4 says that the payload of the message is sent as the body and an attachment when the Keep Attachments checkbox is configured. By default, the payload of the message is also sent as an attachment.
In testing this feature - if it is checked I get the attachment - if it is not checked I get the payload in the body of the email.  I do not get both.
I am using an xslt mapping.

Thank you so much for your patience.  The mapping works if I do not use the extra content_type tags.  Do I need to include the Mime-Version: 1.0....also, notice the
      <Content_Type>multipart/mixed; boundary="b1"</Content_Type>
    Versus
    <Content>--b12 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit My Order --b1
Your example shows use of  Content-Type - and the XSLT sample shows <Content_Type> Do you know what the correct format is to use?.

  • Receiver Mail Adapter, Mail Package with Payload as Attachment

    Hi Everyone,
I have spent the better part of the day today searching and testing all of the different combinations that I could think of to solve this problem, so please don't just do an SDN search for me and cut/paste in the links as there are too many contradictive answers piling up over the last year.
I am trying to use a Receiver mail adapter to send some data using the mail package, and I want to have the <content> tag be in an attachment.  I am using mail package to dynamically set the mail address, but to also try and turn my data into a csv file that the recipient can open in Excel.
My mail package sets the following values:
    <Content_Type>text/plain</Content_Type>
    <Content_Disposition>attachment</Content_Disposition>
    <Content>Sample Text</Content>
This blog is basically what I am trying to do:
    <a href="/people/community.user/blog/2006/09/08/email-report-as-attachment-excelword:///people/community.user/blog/2006/09/08/email-report-as-attachment-excelword
But no where in here is he setting ContentDisposition, and he is (potentially) not using the MessageTransformBean module.
It is unclear if I need to use the MessageTransformBean to make this work?
    Questions:
    1) Do I need to use the MessageTransformBean?
    2) Do I need to set the ContentDisposition in the mail package?
    3) Does Service Pack matter with these settings?  We are on SP15 upgrading to SP18 very soon.
    Thanks
    Peter

    Hi Peter,
    try:
    <Content_Type>text/plain;name="file.csv"</Content_Type>
    <Content_Disposition>attachment;filename="file.csv"</Content_Disposition>
    <Content>Sample Text</Content>
    Regards
    Stefan
